Version 23 very broken.

locking as a duplicate of this - https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/968545''
Between last night and tonight, suddenly I can't load any pages unless I flip back and forth between I.E Tabs. Only difference: Firefox did a bloody update. Why is it that nowadays when a program updates, it always ends up being glitchy or fails entirely. Aren't updates supposed to IMPROVE the program, not break what was already working?
This problem happens on Facebook, twitter, Goodreads, Google, this page... everything. What is the use of having a browser that doesn't work. Come on Mozilla. Please let me roll back to 22. At least that worked. Sorry for the grump here, but I've truly had enough of programs self-"updating" into a version that is crap. With all that programmers have learnt over years of computing, this should not happen any more. If you're going to put out an "update", at least make sure it works fully first. We're not your lab rats for testing.
I've already restarted twice, and once more in safe mode, so please no one give me all the basic advice. Just someone tell the blokes at Mozilla that their update is broken, and they need to patch it. Meanwhile, I'll just run my business loading pages twice in two different browser tabs... or, after more than six years and twenty different version numbers, I might just drop Firefox altogether.
And you know what, till I stuffed around for almost twenty minutes, I couldn't even add my Troubleshooting info from the button below. Guess why? That's broken too. As is the button to enter this form, which took me another half hour. Please fix this.

We consolidated the search engine preferences due to malicious add-ons abusing the search engines in Firefox to raise revenue for themselves by hijacking users and making it difficult to restore the search engine defaults. You have a few work arounds for the issue, the easiest of which will be to install https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/keyword-search/

    my ipod touch recently cracked the screen is not very broken, I'm from Brazil and bought my ipod touch in Miami want to know where I can fix it there in the united states? And how much it would cost?

    Apple will not take it as a trade-in for an upgrade to an iPad touch
    The will take it for recycle only
    Your best bet is to sell it on your own and then use those funds to get the new iPod.

    Hi,
    I am receiving no problem with these links. The port number is correct. The link recommends IE 5.5. Check your browser. It could have also been a temporary problem. Try again.

  • WRT610N Version 1 - Broken link to firmware.

    Title pretty much says it all. The Support page has an option to download new firmware for Ver. 1 hardware, but the link is broken. I am pretty upset you Customer Service guys haven't fiogured it out & fixed this yet
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Thanks, Mort. Read my response to Sabertooth. BTW - the link to the Version 1 firmware points to the same file a the Version 2 firmware, so why not just say that the firmware is the same for V1 & V2 hardware?
    But, long as I have you. I changed my password in "My Account" and have no problem logging in. But, I have to login to the forum using my old password in order to gain access. Why? It isn't a browser depency issue - it is the same whether I use Firefox or Opera or IE in Widnows XP & Vista (x64 versions of both) & isn't OS specific since it does the same in Ubuntu 64 bit, which is my primary OS. Why? And, how do I fix it, seeing as when I request a password change in order to get a match between my forum access and my "My Account" access, I need to use the new password for access to "My Account", and then I can't access the forum anyway.

  • PDF allow from new Version Still Broken

    Enterprise health care web application.. we display pdf's with reports.. we claim our app supports firefox.
    Well since the update to 33.x Firefox no longer opens PDF's, PERIOD!
    I went through your recommendations from this question,, https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/978520 and they are all to no avail.
    Windows RDLC Report viewer renders the PDF we use "iTextSharp" like everybody else, and spew out bytes from the reportviewer control to generate a PDF.
    It's been working fine for like ever.. but since this update we may now need to inform our customers that we no longer support Firefox because they have gone stupid...
    Seriously what the heck ?!?!?
    I'm going to go check Chrome now.. then debug this kraziness...

    You Can't be serious ......suggesting some workaround to bypass the broken functionality. !!!
    You are implying that I direct our ----thousands----- of customers that when they are using Firefox, that they additionally must acquire an appropriate PDF viewer to view the reports that our software produces for them.
    '''UNACCEPTABLE'''
    With all the myriad of issues we as Microsoft developers have with IE and the apparent pervasiveness of this (firefox) PDF display issue , I would think you'd have a fix ASAP .. This looks bad for firefox.... perhaps we will have to replace the recommendation as secondary browser to chrome now .. For the record the PDF displays fine still in IE.

