Verizon Security Suite Password?

I wanted to change one of the settings on my verizon security suite, but to change something, I need a password. I try to type in my password for my verizon account and my verizon email, but it is apparently not the same as either of the two. There is no, "forgot password" button, so I was wondering if there was any way to check the password.

If you can't remember the password, run the diagnostic utility and click reset...

  • 'System Security' Malware help, please! Installed Verizon security suite, now it's back again.

We received the System Security malware on our computer.  We thought we removed it completely because initially the malware prevented the Verizon security suite from running.
After we deleted the virus and the program attached, we were able to install the Verizon Internet Security suite. Lo and behold, two hours later (after a successful complete scan) the malware was back with NO warning from Verizon Security Suite.
Can someone please tell me how to remove this malicious program and also why the security suite gave no warning before it re-attached itself to our computer?
Any help is greatly appreciated, as our laptop is heavily used and we do not have the money or the time to have it completely wiped clean.
    Thank you!!

its really dependant on what type of malware is installed.
if u can get the exact name of it ... it should be something like name.malware .. something like that
do a google for "remove name.malware " or whatever the name of it is, and chances are the first 3 responses will be how to remove it
keep in mind that ABSOLUTELY NO VIRUS PROTECTION ON EARTH EVER , can protect you from every single virus/malware ... things change too fast for everythign to keep up 100% of the time

  • World of Warcraft DC's using Verizon Security Suite - fixes?

I am a new Verizon Fios customer and when I originally had the service installeda couple weeks ago,  I did not install the security suite right away.  I was using Norton 360 (Comcast) on my desktop and Windows 7 security services on my laptop.  All was working well in terms of internat access, speeds, and WoW performance.
I then proceeded to install the security suite on my desktop and laptop and now WoW DC's after approximately 5 minutes whether I use direct connect (desktop) or wireless (laptop).  Did not have any issues before installing the security suite.  Turning off the features I have access to in the menu's does not help the situation.  Using my laptop on a DSL wireless network at work location is fine with no disconnects.
If I am running the Ventrilo client software it drops connection as well and I have to close and relaunch it to get it working again.  The DC and Ventrilo issue happen simultaneously.  The DC's occur even without Ventrilo ruunning.
Were do I begin as I dread calling support and get pointed to Mcafee and Blizzard when the issue seems to be related to the Verizon router/fios services and probably Mcafee interaction.  Also what is the "cleaner" program to remove Mcafee from my system?
Thank-you in advance for your constructive input.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Not a fan of the Verizon Security Suite -- I think there are much better solutions with less overhead and at less cost than this product.   With that said ... let's see about what you might be experiencing.
This sounds like a problem we were experiencing with our enterprise implementation of McAfee a few months back with their firewall/HIPS product losing track of "state" on open connections and closing them or inappropriately blocking subsequent packets because it say the traffic as "out of sequence".   Try to find and temporarily disable the Firewall and HIPS part of the security product (might be in the Systray or you might need to go into Control Panel and find the firewall software and disable it there).  See if that fixes the problem ... if so, then you have the same bug we encountered.   Our problem ended up being a hot fix from the vendor.
Also, you did completely remove Norton 360 and all components before installing the Verizon product didn't you?  If not, having contending security products on the same machine can give you are world of hurt.
The "cleaner" to which you refer is to address a specific scenario where you can end up removing the McAfee products using their uninstaller but for some reason parts get left behind or the uninstaller fails with an error.   The cleaner will go in and find the errant parts of McAfee which got left behind and properly attempt to remove them.

  • Verizon Security Suite - Uninstall Family Protection

We had to reinstall Vzn Security Suite, which caused our laptop fan to run full speed, full time.  We then decided to uninstall Vzn Security suite and laptop is fine/calm.  During the initial download, we got Family Protection but didn't set up a user name or passcode.  It has, nonetheless, been blocking most sites -- like McAfee (maker of Vzn Suite) and our kids' school!  It needs to come off!  It didn't uninstall with the Vzn Suite, and we don't have any uninstall codes to get it off.  Any help out there for us???

