Vers. 34.0.5 Video/Sound distortion

34.0.05 is causing videos, mostly Flash, to slow down and become distorted. I installed 33 and this did not happen. Any ideas on how to fix this on version 34?

Interesting enough, I don't have this problem on my desktop, but my mom's laptop has this problem on Firefox, Google Chrome, and even Internet Explorer. Each computer has the same version of browsers and Flash Player, so I have no idea what would cause it.

  • Speeding up youtube video sound distortion

when i go to speed up youtube videos cause i have so many subscriptions speeding them up saves time and most of them i can without losing anything but lately the sound at 2x gets choppy and above that is impossible to watch i know it seems an odd complaint it vastly slows down my youtube subscriptions

    operating system windows 8.1

Adobe Flash Player (2 files) - Version: 17.0.0.169
    Shockwave Flash 17.0 r0
clicking on any video on youtube loads fine going to settings then speed normal speed works fine going up to 1.25 on chrome makes the audio crack every 10 seconds or so , going up to 1.5 the audio starts cracking badly and makes the video almost stop for 5-10 seonds and 2 makes it even more un-watchable, on internet explorer the sound distorts more and more but it doesnt stop running like on chrome but is inaudible 1.5 to 2 i disabled all extensions to chrome not sure if this would be a youtube issue or a flash issue but its not isolated to chrome, i updated windows today and even checked my sound settings to see if there is a change

  • Video/Sound Distortion - any advice?

I've got a really wacky issue that has been plaguing my Late 2006 MacBook (2,1):
So lately I've been having a really weird issue with video playback on my MacBook. It has never really cropped up before this past week or so, but has gotten extremely common the last few days.
What I do is I'll be watching a video on Netflix, NHL.com, YouTube, whatever. It's usually when I hop between tabs with the video open that the distortion is most likely to happen - I typically jump tabs with either Ctrl+Tab or Cmd+Option+Arrow, however it also just happens randomly without moving between tabs. Software is up to date. Adobe is up to date. I typically run Chrome and this issue due to it being less finicky with certain sites (NHL.com for instance), but due to the common place nature of this bug, I tried using Firefox and it gets the same issue too.
I've got a link below showing what sort of happens. Sometimes it's worse with a very high pitched robotic distortion that kind of carries on even after closing the tab. Although this clip isn't the worst, it actually fixed itself right after, which doesn't happen often. Typically the video lags/freezes, the audio gets unsynced, and the audio gets distorted as in the video. Usually I have to reload the page entirely. Any thoughts?
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/12848871/video%20issue.mov - Just click to stream. Also sorry for the size. I chose the web export and that sure did compact the file as well as the resolution, but you get the picture. I had The Office (UK) in Netflix and was just flipping over to the exit polling data on CNN and it just goes crazy. Sometimes I can hit pause, let the spazzing complete, and resume. Other times I must reload the page and hope for the best.

It's actually spread, unfortunately, for the first time to non-browser issues. Twice tonight I was watching an embedded Hulu clip and closed it, tabbing over to restart my iTunes and the audio was skipping/distorted like the previously shown video clip. Geez, need to start worrying about my iTunes now?

  • Slow motion videos and distorted sound

Hi, using Vista, IE9, latest verison of Flash, video goes into slo-mo after a few seconds and sound distorts. Any ideas?

To help troubleshoot could you give us the exact version of the version of Flash that is installed?
    Flash   Player version
When reporting issues with video or audio, it's also helpful to get your system hardware and driver details.  Instructions for finding this information can be found here:
    dxdiag report instructions
Finally, sometimes video and audio problems are caused at a lower level and not directly related to Flash Player.  I recommend trying both of the links below to see how they perform.  If the problem exists with both, then Flash Player is most likely not the culprit as the HTML5 video link does not use Flash Player when playing.  You can verify the use of HTML5 by right clicking the HTML5 video and looking for the words "About HTML5" at the bottom of the context menu.
    HTML5   video
    Non-HTML5 video

  • Video is distorted when transferring from a VHS

I have tried several times to transfer VHS tapes into iMovie on my MacG5 via a pinnacle movie box dv. The tapes tends to start transferring well, but then I see momentary glitches where the video becomes distorted and the sound pops. Any idea why this could happen and how to prevent it?

There are no settings on the PInnacle to adjust. I have used the Pinnacle before, and every so often I will get these slight glitches. Its strange - you might think its the pinnacle, BUT the same glitch happens at the spot on the tape every time which may lead one to think its the tape. But if I play the same tape on my TV, there is nothing wrong with it. Any ideas?
Could it have anything to do with the FW ports on the G5?

