Version 11.6.3.633 silent install is broken again

Deja-Vu... Trying to use the /S switch with 11.6.3.633 results in the installation failing becuase of that freakin' google toolbar again. The install screen for the toolbar ignores the /S switch, again. Well, at least the people creating the installers are consistent in their inconsistency. Here's a radical idea that could fix that issue permanently, - and for all of the Adobe installers: Quit adding on third party installers. If we want Google toolbars or McAfee virus scanners, we can go get them. (Chances are, we already have them.)

I suspect the original poster is using the EXE (thus the /S switch).
Looks like the updated sw_lic_full_installer.msi file got posted about 20 minutes ago. You want a file size of 17,562,112. It looks like it was replicating around for a few minutes, but it should be stable on the new version now for downloading.

Silent install and activation of 50x copies of PhotoShop Elements 12 TLP

I am trying to deploy a 50-user TLP licence of PSE12 to 50 PCs without having to visit each PC, as was possible with previous versions.
I have the silent install completing without error but the product is not activated, and needs me to sign in with an Adobe ID on each PC. Even once per PC, this is not acceptable for a network install.
Also I note that end users can Sign Out of the Adobe ID thereby deactivatingthe software for all users of the PC, until I revisit and sign in again. And no, we are not going to give all users the Adobe ID credentials. Even before events of the past week
The PSE12 install logs shows "Override files does not exist . Overwrite the value of Override dir to be a blank string" - it is not finding application.xml.override, even though the file is definitely accessible in the right places and is in UTF-8 format.
(In addition, therefore, updates are not suppressed.)
My hunch is that the application.xml.override mechanism has been removed from PSE12 because of the new Adobe ID sign-in requirement?
I'm aware that AMEE is not application to PSE deployment.
I'd be grateful for assistance on this.

I did all required steps, as you mentioned above to serialize Adobe Elements 12, but it was not successfull. I had an return code=14 in oobelib.log.
What I did:
1) Installed "Adobe Photoshop Elements 12" on the machine
2) It has been successfully installed.
3) I opened "Command-line" cmd.exe as administrator (I have an administrative privileges on that machine)
4) Run following command:
adobe_prtk.exe --tool=VolumeSerialize --generate --serial="my_serial_number" --leid="V7{}PhotoshopElements-EMT12-Win-GM" --regsuppress=ss
where my_serial_number is my actually serial number with dashes.
5) After few seconds I got following:

having major issues with a silent install to 3300 users.
I Have a vb script that runs in SCCM to install reader 10.1.0 (MUI) and the increnetal patches for 10.1.1 and 10.1.2 both MUI. I have created a transform to not use a desktop icon, turn on protect mode and supress the eula. 3 problems.
1. The script searches for old versions and completly install the mui version over all with the following command line:

Problems on about 100 computers so far:
1. If the system had 10.1.1 and not the 10.1.1 MUI and 10.1.2 MUI stay in Add Remove Programs
2. Systems that get the full uninstall and reinstall even if adobe is closed and browser is closed and user can not read files from the web or email after the complete install to 10.1.2 mui. Adobe works locally.
3. Some systems appear to upgrade fine.
HELP PLEASE!!!!

With Administrative Installation Points I've always found it best to remove the old version first with a script using [msiexec.exe /x {APPLICATION_GUID} ] before installing the new AIP. You should read the documentation about 10.x AIP though.

I don't know your more details about how you pretend to deploy your Adobe Reader but I did this to my current deployment and many people on the company are happy with this:
1- I extracted the contents from the Adobe Reader installer.
2- I modified the MSI using Customization Wizard to hide some menus (Maybe you can skip this step if you don't need to customize it)
3- On SCCM 2012 I created a Script deployment with a CMD file which contains the following command for silent install. (You don't need to have an SCCM infrastructure to deploy it but it will help)
start /wait msiexec /i "%~dp0AcroRead.msi" /q TRANSFORMS="%~dp0AcroRead.mst" PATCH="%~dp0AdbeRdrUpd11001_MUI.msp;%~dp0AdbeRdrSecUpd11002.msp"
or
msiexec /i "%~dp0AcroRead.msi" /q TRANSFORMS="%~dp0AcroRead.mst" PATCH="%~dp0AdbeRdrUpd11001_MUI.msp;%~dp0AdbeRdrSecUpd11002.msp"
- On my case I used %~dp0 because I'm installing from a server caching files on client machines but if you pretend to test and install it locally avoid using: %~dp0 and put your absolut path. Like C:\Temp or your MSI and source files location.
- Start /wait - Will execute your MSI installer file and then once is finished will proceed with the next command if any.
- Transforms- will force the MSI to apply the custom settings I did on Customization Wizard)
- PATCH- command will proceed to install the patches you may have at the moment 11.0.1, 11.0.2, etc...

