Verizon iphone4s voice message without missed call

Hey guys, I have verizon 64GB black iphone 4s. Sometimes(not all the time) my phone showed +1 mark on voicemail without any sign on missed call. Is that normal? And also, occasionally my friends said when they called me, those calls directly pass to voicemail message. Do I have to change my phone?

If you don't want the missed calls to show in the Messages section go to Phone > Options > Call Logging and set the option "Show These Call Log Types in Message List" to None.

really simple way to fix the somewhat annoying bug in the N8 where it dosent display the missed calls or new messages on the Screensaver
just switch the screensaver mode to MUSIC PLAYER (dont worry it still displays the time but in a smaller font :/)
(Seeting> Themes> general> Screen Saver> Music PLayer)

Spurious Messages saying Missed call from SYSTEM N...

I have had several of these messages over the last few days and think they are a scam does anyone know ir have you had similar messages and how do I check with Skype to see if it is correct?

Beep, in case of new message or missed call???

Is it possible to set a beep sound/any notification sound/ a tone for unread meaasges or missed calls.
I'm using BB 9300.

1. Do I need a special external HDD to use with Time Machine or will all drives work?
Some are better than others I have both G-tech and LaCie external drives. Both are plug and play and both work well on a Mac. You could look at the Apple Store (on-line) reviews. Those are written by users (take that into consideration).
Imagine, I have a backup existing on my external drive and Apple comes up with a new OS/X version and I want to install that new version. What should I do? Is it possible to upgrade to the new OS/X and use the backup on the TimeMachine to restore ONLY the apps and iTunes/iPhoto library or does it also restore the "old" OS?
When a new OS X is released, Apple software will give you an easy method of installing. It is NOT necessary to erase or restore anything. It is ALWAYS a good idea to have a backup (TM is fine) before any software changes.

Retrieving voice messages

I left myself a message to test it. I got the email saying I have a message. I understand I cannot retrieve it on my Surface RT tablet, although for the life of me I do NOT understand the disconnect there between Microsoft and Skype, but fine. I read on in the community that I simply call my own number and I will be prompted to be able to retrieve the messages, but it rings and I am allowed to lovingly leave myself yet a nother message. No options, no choices. I would love for someone to tell me how I can listen to my voice messages without having to download, upgrade or otherwise jumps through a three-ring circus and in a manner that would make a two-year-old seem like Einstein at 50. Somehow I sincerely doubt I will be impressed with the answer. It is astoundingly disappointing that the most basic of features that I am paying for does not work across all platforms.

I do not know if Apple has a 64-bit version of QuickTime. This is the most recent version on their website:

This should install on 64-bit versions of Windows and run fine, but could not be used as a plug in for a 64-bit browser.

Why aren't my contacts showing up in text messages or the call list?

I sync my iphone only with my exchange contacts. It was workng fine until yesterday. My contacts list show up in the contacts app with the correct names, but the text messages and missed calls/voicemail list only shows numbers... not showing contact name. What can I do?

I am having the same issue and it all started after the update I downloaded last night. I have tried calling *288 VRZ support option and afterwars performed a soft boot with no fix. The +1 for USA option is not one I can even imagine doing with over 2000 contacts... There has got to be an easier solution...???

Is it normal, after I get new SMS and missed call I can't see that on my screen.
I use default Screen saver (Big clock and I have to push "middle" button to see notification about SMS/call.
I even don't see clock if i lock phone...

Hello, you could try resetting you mobile by taking the battery out and putting it back in, You should get a flashing light when you have a message or missed call. Normally around the center key.
If you have ongoing problems then take your mobile to the nearest care center to be assesed.

RexRox, I guess it depends on your perspective.
I appreciated that the feature was on by default after the update since it meant that I didn’t have to do anything to start using it. I was also aware of it because, before I updated my device, I took the time to read the information that Apple put on their web site that explained what new features were being introduced with the new OS and I learned how they would affect me. Also, I don’t think Apple is aware of how everyone configures their devices. In your case your devices, as well as your wife’s, share the same Apple IDs for iCloud services. Most people would keep those separate I think.
I understand your motive was to share Calendars and Contacts but you can share editable calendars amongst separate iCloud accounts.

Also, the new Family Sharing feature actually creates a shared Family calendar by default when it is set up.

Contacts, on the other hand, aren’t sharable, would be nice if they were, but it is very easy to send contact cards to another person using share sheets.

After upgrading to 5.0.2, notifications are not shown on lock screen - even missed calls

I have exactly the same problem - but only after connecting my phone via exchange active sync to our companies server.
all lollipop useres except for the sony users don't have this problem.
settings (of all, only non sensitive, no notifications shown) don't make any difference.
My boss contacted someone at support and got some feedback that needed him to reset phone to initial, and "repair" it via companion. Did work for him (Z3), doesn't work for anyone else...

Ringtones:
Highlight the ringtone/s that won't play, menu key properties, see what format it's in, and the size of the file.
If it didn't load correctly it probably is some thing like o-4kb. Basically empty. Second look at the file type
(.mp3 .mp4 etc). Check the chart below to make sure it's compatible with the BB. You can always highlight the item
and delete it.
Screen,
Pull the battery out while the phone is still ON, leave it for a minute,
Replace and let the device reboot 1-3 minutes. See if the message indicator returns.

Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
Try reseating or replacing the SIM card.
Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new).

Thanks for the additional details! Let's get this issue resolved. What software version is the device on? Please reset the Network Settings on the device. Go to settings>general>reset>reset network settings. Please Note: Audio alerts may also indicate delivery of incoming text messages or emails. The tone will vary based on the type of information being delivered to the device. Tones may also indicate low battery charge or inadequate signal strength. Keep me posted with results.

If you lose your phone, will your unread messages, missed calls and contacts transfer

I don't know why it's such a hard question to find the answer to, but I can't figure it out. If you've lost your phone, when you get your number put on a new phone, will the:
Contacts transfer?
Will you have your un-read messages?
Will you see your missed calls?
Will you have your voicemails?
Please, someone help me out here

Will you have your un-read messages? As long as they had not been delivered to your phone yet(for texts). If they had been delivered to your phone but you just hadn't read them, then no. For emails, as long as they have not been deleted from the server.
Will you see your missed calls? Don't really think so.
Will you have your voicemails? Depends on what kind of phone you had and will have. For example an iPhone utilizes a different voicemail system than any other phone(of course it does, its an Apple product) and voicemails will not transfer to/from an iPhone to any other type of device. Any other phone, they should.
Please, someone help me out here
Edit: Verizon only tries to deliver text messages for 5 days. If you have not had a phone active on your line for more than that length of time, you will start to lose some of your "un-read" messages.
