Verizon might not release Razr HD Maxx after all

Found this on UnWired View.com
http://www.unwiredview.com/2012/08/15/verizon-might-not-launch-a-motorola-droid-razr-hd-maxx-at-all/
I think with the new radios that require less power to work this should not be a problem.
Now we just have to hope they launch the Razr HD soon.
Latest I saw was an October/November release.

The issue with KitKat is how Bluetooth is handled. From Motorola "The RF Comm channel has changed in Kitkat that updates the Bluetooth stack from BlueZ to BlueDroid. Some models of car kits do not do the usual service discovery process for a phone which is already paired. Instead, the car assumes there will not be a change of this sort on the phone. Therefore, it will not allow the auto reconnection. Removing the phone from the car and re-pairing using the above procedure will solve this issue.". The basic issue can exist for any Bluetooth device that you've previously paired with.
I had very choppy audio problems with both my Bose speaker and Jabra Cruiser speakerphone. You will at minimum have to delete all your previous Bluetooth pairings and renew them to correct any issues. My RAZR MAXX HD required also to do a soft reset (power + vol. down) after deleting one of the pairings a second time to try and correct the issue for the Jabra. Both my Bose and Jabra are perfect now, even with WiFi enabled and streaming audio through WiFi. Choppy audio issue totally fixed.
The install of KitKat should have been setup to delete all the old pairings, then nobody would have run into this problem when they updated to KitKat.

  • Very frustrated that Verizon has not release Windows 8.1 for the Lumia Icon.  When will it be released?  Early 2015 is not an acceptable answer.

As I'm certain many others who bought this phone are, I am increasingly irritated that Verizon has not released the Windows 8.1 update.
When will it be release?  Early 2015 is not an acceptable answer.

"Early 2015" is the best answer you are going to get. I suggest that it is less stressful to accept what is rather than reject it. Taking the stance of "not acceptable" for something like this does nothing but disturb your peace of mind.
Really though, to me it is very good news in the sense that we now know we WILL eventually be getting 8.1, Cyan, and Denim. Verizon has made no official statement at all about this. Now we have Joe Belfiore specifically telling us MS is working with Verizon to get the update out and it will come for the ICON. Not as informative as we would like, but much better than what we had before!

  • Space is not released from tablespaces even after purging recycbin

    Hi,
I had 168GB of space occupied by recyclebin objects (BIN$...) when i queried on dba_segments, after purging the recyclebin it is showing 0.
But i didn't find any difference in the free space dba_free_space in tablespaces before and after purging.
Is it the thing that even after purging recycbin, it is not released the space for respective Tablespaces?
Also wanted to know how to release the space.
    Thanks,
    Mahi

If you have a table X, with segments in tablespace TS, and you drop the table, you now have a recycle bin object BIN$X that owns those same segments in that same tablespace TS. That's why the segments still appear in DBA_SEGMENTS. But Oracle knows that it is free to reuse the segments associated with BIN$X if it runs out of other space to use (and Oracle knows to reuse segments from recycle bin objects in the order they were dropped) so the segments are free in DBA_FREE_SPACE. Just like deleting a file on the file system is just updating a pointer to some sort of file allocation table but not actually removing the bits from the hard drive, dropping an object when the recycle bin is just marking the segments as no longer associated with a real object.
I have no idea whether 11g has changes to recover index names-- you might take a look at the 11g documentation (either the New Features guide or the Flashback Drop docs).

  • TimesTen not releasing shared memory even after DB destroy

    Hi,
After TimesTen DB is destroyed, the shared memory allocated to DB is not getting released by system.
We are using TimesTen Release 11.2.1.7.0 (64 bit Linux/x86_64)
We need to do a system reboot for clearing the shared memory (stale) usage by TimesTen.
Please let me know what is the issue here.
    Regards
    Pratheej

    Hi Pratheej,
How are you actually destroying TimesTen? are you using ttDestroy? It looks like you maybe forcing a shutdown of the TT master daemon? In which case current connections won't be aware the master daemon has gone until they next try to access TT in the meantime they can keep the shared memory segment in-memory.
Take a look at ttStatus to see what connections are open. Disconnect them all by default TT will then come out of memory then you can use ttDestroy.

