Verizon PAP2 admin password or unlock guide.

I recently purchased a pap2-vn that was previously used on Verizon.
I did not do enough research and just found out it is locked and can only be unlocked with an admin password.
Does anyone know of the username and password?
Any guide to unlock the VN model?
Thanks.

Customata , I believe you're referring to unlocking methods found in another forum and when you search it through my friend,  google.

Why can I not disable the guest user in the 10.8.2 update? I have never enabled the guest user, but after the update, it was automatically enabled with a "managed" tag. It is not selectable even after entering my admin password to unlock the options. I was able to select the account under "parental controls", but again, could not delete it. Why Apple? Why?!!????

SOLVED Ok. I actually was able to disable it. I had to actually log in as the guest user to make it accessible in the preference window. Then I disabled it and logged out. Apologies if this was obvious for some people, but I have had some sort of issue with something every update since Snow Leopard.

  • Script setting require an admin password to unlock preferences

Hidden in System Preferences -> Security & Privacy -> Advanced is a button to turn on or off requiring an administrator level password to unlock various System Preference options. This will secure certain preference options as defined in the /etc/authorization file.
When you turn it on it will set to true that those preference options are to be secured and when you turn it off it will set the control to false. By making a copy of the file /etc/authorization and then doing a diff of the before and after copies you can see the changes. (Or open both copies and scroll through them.)
However it seems it also sets a flag someone where else to indicate which mode it is in, this I somewhat expected because it is possible to manually modify the settings in /etc/authorization and it would need some overall method of determing which mode it is in.
My problem is that I don't know where this overall flag is kept, it does not appear to be in /etc/authorization itself although I may have missed it.
Does anyone know where this setting is?
With this information it would be possible to then write a script to apply the changes to /etc/authorization and also set that overall flag for the purposes of pre-configuring a computer when imaging it.
    Thanks.

its should disable but every time i open the system preferences still show up ????
Or i should make restart ?
That is a different question. Your initial question was about where the setting was.
I never messed with the setting before and I have always had to unlock locked preferences.  I tried it just now, though, and it doesn't seem to do what it says it should. Maybe it does something but I don't know what it is.  You can try a restart or log out but I am doubtful it will make a difference.

Hello, I recently bought a refurbished macbook pro which serial no is C1******H2G. I can't open this coz I was not provided with any admin password. Point to note here I have not any operating system CD also. Now how can I unlock my macbook pro ??

Who did you purchase the MBP from.  They should have the password.
An early 2011 MBP probably came with Snow Leopard. Use the original OSX disks and reinstall 10.6.
There is a possibility that it came with Lion (10.7).  In that case boot the MBP holding the OPTION+COMMAND+R keys.  That should connect you to the Apple servers and install the original OSX.
    Ciao.

  • How to unlock windows admin password

    Dear Support,
Please tell me how to unlock the password of administrator in windows 8.1
    Ashok Marodia
    9873506200

Method 1: Recover Windows 8.1 Administrator Password with Third-party Software
    1. Download and install Windows Password Recovery Tool Ultimate on a workable computer and launch it.
    2. Insert a blank CD/DVD or USB Flash Drive to the workable computer; choose a way to burn a password reset disk.
    3. Insert the created reset disk into the locked computer and restart the locked computer, then you need to set BIOS to boot the computer from the disk. If your computer with Windows 8.1 preinstalled uses UEFI, you should disable UEFI Secure Boot firstly.
    4. On the showed program after several steps, you can see a list of accounts, choose the administrator account and follow instructions remained.
Method 2: Recover Windows 8.1 Admin Password by Password Reset Disk Created before
    1. Sign in Windows 8.1 with a wrong password, then under the password box will appear the option of "Reset password". Click it.
    2. After that, the password reset wizard shows. Insert the password reset disk into the computer.
    3. Follow instructions on the reset wizard to change or reset your login password.
Method 3: Recover Windows 8.1 Admin Password with a Super Administrator Account
There is a built-in Administrator account in Windows 8.1 which has no password. It is different from a normal administrator account and has super privileges over other accounts. If the super account has been enabled before you lost password, you can use it
to crack Windows 8.1 administrator password or just remove it. Here are detailed steps:
Note: this method can be only used when you have enabled the super administrator account. As the built-in administrator account is usually turned off, you can go back to Windows Password Recovery Tool for Windows 8.1 admin password recovery.
    1. After you start your PC, you will see a list of accounts on the computer; choose the super administrator account to log into your computer.
    2. Now you can change or remove Windows 8.1 administrator password from "Start-> Control Panel-> User Accounts->Sign-in Options" easily.

