Verizon has ruined my credit and doesn't seem to care

I was excited to get approved to buy my first home today, and come to find out that Verizon has TWO ($110) stings against my credit, both for the same amount. This is apparently for the FIOS I used to have, and had to get rid of when I moved.
I never received any phone call, email, or letter from verizon or any collection agency. Also, the amount in question dates back to 2011. Here's the real kicker, I'm STILL a verizon customer. I've had a verizon phone for the past decade, and nobody bothered to call me about this. Instead they're telling me that the bill or payment must've gotten lost in the mail, so instead of contacting me they'd rather attack my credit.
Called verizon, and they said they removed it from their records, but I still have to deal with the collection agency to get it off my record. The collection agency says that I can either pay it, or prove that I paid the amount in question. Since this is from 2011, I have no records of this.
This has turned out to be a bureaucratic nightmare for something that is clearly verizon's fault. Not only am I contemplating dropping them as my phone carrier now, but surely the rest of my family will drop them too for their phones, and FIOS as my family is crushed that I am not going to get the house I found. All over 110 dollars that they couldn't bother picking up the phone and calling me about. This cost me a home, verizon. My first home. Hope you're happy. If this doesn't get resolved soon, I'm going to the BBB. Also will find out what other options I may have against verizon. This is complete ignorance, and makes me sick to my stomach. Can't believe the nightmare this has caused.

I agree they should have contacted you, but in the future, make sure you request a free copy of your credit report from annualcreditreport.com and check it each year to make sure there are no questionable items. Then they can be rectified ASAP so there are no surprises later on when someone else checks your credit :)

I guess I spoke too soon! I really can't believe this nightmare is not over yet! My account is still wrong. The credit that I was due totaled $63.00 I am looking at a message on my phone saying that $21.01 was credited which makes my balance $219.72. I received a text the following day that says, I processed your credit of $30.00 and your new balance $216.73 how is that possible? None of the late fees were credited and the amount due for my monthly charges are wrong. Before any changes were made to my data plan back in Nov. My monthly charges were $140.00, I needed my hot spot back and i was told that the hot spot will increase my bill $10 for each phone that totals $20. The customer rep that change my data plan at that time also gave me a credit of $20 to compensate for the increase until I had time to talk with customer service about the mix-up with my Hot spot. I originally had the hot spot, but the rep that change my plan almost a year prior told me nothing was changing except I was getting more for less money. I explained to that rep that I need my hot spot 4 times a year...and I don't want my plan to have any changes. To verify what I'm telling u check my account and see that I called from Albany New York wanting to know where my hot spot was and I was told I didn't have the hot spot on my account since the last data change! I lost money once again due to the verizon rep's. so my current data plan the rep promised would increase $20 which makes my monthly charges that were $140 prior to the change $160 after the hot spot was returned to my account. Then I was given a $12 credit per month for 12 months because of so many mistakes made to my account so with that $12 credit my monthly charges should $148 + surcharges + taxes and that's not what I see. I do know this much right now my account is in such a shambles I can hardly see the light at the end if there is an end! I need real help!

Can you see Reader 9 inside Applications folder? If yes, then launch Reader and then try to open any pdf via File->Open or drag drop on Reader icon in the doc.
In case you dont find Reader 9 in your Applications folder then you can download and install the latest Reader from the following link: http://get.adobe.com/reader/otherversions/

Firefox has ruined my computer and there is nowhere on the internet with a decent contact option. my question, what now?

I had to download firefox in order to access school resources. I opted to perform the advanced setup as there are a few features I didnt want. I specified in the setup that i didnt want any toolbars. basically, i opted out of everything except for the installation itself. Now that firefox has been installed, I not only have toolbars, even in other browsers, which i specifically unchecked during the installation, but they are impossible to remove. I have tried toolbar options. The option to remove doesnt exist. I have tried to uninstall the toolbar. Again, not possible. In addition, I now have popups every time I do ANYTHING on the internet. Even when not using firefox. And in addition to THAT, my computer has slowed to a dead crawl. Even when i uninstall firefox, all the terrible features remain! This browser has ruined my computer. And ironically, the toolbar I never wanted ALWAYS has an advertisement for "clean up your computer" or "Repair CP issues" or "speed up your computer" and etc. So, what now?

Looks like your computer was infected by a virus, and unless it targeted an security gap in the browser, that has nothing to do with firefox.
Your best bet would be to run some malware scans. Malwarebytes is great.

I have switched my iPad 3G cellular to my Verizon share plan. Even though Verizon has activated the account and device, the IPad is not connecting to the network....message shows 'no service' intermittently with 'Verizon' bars.

Did Verizon give you a new SIM? Have you tried Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings?

How can I bind danish letters to my shortcuts? After Effect doesn't seem to care what I put in my shortcuts txt file.

I want to use the letters "æ" and "ø" to replace the brackets that the american keyboards use for trimming and cut at trim. It seems like such a nice feature.
I've tried putting in unicode with UX00E5 format and so forth like I'm supposed to, but it just doesn't seem to work.