  • PO approval Email not visible in SOST even after all settings intact

    Hello All,
The 'PO requiring approval ' email is not visible in SAP since 10.11.2010.
The user decision task which sends a notification to approver regarding the approval has been going successfully for two yrs and now suddenly since 10 Nov 2010, it stopped. The workflow log does not show any error. Also the settings in SWN_CONFIG have not changed since 2008. The approvers have their correct email Ids set in SU01. Even the jobs 'SWNSELSEN' and 'SAPCONNECT' are scheduled and running successfully and sending emails for all other sap notifications.
Suddenly they have stopped sending notifications for this particular issue.
Please help me, where to look for. Are there any services involved other than these settings.
    Awaiting eagerly for the solution.
    Neha

    Hi Neha,
How you are sending mails for dialog workitem?
Are you using the email send step inside the workflow or you using the batchjob to send the mails (send task description as mail via batchjob).
Id using the batchjob check the that task is present in the selection criteria.
(report to send mail is RSWUWFML)

  • How can I stop a purchase download so that I do not get charged as I do not want the TV episode after all?

    Mac OS X Lion 10.7.1
    iTunes 10.4.1
I thought I was going to see information about a TV episode. I was wrong. iTunes started downloading it. I have paused it but can not find any way to cancel download so that I will not be charged for it. I never saw any prommpt asking me if I was sure I wanted to purchase it. Solution appreciated.

Stopping the download will not stop the charge.  It was purchased the moment you clicked buy.  You will be charged if you donwload it or not.
Let it download.  You can then delete it if you like.

  • Optical drive not recognized in system profile after hardware rebuild

This is an old MacBook Pro. Apple call it vintage.
Logic board died, so rather than consign it being a doorstop, I took out the logic board and "cooked" it to reflow the solder. It actually worked!
Just prior to this and just before the logic board completely bit the dust I'd inserted a DVD into the optical drive, where it sat and didn't read, wasn't recognized etc. I was trying to drop back down in OS as Lion was too resource hungry for the old machine, so it was an OS install disk. Panther I think?
So now I've got the logic board working, but I cannot remove the DVD. I tried all the tricks, including Terminal etc. On checking System Profile I noticed that the optical drive isn't even listed now. So my question is, is it possible I missed a connection etc when rebuilding the MBP after replacing the logic board? If so, thoughts on where I should look? Is there a way to "force" the OS to find the optical drive? Any thoughts on what to do?
I can't pull the optical drive as one of the screws is completely stripped and honestly, not sure if the laptop is even worth the cost of a replacement drive anyway.

Ok, that's it. I read a few posts in the "...SuperDrive won't accept my CD.." section. and it seems some people are just swapping optical drives like mad, ready to accept that the kit is crap, and "...oh, well, I sure hope this one works better...".
But one guy had the brains to have a look inside. Turns out dust had accumulated in the drive and on the connectors, and when he cleaned them, and unplugged and replugged them, it worked fine. So that's what I did. Took it out and put it back in. Amazing the stuff I cleared out! I also un- and re-plugged the power cable and the data ribbon at the mutha board and bingo!. We have disk, and I can breathe again.
Recommend to others they pretend they've bought a new drive, do a remove and reinstall and be very fastidious. You may not need a new one after all. I just love it that stuff can still be FIXED!
Thanks to Lou and all of you who share your experiences. It's like my brain is suddenly soooo huge...

  • Why BIA is not stable after all these years? (old)

    Hi all,
We purchased BIA (16GB blades) in 2006, implemented to our production in 2007 with Version 34.
It was a success; the first month BIA was hit 18K times. Today we are seeing about 300K hit a month (we're using 32GB blades with version 49. ). I can assure you that it was(and is)not a plug and play appliance, we have experienced every single BIA error existed on earth. Don't get me wrong; when it works it's an awesome product, I believe in BIA and support it 150%, this is why i am here spending my time.
3 weeks back, we upgraded BIA from Ver 48 to 49. After a week of quiet time, one of my blades went down for no appearent reason, that not only caused an outage for thousands of internal and external customers but wiped out the confidence that I have with the new version 49.
Today, I am "once again" sending apology emails to my users, customers, my boss, CIO etc about the BIA outage. Forget about preventing this to happen in the first place, but I don't understand why it is so hard for you SAP guys to identify the query that crushed the blade(s). I assume your priority is making BIA fancier - such as working on back-up and recovery - instead of making it stable, or at least more monitorable
It is very, very, very frustrating that after all these years that this tool is still not stable, in other words after all the feedback we gave to SAP, after all the times we spent together, we are back to the square one. Think about , would you be keep investigating to a car that keep stopping in the middle of rush hour traffic? So why should you pay hundreds of thousands of dollars for a product that goes down every day?
Anyways, let me know if you know a way to find out what particular query brings down BIA without leaving the trace on 24x7 for days.
    Cheers