Since in the silent install EULA is never accepted and user has not specified any country value, hence I don't believe you will be able to get away from seeing these two dialogs. For registration dialog, there is a way to suppress it during silent install.
You can send a private message to Aanchal and hopefully, she will get back to you with more information.
You are correct, silent install instructions for PSE 7 wont work for PSE 8.

Trial version is only provided in Acrobat Professional and not Acrobat Standard. If you need trial, pls. use Acrobat Pro installer instead of Acrobat Standard.

Adobe Reader 8.12 Silent Install Breaks If same version already exists (New)

June 2, 2008 I built a silent package that works fine but silent install breaks if the machine already has same version of adobe reader installed. Is there a way to check before the installation begins and cancell the install without prompting any screens to the users. I want to push this silent package to 600 machines but when silent install breaks, it prompts the user to remove or repair AR. Can someone pls. help with this....thanks.6049212177

PSE 10 and Adobe CS6: When running silent install help is not working afterwards

I'm not sure if this is the correct forum. If not: Please help me find the correct one.
I have a big issue with Adobe CS6 (and former versions like Photoshop Elements 10): When installing it from DVD running GUI everything is working fine afterwards. If I install e.g. Photoshop Elements 10 using "Silent Installation" help is not working afterwards. It states that it cannot locate the URL. I have not installed AIR and also do not plan to install it.
I have 'played' a little around with Common Files\Adobe\helpcfg and help directory. Now at least I do not get an error message but still it's not the online help which opens in the browser but the web page that is defined as 'home'.
The same I see now in Adobe CS6. I have e.g. packaged After Effects and Illustrator and when deploying it I'm not able to open help as well and I fear that this is the same issue.
Has anyone deeper knowledge about how "helpcfg" is working? Any example files? Any other help appreciated as well.

@hannilator Have you checked the exceptions folder contents for instructions on how to push to logged off computers? Here's what I get when I package CS6 (DesignWebPrem) and excude AIR/CHC:
After you have deployed the package, separately install the products in the exception folder.
IMPORTANT: Before you install the products in the exception folder, refer to the following Adobe Knowledgebase article for information on installing these products and configuring the settings correctly:

How can I do a silent install of Firefox 23 since the -ms switch doesn't work?

I have been able to do a silent install of all the previous versions of Firefox using the -ms switch. But when I use it on the new version, the user interface comes up and it never did that before. I have tried different silent switches but non of them worked.

Not the most experienced at this but are you using the stub installer, maybe you can try the classic installer and try again?

Fully automatic silent install of 1.4.2_10

We're using Citrix Webinterface 4.0 with Citrix Java Client for remote access users (working at home). This works fine with Java 1.4.2_10. It does NOT work with MS Java VM or Java 1.5.x. So we need to ensure employees have Java 1.4.2_10 installed at their home pc's. We do not have administrative control over these pc's. Therefore we need to push the Java 1.4.2_10 software from the same webpage as their Citrix Webinterface login.
QUESTION: I would like to create a hyperlink on the Webinterface login page where users can click to FULLY AUTOMATICALLY download and SILENTLY install the Java 1.4.2_10 software (and NOT the Java 1.5.x which is (non-silently) available at http://www.java.com/nl/download/ie_auto.jsp !!!!!)
How can this be accomplished?

Silent Install of Acrobat 9 Pro

I've seen a few questions about installing Acrobat 9 Pro silently on Mac OS X. Maybe someone's already dealt with this, but I thought it might be helpful. Installing Acrobat 9 Pro silently (and across multiple machines) is possible. I have not, however, figured out how to install Acrobat 9 updates silently (I could just be missing some documentation), so if anyone has any clues on this, please let me know. The key to installing Acrobat 9 Pro silently is licensing the application silently. This isn't documented (as far as I can tell), but you can use an application.xml.override file ( as outlined by the CS3 deployment docs: http://www.adobe.com/support/deployment/cs3_deployment.pdf ) to put in the license information. This file goes in "<path to Acrobat 9 Pro app>/Contents/Resources/AMT/". So here's a possible workflow for setting up a silent install: 1) package Acrobat 9 in a .pkg using Package Maker or a similar tool 2) create an application.xml.override file with the following text, replacing "YOUR KEY GOES HERE" with your key: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <Configuration> <Payload> <Data key="Serial" protected="0">YOUR KEY GOES HERE</Data> <Data key="Registration">Suppress</Data> <Data key="EULA">Suprress</Data> <Data key="Updates">Suppress</Data> </Payload> </Configuration> 3) write a shell script that installs the .pkg via installer (installer -pkg "Acrobat 9 Pro.pkg" -target /) and copies the application.xml.override to the correct directory (cp application.xml.override "/Applications/Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro/Adobe Acrobat Pro.app/Contents/Resources/AMT/application.xml.override") 4) run the shell script with root privileges (via sudo) and you're done! Again, if anyone has clues on installing updates silently, please share.

