Verizon email on Android phone

Recently, the Verizon email on my phone resets itslef and says that I have not read emails when I have.  It appears as though  I have new messages, but when I go in to view them on my phone, it is old messages showing up as Unread (aka New).
Upon logging in via the web access on a pc, those messages are "Read".  Why does the email on the phone continue to reset and mark messages as unread?  This happens multiple times in one day.

I was heading to a store this weekend as my Verizon email settings keep get refected for a failure to authorize.  I just downloaded the app and can now get my emails but it's not as convenient as just hitting the email icon.  Did the rep say when or if this was going to be fixed or is there a way to show your email as an icon from the Fios app itself?

    My university runs MS Exchange server.
    I use MS Outlook on my Univ computer, Thunderbird on my laptop, and exchange email client on my HTC One smartphone running Android.
    Thunderbird saves email in "Sent" folder on the server. Android phone saves it on the "Sent items" folder. MS Outlook can see both the folders, but Thunderbird only sees the "Sent" folder.
    How can I make Thunderbird see the "Sent items" folder?

    assuming you use an IMAP mail account:
    Tools > Account Settings > Copies & Folders for the mail account
    If you want emails saved in 'Sent Items'
    select:' Place a copy in'
    select: 'Other'
    choose 'Sent Items' on account name'
    click on OK
    To see the 'Sent Items folder you would need to subscribe to see it.
    If you have a Pop mail account, it cannot see any folders on the server.
    It can only download emails from server Inbox to Thunderbird mail account Inbox.

    won't add it. So, I am without my regular, most used email address on my mobile phone.
    How do I fix this problem step by step and what happened in the first place.
    If I canot retrieve my email there is no need for data. I need it for college classes and work,
    as well as other business uses.
    Can someone help me?
    In addition, I have been receiving ALOT of SPAM on my regular Verizon-Yahoo email over the
    past 6-12 months and I don't understand why. How do I fix that. I keep sending these adult ads
    and other SPAM to the SPAM folders but it keeps coming back!! Is someone signing me up
    for this stuff and how do i stop t from happening?

    Hi:
    I experience the same problem when I downloaded systems updates on my Android Bionic phone, I was not able to sync my Verizon Yahoo email account.  I went through the same steps and nothing worked, until one savvy Verizon Wireless IT support agent told me to download the Yahoo Mail App on to my phone and that solved my problem instantly.  I logged in using my Verizon.net username and password and have been able to access my email with no problems ever since and have also updated my Yahoo Mail App and all works beautifully.

    Good Afternoon; I know how frustrating it is to want a new phone, and be told that you are not eligible to upgrade early. My name is Shane, and I will be assisting you today regarding your most recent email.
    I am sorry to say that it is not possible for us to do the upgrade. We most certainly don’t want to lose a valued customer, but we can’t break our contract with Apple. If we did this for you, we would have to do it for everyone. If we did this for everyone we would risk losing our contract with Apple, and not be able to sell iPhones at all. I understand it is a savings to cancel your contract with us, and move to another provider we certainly don’t want you to do that, but that is an option for you.

    I just purchased my iPhone, one thing I don't like is that with my Blackberry it allowed me to put an Out of Office reply to my emails. I thought the iPhone was a leader!!! Blackberry and other Android phones can do it.

    Why can't you?  Simple..Apple doesn't include that feature.
    Download and use iMExchange instead.

    When I send an email form my Android phone to my Photosmart 5514 printer I get the following error.
    550 5.7.0 bad DKIM signature data [BODY]
    I can print from my PC and my ipad with no problem.

