Verizon Wireless installer for a wireless card not working. Help?

I have this wireless card from Verizon Wireless that lets me use internet anywhere i want. Its called the USB727 manufactured by Novatel Wireless. Bundled with this toy came a disc with the installer. When i tried to pop it into my iBook running OS X 10.4.11 it wouldn't begin the auto run. When I clicked the disc on my desktop i was given a .dmg file instead of the normal Verizon logo. When i opened it i was given two options the user manual and the actual installer. The installer logo was a piece of paper instead of the normal open-cardboard box. When i clicked it I'm given a window with the title folder actions setup, the setup doesn't show up.

Hi Eddie, and a warm welcome to the forums!
Not sure why it looks like that, I'd try this...
Not certain, but this can fix myriad problems...
Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup), it will try to repair your Disk Directory while the spinning radian is happening, so let it go, run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, then reboot & try to install.
Found this...
The main thing is, you need to install the VZaccessmonitor to get the right drivers, but after that you can connect through Internet Connect, as if it twere a regular modem. If you open internet connect, or the system prefs while configuring and setting up initially with the VZaccessmonitor, it will cause the repeating dialogues. I had to uninstall, make sure not to open system prefs while the VZ install ran, and then reboot--and the install had produced a new location for me.

  • Apple Wireless Card Not Working

I just removed an Apple Wireless card from a PowerBook Tit. laptop and plugged it into my QuickSilver 733, re-installed the OS, and I can not get the coputer to recognize the wireless card.
Now, this is the older wireless card not the extreme, and I have used one of these cards in the past for one of these computers and worked fine, but can not get it to pickup this time.
I know the card is good, was in use up until it was removed from the PB yesterday.
Tried to add the wireless device in the Network panel, but could not see the card.
    Any ideas???
    Thanks,
    Carter

I have a Quicksilver 2002 (Dual 1-GHZ) and my internal airport card just started acting flakey. It drops the connection and then re-acquires the network, sometimes a couple of times a minute. Sometimes the only way to get the wireless signal is to turn AirPort off and on agian on the computer. Then it will work fine for days. I bought this PowerMac new just before MacWorld in 2002 (yeah, right before the MDD model was introduced - brilliant timing on my part, as usual) and haven't had a lick of trouble with it ever. I also have a new MacBook with built-in AirPort Extreme and I have no trouble with my wireless signal on that computer, so it has to be the PowerMac. Are there any known issues I'm missing?

  • Sprint Wireless Card Not Working in iMac

A friend of mine recently got a Sierra Wireless 598U USB card (Sprint service) for her iMac G5 but she is unable to get the iMac to recognize the card.
First I should say that I am a Windows person and I know almost nothing about Mac OS but I'm trying to help her.
She has Mac OS v10.4.11 which according to what I've seen online should support this wireless card. Here's what I can tell you:
    1. We know for sure that the Sierra card is OK because it works in other PCs (all Windows machines).
    2. When connected to her iMac the Sierra card is receiving power. The LEDs on it light up.
    3. When the Sierra card was first connected to her iMac the software installation process started automatically and seemed to complete normally (not that I know what normal is on a Mac).
    4. When we click the Sierra "Smart View" icon the program starts and displays a message saying "No wireless device detected." And that is where we are stuck. Any suggestions appreciated.
Again, I know very little about Mac OS so please explain anything that a Windows person might not know. Thanks!
    Peter

My friend did contact Sprint support and they were unable to fix the problem.
I really do think the problem is in the iMac not the Sierra card. I may be wrong but that's what my gut says given that the card works perfectly in other PCs.
If this were a Windows PC I would know where to look to find and fix the problem but I know almost nothing about Mac OS. Can you give me any suggestions on where to look in the OS to try to narrow down the cause of the problem?

  • Wireless Card not working WIFI 5300

Hi, I just bought state of art T400 yesterday, and did not even try to work on Visa Business and recovered XP Pro with the provided recovery CD. All drivers were installed on recovery, except, wireless LAN and Modem. I tried downloading and installing all wireless LAN drivers from lenovo.com and Intel, but it did not work. did any one face such a problem. the device manager does not show any wireless card listed even after multiple installs and rebooting. Thus, updated windows, also SP3, and still the same. Please help...