How to uninstall Verizon Family Protection
Try your email addresses and passwords.
it does not have to be your vz email, but I would imagine that is what people would put in there most commonly.
If you don't have that Email and password for the admin account  then you might have to call verizon and they might be able to help you or they might have to get mcafee on the phone with you.

  • Hi, I recently purchased an IPad Air.  I have a Dell PC that has the Verizon.  Security Suite.  Do I need to have virus/malware protection for the IPad Air?  Thanks.

Hi, I recently purchased an IPad air.  Do I need to place virus protection software for it?  I also have a Dell PC that has the Verizon Security Suite.  Thanks for your info.  Jim

You do not need anti virus for the iPad. The ipad only installs things from the App Store and those apps are vetted. In addition, the operating system of the ipad isn't the same as PC's or Macs so common viruses don't run on them.
The only thing you need to be aware of is protecting your info....Go to a bad site and enter your info and you're just as vulnerable as you would be on a computer. So the device isn't vulnerable to anything but user actions.

  • Installing Security Suite Upgrades by McAfee

Whenever I have to install an upgrade to the Security Suite it directs me to remove all existing McAfee programs before the installation. I have to go to the Control panel and remove the existing Verizon Security Suite before I can install the download. This leaves my computer vulnerable for a period of time and it's also annoying. Please help.

Download the Installer to your PC (Do not run it yet)
    Disconnect from the internet
    Uninstall the old one
    run the installer
connect to the internet after you are done installing.

  • Security Suite Incompatibility with Windows 8

My daughter bought herself a laptop, and upon attempting to install the Security Suite, that I pay for monthly through Verizon, she and I discovered that McAfee is not compatible with Windows 8. We tried to utilize the compatibility wizard, but that didn't work either. When will this issue be resolved, as I imagine many other people may purchase new computers and laptops running on the Windows 8 platform over the holiday season?

McAfee themselves do have a security suite that is compatible with Windows 8. I recently installed it for someone who asked me to do it while working on a new Windows 8 laptop they needed help setting up. I don't know if the Verizon Security Suite has been specifically updated for Windows 8 myself, but I wouldn't be surprised if someone out there does actually have it working.

  • Security Suite question

I just recently started using the Verizon Security Suite. Does anyone know how to add the Verizon Security Suite to an additional computer in my house? The plan says it includes coverage for 3 computers but I have been unable to find directions about how to add the Security Suite to a second computer. I'd appreciate any help!  Thanks in advance

Log into Verizon Central (www.verizon.net).  Click on the link (on the left) for MANAGE BROADBAND ESSENTIALS & EXTRAS. Click on ACCESS NOW and it should start running setup on your second computer.

  • Windows Security Suite does not recognize Verizon Internet Security Suite

Windows Secuity Suite does not recognize that the Verizon Internet Security suite on one of my PC's is running and keeps popping up aWindows Security Alert. The Firewall is enabled within Verizon Internet Security suite.
My other PC's don't have this issue.
All PC's are running Windows Vista Home Premium.
    Any ideas?
    Cheers,

well that error message is saying that Windows security center no longer supports the way that the VISS is reporting. Which means that even though VISS is working and it is even reporting its status to WSC. WSC doesnt recognize it anymore. Likely one of the windows updates made the change. I can see the fight comming now. Verizon is going to say. Its working and if the other program doesnt support it, too bad. And windows is going to say the same thing in reverse. My guess would be that it will probably stay that way unless Verizon or Microsoft get enough complaints to make a change in the recognition system.
But the good news is that VISS is running and protecting you. The WSC just doesnt "speak the same language" anymore and cant understand the message from VISS saying "I'm up and running"

  • Verizon Internet Security Suite - says subscription ended but account is active

After several attempts with Verizon reps to get our online backup increased from 50gb to 150gb, Verizon finally figured it out and now we have more backup memory.  However, in the process of doing that, Verizon went and terminated our internet security suite.  After chatting with a rep to get VISS turned back on, our account on My Verizon shows that it is active again; however, the VISS on our PC still indicated that our subscription has ended.  In an attempt to fix the problem, we first removed the existing VISS from the PC then reinstalled it....but after reinstall, VISS is still saying the subscription has ended, and we need to renew our subscription.  I'm at the end of my rope in dealing with Verizon on this and thought I'd try the forums to see if I can get an answer.  Any ideas on how to get VISS to get working again?  I'm worried about the PC being exposed since VISS is not active...

