Verry slow transision

i like to make a slideshow -preferebly in iphoto- with verry slow transisions.show a photo for say one sec. and than fade to the next in say twenty sec. is that possible? does anyone knows an alternative? thanks

You've found the Slideshow settings inadequate to the task. Post this request up to where some programmers hang out. Maybe here: http://discussions.apple.com/forum.jspa?forumID=735 Could be that someone knows how to go in and tweak the settings file. Other than that it would be a great suggestion for inclusion in future builds.

I bought 2 months ago Mac book pro 8,2 intel core i7 2760 QM CPU@ 2,4 ghz 8 core, I installed boot camp, 64 bit , and everything is running verry slow, boots up verry slow, programs, browser runs very slow, and i have a problem with my wirless connection, i get , after a wile of usage "Limited Connection" and i have to reconnect to network ( on other notebooks i dont have this issue) .
My computer runs slow because of my Hard drive 5400 rpm?
And how can i preserve my battery, are there Spare batteries on the internet for this macbook.
Sometimes when i play alot, my computer gets very hot. What cooler do you recomend for macbok pro, i heared that fan coolers aren't verry good.
If i use my macbook pro alot , it can break or something?
<EDIT> I forgot to tell, i cannot update to my lates graphic card software, i can''t update anything. I download the update and it tells me that its not compatible with the hardware. (and yes, it is the right version 100% compatible)

IOS 5.0.1 on 3GS Crashing-Restarting sometimes after taking a photo and verry slow

My Iphone 3Gs is crashing and restarting sometimes after taking a picture. This is not always but verry often.
The Iphone is also verry slow since IOS 5 , a big fault from Apple is that they have not put a warning when update a 3GS to IOS 5 that is will be almost unusable.
When pressing on the small button on top of the iphone , it takes sometimes more than 10 seconds until the phone is locked. I hear the click when it is already in my pocket.
also the same when ending or stating a call it is so slow that sometime i am calling to somebody else in my list.
Is there a solution to put it back to the latest 4.3 version ?

I had the same problem with my 3Gs - rebooting every two minutes or so, but only when plugged into the charger. Eventually, I remembered that I had taken a couple of photos with the phone.
So, I deleted the photos from the phone and the problem vanished.
Must be something to do with incompatability with the older camera systems.

Streaming iMac (via iTunes) to Apple TV 3 verry slow

Since about a month i have an apple tv 3 generation. I prepare movies in iMovie and publish them in iTunes. Via iTunes I stream these movies to the Apple TV. In the beginning I had no problems, but since about a week streaming is become verry verry slowly. Please, could you advice how to solve this problem.
I use a iMac 21,5" / 3.06 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo / Memory: 4GB 1067 MHz RAM / OSX version 10.8.1. Both the Apple TV 3 and the iMac are up-to-date.

Is your wifi router fairly modern? I assume so since you say streaming once worked well.
Is there an old computer somewhere in your house (or your neighbors' if you don't have a password on your wifi <grin>)? An old device that can only do the original wifi standard (802.11b) can cause the whole wifi to run at slow speed.

Filtering a dataset Verry Slow how can I speed it up

When doing a load from datasource to a UDMatrix on a UDF it is VERY slow
line by line updating each cell etc etc with the result from an SQL Query.
but a loadfromdatasource is Very quick is there a way to do a load from datasource with a filter? (i.e no query)
and hence speed up the whole operation.
Or am I using an incorrect method to load a Matrix..

CS3 verry slow

Hello,
I started working with a trial version on CS3 and am having
some issues. The same movie that workes well in flash MX pro takes
5-10 times longer to compile in flash CS3, ands the file size in
40% bigger.
It also lags a lot when playing FLV files and doing other
things at the same time.
I'm getting 3-4 pages worth of little squares in my output
pannel when i turn the size report on.
I have enough computer power to run CS3 well.
Am i the only one that is having a speed problem, or maby
there is something that I am not doing right with the new
version?