    Tansu,
if you go to Usage -> Acess Statistics in TREXAdmin (Python), not all the columns are populated by default (at least in our case)
    Like #unloads, #reads, waittime, #merges, # writes, #plans, input/output, # FEMS among others.
To collect this data, you have to activate additional level of stats.
Go to indexserver.ini for your masterblade. default is set to No. Change it to yes.
    [indexusagecollector]
    #active = no
    active = yes
Unfortunately, there is no documentation available on what each of these values truly represent. So you are left on your own to interpret them as you like.
A discussion in this forum on how you read these numbers would be helpful though.
    BIA Stability:
To sum up: BIA has the notion "It rocks when it works" in our company.
    Some of biggest issues:
    1. There are queries failing that BI team doesn't know about unless users report to us. But users have stopped reporting BIA related failures to us because same query completes successfully after 5 mins (when the temporary memory goes down again). so our users just rerun the quey after sometime rather than reporting it to us. Bottomline -  BIA is NOT up 100%. we only know if a query has failed if we go thru the trace files.
    2. As Arun mentioned, we too have some queries that dont work at all with BIA due to huge dataset sent back to OLAP. Eventually we had to turn off BIA for those queries.
    3. It takes too long for back up to take over. In our case it took 75 mins before back up took over.
we would rather prefer to set a threshold ourselves on when back up should kick in rather than waiting for active blade to go completely down. Unless its a hardware failure (chances of which are pretty slim), back up would always wait for active blade to go completely down. what if an acitve blade is in hung state?
[Re: Automated Failover - can we force backup blade to take over?] discussed here
    4. We dont know which query brings BIA down. (that what we are tyring to figure out using the stats mentioned above.)
    4. Inverted Data model - we have some cubes which have master data tables bigger than fact tables.
For some, BIA works. For others, aggregates are more effecient. we are still not able to figure out, whats the difference?
[How to relate STEPUID/DMUID in RSDDSTAT_DM to STATUID in RSDDSTATTREXSERV; discussed here
Lets see how Rev 50 addresses our issues.

    Hello,
Yes space wont be released immediately .If large extents are in picture which I assume is your case it goes into deferred drop a background process which will execute after some time( time may vary).See below link for details.
As per BOL if extents are more than 128 it goes in deferred drop.
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms177495.aspx
You should wait for some time .keep checking the free space
Below discussion will surely help you in understanding.See Jonathan's reply

  • Regarding space not released after rm commend on root

    hello guys
actually i am facing an unexpected problem
i have a folder /archivelog which is mounted on ocfs.daily i used to store my export file here. But yesterday i started taking exp from one terminal with file=28june.dmp and after starting it removed previous day export from other terminal with file=27june.dmp.
But i have seen something different.
i fired rm -rf 27june.dmp it returned the root prompt immediately though daily to remove a 60 gb file it taken 30-40 seconds.
also it didn't released the spcae from /archivelog and also removed the file
means its not listing the file and also the space is not released ...i also fired command updatedb..but still the space is not released.
hoe could this be possible..anyone has any idea so kindly tell

There is a bug with ocfs2 if you delete archive logs manually some time will not freee the space which is used. So for future to avoid this case use rman to delete archive logs.
now to free space need ocfs2 partition to delete and create again with ocfs2. becarefull with this.
    Thanks,

  • Open viewsets not released after report closed

I create one data object "process" with layout like:
    process_id string
    company_id string
    user_id string
then i create a report with only one bar chart view,
edit bar chart add data object "process", leave group by as null, chart value = process_id, summary function = count. add fitler by company_id = report parameter1
edit bar chart, add data object "process" again, leave group by as null, chart value = process_id, summary function = count. add fitler by user_id = report parameter2.
    save this report
view this report. then in em, i can see it open two viewsets: one Shared viewset and one Inherited viewset.
close this report, then in em, found there is no Shared viewset and Inherited viewset . but has one new Unshared viewset , and this viewset not released unless i restart BAM

    Vissharm,
This issue still happened on my system.
I can understand why there was two independent Viewsets, my concern is why still one open viewset after report closed.