  • Reset admin password but can't unlock old keychain

I recently tried to install software for a new printer onto my old eMac. (Mac OS X Version 10.2.8, 640MB, 700MHz, Power PC G4). The printer installer needed my admin password for the eMac, which I'd forgotten. I booted the Emac up using the original install disc for Mac OS X and changed the password successfully (printer is working fine), but now there's 2 things:
    1. every time I turn on the computer, it requires my password, even though I've checked the auto log box in System Preferences>System>Accounts
    2. Entourage requests my password for my email account as well as my keychain password, which I don't remember because it was likely the same as the old password I also didn't remember.
I've tried deleting everything that was listed in the Keychain Access application, and restarting the computer but the access remains locked.
    Any thoughts?

I remembered the original password and now the keychain is unlocked and its not asking for username and password every time I turn on either.

  • Admin Password not accepted when unlocking X509Anchors keychain

    Hi,
Has anyone encountered this before that the X509Anchors Keychain installed from System/Library/Keychains do not see the Admin password as valid? The other keychains accept the Admin Password as valid except for X509Anchors.
Any help or pointers on this question is highly appreciated.
    regards
    Gal

This is an should be an easy fix. Go to System Preferances and choose users and groups. Click on the lock and type in the admin details. Then click on your account and change the password. Sorry if this doesn't work.

  • I cannot recover my Master Password under 10.6.8. I want to change it. I do have my admin password for my account. How can I create a new master pw?

I cannot recover my Master Password under 10.6.8. I want to change it. I do have my admin password for my account. How can I create a new master pw?

If you are referring the Master Password that can be set in System Preferences>Security>FileVault, then see this thread:
How to reset FileVault master password
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=5822772
As explained there, and for obvious security reasons, a new master password created in this fashion way will not unlock any pre-existing FileVault accounts. Resetting the master password is therefore only useful after you turn off FileVault in all existing accounts. You can then turn FileVault back on after the new master password is in place.

  • How to reset lion admin password, how to reset lion admin password?

I forgot my admin password. Can anyone help me how can I reset the admin password?

Boot from your recovery partition by holding down the key combination command-R at startup. Release the keys when you see a gray screen with a spinning dial.
When the recovery desktop appears, select Utilities ▹ Terminal from the menu bar.
In the Terminal window, enter “resetpassword” and press return. A Reset Password window opens.
Select your boot volume if not already selected.
Select your username from the menu labeled Select the user account if not already selected.
Follow the prompts to reset the password.
Select  ▹ Restart from the menu bar.
You should now be able to log in with the new password, but you won't be able to unlock the Keychain. If you've forgotten the Keychain password (which is ordinarily the same as your login password), there's no way to recover it. You’ll need to reset your keychain in the preferences of the Keychain Access application.

  • Help with admin password

I just installed html db yesterday, but today I could not get logged back in as admin. I changed the admin password, evidently before email was set up correctly. I saw the post for "stupid password tricks", but How do I find the password for flows_010500, so I can create admin2?

    Ricky,
You cannot find account passwords in Oracle but you can connect as sys and alter user flows_010500 identifed by new-password; before you alter user flows_010500 account unlock; before running the user creation script.

  • Mavericks doesn't recognize admin password

After downloading Mavericks 10.9.3, I tried to install the software. I was prompted  to submit my administrator password -- which I did. However, Mavericks maintains that my password is incorrect. I changed the admin password and then attempted to install Mavericks again, but it still doesn't work. Has anyone experienced a similar problem?