  • Sound distortion in most recent episode of Lost

    Hi all,
the most recent episode of Lost plays on my Apple TV with really bad sound distortion starting from 4.23 and continuing to the end.
I have a series pass so the episode downloaded onto my Apple TV. The file that has synched with my Mac plays fine in iTunes. I've changed the sync options to remove that ep of Lost from the appletv and then synched back, but it still does it. The episode is Lost s6 e6 'Sundown'. Has anyone else had this issue? I don't want to watch it on my laptop, I really need it to work on the Apple TV!
    Thanks
    Caspar

Not the best solution, but at least you'll be able to watch this episode on the Apple TV.
    Either:
Switch Dolby Digital Out to Off in Apple TV's setting. The episode will then play the Stereo AAC track instead (which is fine, btw). Problem is, you'll have to switch Dolby Digital Out back on if you want surround sound back for other content.
    Or:
    Download an App called Subler.
Open the HD Episode of Lost in Subler.
You'll see that subler lists the video track and two audio tracks. The Digital surround track is not ticked, but this normal and is not the cause of the 'static problem'
Select the surround track and click the delete button.
Save the file and re-sync to Apple TV.
It will now play in stereo.

  • Sound distortion - Pavilion DV6-3040sa

    Hi,
When i was at university, i had to connect my laptop via ethernet to gain internet access as there was no wi-fi connection in student halls. The sound distortion was quite bad. I couldn't even listen to music or watch video's as the sound would go distorted. It got worse if i tried streaming videos off the internet such as youtube. When i returned home, i connected to the internet via wi-fi and i didn't seem to experience any sound distortion. The sound was fine except for the odd occasional distortion but it wasn't a big problem. I assume it is something to do with the network cards? If someone could help me fix this problem, it would be much appreciated. I'd like to enjoy my music and videos without any distortion again
    Thanks,
    Kin.

Uninstall both audio and network drivers through Control Panel > Programs and Features, reboot the computer and install updated one from here

  • Audio sound distorted since 10.6.3 and Pro Apps 2010-01 - bug iTuneshelper

As of OS X 10.6.3 and Pro Apps Update 2010-01 (FPC 7.0.2) I was encountering in both video sound and music sound tracks odd and somewhat unpredictable audio distortion (wrong pitch and left and right stereo sound running out of sync).
This problem seemed to pop up around the end of March 2010.
I have determined that it is related to iTunes 9.0 which has placed in my startup items iTunesHelper which is a startup item, just after AdobeResourcesSynchronizer, iChat and Stickies. I am not certain if it is the order of the startup that introduces the problem or the version of iTunes (which currently is now 9.1).
If you have this item in your startup, just delete it and perhaps your audio problems will go away.
    Don

Had the same exact problem. Just got off the phone with Apple Support. The tech asked me to create a test administrator account under Accounts in Systems Preferences. Then log out of account you are currently using and log in to the test account. If you are like me then you will find Adobe Reader and Adobe Acrobat under Applications. Open Adobe Reader and choose to update it. I actually did not have to choose anything as the program began to update both itself and Acrobat Pro automatically. It will take about 10 minutes, depending on speed of internet and computer speed. Once completed, then logout and log back into your normal administrator account. Both programs should now be updated and you can use them. Delete the test administrator account you created. And, good luck on that school work.

  • Music sounds distorted

Ok, so someone stole my 30gb video ipod. I was able to get a 60gb video ipod from a friend. I plugged the 60 gb into my itunes that i was using for my old ipod and transferred all of my songs onto the 60gb. However, now when I play songs on my 60gb the songs sound distorted but they weren't that way on the 30gb....
So, is it a problem with my itunes (trying to load too much at one time), or is it a problem with my computer (computer too slow to handle all that activity at once) or is it a problem with the ipod itself?

Sometimes iTunes won't be able to handle a lot of music (50 or more) so try not to transfer big hunks of music. Also check to make sure the EQ isnt on like Bass Booster of something, set it to like off or flat. This is not a problem with your computer. If that doesn't work, it could be a problem with your headphones. Sorry to hear that happened to you.

  • Phone speakers stopped playing music or video sound?

