The fix is to install/update to Versamail 3.5.5
I've searched, but I'm unable to find a download of Versamail 3.5.5.
Anyone know where I can find an installer for Versamail 3.5.5

It is found in the download section for the Verizon Treo 755p support page via here . Click the download tab and in the downloads and updates section go into Bonus Software section at the bottom. Due note that this version will only work on the Verizon Treo 755p.
However for your issue, you first need to hard reset the phone, rename your backup folder, rehotsync, and then run this installer.

Versamail Exchange ActiveSync wireless push e-mail ONLY; Sync Contacts/Calendar via Desktop/USB

I use a 3rd party conduit, PalmPilot Link for Commence RM CRM software from Commence Corp. which works with the Palm Desktop sync engine to sync my Contacts, Calendar, Tasks and Memos. Recently I tested VersaMail 3.5.5 on my Rogers Treo 680 (despite zero support from Rogers) with push e-mail and loved it until I discovered I could no longer sync my Contacts and Calendar with Commence. Even with the options in VersaMail to sync Contacts and the Calendar unchecked they would not sync via the USB cable to Commence.
I have come across Palm Article ID: 42600 which states "Once you establish an Exchange ActiveSync account in VersaMail, you will not be able to sync Calendar, Contacts or Email through the USB HotSync cable". It would be nice if this wasn't the case when synching of Contacts and the Calendar are turned off. A call to technical support confirmed there is no way to do what I need with the current product version.
I have found a competitive product, RoadSync from DataViz does allow me to sync ONLY e-mail with ActiveSync so it would seem to be technically possible. The problem with RoadSync is it's not a true push e-mail on the Treo 680 as far as I can tell and it seems a little pricey with fewer features than VersaMail, except for one feature which is very important to anyone who depends on 3rd party conduits.
Please consider releasing a new version or a patch to allow synching Contacts and the Calendar via USB while using Exchange ActiveSync push e-mail.
Note: The Commence CRM product for Windows has been around for almost 20 years and has supported the Palm OS for about 10 years. Commence users everywhere would love this feature in VersaMail. I do not work for Commence Corp. but have been a user since 1991 and a Palm user since 1999.

How to set "from" field in Versamail 4.0.1 EAS / Palm Centro Verizon

I have set up a Palm Centro to sync via Activesync using Versamail 4.01.00. All seems to be working normally but there doesn't seem to be a place to set the senders proper first and last name as the sender. When I send an outbound message the recipient receives the message from login "username" instead of "Firstname Lastname". Anyone know where to change this?

Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync Error Message using VersaMail

Device: Treo755p (Sprint), Palm Software
Platform: Windows 2000, Outlook 2003
When I go to my work e-mail account using VersaMail, the following message appears:
IT Policy Update. Your IT administrator has updated the password policy that applies to your phone. Press OK to go to the Security application now. You won't be able to sync with Exchange until you change your password.
When I click "OK," another message appears:
IT Policy Update. Your administrator requires a password with at least 152 characters.
When I click "OK,", it takes me to the Security settings on my phone. I've never set up a password on my phone before, so I don't know why this is happening. I already checked with the IT guy and they haven't changed anything on the server.
I tried a soft reset and nothing happened. I also tried to setting it up again as a new e-mail account, but Exchange ActiveSync isn't even an option when trying to pick the Mail Service. So something is screwy with the phone/software.

Failed to update Versamail on Centro

Hello,
I've tried to update the Versamail by downloading the latest version from www.palm.com/us/support/downloads/versamail/vm4updater.html directly to my Centro
I followed all the instructions, succeeded to download, but when I reached the step when I had to click on the "Install email" icon an error message appeared:
Note the files listed below and contact support. Press OK to reset your device. Run the install again.
_VM_TMP_NVS
(I tried to start email anyway but Versamail would not open and would show instead an error message: ERROR_MEMORY)
What next?

Verizon 755p; using Versamail; cant sync contacts & calendar

I am having a sync conflict....
I HAD been able to sync Contacts & Calendar via USB but once I started using Treo for emails, have been unable to sync ever since. Very frustrating. Hours upon hours trying to figure it out.
Went to advanced settings in Wireless Sync (to "Enable other sync apps") but still can't sync to Palm Desktop. I am using Versamail for my two gmail accounts. No need to use Wireless Sync.. Can I just delete WS?
Any suggestions please?

Hello tweetie and welcome to the Palm forums.
Did you check the Verizon Wireless Sync software for settings that disable wired sync support? I have a Sprint Treo and I can't test this out for you. Other posters have reported similar issues and the Wireless Sync software settings are sometimes the cause for the inability to perform a wired sync of calendar and contacts.

