Verizon Message App & Integrated Messaging

Summary of problem: Have 2 phone lines on account. Both phones have their own separate account login user ID and password. Have 2 separate wireless iPads.
Several weeks ago I installed the Verizon Message application on my iPad and everything worked great. I am the account holder. I was so happy to find this application. I then tried to install the application on my wife's iPad and encountered problems. Downloaded the app to iPad, put in second phone line number, belonging to wife who is designated Account Manager, requesting text message authentication. Received texted code and entered in the app. Told app to authenticate and log in. App sends authentication then returns an error. 1st Error message says "Error OK" then second message comes up saying "Disconnected - This device has been disconnected from the Integrated Messaging service. D0 you wish to browse your messages offline or erase all messages from the device and reconnect?
Choices: Browse Offline? Erase & Disconnect? Neither choice gives any result.
Numerous requests both through voice and text ended up with much trouble shooting and finally a first trouble ticket being initiated. This trouble ticket # unknown was closed with no trouble found. Again after numerous texts, chats, and voice contact, another trouble ticket #removed was issued on 12/21/13.This ticket generated several texts with tech's trying to resolve problem and as far as I know the ticket is still open pending resolution. I have been out of town and not heard anything further regarding the status of this ticket. The problem still exists. Have not been able to contact Verizon through chat or voice as they are always busy lately.
Additionally, the second phone line is unable to log into the Integrated Messaging web app in My Verizon using its own user ID and PW. I also downloaded the mobile version of this application to the second phone and experienced the same error messages.
Would like to hear from others who have this problem and any input they may have regarding the issue. I realize that the holidays sidetracked a lot of people, but this is really getting old. Will continue to try to contact tech support.

  • Verizon messaging and integrated messaging

I had the app on my old phone with integrated messaging. When I got a new phone the integrated messaging wasn't working anymore. When I looked at all the stuff I figured out I had to download the messages app to my new phone, so I did. When I did it asked me if I want to use this as my default (on my Verizon phone) I said no and it kicked me out and won't let me go any further. The integrated messaging is still not working. Also when I get it to work I don't want my old messages on my new phone. How do I prevent that? Will they only show up in the Verizon app or will they show up in the factory text app that came with the phone as well?
    Thanks

It integrates automatically supposedly.  Just takes over as the default app and then you can also use the desktop version or any other device with V messages and access across devices.  When you set it up you can go to your registered devices, either on the phone or on the desktop or web app and edit those devices, taking off or removing your old phone.  From this link you can get the android app, desktop app, and access the web app.  Verizon Messages - Verizon Wireless

  • My Verizon iPhone app error message....

Recently, when trying to access schedule or recorded programs on the My Verizon iPhone app, I get the following error:
    Mandatory Field Not Supplied.
Does anyone have an insight on what's causing this and/or what can be done to fix it?
    Thanks i advance.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

In reply to my own post in case it may help someone else with the same issue in the future:
It turned out that the probem was not being able to connect to our DVR STB via the Internet.  Thus the iOS app wouldn't work but neither could I connect to the DVR via a PC browser.   That, in turn, was caused by a glitch that had the Verizon system thinking in error we have a DLink router when an Actiontec model is required for that service.
The system glitch also had on screen caller ID failing to work.
The good news is after trying all the self-help steps available through the IMG I called tech support.  I got through to a live person in Dallas in a reasonable amount of time.  He stayed with me for quite sometime and he was eventually able to correct the system glitch so it knew we have an Actiontec router and the problem was solved.
Pretty good tech support in my humble opinion.

  • How can I upload my old text messages to Integrated Messaging?

I recently started using Verizon Integrated Messaging around a month ago and am now upgrading my phone (that has text messages for the last two years).  Normally I could just take all my texts and send them, Android to Android via Verizon Cloud or a 3rd party program.  However, I'm going to iOS from Android so those options aren't available (for reasons that still elude me...).  In any case, I plan on using Verizon Integrated Messaging on the new iPhone since it seems to be a better option than iMessage.  So, it would be awesome if I could upload all my old text messages to Verizon (which I saved via the Verizon Messaging app via the 'Backup' option), either to the website directly or my iOS device, or even directly from the old phone.  But, that doesn't seem to be possible and I don't understand why - if I can restore old messages in my phone, why can't I restore them to the Verizon server?  Any help would be appreciated - thanks!

As I said previously, "Of course this will not include any messages you had prior to first using Verizon Messages on your old phone."
Verizon Messages will only sync messages which have been sent/received SINCE you first enrolled in it. It will NOT do so for messages from BEFORE.
You could restore older messages to your phone with an app such as SMS Backup & Restore, but they won't be on Verizon's servers to access from other locations such as desktop/laptop/tablet.

  • Message+ app resending messages

Every time I restart or update my phone, the Message+ app resends all my messages. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app several times. My boyfriend has the same phone and app, but his does not do it. It's very annoying since he is the one who gets a lot of the resent messages. Thank you

I can understand how this would be frustrating lindseylemon! I'm sorry about this issue with the messages. Which phone do you have? Which Messaging app? When did this start happening? It could be that there's another app on the phone, (that your boyfriend may not have), that isn't compatible with the phone or messaging app, causing this to happen. However, we need a few more details to see what troubleshooting we need to do to get this corrected. Please elaborate on phone/app details.

When I try to text a new screen appears "Go Beyond Text". Are there additional charges beyond my current plan?If so, how do I opt out and keep current texting plan.

Vze Messages is free.  There is no charge.  It is simply telling you that Vzw Messages does more than the stock app.  Go Beyond with more features.  It's all built in.

  • How do I unsubscribe from Integrated Messaging?

