Verizon Online Tutorials Question

Hi;
First time user on the forums and I have a question if anyone on the forum has an answer.
Are there any tutorials available on verizon online for pc's that run the windows vista operating system?
I ask this question because I currently have a desktop pc that runs windows xp/sp3 and a westell versalink gateway. I am going to be getting a new laptop pc in the near future to use in addition to my desktop.
The laptop pc will run windows vista home premium edition and will have capabilities to operate wirelessly via a built-in wireless card.
However, the online tutorial on home networking found on verizon online does not show how to set up a wireless pc using vista as it only shows steps for windows xp and earlier versions of windows.
Any help with my question will be very much appreciated.

I already have one. Kinda like a hybrid if you will.
A Westell Gateway modem/router that I received from Verizon when I started DSL service.
Question is, Is this Westell model 327w easy to set up with Windows Vista Home Premium edition?
Because the laptop that I plan to get has that os with an option to upgrade to the new version of Windows that will be released later this year called Windows 7.
Please let me know if you or anyone else on the forum has an answer to this.

Macbook Tuition and Online Tutorials Wanted

Is there anywhere I can find really good Macbook tuition/online tutorials?
Though it is well built, I find it an absolute nightmare to use in everything I do.
Just one example: Using iPhoto to crop a photo. I create an album called temp and copy the original in to this album so I don't damage the original. I crop the photo in the temp folder and then find it's cropped the original in another folder as well. Seems totally illogical to me
Things that take 2 mins to do in Windows, take 10 times longer on the Mac.
I have bootcamp installed to run other programs and I'm thinking about giving up and going back to Windows 7 unless I can get some decent help.

I am having the same problem with texts not appearing on my online text log and have also noticed a huge increase in data since my two sons have had their iPhone 5s. I have the iPhone 4. Two problems here
iPhone users DO appear. In the posted questions and response below, you indicate that if we are all using iPhones then we are not using the Verizon network but using data. HOW DO I STOP THIS DATA USAGE AND RETURN TO USING THE NETWORK? I can't afford the data charges that I am getting.. HELP!! and Thank you.

If you are all using iPhones, then it's likely the texts are going through iMessages and therefore use data. Since the texts are not using the Verizon network, but the app, they do not show up in the logs. The app is not specifically blocking the texted numbers from showing up, but the information comes through Verizon as data usage, not numbers texted.

Lets figure out just where those texts are going! There are many apps that can be downloaded from the Play Store for Android phones that will allow messages to be sent over the internet, and therefore they are not actually text messages and will not show up in our records. Even Facebook has their own messaging app available that does this.
If you have an iPhone, they come with a service called iMessage that allows for messages to other Apple devices be sent via the internet, and this will also not show up on our records. These are all ways to bypass our actual texting services, and since these messages are not being sent as texts they do not show up on our records.

I am looking at online tutorials about parallax scrolling websites but I have a fully updated version via Adobe Cloud. I'm on Windows 8.1 but my Muse doesn't have the 'fill/scroll' menu. Why? Is it only a Mac option?

I want to create and offer a scrolling website for a restaurant client but I am confused by online tutorials that show a drop down menu with either fill or scroll. I have checked for updates but I am fully up to date. Does anyone know why I cannot access this scrolling menu please?

Thank you for your kind advice which I greatly appreciate. However, I think I have solved most of my problems by signing up with Train Simple on a $9 per month technical learning course. Within a few minutes I was able to locate the fill - scroll menu by simply clicking on the actual text of fill - which for some reason I didn't know about!. I stayed with the Muse fundamental course all day today and covered everything to do in Muse in great detail. I am now looking forward to the single page website learning experience with scrolling!

Verizon Online Backup and Sharing using FTP

Can I access my Verizon Online Backup and Sharing 250MB with an FTP client instead of installing the backup software?

no ftp, only through the software.

Verizon Online Backup and Sharing Error Message

Started getting Verizon Online Backup and Sharing error message at startup about two weeks ago and can't connect via VISS. Anybody else out there having this issue? Tried downloading update but can't open the file. Also seems to be affecting VIHA. - takes forever to open. Heard syncNshare has been hacked. Is this true?

Need online tutorials for balancing ragged text

Can anyone recommend online tutorials on how to work with ragged text in Indesign? I need a quick & dirty overview on how to achieve better balanced ragged text but many of the online sites I've encountered don't talk about how to "design" text....I'm getting a lot of steep slopes and weird gaps on my flushed left type despite experimenting with the composer features.
Please provide direct links to articles/videos not just website names.

