Verizon Mobile vs Verizon on computer (community)

Why is it I cannot use my computer ID/PW with the Mobile Web app of Verizon Wireless?  When I go into the app and click on forums, click on sign in, use my computer screen name and password, it says invalid name/pw.  Anybody else have the problem or know how to fix it.

Hey all;  Talked to the tech department.  Not being able to sign in from the Mobile app to the forum they said is a known issue with 4G phones. The IT department told Daryl (tech) to file a ticket with NVR.  Hopefully they'll have a fix for this in future updates.  Just so everyone knows

  • Managing the Mobility preference at the computer list level

    Hi,
I'd like to get a confirm about my understanding of the role of the Mobility preference in computer lists.
Since the Mobility preference could be managed at the computer list level, it has effect both on the clients' local and network accounts. I tried to manage the preference for a computer list that contains clients with only local accounts and set it to "Synchronize account for offline use".
I saw no effect on clients' local account, but I think this is expected because portable home directories requires a network home folder to be set, and obviously local accounts cannot have it set.
    Could anyone confirm?
If the above reasoning is correct, the only point of managing the Mobility preference at the computer lists level is to allow or disallow network users with network home folders to create mobile accounts on specific computers.
    Am I right?
    TIA.

however when I try to sync my older ipod with it and upload some new music to it, Itunes keeps telling me that all the previous songs will be erased
Yes, that's correct. If you don't have the songs that are currently on your iPod also in your new iTunes installation, they will be erased from the iPod if you sync it. Best to start afresh by first transferring all the music on your iPod back to your new computer/iTunes library.
For iTunes version 7 or later, then you can transfer purchased iTunes store music from the iPod to an authorized computer by using the "file/transfer purchases from iPod" menu. Note that the maximum of 5 authorized computers applies here.
Find out how to do that here.
How to copy iTunes purchases from an iPod or iPhone to a computer.
For all other non purchased content (your own CDs etc), check out the instructions/suggestions here.
Music from iPod to computer (using option 2). This a manual method using "hidden folders" and although it works, it is a little more involved than other methods.
Much easier ways are to use one of the many 3rd party programs that copy music from the iPod to the computer.
One of the most recommended is Yamipod. This is a free program that transfers music from iPod back to the computer. However, it does not transfer playcounts/ratings etc.
Other free programs are Pod Player, SharePod and Floola.
If you want to recover just the structure of playlists from the iPod (and not the actual song files themselves), there's iRepo for Windows. which I understand has this feature along with all the standard features for these programs.
iPodRip also has the feature enabling you to reconstruct playlists.
There is also CopyTrans. This does preserve ratings/playcounts etc if those are important to you but this program is not free. It also supports video transfer.
Once all the music is safely back in your new iTunes library, you can sync your iPod as normal.

  • Best way for a Student going on a Trip to Spain who has verizon to have communication back to the USA

So I have a young Student that next summer will be taking a school trip to Spain.
Starting to thinking ahead on keeping communications with them.
Right now I have a Friends and Family with my phone Unlimited Data.
Their Phone is Basic with no Data. I have no reason to change to the new plan. I will not pay more for less.
I am trying to figure out the best thing to do for them.
Whether rent a phone for overseas.
for the 2 weeks they are there change them over to one of my Spare Androids with GSM and  and put a smartphone Data plan on that number for a month then change them back after they come home.
I am looking to see the pros and cons of doing this and weigh my costs.
If I give them an international capable smartphone for the month what would overseas charges be for Data and Voice? Can you get an international package for the time they are over there or would it be a "roaming" pay as you go type deal with expensive charges for roaming international?
Or second is do I just let them use public wifi on a smartphone that is international capable with them knowing that they are to use Data and voice only in an emergency? or just leave them with their Ipad and wifi?
    Thank You
    Michael

It's great to look ahead to the possibilities, Shutech. I love to be prepared! You actually have a fantastic idea to change their line to a global capable phone for the time they're in Spain. You don't need to change the plan for any other lines on the account and can simply add a smartphone with global voice and data capabilities for the few weeks it'll be used in Spain, then reactivate the basic phone and plan when they've returned. Activating devices is easy at http://vz.to/186e0Pr.
Prices for voice and data service while traveling is always updated at www.vzw.com/global. If you chose to add a global capable smartphone, it will need a data plan active since it's a smartphone, but you can chose to have the user turn off mobile data and simply use WiFi to conserve global roaming costs. If you visit www.vzw.com/support and type the model phone along with the words "mobile data" you can find the easy steps how to do this. This would leave the phone's ability to send and receive calls and text messages.
We're here for you if you have any further questions. I hope your student has a fantastic trip!
    Thank you