I accidentally signed up for it not realizing what it was(that'll show me). I don't want it because I don't want my messages anywhere but my phone, I'm worried my messages wont come through right and it takes too long to go on My Verizon to delete every message that I get. I saw somewhere on here where it said reply to the text with cancel or stop and you'll get a confirmation text if it works. I tried that but I never got a message. Please tell me there's some way to escape being signed up for it.

  • Integrated Messaging Timeout

I love the new integrated messaging and I use it all the time, but I want to keep it open all day like an IM client, but the session times out all the time. Is there a way to start an integrated messaging session without timing out or a way to extend how long before it logs me out of the session?

  • How to use Message app in iPad with Wi-Fi model

My iPad is wifi model. It does not have cellular in it. Can I send and receive SMS using Message app? Will this app work over wifi?

No. Copied from Apple's website that talks about the Messages App.
*Messages may be sent as SMS when iMessage is unavailable; carrier messaging fees apply.
Carrier messaging rates may apply indicates that you must have a cellular data plan, and therefore you would need an iPad with 3G/4G.
You can use the messages app to send to other iOS users only and Mac users that are running Mountain Lion over WiFi.

  • Why is the Verizon ellipsis 8 not compatible with verizons messaging app

Love to understand why the Verizon texting app is not compatible with the ellipsis 8 ? I bought this Tablet to replace my old Samsung Galaxy tablet that died from over use. I was told this tablet was a very comparable it is not. Texting has to be linked to a smart phone (another purchase) ellipsis has it own number and should support it own texting
What up with this??  As I see it just another marketing ploy

Verizon Messages FAQs | Verizon Wireless
Can I still get messages through Verizon Messages on my tablet if I don t have an Android smartphone?
Yes, as an Integrated Messaging subscriber, you can send and receive messages on your Android tablet, iPhone , iPod touch , iPad , Windows PC desktop or Mac desktop.
Subscribe to Integrated Messaging on the web by signing in to My Verizon from the My Messaging page and clicking "Go to Web App."
Download the app from the app store on your tablet or from the Verizon Messages Overview page for PC and Mac desktop devices.
Read and accept the Terms & Conditions.
Choose a nickname for the tablet.
Enter your phone number and tap Send me a text.
You'll receive a text message on your phone with a security code. Enter on the tablet to add the tablet to your account.
The part about getting the text to a phone for security reasons is the only thing I'm not sure about in your situation, but surely you have a phone and can get a text.  Hope this helps.  Is the tablet added to the account for messaging?
How do I add a tablet to my Verizon Messages account?
To add a tablet to your account:
Download Verizon Messages from the app store on your tablet.
    Read the Terms & Conditions.
    Tap Get Started.
Enter a nickname for the tablet.
Enter your Verizon Wireless mobile phone number.
    Tap Send me a text.
You'll receive a text message on your phone with a security code. Enter the code on the tablet to add the tablet to your account.
You've successfully added a tablet to your account.

  • Using Verizon Messages app on iPad mini: Accessing Verizon contact list

I am a dumbphone Verizon user. I have an extensive contact list in my phone. I use the Verizon Backup Assistant to make sure I don't lose it. I frequently use the browser version of Verizon Messages as some of the smartphones send me text messages containing graphics I cannot see on the dumbphone. This has been working great for me. My dumbphone Contacts pull up nicely. I assume this is pulling from the Backup Assistant database (Verizon Cloud?).
Enter the tablet. I now have an iPad mini. I've installed the Verizon Messages app. The Integrated Messaging is working as expected and I can access messages from all three devices (dumbphone, tablet, PC). However, with the iPad app I am unable to see my Contacts. Is there some form of syncing that I need to initiate between Verizon Messages on the iPad and Verizon Backup Assistant? Does anyone have tips in this area?
I do not sync any contacts to the iPad Contacts. I have so many different contact lists (Gmail, three personal email accounts,  two work email accounts, dumbphone contacts, ...) that I just wouldn't know where to begin. Plus I like having them segregated because there are SO many different people in these lists. I just want to access my dumbphone contacts with the iPad Verizon Messages app.
    Input appreciated. Thank you.

        StFuz,
Lets get those text tones customized to just how you want them! It's going to be easy to get them just how you want them. Please open your Phone app, then select a contact from your All Contacts list. Tap Edit at the top right corner, then scroll down to customize the Text Tone. I apologize, but this is available in the native Message app for the iPhone only. Verizon Messages does not support this feature in iPhones at this time.

  • Integrated Messaging App for Windows

Does anyone in the community know if Verizon is working on bringing an integrated messaging app to Windows Phone, or Windows 8?  I think the service is wonderful, and have been waiting years to have a product like this.  So many times I want to send a URL from my computer to a friend's phone.

I don't know about Integrated Messaging being available on Windows 8... but from your computer (or even any phone) you can use these to send an email and it will arrive as a text message on the recipient's phone.

  • Verizon Integrated Messaging System

Verizon has upgraded its text messaging app to work across platforms:

Texts will be stored on the Verizon cloud for up to 90 days unless deleted by the user. Messages can also be stored indefinitely on an SD card.

This sounds interesting....I installed it on my phone and tablet, and it seems to work on the phone.  All my messages appear and I can send... on the tablet it keeps closing as soon as it loads.  I did report it once, but it won't stay open long enough to do anything.
The tablet is wifi only though, not on Verizon's network.  But it sounded like all I needed to do was link the app to my cell #, and it appeared to do so - I had to enter my phone #, a text with a authorization code was sent to my phone and I entered it on the tablet to set up the app on the tablet.  All was accepted, it was set up, the confirmation message showed up on the tablet, and then it closed with the message "Verizon messages has stopped."  Two buttons - Report & OK .  Hmmmmm...