    Hi,
    I'd suggest the following:
Make sure that the hardware RF kill switch is to the right, so that the WiFi radio is enabled.
Remove whatever WiFi drivers you've installed.
Download and install ThinkVantage System Update and run it. It should download and install the correct WiFi driver for your ThinkPad.
Please post back with whether that solves your problem.
    Good luck!

  • Videoconference through wireless card not working 100% but ethernet is fine

    my system is:
Macbook Pro, running 10.5.1 and I have an Airport Extreme 802.11g running on bridge mode.
When I use iChat 4.0 and video chat with a fellow with a similar setup, I have no issues if I connect through the ethernet port of the Airport Extreme base station with the laptop's airport card off, but I cannot start it up through the wireless. The even more curious thing is that if I happen to turn the airport card back on, and then wait for it to set up, then disconnect the ethernet cable, I can then start a video chat through the wireless.
I have tried changing the port on my iChat configs in Server settings to 443, and that did not work. My only guess is that there is a port issue of some kind. I have made sure that under System Preferences that I have allowed all connections (while testing this) and STILL it will not work.
    Any ideas?

Having read many of the posts since Leopard came out regarding the Airport Base Station - I would have to concede that there is something odd about the combination of iChat, the Mac Firewall and a Base Station.
Now there was a problem with the Mac Firewall at the base 10.5 release and the 10.5.1 basically turned it On.
Now, for the Base station there does seem that there is almost some interaction between the firewall and the Base Station.
It appears that if Allow Specifics was set before the 10.5.1 update was done that the firewall my not be fully recognising this.
The suggestion is to remove all apps from the Allow Specifics list and set the Firewall back to the default Allow All.
Then it can be reset to Allow Specifics and iChat Re-added to the list.

  • Wireless Card Not working

i have a satellite l305d-s5914.  when i turn on the wireless internet the light doesn't turn on and it doesn't pick up any signal.  the diagnostics said it doesn't have the right drivers but another test said it did.  any help would be appreciated.  thanks.

The wireless card should be there, but if the drivers are not installed or the wireless antenna switch is not on, you're not going to connect wirelessly. Go to Control Panel. Click on Device Manager. Click on the icon just to the left of Network Adaptors. You should see both the wired and wireless network adaptors. No red 'X's, yellow '?' or anything on the wireless card. If the wireless card is not there, Windows is not seeing. And if there is a red 'X' , the wireless card has been disabled. And the yellow '?' means that the wrong driver was installed.
You can also disable the wireless card and turn off the wireless antenna by doing an FN-F8 key combination. The same key combination will toggle the wireless on too. With the wireless antenna switch in the on position, do the FN-F8 combination to get the wireless LED back on. Normally that LED is an orange/amber.

While I don't know the exact age of your machine, the ze2000 series is almost ten years old, which means it's most likely cheaper to buy a much better computer than to repair this one.

  • Trying to set up wireless printer. error message says: "wireless radio not working" help.....

I have no knowledge of a "wireless radio" muchless of how to "turn it on"

I think the printer's radio (the device it uses to communicate with your wireless router).
If it is convenient, you can plug the printer into your router using an Ethernet cable for the same functionality as it being wireless.  I can help if you want.
If that is not convenient, please contact HP support: www.hp.com/go/totalcare (click on Printers & Monitors, there is a phone number on the resulting page).

  • Additional Fields for ESS-Business Card Not Working for Certain Countries

    Dear Experts,
We were trying to configure the additional fields to be displayed in Business Card - Overview Screen for all countries. We don't have problem configure and get the new fields display for Malaysia (Molga = 14) but having problem for the field to display for Hong Kong (Molga = 27) and Singapore (Molga - 25).
The strange thing is I am following the same steps as I configured for Malaysia. Somehow it is not working for Hong Kong and Singapore. As I understand, there is only 1 place to configure in SPRO for this requirement:
Personnel Management -> Employee Self-Service -> Service-Specific Settings -> Own Data -> Customizing of Personal Information Screens -> Determine Fields for Business Card on Overview Screen