  • Mobile me: problem syncing/ computer idenity issue?/ ical

    hi,
so about 2 months or go my computer (a macbook pro 2.8 ghz) would tell me that the password for mobile me was incorrect, when it wasn't. i could keep getting mail (my .me account) but the sync system kept telling me the password was not correct. so, the only way to sync was to plug my phone (3gs) into my computer.
then i get an email (about a week ago) that i need to update my mobile me calendar, so i do. then my calendar has the -on my mac, and now - my mobileme account. so now i have duplicates of everything! since both (the on my mac, and my .me) are the same.
i go ahead and delete the .me account from my ical since i don't want 2 copies of everything.
so then i again try to sync my phone with out it plugged in. i get a message that tells me (basically, b/c i cant remember it) that this .me account is already associated to a computer named 'my computer's name'. i have one laptop, that i have had for 2 years now. my phone has not been synced to another computer ever. it told me i should rename the computer, but i know the computer it is talking about, and it is the only one i am on. so i decide to tell it to ignore it, or whatever word it actually said. it tells me some information might get lost, but i know there is only 1 computer. i almost feel like my computer is having split personality disorder right now, confusing itself with another.
so now i still can't sync. the last window is such, "you are nw syncing some of your information with mobile me for the first time." (what, no im not. i always sync.) "to avoid losing this information on your computer, merge the information on your computer with the information on mobileme." the options are then, merge information, replace information on this computer, or replace information on mobileme.
i don't know what to choose. i have a fear that if i merge i will again get everything. 2 sets of contacts, 2 sets of calendars, etc. i don't know which of the other 2 to choose since i don't know which one it is considering a master.
i'm just lost. i really want to bring it in for mac support. is that possible? or can someone please help.
    thanks so much.

    Roger,
thank you so much.  That seems to have completely corrected the problem.  At least, it's not erasing it on my laptop.  I'll have to check it tomorrow morning on the desktop, but it looks like this was a complete win.
    Thank you so much!

  • Connecting up a mobile phone to a computer (via bluetooth?)

    Hi,
I'm looking for the best way to connect up a mobile phone to a nearby computer (wirelessly) so that they are able to communicate with each other.
Would bluetooth be the best way?
Would it be as simple as buying a bluetooth dongle for the computer, and writing a java application on the computer which accepts connections, and then writing a j2me application for the phone which connects to the computer? How would you find out what address the mobile phone needed to connect to?
Also, is there a better way of doing this without the need for a j2me application on the phone, such as a phones built in web browser? If I did this how would the computer be able to send information over to the phone telling it what to display? Would it be a case of creating an index.html on the computer and the phone would be able to display that?
    Thanks for the help

{color:#000080}Bluetooth looks good for your purpose. At the phone end, you would need a MIDlet to access an inbuilt bluetooth serial port using the btspp: protocol. At the PC end, your software will connect to the serial port corresponding to your bluetooth dongle. The two can communicate using a client-server relationship.
That is, of course, the bare-bones outline of quite a lot of stuff. Device pairing has to be done manually, since there is no method to do this in j2me. On many handsets, BT has to be launched before running a MIDlet that requires its services. All bluetooth dongles are not created equal, neither are all bluetooth managers. So you will have to deal with a number of specifics as you progress. I am not sure on this, but I think there are a few phone models that do have bluetooth but no serial port profile, so that's another point to check out.
AFAIK, the browser on a mobile phone cannot open local files nor access content via bluetooth -- html pages can only be viewed via the internet.
    You will need to use the javax.bluetooth and, possibly, javax.obex packages.{color}

  • HT1926 apple mobile device erro on computer

    hi
i have been using itunes on my computer for over 5 years.
i went to update itunes this morning and since then problems.
i get an apple message; apple mobile device failled to start, verify sufficient priveleges.
and on my computer now i get message; apsdaemon.exe error - msvcs80.dll
i cant open itunes at all and it wont let me reinstall.  i uninstalled and everything.
maybe i should mentione that while doing the update i unplugged my iphone while doing so.
i tried reinstalling itunes with and without phone plugged in but still same problem
    help please

I've exactly the same problem on one of two almost identical Win8.1 64bit computers.
First tried to just update an existing installation of iTunes
Update failed, so I did "Download only" and tried to install in a separate step.
It failed with a missing DLL error.
Uninstalled iTunes completely and tried to install from scratch.
It fails with "Service 'Apple Mobile Device' (Apple Mobile Device) failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services."
I tried to run installer explicitely with Admin privilegies but still no success.
I tried to manually start the service from TaskManager but this fails too.
    Any idea?

  • Revice mobile calls with the computer

    hi
i wonder if its possible to use the computer as "headset"?
most of my work is with computer. all of my landline calls are forwarded to my computer, so i can use a cable mic & earset for the calls.
i saw that nokia pc suite is able to make and recive calls, but unfortunally, i still have to hold the phone on my hand.
is it possible to deliver the voice over BT or cable, so the computer will be as  headset?
    ps
i thought about emulating my pc, but its only for linux.
    pps
the problem increece, becouse i have 3 different cellphones and 3 landlines. its hard (and annoying) to swich between them all the time. as writen above, i solved this problem with landlines, but as for mobiles, i hope you can help.
    thanks
    idan

I think I've done it. Use BT to pair your phone and the PC. Then it'll be fairly simple. Don't remember how exactly I did it on my friend's Dell XPS. But I do remember doing it. First I channeled the audio from the phone to the PC - ie., listening to music from my phone thru the laptop speakers. I got a call, and I was talking thru the laptop mic. It was running Win 7 Ultimate, and the phone was an N73-ME.
    It's worth a try...