    The whole DKIM issue is with HP, has nothing to do with server updates at all and that is just a line of crap.  
    HpEprint mail servers run off Postini and Postini cannot handle DKIM requests that most email servers, or professional ones now a days run.  DomainKeys Identified Mail (DKIM)  lets an organization take responsibility for a message that is in transit.  The organization is a handler of the message, either as its originator or as an intermediary. Their reputation is the basis for evaluating whether to trust the message for further handling, such as delivery. Technically DKIM provides a method for validating a domain name identity that is associated with a message through cryptographic authentication.
    Being that HP does not know how to set this up on their Postini Mail Server is why your mail server is having problems.  This has been like this since the launch of HP EPrint, and HP has no intention of addressing the issue.  The only thing you can do is if you run your own email server is to deactivate DKIM settings on your server, personally I would not do that as it defeats the purpose of DKIM Security.  I have been banging my head against the wall with HP trying to tell them how to fix this but they just turn a blind eye.  I used to be a teir 2 for HP and am well aware of this problem and the simplicity for them to turn on DKIM settings on their server to no avail.
    So in short it is much easier to just disable HP Eprint and use Google Cloud Print, it is much better than HP crap anyhow.
    So do not let a bunch of call center computer wannabe's tell you anything else, they are full of **bleep**.  I run my own mail server and have for over 20 years, I know what I am talking about.

    I simply cannot get email to work on my HTC incredible Android phone.
    I try entering details manually and have entered the following settings
    Incoming settings
    Protocol: POP
    Email address-my bt email address
    Username-my bt email address

    Security type-SSL
    Server port 995
    Protocol: POP
    Email address-my bt emailaddress
    Username-my bt email address

    For each of the settings I get the message
    Authentication failed. Please verify your username/password
    I know my email address and password are correct as I use them to log on to my PC each day. I know my username is my email address and have checked this online to confirm
    Any suggestions as to what to do?

    Tick the box "Require sign in"

    If you are settiing it up as an IMAP account the Incoming Port will be 993

    Thank you for your question. I understand that there are two devices that are logged into the Sync account. However the Android is not syncing.
    There are two places we can check:
    # In the Android Settings, under accounts is the attached account Firefox Sync or Firefox Sync (deprecated)?
    # Do the login credentials work on accounts.firefox.com on the mobile device and are there any error messages on the Sync menu from Settings > Sync?

    Hello I have a Sprint Instinct phone that I would like to be able to receive my Verizon email on. I have a Yahoo work email that I can send and receive emails fine from. I get the account set up, it receives my inbox emails fine, then when I go to send a emal it always gives me an error of S7122. I have set up my POP account this way:  incoming.verizon.net and outgoing to: outgoing.verizon.net. It is getting through, but I must be missing something.

    It will only work with authentication. It needs your user name and password entered or you will get an error.

  • Mail shows 3 unread emails but i've read them on my android phone phone and they are marked as read on GMAIL.

    Hello, I know that Mail in Mavericks has a lot of problems, but i still haven't read about this one. I returned home and saw 3 unread emails, when opened, i've noticed that i've already read them earlier today using Gmail on my android phone. So i opened Gmail webmail and they were marked there as read as well. Even after checking for new mail manually, they were unread in my Mail.app. I had to open these emails to mark them as read.
    Have anyone of you experienced the same behavior?

    Found my solution:
    Try this... "you could create a smart mailbox to filter unread emails, go to mail menu, mailbox>create smart mailbox, and choose the unread email rule. then look in the smart mailbox to see which emails show up."

  • Verizon not letting me check my email from my phone... Why could this be?

    I am trying to figure out how to fix it. I just got the Pantech Hotshot and when I try to log into my gmail account to search my emails it won't let me log in at all. It says invalid password and so when I go on my computer and type in the same password it let me log in and I got an email saying there is supicious activity because someone tried to log in from an unknown device (that would be me trying to log in from my phone) but this has never happened to me before when I had my old phone. So how do I make it so Verizon can recognize that the email belongs to me thus allowing me to log in? Gmail gave me basic trouble shooting but nothing about how to be able to log into my email using my phone. Not sure on this one but help is greatly appreciated.

    Your Verizon email account is completely independent of your iCloud account.
    If you set your Verizon email account up in the iOS Mail app, then it will still be there.
    You may just be in the iCloud Mailbox. Just tap the top-left button in the Mail app a few times to back out of individual mailboxes, and you should find all accounts set up on the device.
