Verizon No Longer Offers NBC Live Extra

Verizon used to be a provider that offered NBC Live Extra so we could stream NBC, NBC Sports, and Golf Channel events like the Olympics, Notre Dame Football, PGA Tour, and NHL games on NBC Sports' website and the NBC Live Extra app (similar to WatchESPN). Now it looks like Verizon is no longer listed under the list of providers that offer live streaming. Why did Verizon take this away? Please get it working again!

That would be understandable if Verizon never offered NBC Live Extra in the first place but they did. They offered it not only during the Olympics but also during Notre Dame football season. Now all the sudden Golf and NHL are coming back and they don't offer it anymore...

Hi, I have a macbook pro with mountain lion, safari v6.0 and google chrome v21.0.1180.57.
I cannot watch live stream on nbc live extra in safari, it gave me a black screen, however, I copy the same link and paste in chrome I could watch the live stream with no problem. I checked several threads but still didn't work out.
Can some one tell me why and how to make it work?

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It won’t solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of this exercise is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account. Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. For instructions, launch the System Preferences application, select Help from the menu bar, and enter “Set up a guest account” (without the quotes) in the search box. Don't use the Safari-only "Guest User" login created by "Find My Mac."
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your personal files or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem(s)?
After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
*Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault in OS X 10.7 or later, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The "Guest User" login created by "Find My Mac" is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.

WatchESPN and NBC live extra can't verify Verizon TV subscriber

I tried on windows laptop, macbook, android and iphone. My username and password are valid-- I can log into the Verizon TV site wirh these credentials and I get these channels with my TV package. So, two different content providers with exactly the same access issue and 4 different access methods (native apps on 2 mobile devices, also 2 different browsers on windows and os x). The common problem seems to be Verizon. Sounds like the Verizon server is broken / too busy???

Works for me just fine on my Android.
Has it worked before?
If not, you have to make sure you are using the primary email account for accessing the app.
Or the email you are using must be enabled to allow access (if memory serves correctly).

NBC Sports Extra Live fails

Hello,
I am subscribed to FIOS with TV programming plan that should enable me to watch NBC Sports Live Extra online. Last time I did it was last year. Worked OK.
Today I attempted using it and got into an endless loop that looks like failure to recognize my login (I am doing this from home on FIOS Internet connection). There is no issue with my username/password as I can login to MyVerizon properly. Also, if I intentionally enter wrong username or password to NBC site it properly fails with proper error message. However, when I attempt to login with proper username and password, site just goes back to the login page and does not allow me to watch content, no error message.
Checked NBC FAQ and all should be well (latest supported browser, Firefox and Flash version, confirmed finctional; cleared cookies and cache, restarted browser and PC; all cookie and other browser settings set as they require and all add-ons disabled).
There is no support contact on NBC site and , anyway I am paying for this feature to Verizon... What is the problem? How to solve it?

Just posted about this for HBO. I tried this for NBC SPORTS and hit the Problem UNLESS I FIRST SIGNED OUT of Verizon website.

A bunch of things lead to problems loging into HBO GO and many other Online Channel sites.
You must get HBO (or whatever channel you are trying to use) from Verizon
At least the first time you may first have to sign out of the Verizon site. It gets confused easily.
You must allow third party cookies
You must be running Flash, Flash must be allowed to store info for third parties.
You must not have your Browser options set to delete Information when exiting Browser. Flash takes this as deleting information when exiting a site.
The general way it works is for you to go to HBO GO site. Ask to look at something and it switches in a FRAME pointing to VERIZON and you signin. Verizon stores some information in flash and returns. That information must still be there so that HBO accepts you as authorized

NBC Sports Live Extra sign in issue

Hello,
I have a login issue with the NBC Sports Live Extra app on my ipad.
I tried to watch Stanley Cup playoff games. After signing in with my Verizon login I got an error message saying that I could not get access to the content because subsription to the Golf channel was required. I don't have the Golf channel, my TV package is Prime HD but it does have the NBC Sports network which broadcast the NHL.
Has anyone else the same issue?

I am continously having this same issue. Everything works fine on the website, so it isn't a credentailing issue.

NBC Sports Live Extra Error

I recently acquired a Nexus 7 and downloaded the NBC Sports Live Extra Android app to watch soccer games. After inputing my Fios credentials I was able to watch replay content, but live events generate a "User Not Authorized Error" after trying to authenticate. I changed my password and uninstalled/reinstalled the app, but the error persists. I am able to watch live games on the computer and on my old iPad, so I am certain my account is authorized. Thoughts/suggestions?

Essentially this app is crap.
The last time I was able to stream any EPL games consistently was last August when I first switched to verizon. For the past 3-4 months it just give that stupid user not authorised error no matter if I am on home wifi or outside.
Somehow I was able to catch the Manchester United game vs. Norwich yesterday (a miracle) but it stopped working again today.
Verizon Customer Service Has Been helpful and patient but nothing has been fixed.
Don't hold your breath on this one.

NBC Sports Live Extra app requires Golf Extra?

I'm trying to use my iPad to access NBC Sports' coverage of English Premier League soccer, and I have Verizon (and can access this content on my computer). The app, when I try to log in through Verizon, says I need to subscribe to Golf Extra. This can't be accurate. Emails to NBC support have gone unanswered. I have tried restarting and reinstalling the app.