You should not be forcing current Verizon Triple Play members to pay $59.99 a year more for MSN Premium with McAfee Anti-Virus and Spy Sweeper. We have to protect our computers while using Verizon online or we won't be able to be online. Current members should be Grandfathered in to the plan that includes MSN Premium. The new proposed $59.99 charge for MSN Premium starting March 1, 2012 should only apply to new subscribers.

Are your MSN Premium addresses @verizon.net e-mails, or are they an @hotmail , @msn.com or an @live.com address? There isn't a lot you can really do unfortunately to keep a bundle that isn't offered as complementary unfortunately besides pay up. It was known a few years ago that Verizon was dropping the service and grandfathering the product to those who already have it. If you have a verizon.net e-mail even through it is through MSN Premium, it's a good bet you have nothing to worry about as long as your verizon.net e-mail remains the same. All of the e-mail will carry over to wherever you head off to.

No web sign in access for Verizon online backup and file sharing - HELP!

I need to sign-in via web browser to my backup files in my Verizon Online Backup and File Sharing service. The Verizon site redesign redirects the old URL with a sign in to a sales page with no way to reach my stored files.
I contacted Verizon support more than a week ago about this asking for a URL with a sign in option to the cloud, was told that it was a problem affecting many customers (obviously eveyone with the online backup and filesharing service!) created by the redesign and that they would have a page created to allow login within 24 hours. I've heard nothing back and still have no access.
I made very clear that this was a HUGE problem for me, as I'm out of the country and rely on file access, and was on deadline for a critical professional project. The support tech I was on live chat with assured me they were working on it and that he would contact me via email as soon as it was resolved. Lots of apologies, etc. but now, a week later ... still no access and no contact. Astonishingly unprofessional.
When I tried again to find a link and/or contact support on Friday I was given no option to file a support ticket, chat with support or do any other kind of follow up. I've tried every search string option possible, including the name of the service with "sign in" appended (the Verizon nomenclature)--site searches a week ago for the service name returned null results. Web searches produce summaries from the old "My Services" page that include "sign in" but those links now redirect to the sales page that tells me how great it is I'll be able to access my files with a web browser with Online Backup and File Sharing. But no option to access the service.
Has anyone figured out a workaround or have a saved URL that still resolves to a Sign In portal?
I grow more desperate by the day. Thanks for any assistance.

I just wasted a lot of time on this same issue -- it turns out I couldn't find my way into the web application because I normally log into a subaccount, and you have to be logged into the primary. I had tried logging into the primary but apparently hadn't tried all possibilities from there.
So I chatted with Verizon support and got the phone number for Online Backup support, left them a message (because their hold music is so repellent I couldn't stand to remain on the line, maybe that's deliberate) and got called back about four hours later (and a second callback the next day, since I hadn't responded to the the voicemail they left on the first callback).
So here are the instructions (until they change the web site again...)
1. log into the primary account (not a subaccount)
2. click My Verizon
3. click My Services on the left
4. click Broadband Essentials and Extras (right under My Services)
5. click the Manage button next to My Subscriptions
6. click the Verizon Online Backup and Sharing xx MB button

Can i legally use screen captures of final cut in online tutorials?

I want to know if I will be in any trouble for using video screen captures of final cut pro in my online tutorials.

I've done dozens of tutorials...and there are hundreds more that use FCP, as well as other professional apps...no problems. The software makers don't care if you do this. Teaching people how to use their software only helps them sell more copies.

Wrong phone graphic on My Verizon online

When I log into My Verizon online, it shows a graphic of a phone that I DON"T have...it used to display a graphic for the Samsung Gusto, which is the phone I use, but it just suddenly changed one day...it's not that big of a deal, since I'm not having any other issues with the account online or on the phone, just wondering if there's a way to get it to show the right one...

Did you call customer service at 1-800-922-0204 and report your phone as stolen?
If you waited too long whomever stole the phone could have easily swapped the SIM cards with another phone in this case an iPhone 5 and gone on their merry way.

Verizon online updates

Upon my PC starting up I am getting a screen that is a checking of online updates. It says that I was not connected to the internet and gives a error code OxC2090194. When I click OK on this pop up screen it leaves a sign in page. It will let me sign in and then I have this Verizon online updates page which says it will check for updates and has always shown that there is nothing there. Is there away to keep these screens from coming up