  • Event Handling in swf-version 18 broken ?

    Running this simple example with -swf-version=17  works and i get the console out message "mouseDownHandler" when i press the button.
    #include <Flash++.h>
    #include <AS3/AS3.h>
    using namespace AS3::ui;
    flash::display::Sprite button;

        printf("mouseDownHandler\n");
        return internal::_undefined;
    int main(int argc, char **argv)
        flash::display::Stage stage = internal::get_Stage();
        printf("Hello World\n");
        button    = flash::display::Sprite::_new();
        gfx        = button->graphics;
        gfx->beginFill(0x00FF00, 1);
        gfx->drawRect(100, 0, 100, 50);
        gfx->endFill();
        button->buttonMode  = true;
        button->addEventListener("mouseDown", Function::_new(&mouseDownHandler, NULL));
        stage->addChild(button);
        // Go async so we can handle the mouseDowns!
        AS3_GoAsync();
        return 0;
    In -swf-version=18 i get this error message instead:
    Error: Error #1502: Ein Skript wurde länger als die Standard-Timeout-Zeit von 15 Sekunden ausgeführt.

    What the hell i'm doing wrong ??
    I need version 18, cause of pthread support!

    Looks like a possible bug, but you can work around this by doing an indefinite sleep instead of AS3_GoAsync, like you see with tutorial 9 in the docs where it does "avm2_self_msleep(&mainCond, 0);" at the end of main()

  • Item on screen appears brilliant color, but printed version very dark and untrue to color.

    I have recently received an invitation file for my wedding invitations which are in a very brilliant shade of purple. However, when I had them printed, they turned out a very dark, almost black/blue color. I converted the file from RGB to CMYK as directed, but no color change was observed. I even tried printing a copy at home and I received the same result. No matter how I play around with the shade, the color doesn't even come close to printing true to on-screen color. What am I doing wrong?!

  • Build Distribution - PXI version VERY large

    I have an app that has a PC and PXI version. The PC version is just a CAN (communications) interface, while the PXI version allows control of cards in the PXI box (Switch, DMM, ...).
    In previous versions of Lab Windows CVI I would not include the drivers, only the runtime engine.
    In version 9.0 of CVI, I cannot remove the distribution build that includes a bunch of drivers, so the PC version is just under 15 MB the PXI version is over 800 MB.
    How can I get the drivers to not be included in the build (they are already installed on the PXI boxes)?
    Or, how can I figure out exactly what the heck-fire is so big?

    Hi Ken,
    It is possible to remove all additional drivers from a distribution in CVI by going to Build->Distributions->Manage Distributions. You can then select the distribution and click "Edit". You cen then select the "Drivers and Components" tab and uncheck all the components that are unnecessary including the runtime engine and any drivers. this will ensure that your distribution only includes the files within your application.

    i find the new look quite un-user friendly. also cannot see my summary tab anymore.

    You have to update to 10.6.8 first.

  • ITunes Match Appears To Have 'Broken' A Song

    I haven't seen anything like this particular issue in the iTunes Match–Discussions I scanned, so here goes...
    Recently I have been playing with iTunes Match, and it's been working quite well.  The best way I learn is to actively engage with something, so I proceeded to replace my songs with low bit rates with higher bit rate versions from iTunes Match.
    So, 6000 songs–give or take–over a two day period the process finished, and I am very satisfied with the results.
    Recently I was listening to one of the 'matched' songs I downloaded, Stevie Nicks' "Doing The Best I Can (Escape From Berlin)" from her The Other Side Of The Mirror album, when I noticed breaks in the song.
    I was at the gym at the time, so I assumed that the problem was with my headphones, so I waited till I got home to listen to the track on my computer (the song, before iTunes Match, was intact).
    When I got home I played the song, and noticed breaks at 2:02, 3.28, and 4.30 (when I write 'breaks" I mean there's a second or so of empty space from one part of the song and the next).
    This is really weird, because I know for a fact that the version I had orignally–before using iTunes Match–was pristine, which leads me to believe that the song residing on iTunes Match server(s) is broken.
    I have a copy of this album on CD, so I am going to do an experiment that will prove it definitively:  I am going to delete the version I downloaded from iTunes Match and replaced it with a version from the CD.  Play it, to confirm that it's intact, then download it again from iTunes Match.
    If the CD version is intact, it means there was  iTunes Match version is broken; which means i'll followup with Apple because I'd hate to think that anymore of my songs had this problem (though as I said, I have not seen this with any other songs).

