Version 1.0.1 with windows 7

Can anyone help?
I have this version which I am used to and don't want to pay for another as I don't use much of it.
Does anyone know if I can install it on my new laptop?
I understand that the serial number is likely not to be identified.
I contacted Adobe and couldn't help me and couldn't identify the serial number.
I have 8 numbers and then letters and numbers divided by commas.

. It sounds hopeful but reluctant to try as I've waited ages for this new computer and can't afford to mess it up so soon!
So no I havent tried yet as someone found it crashed theirs when they tried.
Hoping for more positive feedback like yours.
I havent backed up my info yet so I guess that comes first.
Have also looked into some alternatives to Adobe but havent found anything that has cloning tool as well as crop, sharpen and rename which is all I really use. Was hoping as I have te original disc that it was going to be the best and quickest soloution.
But you've given me hope.

    I think you mean Photoshop CS2.  Photoshop 2 is from around 1992.  The old Adobe activation servers were taken down. CS2 is about a decade old Adobe made a new download for old customers that legal customers can download and install. Download Acrobat 7 and CS2 products

    Firefox 18 (the latest version of Firefox) works on XP with Service Pack 3. Expect Firefox to continue to support XP for several more years, just stay up with the updates :)

    Well you should have said NT4 in first post and then I would have told you that Firefox 2.0.0.20 was the last to work on Win 98/NT4 while 1.5.012 was the last for Win95 as Fx 2.0.0.* tended to crash or freeze on startup.
    The error means either OLEAUT32.DLL is corrupted or outdated. A fresh install of Windows 95/98/NT4 can give this error. Also the corruption can occur if while installing a software it insists on installing a older version of OLEAUT32.DLL.
    Been four or five years since I really saw anybody post about this error on Firefox startup.