  • [Not solved][Sudo/X] Enter key not released after typing password

After upgrade to xserver 1.16 I noticed strange thing - any command I try to run with sudo "hangs" keyboard and mouse. It looks like after typing password and pressing <Enter>, this key is not released.
System is still responsive, for example I can watch youtube, listen to music, there is no high cpu usage, but inputs are blocked.
    For example:
    sudoedit /etc/whateverrc
opens editor and cursor goes down.
This is not a problem with my keyboard
    In tty sudo works fine.

    AwesomeWM, quite old setup.
    What is in your journal/logs?
After "hang" X still works, so I need to kill it (alt+sysrq+re) or reboot.

  • After Effects 2014 not releasing memory

    Reposting this issue...
The latest AE does not release RAM on Yosemite. Have installed Memory Freer app which does release it, but this is a little annoying and an issue from an older version I thought was fixed?
We are on Mac Pro 5,1, 32gb RAM.

What is the state of the Reduce Cache Size When System Is Low On Memory preference?
See this page for details of that preference:

  • Plugin to import Aperture librairies does not release the memory used by the librairy after the import is completed

Let suppose I import a 30GB Aperture Library into LR which is on my HD. After the importation, if I send the imported library to the Trash and clear the Trash the disk space is not released by LR. So after a few importations I get the message that I do not have enough space on my HD to copy another library on the HD from an external drive which contains many Aperture libraries.

Casita17,  I recommend you evaluate ssprengel's questions and advice.  Please read the following below, as we don't want you to lose images!  I fear that you may be using a "referenced" library in Aperture, and this is the reason your disk space is not being released.  I would NOT RECOMMEND breaking your library into pieces for now.   You may very likely lose critical linkages, especially in albums.  If you have a number of Aperture libraries to begin with, then never mind.  Just be aware, Lightroom users generally recommend using only one lightroom catalog, which it sounds like you're doing.
Lets forget your system drive for now.  Do you have two times the disk space on your photos drive?  If not, do you have another drive laying around with as much space?  I recommend you make a backup before you continue.
I'm not quite sure what approach your are using, but I think the root cause of your dilemma exists because of how Aperture and Lightroom manage and store your images.  It may help to post what actions you take, step by step, and include the error messages.
You may already know some of these concepts, but lets leave no stone unturned.
First, Aperture uses "libraries", which contain all metadata and previews.  These images may be stored within the database (managed images), outside the database (referenced images), or a combination.  Can you apply a filter to your all photos selection, and tell us how many managed and references images you have?
Please read this for a better explanation:
    http://www.lifeafterphotoshop.com/managed-vs-referenced-files-in-aperture/
Second, Lightroom's catalog is like an Aperture library.  Only ALL images are stored externally, "referenced" in Aperture parlance.
You should be able to create the Lightroom Catalog on any drive.  However, where you eventually store your images depends on what options you choose in the plugin when importing these images.
Any "managed" photos in Aperture WILL BE copied to the location you specify in the plugin.  Any "referenced" files MAY OR MAY NOT BE copied to the location.  They may be copied, or they they may remain in place, depending what options you select in the plugin.
Not sure I follow where you have your aperture library, images, and where you eventually want to store your Lightroom catalog, and where you want to store your lightroom images.  I'd suggest not breaking up your Aperture library.
If you are short on disk space, I suggest making a backup.  Then, select all photos and change them from managed to referenced, which will relocate the photos from within the library, to outside the library, preferably on the same drive.  Then, create a Lightroom catalog, wherever you have room.
Run the plugin and choose the option NOT to copy the files.  This way, it will leave them in place on your photo drive.  Some images may be copied to the lightroom masters destination any way, so you may want to choose another location on your photo drive in the plugin import options anyway.
When the migration finishes, you can delete the Aperture library, which will not remove all that much, and will not make much more space available.  And do NOT delete the image location you designated in Aperture, because you'll now be using it for Lightroom.  But this way, you'll be able to keep your space usage under control.
But KEEP your backup, even after the migration, JUST IN CASE!
