Verizon Highjacked my 500GB DVR -- down to 22 HD hrs from about 60. Anyone else experiencing this?

I've been on FiOS Triple for over 2 year. My multi-room DVR is QIP7232. Verizon just did an update which I was completely unaware would be occurring. A tech had to come b/c I wasn't able to view recorded shows on a different set top box. Problem resolved. However, the next day I just happened to notice that my multi-room DVR was stating my storage was 97% full. What?!? Just a week ago it was around 60-70% full and nothing new had been recorded.
I have a QIP7232 / A386 / 014 / 500 model. I'm quite certain it has 500GB of storage. Everything I've read online says that should equate to about 60 HD hours. I currently only have 21 HD hours recorded (no SD).
This is ridiculous! They are constantly bombarding me with advertising to "expand" my DVR storage for additional fee. They've just highjacked my 500GB DVR, essentially turning it into a 125GB DVR so that I'll pay more for more storage.
Anyone else experiencing this???

You might try rebooting the STB. This can fix a problem with incorrect disk information, which may be your issue.

Mini DUO slowwwwing down almost daily !!!!! Anyone else experiencing this??

My mini seems to almost get slower by the day especially after it is left to go to sleep for a few hours it is extremely slow starting up again.Settitng it so nothing goes to sleep does not seem to make much difference. I have the stock 512mb of ram and the Core Duo 1.6ghz model with almost no added software at all. So far I have added:
mac the ripper
Limewire
Garagesale
Stuffit
Opera
When I have none of these running it is still very slow and if 2 of them are running at once ie -Safari and Garagesale the response time for opening and closing windows can be up to a minute at times. Any ideas of where I should be looking???

With a nearly 40% page out ratio you a short of RAM which is causing performance issues with your mini. I normally recommend the possibility of RAM upgrades if this ratio gets to 10%. Personally I think with the current requirements of Rosetta with the Intel Macs 1GB is a recommended minimum amount of RAM. For a PowerPCs Mac I always given this as 768MB.
After having restarted (and after launching Safari and getting to this thread) my memory status looks like this…
Wired - 157.27MB
Active - 93.73MB
Inactive - 138.27MB
Used - 388.79MB
Page ins/outs - 14397/0
You might want to look at your memory status after a restart.
With regards to Safari, it's not actually consuming that 200+MB RAM. Well, it is and it isn't. If you take my Safari usage at the moment of 31.11MB (Real Memory/383.38MB (Virtual Memory) it really means that Safari is consuming 31.11MB of my physical (2GB) RAM whereas the 383.38MB is Safari's piece of your swap file (which is shown in total by VM size).
Safari won't actually use that virtual memory unless it has to and this use will be reflected in your page outs. Under optimal conditions it will grab physical RAM when it can and to be honest, 50MB should be more than enough physical RAM for Safari to operate which should be well within your current memory limits. The same goes for Mail.
So if you stick to using Safari and Mail in any particular day you should see few, if any, page outs. Even with your 512MB. I have an iBook with 256MB RAM and it runs fine as I only use it for e-mail and web browsing.
One thing that is a big memory hog is Rosetta. It can consume 200MB+ of physical RAM which can easily throw you into to page out land causing your slow down. Any PowerPC application, no matter how small, will activate Rosetta.
What you need to be really careful is how you quantify your mini's "slowness". Is it a case of it progressively getting slower when you are running a certain set of applications or does it fluctuate in speed depending on the applications you have open?
Personally, I think your problem is simply a lack of RAM in the first place.

Then Restore your iPhone Firmware with iTunes on computer. See if better. If not, talk to Verizon and see if they know of the problem and if there is a fix. If not, then make Genius reservation and take iPhone to Apple for resolution under Warranty.

The website may need more memory than you have available if you are running iOS 5.1.1 on the original iPad. Try some basic troubleshooting steps. Maybe quitting all apps might be the best thing to try.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
Quit ALL apps completely and restart the iPad. Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the task bar will appear with all of your recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar. Restart the iPad.

I have a new iPad 4 from Christmas and suddenly the sound stops. I have to shut down the iPad to restore it. Has anyone else had this problem?

Is it formatted Mac OS Extended (journaled)? If not do so using Disk Utility.
P.S. If you store live fies on an external disk you need to back it up just like data on your internal disk or if and when that disk crashed then, poof, all your music will be gone.
If you do not already have one, purchase an external drive to dedicate to Time Machine backups. Then in the Time Machine exclusions list, remove the image of the music offload disk. Then both your internal and external live drives will be backed up to the Time Machine disk.

Hi, I have purchased I-Tunes match but since doing so, I get to stage three of the transfer of library to I-Cloud which is downloading artwork, extra information etc and as soon as stage 1 and 2 turn into green ticks, a message pops up to advise that I-Tunes has stopped working and closes I-Tunes down! I have managed to get the bulk of my library across to I-Cloud so I can listen to music through my apple TV - However now every time I bring up I-Tunes, the I-Tunes Match recognises that there is still some artwork/songs that need to be transferred and again once gets to this same stage of the transfer process, I-Tunes closes down. Has anyone else experienced this or have any advice on as solution? I have a Sony NS-Series laptop with Windows Vista. Following the closure of I-Tunes, I then get another pop up message advising me that perhaps my current I-Tunes is not the most up to date version and recommends that I download the current version - however my I-Tunes version is currently up to date.

4. Download and install latest version of iTunes

since upgrading to OS lion, my mac book pro (2010 August) keeps freezing (non responsive, requires restart) when i turn on my mac and the system is trying to open apple mail. while apple mail is attempting to collect new mail, the macbook pro freezes. this happens every 2nd time i try to start up my computer. this only started happening after i upgraded to OS lion. please let me know what I need to do to fix this. being forced to restart every 2nd time i turn on my macbook pro has been very frustrating. not sure if apple mail is also the cause of my macbook pro for being very slow during start-up (on the occasion the computer doesn't freeze).

I am having similar 'freezing' problems with many programs (Mail, Safari, iTunes, etc.). I have done a clean install of Lion instead of an upgrade when it came out. Perhaps something went wrong with my install? I'm thinking about wiping and reinstalling.

Thanks so much but none of that helped. It was driving me crazy because it would back up another external drive. I just changed the name of the drive from iPhoto/iTunes Library to Media Libraries and IT WORKED!! I guess for some reason it didn't like the drive being called iPhoto or iTunes ???? I don't understand but I have tried so many solutions and exchanging things out but the name change did it????!!!

Try this:
Go to System Preferences - Bluetooth. Delete the keyboard from the list of devices by pressing the "-" button. Take the batteries out of the keyboard and reinsert them. In Bluetooth Preferences press the '+" button to add the new device. If the keyboard begins to pair, click the word "pair" and type in the passcode. Press return. The keyboard is now paired.
If the mouse is not pairing, try this: shut down the computer completely, unplug any USB mice, then turn off the power to the bluetooth mouse. ONce the computer starts up again, wait for the pop-up looking for a mouse. Turn on the power to the bluetooth mouse. It should work normally now.
