Verizon email not working on new iphone 5

I upgraded to a iphone 5 from a iphone 4.  All works perfectly, except my Verizon email.  I matched my email settings from the iphone 4, called support, googled the problem, and still cannot get it to work.  Keeps saying, 'username and password are incorrect'.  I changed my password via the internet, and still the same.  Help!

I have an iPad 2 with iOS 8.1.3
No problems receiving and sending VZ Email

Suggest you turn iPad OFF completely and turn it back ON BEFORE doing attachment see if that solves prob.
PS above procedure also works for my iPhone 5

    2 came through but the main one which is my default still never came through
    I went online on my laptop and to test the email which was going to my default had arrived, so it's only incoming email for that default account is what I'm having trouble with on my phone
    I have tried switching the phone off and on, resetting the phone back to factory conditions,  deleting and reinstating on the iphone, sending myself an email from my laptop then looking on the phone......
    Just looked into the email account there and 4 old emails dated 18/8/2011 have managed to come through...but still nothing else, still get the spinning dial saying 'checking for Mail...'
    There has to be something wrong with the server???

    Ok, this is what I figured out after 4 hours of testing. Restoring as a new device didn't help for me. Also hard reset, re-installs, unchecking and checking all notification options did not help. I installed facebook messenger but also this program did not have notifications (all my other notifications work.....)
    As my wife deactivated her account I made up a new test account and logged in on my Iphone 4S. Surprisingly this new account had no notification problem at all. The problem is I had been testing with messages all along (and not with reactions on wall posts). It now turns out that all works fine on my original account except for notifications of private messages (or you can call them chat messages). They will simply not work on my original account but work perfectly on my new test account.
    The only difference between the test account and the original acount is that I a have an active user account (FB is doing some testing with acttive users so that they receive lesse indicidual mails by gving those users the option (a check box) to receive overview mails) .     I do not know but I definitely know this is an account problem and not an hardware or software problem. So to all of you try to log in with a different or test account to corner the problem. Please react on this post if you have a solution.

  • Push email not working since purchasing iPhone 3G

    Yesterday I bought an iPhone 3G to upgrade from my old iPhone. With the old iPhone and 2.0 installed, push email worked fine, as did the calendar and contacts to the most part.
    When setting my new iPhone up, I told it to set up like my old iPhone which it did, but now push mail is not working. Calendar and contacts are fine, just mail. I've tried switching things on and off, restarting the phone, etc. but all to no avail. I've even deleted the MobileMe (who ever names these things should be shot... from now on I will call it iTools!) account, and recreated it using the assitant on the iPhone, but still nada... I still have to fetch the emails.
    Anyone got any ideas. Thanks.

    iTools would be a stupid name too. It is not a set of tools, it is a set of features for your MOBILE phone. and it's like Microsoft Exchange whose first letters are M and E. i'm sure that ain't their reason, but it's just fine by me.
    As for your problem, I've had some intermittent problems with my mobileme email being pushed as well. i'd say about 75% of the time it works (98.2% of statistics are randomly made up on the spot, including all those in this message!). i just chalk it up to growing pains and hope it fixes itself soon or i'll go back to my Exchange server which has been flawless so far.

  • POP & SMTP verizon email not working since 11/12

    Windows LiveMail & Outlook stopped working w/ my verizon email accts. several days ago. Settings are correct, have validated numerous times. Tried repairing Windows Live Essentials, etc. The only way I can get my verizon email is to use a web browser.
    Tried disabling Bitdefender Total Security 2015 firewall & antivirus but no change. There's no virus or trojan on the laptop.
    Tried pinging smtp.verizon.net and pop.verizon.net. Request timed out on both.

    Hi, the resolve for me was to change mail clients. Windows LiveMail, despite repairing Windows Essentials 2012 had hit the wall. I switched to Thunderbird which worked w/ my verizon mail accts. I also changed my Verizon web mail setting to save the sent mail on the server. Apparently that made a difference. Without that switched on my mail would not come into a mail client anymore. Despite everything working perfectly for years and no changes on my end (that I'm aware of). Also would not rule out a Windows Update that could have caused this, as they install automatically.

    Hi,
    I just got a new iPhone 4, running ios 5.0.1. Everything seems fine except that iCal isn't working - I can't add any new events. There's no "+" showing and the only events are birthdays coming automatically from my Address Book.
    I sent myself an event invitation from someone else's machine, it came into my iPhone's Mail inbox and I clicked on Add to Calendar in the mail message... but it didn't show up in my calendar!
    Can anyone help??

    Problem solved! In Settings I had nominated my gmail account to have calendars when I actually needed to use my other email account.

  • Photo Streaming not working on new iPhone 4s

    Hi guys,
    I just got my new iPhone 4s and turned Photo Streaming on, in the iCloud prefs, but nothing happens. I chose to backmy iPhone from iCloud instead of my computer. I have double checked that I'm linking the correct iCloud account, that I'm on a wifi network and on my other devices(AppleTV and iPad) Photo streaming works fine.
    Any ideas?

    Photo Stream only works over WiFi, so are you connected to WiFi?

  • 3G not working on new iPhone 6!!

    I just bought my iPhone 6 yesterday, and after turning on the cellular data, it only shows "E" and nothing opens. i tried to turn plane mode on & off, reset network settings, restart phone. I have contacted the carrier technical team for more support, they said maybe the issue is from the SIM card because most of iPhones 6 have the same problem here, I changed it.. and still not working!
    should I try to restore it to factory settings through iTunes?
    or could it be a hardware problem and i should return it back?

    I just upgraded this afternoon from my iPhone 4 to a new iPhone 5. I am currently connected to my wifi network and just noticed iMessages and facetime wont work! I tried signing in using my apple id and it says check your connection and try again or waiting for activation. I know there isn't an issue with my apple ID as i used it on my old iphone 4 and just purchased some apps in the store and it worked great! wnl
    Also, the apps I downloaded are telling me to connect to iTunes to recieve push notifications, but push notifications are on for the apps! I also connected and synced my iPhone with my computer to try to solve all issues stated above, no dice.  I realize these questions have been asked several times, so sorry to repeat a thread! Any help appreciated.

    Additonally, at this point I really want to talk to someone who cares about how a customer like I might feel in such a situation and when I call corporate would like to talk to someone who is interested in hearing my input as it really sucks to think I really don't feel like going to the store anymore and would rather just buy stuff on amazon or newegg these days instead;/  When I know how much i used to enjoy going into the store and getting friendly with kind staff who worked with me to get the best deal on the items I got--perhaps this was because it was at a more desperate time when Best Buys fate as a company was more precarious prior to price matching taking origin.  Also, on an aside, would like to add that obviously there is always the one or two people who go out of their way to make sure you have an excellent expeirenece so I am not trying to make any sweeping generalizations here.  In fact, I find the forum contributors to be among the most kind and helpful, but that might be because they don't have to deal with the now seemingly dreaded "pricematch" epidemic;D

    You don't. Apps are permanently tied to the ID used to purchase them. Instead of creating a new ID, change the primary email address on your existing ID.

    If you are only updating apps, that's normal  Apps and other purchased media are permanently tied to the ID used to purchase them.  You also don't back up apps or music to iCloud, the only thing backed up to iCloud is your app data, which is part of your iCloud backup by default.
    Is your phone signed into the old ID in Settings>iCloud?