  • Check for available downloads does not work HELP

I had previously bought about 100 songs on my laptop, but we encountered a problem were my wireless network would not work. The support at HP wouldn't help us out unless we did a system restore first, so i lost all my stuff.
when i installed itunes again after the restore, it gave me one song from the check for available downloads option, and it says all available purchases have been located. Also, when i try to download a song I already had before it recognizes that I already downloaded it and tells me to use the check for available downloads button, which obviously is not helping me.
anyone else have this problem? I dont really wanna be out a hundred bucks...

and * is wrong with you guys!
The only people who participate here are we your fellow users, so please don't yell at us.
your making music even more expensive! $1.29 for a song i could get for free! *?!
It's the record companies who are controlling the pricing. They forced Apple to accept having more popular songs be more expensive as the price for allowing Apple to remove the copy protection. Rant at the record companies, little good though that will do.
Look for a folder called "Downloads" in your iTunes Music folder. If there is such a folder, look for files that would be the partial download and delete those, so that the download starts over from the beginning. Then try again using the "Check for Available Downloads" command under the iTunes Store menu.
If that doesn't work, contact the iTunes Store customer support department through the form at the bottom of their web page and explain the problem to them.
Hope this helps. Next time, though, it would be better if you started your own topic rather than tagging onto someone else's thread.

  • Downloaded drivers for the MS6570 do not WORK - HELP!

    Hello,
I have a fresh install of Windows XP on the MS6570. I've also downloaded the drivers for the mother board from: http://www.msi.com.tw/program/support/dr...pt_dvr_list.php
    and from:
    http://ftp://download.nvidia.com/Windows/nForce/5.10/nForce_5.10_WinXP2K_WHQL_english.exe
Unfortunitly, everytime I run the setup program from the downloads, it begin the install process but than immediatly turns off the install, never beginning and finishing the install process. No error messages or anything. I've also just installed SP1 for Win XP from a CD I have thinking this may needed to be installed first, but still had no luck. I truely am thinking the driver downloads for the ms6570 are bad.
Does anyone know of a way that MSI can put working drivers for the ms6570 so they can be downloaded or does anyone know of another site or can provid an FTP to working drivers?? I'm extremely desperate.
    I appreciate any info.

    I appreciate everyone's reply....
Here is what I have done.
I have installed a NIC on my PC, because my on board ethernet will not detect under Windows. I've also went and downloaded SP2 from Microsoft and installed that with all other critical updates. I downloaded the latest version of direct x 9.0c, and the the ms6570 diver's setup to run under win 2000.
Still the results are the same as described above. The driver software downloaded will not run the complete install process. I've than tried to get Windows to detect and update any hardware drives that it can find from the internet and the only driver it found was for the sound card which now works.
I appear to be with the same problem as originally described, and still feel that the drivers may be corrupted that are offered for download. Again.. I'd be happy to pay for a copy if anyone would be willing to burn me an original driver CD. I know the original driver CD does work as this is what I loaded the drivers for my motherboard in the past with.
    Thanks for any help again.

  • Wireless card not working... help please!!!!!!!!!!

oh please help. got this Agere orinoco silver wireless PC card for the titanium. OS 10.2.8.
Card doesn't light up on insert (although someone told me they aren't supposed to). The card shows up in the desktop menu bar (only gives me the option of powering off the card). I've tried the SourceForge wireless driver and the demo of the IOXperts driver. Both claim they work great with this card and this computer and this OS. am I crazy, or is my card a dud?
thanks, please answer if you can, I'm going nuts.

    Joey,
I have the Orinoco Gold that I used with my old Wallstreet. The card has two lights. One goes on when activated and one blinks showing wireless activity. I suspect your Silver should behave similarly. The IOxperts driver is supposed to work. Have you checked System Profiler to see if the card is recognized? Have you rerstarted the powerbook? I believe the card should be inserted when the powerbook is shut down. Post back. FWIW, there are 11g cards out there that will work just fine.

    >told by my father that he had  Acrobat Pro trial downloaded on the same PC
You are not allowed to install the trial a second time
Since a "secret code" is put on your hard disk to prevent a 2nd install, the only way to install the trial a 2nd time is to completely wipe your hard drive and install everything again... starting with Windows
Actually, I am not sure that a simple FORMAT command goes to the hard drive area used for the secret code... you MAY need to remove the partition and start as if this was a brand new drive that has never been used before