    Hi,
    It would seem that the track that Apple is providing is corrupt. Not a lot you can do other that report problem to Apple. It will be easy for you to restore the original from the CD to play on your computer or sync manually to iOS devices (match needs to be off to transfer track).

  • [solved] Graphics broken in some apps after upgrade

    I did a fairly big upgrade a few day back, after travelling around away from decent internet.  Since the update some of my apps (so far, Firefox, Thunderbird, gnome system monitor but not sunbird) display a completely garbled interface.  The window decoration is fine in most, but not all, cases, but everything else is bad:
    Firefox still works - the box near the cursor is the search box on the google homepage. If I tab through to it I can search and the window title changes accordingly.
    So far I've tried:
    1) deleting my xorg.conf
    2) rolling back (which fixes the problem)
    I tried re-adding packages a few at a time, but that didn't work -  the problems didn't come back till the next reboot or possibly the next restart of X. And I broke pacman in the process, so I'm reluctant to try again.
    As I suspect this is hardware dependent, I'm running a IBM TP41 which has a ATI Mobility Radeon 7500, and I'm using the open source video drivers, not flgrx.
    I'm more or less out of ideas, so your help is appreciated.
    Edit: It's getting late in my timezone.  I'll check back tomorrow.
    Edit2: added solved to title

    I already have radeon.modeset=0 on the end of my kernel line, I think I disabled KMS a month or two ago when it was (very briefly) enabled by default.  IIRC my system was very broken with KMS enabled back then, I haven't tried turning it back on.
    I've found xf86-video-ati-6.12.4-3 to work, and xf86-video-ati-6.12.192-1 not to work, irrespective of ati-dri version. I've just noticed 6.13 seems to be out, so I may try building that with ABS, and see if it fixes it.
    EDIT: or maybe I won't, as that needs xorg 1.8 and I don't have enough time to build that and all it's deps just now
    For now I've just set pacman to ignore the package, which works as a temporary solution. Are there any diagnostics I can do to help pin down the problem?

  • These are very serious problems

    hi
    yesterday i posted some criticism on the practices of the Flash player software developers, using polite and careful words and all in all being fairly accurate in my descriptions
    My voicings were replied to by the top contributor of these forums AND THE ABILITY TO POST OF  MY FORUM ACCOUNT  WAS REMOVED.
    MY FAIRNESS GOT BUTCHERED!
    All in all, the answer he gave did in no way account for all the concerns I raised, but I will to his.
    The stability issues have been steadily increasing for about 2 years and have nothing to do with my system or the size of the Flash player runtime but rather with the internal algorhitms. Like I said my suspicion is a constant favoring of modern chipsets to please "upper range" customers and incite hardware sales.
    My excellent computer runs a slipstreamed windows xp with a careful selection  of software and no malware what so ever.
    Besides Ive noticed problems with the Flash player on a variety of 32bits and 64bit systems runnings windows XP and windows 7
    Comparing a 3MB codec to a multimedia file format such a MP3 is ludicrous and a foolish attempt to deceive people. Multimedia files are very dense and space consuming while 3MB of compiled code is really a huuuge amount. A well written program in assembler grows in the order of kilobytes, not megabytes and the Flash player is probably written in a highlevel framework using a highlevel language, thus aggregating a vast amount of bloat to satisfy debugging and maintenance requirements. Doing this for a technology with such a wide market penetration is irresponsible and selfish practice.
    The user interface issues are obviously present on all systems as well. Give me back my volume slider!  : P
    I realize that the poster in question is trying to get a good standing with the Adobe corporation and possibly land a job or so.
    But there is no excuse for such blatant deception and opressive tactics.
    It is miles below human decency and a telltale sign of the corruption in our society. He or she should be fined or shunned.
    I urge anyone who reads this to examine his life and habits and make a note of where he is infringing on the honesty and the compassion we should uphold to let our lives be of any value. For I am myself guilty of such popular crimes and I promise to undertake stern efforts to counter them as much as I can.
    I pasted the "conversation" fron yesterday below for readers convenience.