I am a long time Verizon customer. I actually date back to 1997 when I was a part of Airtouch. Regardless, I am having an issue where equipment charges have been added onto my account. Back in early December 2014 my daughter and I upgraded our IPhones from the 5 series to the 6 series. Each new phone had individual postage paid envelopes to mail back the older devices. I put each phone in its respective envelope and mailed both devices back to Verizon on December 22nd. Both devices were received on December 30th.
However, on December 25th I did receive email notices from Verizon telling me that my daughter’s phone had not been received. Yet, when the saw via the USPS website that both devices had been received on December 30th I thought that this would cancel out the emails received prior, because Verizon had received both devices.
Fast forward to the last week of February 2015, I look at my Verizon account to see how much my current charges are and I notice that I have over $700 worth of equipment charges on my account. My equipment charges are generally somewhere in the $100+ range.
I call Verizon on February 26th. I speak to a seemingly very helpful gentleman. I explain the situation and he tells me that he called the warehouse and they confirmed that they received both devices. He was even able to tell me that the warehouse team would credit my account $622.84 seeing the warehouse had indeed received both devices. I called at 9:09am MT. The gentleman told me that the credit would be on my account by 2:00pm MT.
I checked my account on February 27th and the charges had not been removed. I called in again. This time I spoke to a young woman that clearly had no idea what she was doing. Or at least, that’s what I thought. Really, what was happening was she was trying to understand what the last guy that I spoke to did and how it was that he was able to tell me that my account would be credited. She basically wasted 25 minutes of my life and she too did nothing to fix this, despite telling me that she did.
I called again on March 3rd. Unlike before, I was able to find my tracking numbers and give them to the young woman I was speaking to. Maybe it’s just me, but upon receiving the tracking number, I would think that this is an open and shut case. The tracking number definitely prove that the devices were received by Verizon. I was foolishly thinking, “OK. You have the ESNs (the electronic serial numbers) for both phones. You have the tracking numbers used for each phone. You know the phones were received and you can put the tracking numbers against each. This should be enough to remove the charges from my account.”
Well, I was wrong. Apparently, there is a process that involves a form that has to be filled out. As expected, the young woman, nor her team lead, could tell me when my account would be credited. Nor could neither tell my why two different representatives were not able to follow the correct process to take care of this. Also, as per the team lead, the area that has to handle this is one of those areas that NO ONE in the world can call to contact. So, I am to believe that there is a place in Fort Worth, TX, where people go to work checking in received devices that has no form of communication between it and the rest of Verizon. However, the form somehow can mysteriously make its way there.
So, just for grins, I looked at my account today. The $622.84 is still on my account. I have no way of really following this up. I am just supposed to believe that it’s going to take care of itself. I am livid! This is ridiculous. I am furious that this is what 18 years of being a customer has earned me.

Just purchased song, and itunes has eaten my credit and crashed.

I have just added a gift voucer to my itunes account, I purchased an album, and Itunes downloaded the first three songs, An error message appeared saying the connection had timed out (i have read other posts about this message !) Itunes then hung, I had to force quit the appliction. When I started Itunes again it took me to the store and asked if I wanted to download my album, I said yes,
In my 'purchased' folder I can see the three songs that itunes downloaded but not the other 10 on the album, My account has been debited the full amount for the full album !
When I click to view my purchased itunes network connection times out again,
Will I get the songs that I have paid for ?

I am having the same problem. I just kept hitting the button again if there was an error. Eventually I was able to report my problem. I bet alot of people are having trouble today. It is irritating since I am trying to download over 400 songs.

It doesn't work I've tried different adapters but it still doesn't work.

When it comes to the Lightning to USB connector, after a long while of charging over long periods of time, the cable will tend to get fold lines in it that resemble the looks of a turtle neck. This also comes with age of the charger and use.

Tab Groups has ruined my browser and I can't get it off. I wat to completely lose it.

Ever since I put Firefox 4 on it opens up to the last window I ws at - not my home page - not any reason except the obnoxious Tab Group you added. I drag it to the customize box off the tool bar - no good. Whatever page I was last in it comes up next time I open Firefox as New Tab. I JUST WAT TAB GROUPS UN INSTALLED FROM MY COMPUTER !!! I don't want to customize it , or learn how neat it is, I WANT IT GONE. It does nothing but creat new problems. If need be I'll go back to the Firefox 3.6. Tab Groups should be a option - not something you have to live with. GET ME OUT - PLEASE

App (pinned) tabs and Tab Groups (Panorama) are stored as part of the session data [1] in the file sessionstore.js [2] in the Firefox profile folder [3].
Delete the files sessionstore.js [2] and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder to get rid of the Tab Groups.

My avg tool bar was working on IE and doesn't seem to with FF6

running windows 7 ultimate x32 had been using x64 but was having various problems with compatibility,drivers etc so reformatted my hdd and reinstalled 32 bit version. obviously the first thing i did was reinstall my avg internet security 2011 which has a security toolbar. the next thing i did was dl FF6 and install it. i had to use IE to dl FF6 as this was my default browser. when i opened up IE the avg security toolbar was where it was supposed to be however after installing FF6 and importing everything from IE the toolbar wasn't there. i tried opening the avg interface and refreshing the toolbar app and the software said that it should all be working with any supported browsers but it is not. i know it works with FF cause i have had it on FF4 and 5 don't know if i am just being stupid or what

Wasn't the '''Install Now''' button active?
Sometimes you have to wait for up to 4 seconds for that button to be active - IOW, not greyed-out.
