Verizon Messages Sent to Phones

When Verizon sends any type of text message to your phone and you have more then one phone in your plan, it will always go to the lowest prefix number. If you, as the administrator of the plan, have a prefix number of 360 and your 10 yr old daughter has a prefix of 301, they will always get the message. Verizon uses an auto dialer that only reads the lowest prefix in a plan and sends the message to that phone. I was told that it can't be changed to the administrator if they don't have the lowest prefix. ANYTHING can be changed!!! This is totally unacceptable. If they can't change this, I can change phone companies.

I think the text message always goes to the primary line in that account. You still have a choice to setup the way you want in My Verizon --> My Profile --> My Preferences --> Email and Text Alert Preferences.

Catch 22 - Trying to get Verizon Messages on my phone in order to text through the wifi

I get no cell reception at my new house. In order to get program activated, a security code is sent via text to the phone. D'oh. Text with activation code will not show up online via Verizon Messages app or through wifi to the phone. Solutions? Do I have to drive half our to town to activate this darn thing? Ugh.

I've experienced many times that I write a text message to a friend's phone using Skype. The message appears as waiting for information about delivery and it's just pending. Then if I take my phone and text the same friend both messages gets delievered and Skype also shows the update in the window that the message is delievered.

Also (to my knowledge), you can't send SMS/text messages from OS X's Message to a non-iPhone, Your iPhone is capable of sending SMS/text messages (non-iPhones) and iMessages.

The reason I asked is I like using Verizon Messages and found out via a chat on your website that with iMessaging, you can't see those messages on Verizon Messages. This phone is for a teen ager so I want to make sure all of the fun things about an iPhone are still intact if I turn off iMessage. r do you know of an Apple product that works the same way as Verizon Messages?

Verizon Messages web app sent messages not showing up on phone app

When I send a message from the Verizon Messages website on my pc the sent message does not sync with my phone (Samsung GS4). I just started using this a few days ago, so it is the latest version. Sent and received messages from my phone show up on my phone and one the website, and sent and received from the website show up on the website, but sent messages from the website don't show up on my phone. Any ideas?

Oh no, I am sorry to hear you are not seeing the messages sent from the web on your phone. Are you looking for the messages on the actual Verizon Messages app? Is the phone properly setup?

My family of four (2 iPhones, 2 iPods) all share the same iTunes account. Many text messages sent to or from mine or my husband's phones are also received on my daughter's iPod, and vice versa. How do I fix this?

This is typically caused by both devices sharing an Apple ID for iMessage and FaceTime. I would recommend signing out of iMessage on your daughter's device. Go to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive, tap your Apple ID, and select Sign Out. Then sign in with the desired Apple ID.

HT5538 All text messages sent to my wife are also coming to my phone. How can we stop this?

My wife's iPhone 4 and my iPhone 4S are both using iOS 6. We also sync to an iMac and a Macbook Pro. My wife updated her phone last night. Then today I received a message on the iMac to provide my e-mail password for iMessage and FaceTime. Since then, any text messages sent to my wife are automatically sent to my iPhone. Even messages I send to her are sent back to me as if I had written them to myself. Messages she gets from other people are sent to me as well. How do we fix this so that messages sent to her go only to her? Also we use a single Apple ID for all our devices--iPhones and Macs, but we have done that for a couple of years, and this problem has not arisen before.

I can confirm it is using the single ID that is causing this issue.
You will need to use multiple ID's however, these can share the same payment ID.

Sure. Go to the conversation that contains the message(s) you wish to forward. Tap the Edit button in the upper right corner. Select the message(s) you wish to forward using the radio buttons. Tap "Forward" at the bottom right of the screen.

Thanks for using our forums! While there are ways to get contacts from your phone onto your tablet, the Convoy series of phones is not capable of syncing directly with the Verizon Messages service. It is capable of using the Backup Assistant service. You'll find this option under Contacts in the menu. Once you have backed up the contacts, you can use your online My Verizon account to export contacts to either a Google or iCloud account, which would allow you to access them from your iPad at a later time via sync. Here's a link with some useful information on how to use the Backup Assistant service.

When I go to 'findmyphone' from iPad it says 'location services disabled' but I know I did not disable it bc I intentially like to have the option to locatevit since my kids are sticky fingered and snag it when I'm not looking a lot. I've tried sending messages to it and dinging it but i can't hear it ( Im guessing bc it's off) but it does says messages sent. Does that mean it is on and connected to the network? ? I would have thought if it were off then, it would say phone is off; not connected to wifi etc message cannot be sent...trying to decide if someone (like cleaning lady) might have snagged it or if I keep sending messages to a dead phone that no one is getting? As far as the prices, the difference is likely the laptop version is the SD version and the iPad one is available in HD. That's the only reason you'll see a price difference. It has nothing to do with the device with movies/movie rentals. Apps yes, these no.

I know it's beneficial to be able to check your message content ArmyQueer. Verizon messages offers a wide variety of convenient options to manage messaging. What make and model device is this? When did you download the application on it? Please be aware you will only be able to see content after the app had been downloaded and installed.