No pictures in Versamail

My emails show no pictures in Versamail. I have HTML checked. Has anyone had this problem?

What format are the pictures in?
These are the supported formats for viewing on the 700P.
Photos and Images (JPEG, BMP, WBMP, GIF)
If the picture is not in this format it will not open.
Additional third-party software on the smartphone may allow additional attachment types to be opened. You will need to search the internet for such a program that is compatibile with the Palm OS.

VersaMail 3.5.0 & 3.5.4

I have a T|X and want to know if both versions are applicable
for the T|X? What do the two versions do, in other words is it better to buy
3.5 vs. 3.5.4, because of compatibility problems with the T|X? Or get the
earlier one and then upgrade to the 3.5.4?
After trawling through HP (Palm) website and other forums which
unfortunately point to PockerGear I cannot find the site to buy these two upgrades
or finding out their specific benefits or enhancements to the T|X VersaMail 3.1C.

it was a brighthand thread on June 10 2007. VersaMail 3.5.1 was a Treo 700p
upgrade that cost at that time $10. As per the thread it has other side benefits. Therefore
the Snapper mail solution does not work as I am trying to upgrade other Palm proprietary
applications in ROM as well as improving Blazer. Read the thread it was a
surprise to me and the upgrade I think is worth the money.
Are you able to point me to where I can purcahse the upgrade?

Versamail error: Time out reading body

I have Versamail version 3.1B
When I select "get " for my AOL email, I receive an error message "Time out reading body"
When this occurs I do not receive any of my email's. I am able to send email, however.
My software version on the phone is 1.12-SPCS

Versamail Sync with Exchange error

I owned a treo 600p that worked great in syncing with Microsoft Exchange. After my phone died, I was givin the 755p. Now I cannot sync to exchange at all. I have the program setup correctly and used the Certificate Modification Tool to download my certificate from my company to the Treo. When I try to sync, I get the message that it is forming secure connection, then I get the following error:
"There was a problem with syncing. The server cannot confirm this device is yours (unable to recognize your SSL certificate). Check the dat"
When I select the details button, I get:

I'm currently haveing this same problem. I'm in the process of trying to get a valid CA from my IT department...we'll see how it goes!
Where is Palm and or Versamail on this issue anyway? I love my phone, but I'd be willing to stray from them if this cant be resolved.

Versamail Suddenly Stopped Working

suddenly monday at 3:30PM my centro stopped pulling emails from the server -although i am getting them on my desktop, i can get on the web (on the centro), i can SEND (!?) from the versamail account and I can get my AOL through both Versamail (although not all of them seem to come in timely) and the AOL for Palm icon.
So, everything seems to be working internet wise, except that i think the ATT server is not talking with the Roadrunner server to pull in new emails.
no one can figure out what is not right - it seems to be aserver to server issue, but does anyone have any insight? my device is set up correctly and again,that it suddenly stopped pulling in the emails, but everything else is perfectmakes no sense. I've been using palm for work for the past 4 years - before this was a treo.
i have deleted and reset the versamail about a dozen times, i have soft booted the device at least that many times and when i run through a check to see if the set up is correct and i get a success! message saying that all is fine. then i try to get my emails and according to the device, i don't have any - although my desktop has them all just fine. i've been through ATT (store and online tech support 3 times in last 24 hours, not their problem) and Roadrunner - who says it is not their problem either. The last ATT support conversation resulted in a hard boot of the device, wiping out EVERYTHING, not of which synced when i reinstalled. so i am tired and cranky having to reinstall my phone book my memos my calendar, etc. for the past 7 hours.
i am EXTREMELY upset and pissed... it's impacting business greatly since i am out of the office at meetings for most of my day and i cannot respond to clients.

Sending has been no problem, which is what's perplexing everyone. well, that and that i can get on the web, get my AOL, etc. Been on the phone with EVERYONE... Just got off (again) with the Palm support dude, who, besides sounding like he would rather be playing frisbee, suggested that i do a hard reset of the phone (DO NOT DO THIS! THEY ALSO HAD ME DO THIS THE OTHER NIGHT AND DON'T TELL YOU THAT IN ORDER TO SYNC YOUR PHONE TO YOUR BACKUPS, YOU HAVE TO DELETE ALL VERSAMAIL FILES IN THE BACKUPS OTHERWISE YOU ARE RECOGNIZED AS A NEW USER COMPLETELY AND YOU HAVE REINSERT EVERYTHING IN YOUR PALM!!!! THAT WAS 12- 6 AM).
So, when i told him that was a no-go, he suggested I try Snapperfish and so far it seems to work, but i really don't like the application. besides, i would have to buy snapperfish after my 30 day demo is done.
His sage estimation as to what is the problem with Versamail was "dunno, probably some bug"
Anyway, snapperfish it is until i get a new phone

