Verizon Email set up

I cannot seem to get my verizon fios email set up for the Pre. I've talked to Verizon and Sprint. Both say its not their issue. Is anyone else having this issue and is there a solution?

Verizon Email set up on iPhone 4S

Hoping someone can help with this...am at my wit's end and have not rec'd a solution from either Apple or Verizon despite dedicating most of the day to finding one.
Have the new iPhone 4S and cannot get my verizon.net email account to set up. I have a mobile me acct which is working well.
I follow the instructions as indicated for setting up the account (settings; mail/contacts/calendar; add new acct.) but it won't authenticate and I receive an error message saying, "The user name or password for incoming.verizon.net is incorrect." I have verified my password with Verizon, tried resetting to a new password but to no avail; user name has also been verified along with the ports, and use is "off".
Additionally, I have erased and restored to factory settings, erased network settings, etc.
I previously used an iPhone 3GS and did not have any issues.

To answer my own question, in hopes that it may help someone else out in the same situation - Yes, my Yahoo! contacts (with phone numbers) appeared on my iPhone 4s after setting up my Yahoo! mail account. Please know that there is still a glitch with contacts syncing, however. It took a few tries and adding/deleting the email account but it finally did work. (another issue alltogether, had the same problem setting up Yahoo on my iPad.)

New Verizon Email Setting Changes with Outlook 2011 on Mac

Verizon has not provided instructions for how to complete the required email settings changes in Outlook 2011 on a Mac. Hence, I am stuck, and unable to send email.
These are the changes I have made (pictured).
I arrived at the first window by clicking Outlook >> Preferences >> Accounts.
I arrived at the sencond by clicking Outlook >> Preferences >> Accounts >> More Options
The resulting error message is below.

I FINALLY figured it out (only an hour and a half)!!! I have Mac OS X 10.6.8
When you have your MAIL open, click on "MAIL" in the upper left corner of the Menu Bar.
Click on "Preferences".
Click on "Accounts" tab across top of pop-up window.
Click on the Account that you want to update in the left column.
Make sure the sub-tab "Account Information" is highlighted (if not, click on it).
I don't know how to do a screen shot, but here's what I have...
Description: Moms email
Email Address: [email protected]
Full Name: My name
Incoming Mail Server: pop.verizon.net
User Name: accountname (what comes before your @verizon.net in your email address)
Password: (enter your password here)
Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP): Click on the entry in this box and select "Edit SMTP server list"
Click on the old server name and type in the new server name "smtp.verizon.net"
On the bottom half of that screen click on the "Advanced" tab.
Click on the "Use custom port" and enter 465
Click on the box "Use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL)
Authentication: Select "Password" from the drop down box
User Name: Enter your user name
Password: Enter your password
Now click "OK"
Check the box that says "Use only this server"
Now click on the "Advanced" tab on the same pop-up window (sub-tab).
On the bottom half of the page, enter this information:
Port: 995 Then check the box "Use SSL"
Authentication: Password
Now you can close the pop-up window. It will ask you if you want to Save the changes, select "Save".
Don't know for sure if restarting your system is required, but it sure can't hurt. This FINALLY worked for me. Hope it works for you.

I recently bought the Playstation Vita Wi-Fi edition and the new system update allows you to set up your email accounts so you can receive/send emails. I tried entering the same information as I did for Microsoft Outlook and it failed. Can someone please let me know how to send up my Verizon email.

Set it for POP for the server protocol. For the incoming server use incoming.verizon.net and for outgoing server use outgoing.verizon.net and use your full email address and password for the username/password. Worked fine for me.

That is usually caused by a few different Bugs in Firefox, which seem to be fixed in the Firefox 4.0 betas.

Welcome to the Apple community.
You need to use the Apple IDs that you created for them for iCloud as well as iTunes. You will also find that you need to use them for messages and face time.

I have a Verizon dry loop (DSL but no telephone #). I want to set up my Verizon email account (@verizon.net). How do I do this when it asks for your Verizon home telephone and I only have Verizon DSL?

Did you try entering your non-verizon telephone or cell phone number? It might be a left-over question that isn't used for dry loop customers but the programmers weren't told to update the logic.

TNS_2, you are correct in noting that with this setup, any email sent to a Verizon account would not be received, and a separate acount in Outlook would need to be created in that solution. Please note that I did say in the opening sentence that this setup was "to work with my third-party (non-verizon) email...." I actually don't use the Verizon email address(es) assigned to me which is why I only focused on these particular settings in order to receive email from a non-verizon account.
If folks don't use a third-party email address and use only their Verizon account, then in the "Incoming mail server" setting they would enter "pop.verizon.net", and put their Verizon email address in the "User Information" and "Login Information" sections. If a user has multiple email addresses, then it is appropriate to set up multiple accounts in Outlook, and set the "Incoming email server" field to the corresponding POP server for that email address. The SMTP setting would remain "smtp.verzion.net".

Try running a system and user cache cleaning utility.
Check Resolving Disk, Permission, and Cache Corruption that includes recommended system and user cache cleaning utilities.
If this doesn't work, try downloading and using the Firefox browser which is free. If the same occurs when using Firefox, this will indicate the problem is with Verizon.

How do I set up my Verizon email on my new ipad

I have a new iPad and want to set up my Verizon email account for access. My home unit is an iMac running Tiger, 10.4.11. I would like to keep the mail on the server until I download them on my home computer. I would like to be able to send mail also from my iPad.

You will not be able to sync your ipad with that computer. The minimum OS X is Leopard, 10.5.8. You'll have to set up your iPad manually and you will not have any really easy way to back up data or copy pictures and music to your iPad.
To activate your Verizon Account go to Settings > Cellular and tap the Account button to get started.

Your Verizon email account is completely independent of your iCloud account.
If you set your Verizon email account up in the iOS Mail app, then it will still be there.
You may just be in the iCloud Mailbox. Just tap the top-left button in the Mail app a few times to back out of individual mailboxes, and you should find all accounts set up on the device.