I can view NBC sports extra (premier league games) on a PC, but not on my iphone or android app. Every time i try to log on through the apps it says I need to be subscribed to the golf channel to watch golf (higher packages than Prime HD to which I'm subscribed). So, I touch the game i want to watch, it asks me to log in, then says because i'm not subscribed to a higher package that has golf, i can't use the app to watch soccer.
Is that the way this is intended to work? I don't want to watch golf, and my understanding is that you can stream through NBC Sports Live extra if you subscribe to NBC sports, which I do. Did Verizon split the baby on this one, essentially forcing you to subscribe to a package with golf to get what you should already be entitled to? Is this just an app problem that will clear itself up?
Anyone else seeing this issue?

I am watching NBC sports right now. ManU vs Stoke and saw the advertisement about nbc sports live extra and it's ability to let you watch live on ur iPad. I downloaded the app and got his msg:
To watch videos, you will need to subscribe to FiOS TV with NBCSPORTS
How is that so when I am watching it on the TV at this moment?

I found out what to do. Verizon Live Chat's agent told me to uninstall and reinstall the NBC Sports Live Extra app on my iPad. I did that. When I did, I found that it still remembered that Verizon FiOS is my TV provider, so I didn't have to sign back in. And live feeds now work!

Get onto the integrated iOS + Mac OS and end support for "legacy" Mac 10.8 and earlier.
Force older hardware users like me to upgrade to new hardware which is where $$ are.
Make apps work across tablets, phone, and computer with similar (though not the "same" app, but able to read and use the same file format).
Simplify.
I don't think anyone incl. Microsoft knew Windows 8.1 was going to be a free upgrade, I didn't and read that it would be more like $30.
No OS is ready for everyone on the day it is launched. iOS 7 is now 7.04 and climbing, Mac OS tends to really not be ready until the last patch and version is out, often a year or more after it was first issued. Ship it, then plan to fix the bugs left in or that surface.
www.macperformanceguide.com is saying "No" to Maverick for now. Of course there will be no "No" on new Mac Pro 2013 6,1 when those ship (Late Jan? )

Nbc sports live extra not playing video

I just bought a new macbook pro in Jan 2014, and it has all the requirements that are requested by nbc sports live extra website but the video doesn't play...is anyone else having this issue? I reached out to nbc but was hoping someone on hear would be more responsive.

NBC Sports Live Extra app (Apple TV) not showing live play

Sunday 3rd May 7am to 9.30am - tying to watch WGC Cadillac golf event at San Francisco using NBC Sports Live Extra application on the Apple TV, but live coverage does not show (replay videos work fine - just not live). I was able to view live coverage of same event yesterday using same setup. Live coverage does work in Safari on same internet connection using xfinitytv.comcast.net, so something is broken with the NBC Sports Live Extra application.

I haven't seen it on my Apple TV yet. I restarted the Apple TV so many times and even reset it to factory settings... but still it is not showing up...

NBC Sports Extra Time?

When will the NBC Sports Extra Time channel be available? We would like to have more options for seeing English Premier league games. We already know about the Live Extra app and do sometimes use that but we've been waiting for this extra channel and still nothing.

I don't get it. So many other systems carry extra time. Given the time of day, there must be lots of unused space that FiOS could use for this. For example, the MLS channels. We should have had this a long time ago.

Signed up for a Triple Play Bundle. Reps can't fix billing because they no longer offer that bundle.

I signed up for a Triple Play Bundle back towards the end of January for DSL/Phone/DirectTV. After taxes, fees, & discounts, I was quoted about $135 total, across two seperate bills. Direct TV's billing was constant from their end since day one($80); never a problem. Verizon bills me for about $100-110 each month, obviously not accounting for the bundle they signed me up for.
Customer service has not been helpful. After stating that they no longer offer that plan, they all then try to sell me a Fios bundle. Why would I agree to another contract when this one is so woefully in disaray?
I have names of every rep I spoke to & their corresponding 6 digit employee codes, as well as a couple personal emails which stopped responding a while ago.
If anyone can help with this, I would be very much appreciative.

If you know which computer you want you can order it online at the online Apple Store. As for learning your new computer Apple provides many online tutorials for people make the switch from a PC. Here are some starter sites that I'd recommend you bookmark and use.

If you prefer to purchase directly from a brick and mortar Apple Store you are very fortunate to live in the Bay Area, where there are many stores to choose from. When you arrive tell the receptionist you want to purchase an iMac and they will have help you get a sales professional to help you. You can also use the new system Apple implemented this past week at any of the display counters to request a sales person come to you. Again the receptionist can help you get started on that too. Once a system is purchased and you buy the one on one service the one one one service is executed where it's more quiet than inside the store. I frequent the Valley Fair store in Santa Clara on occasion, this store is extremely busy and I see people receiving one on one service all the time within the mall at dedicated tables.

NBCSports Live Extra not working for F1

Why can't I access NBCSports streaming Live Extra service? I tried to watch the Formula One qualifying today and logged in like you're supposed to, but all it does after the "loading" spinner is kick me back out to the "You're only two steps away from Live Extra!" page. Please explain.

Live Mesh is afaik no longer supported and can't be used anymore by new users.
In WIndows Phone 8 use the backup feature (Settings>Backup), Settings, SMS messages, contacts, Calendar entries and your app list will be restores when you reset the phone and go through the Device First use sequence. It is important that your carrier has the settings for Internet on the SIM otherwise this will not work. Make sure you have transferred all media files to either SkyDrive or your PC through Explorer (Using MTP) or the available Windows phone app(Mac or PC).
If you have a Windows Phone 7.x device your Contacts and Calendar entries are synced to their respective accounts and will be synced back when you set up the phone after a reset. SMS/MMS messages and most app settings will unfortunately be lost. Media files should be synced to your PC using Zune or Mac using the Windows Phone app (in Mac appstore).
Apps can be reinstalled using the app ReInstaller.