    Tutorial: Resolving Keychain Issues
If you can't access your keychain, or forget your password If you can't get into your keychain file because you've forgotten your password or the keychain file appears to be corrupt, there are a couple of options.
First, if you've forgotten your password, you can use the "Keychain First Aid" utility to make the keychain password the same as the login password. This can be accomplished via the following process:
      1. Open Keychain Access (located in Applications/Utilities)
      2. Go to the "Keychain Access" menu and select "Preferences"
      3. Click the "First Aid" tab
      4. Make sure the "Synchronize login keychain password" box is checked
      5. Close the Preferences window
      6. Go to the "Keychain Access" menu and select "Keychain First Aid"
      7. Enter your username and password
      8. Click the "Repair" button
The second option is to completely delete your keychain then recreate it. This routine is useful if your keychain appears to be corrupt or otherwise inaccessible. This can be accomplished as follows:
      1. Launch Keychain Access (located in Applications/Utilities)
      2. Click "Show Keychains" in the lower-left corner of the window.
      3. Select the problematic keychain from the left-hand pane.
      4. Navigate to the "File" menu and select "Delete Keychain '(name of keychain)'"
      5. Check all options for deletion and press "OK"
      6. Create a new keychain by going to the "File" menu, then "New" and selecting
          "New Keychain"
      7. You can now make this keychain your default if you desire by selecting it, then
going to the "File" menu and selecting "Make '(name of keychain)' Default"
Login as root and perform repair In some cases, problems with keychains can only be resolved when logged in as the root user.
First, you want to enable the root user:
      1. OS X Mountain Lion: Enable and disable the root user
      2. OS X Lion: Enable and disable the root user
      3. Mac OS X 10.6: Enabling the root user
      4. Enabling and using the "root" user in Mac OS X
After enabling the root user, and logging in under this account, again open Keychain Access. First attempt repairs using Keychain First Aid, and failing that, delete then recreate the keychain as described above while logged in as root.
Persistently asked for stored passwords If you are persistently asked for passwords in various applications that you have specified should be remembered in a keychain, your "login" keychain may not be active for one reason or another.
Navigate to ~/Library/Keychains/ (this is the Library folder inside your user's home folder). Find the file named "login.keychain" and double-click it.
Failing that, select the "login" keychain within the Keychain Access application and make sure it is the default keychain by going to the "File" menu and selecting "Make 'Login' Default"
Turn off Keychain synchronization in applications having problems If specific applications are experiencing issues when accessing password-protected material, the Keychain may be to blame.
The above comes from an article published on MacFixit.com.

  • Reset admin password

I'm using apex 4.0.1, I can't reset the admin password, I have tried ALTER USER ANONYMOUS ACCOUNT UNLOCK; apxchpwd.sql; apxxepwd.sql
    any help please?

it seems oracle does not upgrade apxchpwd when you upgrade the apex version, i checked the script and still referring to apex 3.1 schema . i rewrite it with schema 4 and worked for me.
    thanks for the helpHi,
What you mean by "apxchpwd is not upgraded"?
If you store old install scripts and other scripts in your server, it is not Oracles fault=)
When you upgrade and you like store all scripts somewhere for later use e.g. reset password, you need take actions to manage files.
    Delete/overwrite old version files.
If you like after you install/upgrade Apex you can delete all install files when you have copy image folder to HTTP server alias /i/.

Hi , Welcome to the HP Forums! I noticed that you need to reset the Admin password to your HP Officejet 4630 printer. I am happy to look into this for you! I would recommend to restore the network settings to the default settings: Press the Wireless button to access the Wireless Status
menu.Press the button next to Settings to access the Wireless
Settings menu.Select Restore Defaults.Confirm the selection to restore defaults. You should then be able to login in with username: admin and the password is left blank. For future reference, here, is your printer's user guide. Hope this information is helpful, and thank you for posting!  “Please click the Thumbs up icon below to thank me for responding.”

  • Administrative password to unlock screen 10.10.2

How do I login to a locked screen (sleep/screensaver) on OS 10.10.2 with administrator credentials?
Background: I work on a k-8 school campus in Denver and often times need to troubleshoot users' machines when they are not present. If their sleep/screensaver requires a user password, I can't access the machine. Yosemite displays the user name and only that user's password will unlock the screen. Previous OS versions had both user and password fields and would accept admin credentials. OS 10.7-10.9 allowed for a config file change that would display user and password fields.
For most machines, it's no problem to just disable the screensaver but many administrators have confidential information and require security measures. It's also important to note that due to network configuration, I am unable to enable fast user switching.
Thanks in advance for any help solving this issue.
Various Macs - desktop & laptop
    OS 10.6-10.10.2

While I'm very curious how to unlock a user's screen through user switching it appears as though I've worked it out -
option+return will give you user and password fields as long as the account is not an admin account.
I tested this on an admin account and that's why it didn't work. Thanks for all the help.