Phone speakers won't play music, game or video sound.  Headphone jack, Bluetooth & docking stations work fine.  Ringtones work.  Reset phone but didn't solve problem

    Hello Abbercrombie,
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
For more information, take a look at:
iPhone: No sound or distorted sound from speaker
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts5180
Verify that the volume is set to a level you would normally be able to hear.
Ensure that there is nothing plugged in to the headset jack or the dock connector.
If the iPhone is in a protective case, make sure that the speaker port isn't blocked by the case.
Make sure that the speaker and dock port aren't clogged with debris. If necessary, clean it with a clean, small, dry, soft-bristled brush. Carefully and gently brush away any debris.
If an audio issue occurs when using a specific application, try testing other applications to see if the issue persists.
If the iPhone is paired with a Bluetooth headset or car kit:
    Try turning off Bluetooth.
If you experience difficulties with the Bluetooth feature, follow these troubleshooting steps.
    Restart the iPhone.
If restarting doesn't fix the issue, ensure that your iPhone is updated to the latest version of iOS.
    Have a nice day,
    Mario

  • Sound Distortion playing DVDs with Audigy2 Va

Last time I have problems playing DVD movies on my computer: The sound is distorted
by scratches like an old vinyl. I am using a SB Audigy 2 on Win XP. I have tried several software DVD players, reinstalled the old drivers from CD and cleanly installed teh newest drivers via internet auto update. I also tried to update my VIA chipset drivers, deactivated several background programs etc.
I found out that disabling the sound acceleration in DXDiag removes the sound distortion but then the sound (speech, effects) within a movie are extremly quiet compared to the music.
Another thing: First I deinstalled completely the software and drivers from my audigy to replace it with new ones. Then I had to notice that the new Audio Control Center does not support the option to send bass-frequencies to my subwoofer. I could set the speakers to 5. but had no chance to get my subwoofer working. At the moment I have status quo by using new drivers, but my old creative applications for configurating my speakers.

Ijust checked the preferences, go to Disc Setup and on the bottom in the Audio section, check off the box that says "Disable Dolby dynamic range compression" see if that helps.

  • Output sound distortion when USB Mic Connected

    Hi everyone,
Really appreciate anyone’s help on this sound distortion problem.
I have been using the new 2014 iMac 27' for last 8 Months, bought Brand New, and recently updated to Yosemite. Everything worked fine including recording, until this update.
I'm using Blue Yeti USB Mic for recording, and few days after the update I was trying to record in GarageBand and the output sound (via headphone connected to USB MIc) started to distort and then suddenly dropped the bitrate/ sound and I could only hear some clicks. I reinstalled the GargeBand, still its the same distortion happens. The sound gets back to normal, only for few seconds, after I unplug the USB cable from the Mic device. And I tried changing the bit rate and again sounds starts to drop after few sec. This happens only when I connect the Blue Yeti USB Mic and sound output from the Mic itself. Same thing happens with iTunes as well. Output sound from Internal mic and speakers are working fine as normal.
I tried connecting the USB Mic to my Windows laptop and its working fine with the Cubase 5 without any problem. So the problem is with the output sound, when external Mic connected.
I don’t know the solution for this. Have checked on every single blog/ thread, sill couldn’t find the answer I’m looking for, to fix this.
It would be great if you have any kind of a solution for the same.

Nope. The larger buffer didn't work. What did work was running a cord out of the 1/4-inch jack from the direct box to a 1/4-to-1/8-inch adapter and then into the mic/line-in jack on my computer. I set GarageBand to use the built-in line-in and had no static problems. It's a stopgap until this gets fixed.

  • Video sound to TV won't run through headphones

    Hi,
I have my stereo and TV hooked up to a MacMini (the 2009 slim metal one with the optical drive).  I have a headphone splitter attched to the headphones jack going to the TV and the stereo.  The Mini is hooked up to the TV with a mini DP connector to a DVI-to-HDMI cable (but this same thing happens with a regular DVI cable).  With my old 2,1 Mini that was fine since everything ran through the headphones.
Now I want to do the same thing but iTunes I can't get the video to run through the headphones.  The only way I get sound to the TV is to run it through the HDMI output (even when using the mini DP).  But then I have to manually change the sound output.
    Is it possible to either:
    1. Have iTunes run out the headphones jack and everything else run out the HDMI?  or
    2. Have everything run out the headphones output?

    Info to add:
When any digital video is plugged into the Mini, the video sound only works when it's set to HDMI.
To get sound to my stereo I have to switch it to headphones.  Even though I have a connector going from the headphone jack to the DVI audio input on my TV, there's no sound in headphone mode.
I tried an external USB sound card and had the same problem.  Just instead of headphones it was the USB soundcard.
    Maybe it's my TV...
