Verizon dsl and linksys have same ip address

i have verizon dsl ip address 192.168.1.1 and a linksys router wrt54gs and i cant get the two hooked up together.i was told to go to the linksys page by typing 192.168.1.1 but it takes me to verizon.what do ii do and how can i get my dsl moden set up wireless withe the linksys.ive called verizon and linksys and spent hrs on the phone and they cant figure it out.any help would be great.thanks.

The back of your router will have ports where you can plugs cables into, just make sure your tower cable is connected to a regular port. the regular ports will be close together whereas the wan port (where you connect the dsl modem to is alone).
So....you should have your tower connected to a regular port and the dsl modem cable is not connected to your modem.
Hold the one of Windows key down ( the Windows logo key located to the left and right of the ALT keys) and hit the R key. A small window will pop up.
Type cmd then click Ok
A dos window will open, type Ipconfig /all and hit enter
Look for Default Gateway and tell me what the IP address is.
Also tell me what the IP Adress is.
What I'm looking for here is, your IP address and the routers address (Default Gateway)

Verizon DSL and Airport Extreme

I'm going to add aniBook (oe whatever Apple will call it by then) this spring, as I want to enjoy the wi fi fun like evryone else. My ISP is Verizon DSL, and I was wondering if anyone else here in the discussion board is currently using an Ibook with Verzion DSL and Airport Extreme. I think Verizon has a modem that supports both wired and wireless networking--which is what I'll need since I won't be retiring my iMac G5 anytime soon. So any adive or info would be appreciated.

I currently have the ActionTech Modem (supplied by Verizon) as my wireless router, but would like to replace that with my Airport Extreme. Can this be done?
You will need both. Since both supply NAT, DHCP services and WiFi Access Point, you will have to turn off all three of those in one of them. This is usually called putting the device in "bridge" mode. My recommendation is to turn off those features on the Actiontech modem/router/access point, turning it into a plain DSL modem, and let the AEBSn do all the 3 features (NAT, DHCP, AP).

If you are saying that you both have iCloud accounts and use the same icloud ID, then yes, the contacts will be deleted. The idea is that all devices using the same icloud ID are kept in sync. You need to use different IDs. You can keep the same iTunes ID so you can share the songs and apps. But use different icloud IDs.

EWS Managed API: Email sender name incorrect if loading properties of multiple emails and several emails have same email address (but different names)

I have an issue using the Exchange Web Services Managed API. I'm essentially implementing an 'inbox', and am essentially using two calls:
folder.FindItems(filter, view) with the view set up with the 'idonly' property.
The returns a 'FindItemResults<>' object containing a set of items.
And then calling service.LoadPropertiesForItems(items, props), where the props contains all 'first class properties', which includes the sender details.
Now, the inbox contains several emails from the same email address but with different displaynames.
E.g. There may be one email from "Bob <[email protected]>" and another email from "Alice <[email protected]>" and another email from "Charlie <[email protected]>" etc.
The issue is that in the information that EWS returns from the call to LoadPropertiesForItems, every email ends up with the same sender name (from the first one in the list)!
i.e. When I enumerate through the returned items, the item.Sender.Name will always be"Bob" for every email where Sender.Address is [email protected]
I have debugged this with a http sniffer just to ensure that it really is the EWS coming back with this information rather than anything in the managed layer.
Is this a known issue? How can I work around this (without querying every single email for the sender name individually, as that would be too slow)?

Thanks for the reply.
The scenario is that the client receives emails from a (3rd-party) automated system. The email address from this automated system is always "noreply@<blah.com>", while the display name is used to differentiate the actual sender.
I suspect that this kind of system will likely become more widely used, and so for us will increase in priority (obviously its a priority for our client already)!
Just for the record, if this is a known issue do you have a bug number or equivalent for it? (I tried to search but couldn't locate it).

Verizon DSL and wrt54g

Having problems installing my linksys wrt54g v8 router with my verizon DSL internet connection. On the step where the computer checks the internet connection I get an error message saying. Unable to detect internet connection or something like that. I tried going into command prompt and typing ipconfig/release and ipconfig/renew then ipconfig/all and tried again but still same message. I also tried powering down the modem and restarting it. And restarting the whole entire computer but it still isn't working. Was just wondering if anyone else is having a problem with verzion and linksys router. Also if you have experienced this problem how have you fixed it? Should I try setting up a static ip or would that just be a waste of time? If you have any other suggestions then please feel free to give me any and all information you can. I'm not a beginner on computers so I fully know what I'm doing though I'm not a complete expert so I'm a little stumped on this particular issue. Thanks for reading.