    Omg
    How do the developers of the Flash player manage to make a every successive version more broken.
    I remember when the change to hardware accelaration made it impossible for my girlfriend to watch movies on her old computer.
    Now in recent changes to the interface it has become impossible to adjust the volume while the stream is loading and more cumbersome to control the seekbar.
    On top of that Im getting frequent and annoyingly consistent framedrops (about every 4 seconds) on lots of movies from all kinds of sources, using a broadband connection without additional traffic.
    When CPU usage is moderately high these increase in frequency and make downloading the movie beforehand a necessity. (well I should be doing that anyway).
    This has nothing with my hardware of configuration, and Im assuming the cause is newer code favouring newer graphics card chipsets and the such.
    I've 768MB of video RAM etc, most modern (10 years and newer!) cards are beastly machines anyway. A sane and responsible person does not need to and shouldnt do such upgrades.
    It seems like a ruse to incite unrelenting comsuserism. If Im correct in my assumptions its a clear example of professional irresponsibility and modern fascist corporatism.
    Ah well alternatives are bound to come along.
    Ill see yall then

    Re: how do they manage?
    Hi, It always amazes me that often when a person has a computer/video/browser or whatever issue it is, the blame somehow falls on Adobe Flash Player.
    Adobe Flash Player is a browser plugin plus 3 Flash Player files, all under 3MB. An MP3 download is larger than that. Yet, somehow Flash Player is responsible for any and everything that goes wrong with a computer.
    However, evidence clearly shows that Flash Player performs exactly as it should if it's not conflicted with addons/toolbars/old drivers/graphics/anti-virus interference/known programs that conflict/viruses/trojans/malware and more.
    I know you didn't register to seek any help, but thought the other side should have an opportunity to express their opinion also, based on troubleshooting for some time. 98% of the time any Flash Player issue is due to the user and their system configuration. Which 98% of the time can be corrected:-)

  • Cannot open new tabs in same window since FF update to version 15.0

    This morning, FF updated to version 15.0 when I opened it. Now, All links open in new windows instead of tabs like I have it set to do (yes, I've already checked).
    Also, I tried to go to about:config and NOTHING HAPPENS. The address bar is not working. I cannot even get the addon page to open so I can view my plugins/addons.
    Also, when I try to close one of the windows, the whole browser closes. HELP ME.
    This version is BROKEN.
    I need this fixed NOW. I have work to do and this is truly messing up my productivity.

    So no help will be given on this??? Guess I need to switch browsers, then. PERMANENTLY.

  • Lumia 925 + wireless charging back = broken BT voi...

    I'm posting this in case anyone else has discovered this problem.
    I've got a Lumia 925 with the wireless charging back fitted. If I use the phone with a Bluetooth headset to listen to audio on the phone, it is fine. If I use the BT headset, or BT functionality in my car, to make or receive a telephone call, the voice audio is very broken and intermittent. Sometimes ending and restarting the call clears it, but not very often.
    What *does* cure the problem is removing the wireless charging back. I have noted that the phone does NOT need to actually be charging for the interference - it just needs to be fitted.
    I am NOT sure if the problem is being caused by the accessory or by the phone itself. I am arranging for the accessory to be replaced first (less hassle) but it could well be the phone.

    I am having the same exact problem. I was initially thinking that this is some compatability issue between my car's integrated BT support, but as you suggested, once I have removed the charging cover, the issue is gone. What's interesting is that this will continue even if the cover is removed from the phone and until next restart of the phone.
    Anyone has solution to this? BTW: I can confirm that in my previous Lumia 920 and my wife's Lumia 820 with wireless cover this does not happen.