Perhaps the Flash version ? Some kind of early beta or
something because there is not

Application start verry slow

It takes an APEX applications on Windows Home Server 2003 a long time (+/- 70 sec.) to response when accessed through the internet. When the same application is started by the network it is very fast.
In the router I forwarded the ports 8080, 2030 en 1521 to the server. The shared_servers is set to 5.

There are a lot of things to check here:
1) Server networking settings
2) Router settings for internal network (including DNS forwarding)
3) ping time from external source to server (may indicate lag)
4) DNS resolution from external source to server
5) DNS resolution from server to external network
and more
I run an APEX application over a distributed VPN and I only see a couple of seconds of lag, tops, so something is definitely not right.

If you can afford it, go with a Crucial M4 SSD.
If your in a limited budget, go with a Seagate Momentus XT 750GB.
The SSD will be the fastest one and the Seagate being faster than a conventional drive.
If you decide to go conventional, avoid the Western Digital Scorpio Blue. They tend to have issues with Macbooks.

Now look my step work very very good for me 100% garantie.
1- On your User/Library/Application Support/Web save a copy on your desktop.
The problem is there or somewhere over the rainbowwwww ?
2-Open your project on the folder iWeb on your desktop, the name possible "Domain.sites2
if your work on your project please don't save "publish or publish all to .Mac
3- Save now all project on your desktop, save very fast. Look on your desktop you see a folder
have a name of your project. Mabe two or five folder's if you have more than one Site on your same
iWeb project.
4- Open your iDisk and put your project on the folder Web/Site it's verry slow but it's work
perfectly for temporary Apple result the real problem. or if you have personnal FTP put
there directly or on your "HTTPDOCK" not HTTPDOCKS" to depend of kind server you use.
Each time when i open my project iWeb from my desktop and work a little bit inside
i save them and i transfert now or later on my iDisk. Work gooooddd, I'm very hapy now!
Me i don't take a chance a save 2 copy, one on my desktop and another on my HD.
some time i paranoïde, when i ready to return to work i duplicate before a another copy
in case pffff! Like stupid but when your work hard a week a lost everything you don't take anny chance.
I work with Plugin iWebsites because can built seperatly project iWeb. But the new problem is
if you publish to .Mac he go to the Web/Site and if you open another project with iWebsites and publish again a new one , .Mac erase the firts to remplace new one. You loose the folder
on your iDisk but he still on your folder iWeb folder, name.sites2
I remember with iWebsites plugin on ilife 6, i think he put a new project individual on folderiDisk/Web/Sites with a index.html and another at the same time without "index.html"on iDisk/Web/Sites/iWeb/name of folder. Well, when i switch to ilife 8 , all my project still there Web/Sites/iWeb, have over 20 web sites. Only folder no index.html. Only one index.html can exist on Idisk/Web/Sites but you can have 100 folder's Web project. The index.html is inside of each the folder.
Remember very important! Only one project can exist on the folder Web/Site on your iDisk with the
"index html" folder, if you use a plugin like iWebsites or Multisites i don't use them, don't forget
if you built a new project Web page , when you go to internet web.mac.com/yourname, your project on the folder iDisk/Web/Sites he go open complete or if you want a new web page open by default well don't forget transfert manualy drag and drop your last project on the IWeb folder before, idisk,Web/Sites/iWeb ,or make shure you have on your desktop folder before erase them, but, but but the new direct link change like this web.mac.com/yourname/iWeb/name folder, but! if on this project inside your iWeb project your link inside mabe not same ,when you go to the internet your Web page and go some click link inside the link mabe not work it's because you place your project
on folder iWeb in your iDisk, it's look like a "Twillight Zone" but that's the way.
Simple explain: The web page by default with index.html on Idisk/Web/Sites
the rest on Idisk/Web/Sites/iWeb/
Solution: Return to open your hold project on your desktop and change all link and PUT ON YOUR DESKTOP and reput on idisk/Web/Sites/iWeb folder, not Sites, i tell you only one project can live there with "index html". or if you want this folder by default well erase the folder there with index.html and put a new one, the index.html is inside the folder, copy them and put seperatly . Exemple 1- your folder and 1-index.html on the iDisk/Web/Sites/your new folder
I case if you forget this point, if you work on iWeb and you save accidently your project on .Mac well he erase all the old one to remplace to a new one with a new "index html" When you go the internet and go Web.mac.com/yourname, your Web site it's open completly by default.