Verizon DSL and Airport Extreme Setup Problem

I have Verizon DSL (not FIOS). I am using a Westell modem, model number B90-210015-04.
I try to go through the setup but the Airport Extreme Utility says it cannot find a valid IP address (the light keeps flashing).
I have it setup in bridge mode since I think my modem is also a router. However, there are a lot of other inputs in the setup and I don't know if I need to put in anything for those (e.g. DNS Servers, Domain Name, etc.). I called Verizon and they said there shouldn't be any special inputs. They implied it should just work out of the box.
The modem is working with my existing Netgear router (model number WGR614 v4).
Any help?

Had the same problem. Had the same setup as yours.
If you use WPA/WPA2 and if your password is too short (less than or equal to 8 characters), the AirPort Extreme Utility will misleadingly tell you it cannot find a valid IP address. As it turns out, WPA/WPA2 requires a longer password (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wpa2). I don't understand why a weak password would result in a confusing error message like this, but after I used a stronger and longer password, the dreadful amber light finally turned green!
PS: I didn't enter any DNS/DHCP info nor my DSL account/password info throughout the entire setup process. I figured that if I didn't need these pieces of information with the old router before then I shouldn't need them with this new hardware.

Verizon DSL and FTP/SSH issues

Can somebody competent suggest finally something here ? (the web is full of unresolved complains about this).
PROBLEM
iMac, Leopard -FTP server activated, firewall completely disabled. No problem connecting to it from another machine on the same network using local network IP address (as listed in Apple sharing panel: "Other people can access your FTP server at ftp://192.168.1.x").
The problem is connecting to the server from OUTSIDE the local network (that is on the IP assigned to my machine by Verizon DSL modem/router combo) as this always fails with message: "Connection refused"
It is not clear to me what is refusing connection, the router, the mac itself or just the ftp server.
I set up port forwarding on the router (ports 20,21) per widely circulating instructions but that makes no difference whatsoever to my ability to connect to that server.
The situation is really confusing because a simple web check (http://www.canyouseeme.org/) shows them open, fully accessible, but on the other hand when I do port scan in Network Utility on my mac I see them only open under local IP, external IP only allows 6 ports (telnet, http, http-alt, etc) open, and port forwarding on the modem makes no difference to what Network Utility reports as open on wide IP *.
I know that forwarding works on this Verizon modem from the fact that I was able to get my bittorrent client to work correctly (NAT problem) once I opened its port on the router. So I'm tempted to conclude that it is something on the mac that refuses. But what, firewall (shouldn't - it's disabled), the ftp server (unlikely 3rd party server "Pure FTPd Manager" shows exactly the same behaviour) ?
So who? And what to do?

Do other users in our org have this issue?
How about the mailflow to internet? If all of the users in our org cannot send to internet, please verify the Send Connector Configuration on Exchange Server 2013.

Printer and Computer have different ip addresses

I have a Mac running OS 10.6 with an ip address of 192.168.1.2 and I am trying to connect it to an hp deskjet 3054 j610. The printer shows ip 192.168.1.7. Can anyone tell me how to change the ip on my printer so the two can find each other? I tried plugging the printer into the back of my router (netgear) but that did nothing.

Just like houses on the same street, devices on a network MUST have different IP addresses. SInce they have the same structure (192.168.1.X), they are on the same network.
Type the printer's IP into a web browswer. Can you see the internal settings of the printer?

Restart your Mac.
Reset the printing system:
- Go to System Preferences > Print & Scan
- Right (or control) click in the rectangle listing your printers and select Reset Printing System.
WARNING - this will delete ALL of your printers!
- Select the plus sign to re-add a printer. Select the Defualt tab on the top of the window. Look for the printer, select it and then next to the "Use" pulldown, select the printer model (not AirPrint). Wait until the "Add" button becomes available. Click it.

Will InDesign CS6 and CC have same file format?

Hi all...
A fairly simple question: Do anybody know whether InDesign CC will retain the same file format from InDesign CS6, so you can open files made in both application. Say you subscribe to CC and work for somebody who one have CS6? Will you did be able to use files without any issues?

If InDesign CS6 is indeed included - and I have read the same thing - it will do.
It is a bit of a mess that the file format change from version to version, especially now when the CC apps is just going to be called CC and is always updated to the latest version. Eventualy we might have to work with CC 1.0, CC 1,5 and CC 2.0 files unless Adobe have some kind of brilliant solution. Oh well....