It sounds like you are trying to use a retail serial as an enterprise serial and would like to bypass it's restrictions by deactivating it . . . I assume that's not possible, but perhaps I don't understand your issue.
I doubt you'll get a good answer on the forum. Try support, your sales rep, or a help link on the licensing web site (if there is one).

Silent install of Oracle WebLogic Server 11gR1 (10.3.6) + Coherence + OEPE

Hi, I'm trying to deploy the Oracle WebLogic Server 11R1 (10.3.6) on multiple computers. So I created a silent.xml file to use in my silent installation. The xml file appears to have the correct syntax. But when I launch the command: oepe-wls-indigo-installer-11.1.1.8.0.201110211138-10.3.6-win32.exe -mode=silent -silent_xml="C:\Temp\silent.xml" -log="C:\Temp\silent-install.log", it crash with these 2 errors.

Problems with silent install of an AS10.1.2.0.2 infrastructure

I created the response file using the -record option for the installer. I then modified the response file according to the instructions in the app server installation documentation. Creating an automated silent install of Acrobat using InstallShield Tuner - Part 1

For anyone who has tried to use the InstallShield Tuner application you'll know how buggy the program is and be aware of the lack of support from Adobe. After 4 months working on and off I managed to get a (mostly) working silent install. I thought I would share my findings with everyone so as to help prevent a few headaches.
Note I am based in England and some of my comments may not apply to US customers.

Acrobat 6.0.1 Admin Install Point Creation & Maintenance
Creating the Install Point
1. Copy files to the network share that will be your Admin Install Point.
For Acrobat Professional these files are on the Acrobat CD
For Acrobat Reader you will need to download the latest version from www.adobe.com. Adobe is using a new compression package called Netopsystems FEAD Optimizer to deliver its Acrobat Reader application. To extract the files double click the downloaded .exe file and wait until the actual Reader installation begins. The uncompressed files are temporarily stored in %system root%\Cache\Adobe Reader 6.x.x\ENUBIG. Copy these files to the network share.
Once the installation files are copied to the network share select them, right click, choose properties, switch off read-only attribute for all files (inc sub folders).
2. Install the InstallShield Tuner 6.0.1 from Adobe Acrobat
(http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/deployment.html)
3. Install the software that you intend to create a .MST file for (Acrobat Reader or Pro) and update it to the same version number as the Tuner (6.0.1 at the time of writing). The latest Acrobat can be downloaded from Adobe as can patches for Acrobat Professional.
Note: After further investigation his step may not be necessary.
4. Due to a bug in the InstallShield Tuner the PCs language and regional settings must all be set to English US. (START Menu Settings Control Panel Regional and Language Options). Set everything to English US.
5. Run InstallShield Tuner 6.0.1 for Adobe Acrobat and when prompted choose Rdr60ENU.itw (for Acrobat Reader) or AcroPro.itw (for Acrobat Writer Pro). These files can be found in the location you specified in step 1.
Acrobat Reader Configurataion
1. When prompted choose Create a New Transform
2. Select Adobe Reader 6.0.1.msi as the base .MSI file
3. Give the .MST file a name
4. Click Create (this may take a minute to process)
5. Configure your install options
6. File - Save
Acrobat Writer Pro Configuration
1. When prompted choose Create a New Transform
2. Select AcroPro.msi as the base .MSI file
3. Give the .MST file a name
4. Click Create (this may take a minute to process)
NOTE: Do not click on the Organisation Product Properties field. If you do the installer will return a transform error when you try to deploy Acrobat. Instead enter these details in the Abcpy.ini file and via the command line. (See step 5)
5. Amend the Abcpy.ini file as below:
ISX_SERIALNUMBER=xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx (where xxxx is your serial number)
USERNAME=xxxxxxxxxx (where xxxx is the users name)
Company name should be entered from the command line (See Installing Acrobat Writer section below)

Ok, I'm not the sharpest pencil in the box. I'm distributing Elements 6.0 from a server and having user go to Start, Run and typing \\servername\project folder name\setup.exe but keep getting the error "Incorrect command line parameters.