  • Verizon Internet Security Suite/ 3 and Fios Inside Wire Maintenance Plans

I just noticed yesterday that I had been charged $6.99 a month for the "FIOS inside Maintenance Plan" and $5.95 a month for the Verizon Internet Security Suite/3 for the past 4 years. After calling customer service to inquire about these plans, I now understand that these plans are optional and automatically added to your bill unless you personally call and have Verizon remove them from your service.
Wanted to share some thoughts and see if people out there feel the same way I do.
I understand the Inside Maintenance Plan but I question the economical value to the customer, especially if it does not know it is paying for the plan.
I do not understand the Internet Security Suite/3. Here I feel it is a total rip off. Nobody has been able to convey what the plan is all about and what value it adds to the customer.
I feel that have been deceived and misled into paying for two plans I did not know I had because nobody presented the optional plans to me when I placed my order. Verizon provides these plans to you for free for 30 days, and if you don't call to cancel, the service continues automatically.
Granted, if you carefully read your bill, as the Customer Service Representative so judiciously told me, you will notice that these plans are added to your bill as separate line items and up to you to question them. I personally think that these practices are unethical, benefit the company, and at the end, it is always the customer that loses. Whether these plans have merit or not, Verizon should be clear and transparent with its customers when they place their orders. The customers must be given all the information they need about these plans so they can make rational decisions on whether they will really benefit from these plans and be given the opportunity to decline these plans when they configure the order of their new service. Furthermore, I really see no value for Verizon to throw these plans in for free for one month as there is no measurable way for the customer to determine whether these plans provide any kind or value to them. Whether deliberate or not, what ends up happening is that hundreds of thousands of customers fail to follow up after one month to cancel the plans and they ended paying for them until they realize just like me that they had been paying for something they did not want at the first place. If Verizon offers the plans for free trial to its customers, the burden should be on Verizon to follow up with the customers to determine if they want to continue the plan or not. That seems to me like a fair compromise.

Verizon Internet Security Suite is nothing more than money down the drain.  It's a throw away.  Get rid of it and use avast.com and malwarebytes.com, free virus programs that can do the job a lot better.  VISS kept saying for the longest time that my computer had no viruses until one day it slowed down to the point where I could no longer get onto the Internet, all because of viruses that VISS never detected!  What Verizon doesn't tell you is that it's the cheapest program on which Verizon can get the lowest bid and don't be fooled just because it's "powered" by McAfee.  I had to pay a computer expert from the phone book 165 bucks to learn this and at least now I am saving money.

  • I keep getting the "Upgrade to Verizon Internet Security Suite powered by McAfee" popup

Pretty much that. You know the one. it says "upgrade now" to the Verizon Internet Security Suite powered by McAfee, and starts the installation automatically after 2 minutes. I KEEP getting it. Even though i already HAVE upgraded. I even tried reinstalling it, but I still get the pop up. Its properly installed, works fine, so why do I still get the popup?
Help would be appreciated. I keep getting it like every 15 minutes or so.

    Hi,
What Operating system and service pack do you have.
Have you uninstalled the Radialpoint Verizon Internet Security from your PC (radialpoint is old version click here for removal tool)
Visit www.verizon.com/securityupdate, sign in, and click on “Upgrade Now”
That 2 and 3rd bullet point are probably the most important, make sure the old one is fully uninstalled, run that software, and restart the PC.  if the pop up notification persists, then try the 3rd bullet point and let us know how it goes.
Also they have Radialpoint Parental Control software too.  So if you still have that installed - then the pop up might not like that software.  You should uninstall Parental Control and install Verizon Family Protection Powered by McAfee from the Free Tools page (www.verizon.com/freetools/).