The various publishing workarounds that we know of are there; you may want to try moving the Site folder on your iDisk, and see if you can publish that way. I have 8 sites in the iDisk Web/Sites folder, all published separately from individual Domain.sites2 files.

Buttons don't navigate properly in Apple DVD Player!

Hello there,
This is extraordinarily frustrating! Can somebody please help ASAP?
We're running DVD Studio Pro 4.0.2 on Mac OS X 10.3.9, and we just finished authoring a DVD with a layered menu created from a Photoshop document.
When we put the DVD into a normal DVD player connected to our television, the remote control works as expected to navigate through our buttons. When we press right, it goes to the right (as we programmed it to do so). When we press left, it goes to the left (as we programmed it to do so). Everything works just fine!
HOWEVER -- here is the problem: When we put it into our computer running APPLE'S VERY OWN Apple DVD Player, the simulated remote on the screen has a mind of its own! When we press right on one button, it will go to the left. When we press right on another button, it will go up. When we press down on one button, it will go left. This is absolutely MADDENING! And this is Apple's OWN player!
We've also noticed that the simulator within DVD Studio Pro plays back the DVD verry slow... in a choked performance way. More so than we've seen with any DVD in the past. Is this part of the problem?
We are pulling our hair out over here trying to solve this! Can anyone please help?

An overlay style menu is a lot easier to create than a layer based one, and ionvolves just two flat files - one for the background (with everything on it that you want to show when buttons are not selected, etc) and one for the highlights (the overlay layer contains the shapes, text, tick, underline arrow or whatever that you want to show up when the button is selected).
These menus react faster, take only one click to activate a button and support the use of audio. They can't get as graphically rich as a layer based menu and if that is the prime consideration then I'd recommend using a series of menus linked together to go between the different button states, as this is still better than a photoshop layer based menu (which, incidentally, gets turned into a series of linked menus anyway as your disc is being built!)

Memory Problem.. iTunes doesnt open

I happen to have a problem with opening iTunes. When i open it, an window pops up stating that i do not have enough memory to run it. I find this confusing, since iTunes 7 only requires 256 mb ram, and i have that much ram myself, iTunes should work. Yes, i did close all applications and processes when i tried to open iTunes again.

OutOfMemoryError during many file open/close

In my application, which reads many files( one by one). I close the file everytime when it is finished. But when the number of files getting bigger, such as 16, I got following problem. What I could to do to avoid it? Any help is great appreciated.

I had this problem once and I solved it...
I made a application that need tables and for each table I needed to read from 2 text files and querry a database and than build up a table. The problem appeared when I had a too arge amount of data in the the arrays in wich I stored all the data to be processed. I made 2 swap files in wich I I write all the data that is not usefl at the moment and empty the arrays that I have written into the files.
Another problem may be with the verry slow immage processing of java, if you have many images and store them in some buffers than that may get you that exception even if you close the files. If you have to paint a too large amount of objects on the screen and beyond it (using scrollbars or so) even if the objects are not displayed it will eat up all the resources needed as if it would be painted on the screen.
Also you just might have a buffer you fill without emptying it or a array.
BTW encreasing memory heap is not advisable because I have never seen an application even the grafic applications that need more than 32 mb if they are well designed so try to enhance the way you manage the data, will cost you some time now but will save you the hollydays..:)