Issues with versamail..how do i fix it?

i am new to PDA's in general and i did something i don't know how to fix. i was trying to set up my yahoo and gmail thru versamail and i ran into a problem. i was able to set up my gmail acct and after i registered w/ "my treo" i wa able to get messages to my versamail home page. i had to call the tech at sprint to fix my issue w/ my yahoo email since it's a free yahoo acct and not a "plus" and afterwards when i tried to get mail on versamail i got the error: Err invalid username/password. so i deleted my versamail thinking i could just start over which i can't do.
my gmail acct is still there but now i get the error: "all accounts are in use. deleted accounts can be re-used after performing a hotsynch. make sure the versamail conduit is turned on and not set to do nothing"
what does this mean and how do i get my versamail back? i haven't performed the hotsynch yet in case theres another way to fix it. will i have to do a hard reset?
please help. if the question sounds stupid i apologize. as i stated above, i am new to PDA's in general.

I'm in the same boat. I'm on a MAC so I have to use Missing Sync to sync iCal & Mail with my PDA. So, no Versamail conduit to make sure is not set to 'Do Nothing'.

I'm having problems with the versamail on my treo 680 (unlocked). When I tryed to syncronice my Exc. Active sync account the phone perform a hard reset........
It seems that I need to re-install or repair the versamail application.... but I don't know how to do it? I tried installing the versamail 4.0 (for centro) but I obtained the same result..... sync and hard reset
Where can I found the installer of the versamail software? version 3.5.5? It is possible to re-install the OS complete in the phone? (garnet v.5.4.9)

To restore your device to the Factory Defaults, a "Hard Reset" has to be performed. Note: This will completely erase all your user data and any programs you've installed!
If you've done a recent Hotsync, you can perform the Hard Reset, then HotSync again and choose your original account name.
I would test VersaMail first before HotSyncing to verify if the problem is saved on the computer...

While pressing and holding the Power button down, tap and release the Reset button in back and continue to hold the Power button down. When the grey Palm logo appears, you can release the Power button.
You should now see the warning page in about 5 languages. Press the UP direction on the 5-way pad to complete the task. Your Palm will reset itself several times as it re-installs the original programs and erases all your previous data.

Why does VersaMail cause system reset after HotSync?

On a clean factory default setup Treo 650, I can set up one account -- my SprintPCS account -- on VersaMail and successfully use VersaMail to download and send emails. After a HotSync with my Outlook Calendar, Contacts, Memos and Tasks, I see the following errors in my sync log. Then, when I attempt to launch VersaMail, the 650 always immediately performs a system reset.

I was on the line for over an hour covering the same ground I had before calling them. Because this is related to two PalmOne software products -- HotSync and VersaMail, I figure you guys would have a better idea where to start troubleshooting and ultimately resolving this.

I think I went to www.palmgear.com, and searched for filez, and found it there. to be more specific about your question, though, are you asking how to install files to palm in general (i doubt that just from reading your thread), or rather how to find the filez file in the first place?

strange, too - and you might watch out for this if you have agendus installed on your treo - now when i click on the calendar button next to the phone button, the palm does a soft reset - VERY annoying. I haven't gone through the trouble of finding a fix for that one yet, but will search one of these days...

Versamail and Exchange Activesync

I currently own a Treo 755p with Verizon service. I have been trying to set up my Versamail v3.5.5 with Exchange Activesync and I keep getting errors when I try to set it up. It used to work when my company was using Exchange 200, but ever since my company switched to Exchange 2007 I have been getting these errors. In reading some of the forums it looks as though Versamail 3.5 does not support Exchange 2007. If that is the case is there going to be any update released, or is there anything I can do to get Versamail to work with Exchange 2007, assuming that is the problem? Thanks for your help

Well after reading your response I reset my settings for exchange in versamail and everything seemed to work just fine.The email, calendar, and contacts synced. Everything was running fine yesterday but when I tried to sync today I got the same error that was appearing before. The error message I am getting is listed below.

Where is the To: Field on Versamail?

I noticed versamail does not show the to: field? how do I know if the email was sent to me directly or whether I was cc'd?
also anyone know (for sure) if palm will continue providing updates to versamail?

In VersaMail on the Centro, at the top of the VersaMail window with a message open, there is an icon that looks like a sheet of paper, on the right side just to the left of the signal strength indicator. If you tap that icon, it toggles between showing the full header (including recipients, and date) or just the sender's name.
As for VersaMail updates, my guess would be that no further development will be done. There will be no more Palm OS devices developed or sold, so I seriously doubt that Palm will invest any money in developing updates for it.
