Version 4 Firefox database is inaccessible to Webroot Window Washer.

When I ran Webroot Window Washer with the previous version of Firefox (3.6.6 I think), the Window Washer program ran fine - cleaned all the Firefox form data, cache, cookies, and other system stuff and etc properly. But with Version 4 Firefox, the Window Washer program will not run past scanning the Firefox cookies. The Webroot error states that the Firefox database is inaccessible to the Window Washer program. Help!

For those having problems with Window Washer failing to process after Firefox 4 files here is a solution. Actually Firefox 4 will do a better cleanup after itself than the options available within Window Washer.
In Firefox 4 - Within Tools/Options:
Check “Clear History When Firefox Closes” then click on the Settings box.
Within the Settings For Clearing History popup:
Check your choices to be cleared and click OK.
In Window Washer within Wash Setup:
Edit Firefox 4.0 and uncheck all options then click on Apply.
If Firefox 4.0 is your only browser you may, within the Internet Options section
Uncheck the Include In Wash option.

I created a folder on the desktop, and tried to put them into it, but that didn't work.

I think there is a problem with the latest version of Firefox. When you minimize one window (doesn't matter how many tabs) on Mac, it automatically minimizes all of the other open windows. This never used to happen.

Whenever you have multiple windows open - say one is your Gmail account and the other is a bunch of pages you're using at work - and then you go to minimize the window with Gmail but intend to continue working on the other open windows. Using Command-M (the minimize shortcut for Macs) unfortunately now sends all open windows to the minimize bar in the lower right. Which means - every time I go to look at Gmail, then put it away, I have to reclick to open all of the other windows I was working in. Can this be fixed? It never used to happen.

Linux users are in a similar boat also as they need certain package versions within the last few years as LTS distros (with outdated packages from 4+ years ago) like CentOS is a bit screwed on newer applications like Firefox 4.0. By your logic Mozilla should also support Linux packages from 10 years ago also which would be a really ridiculous thing to do.
I think only the 64-bit Windows Vista and Windows 7 is really supported or will be rather when it comes to 64-bit builds (still not officially supported yet).

Latest version of firefox program is not compatible with windows 7

After I updated the latest version of mozilla firefox in my laptop which is a windows 7 program,it doesn't work anymore. Every time I open the firefox, the screen goes black and I can't see anything on the screen but black. And when I troubleshoot and fix the problem, it says that "COLOR SCHEMES IS NOT COMPATIBLE WITH WINDOWS 7". Program compatibility is the 1.5 version or 1.0. How to fix this one? I uninstalled and already installed a new one but still to no avail the problem is still the same. Should I install the older version? Where to download the older version? It seems that in mozilla firefox website, only the latest version or the 3.0 version is available.

Why are newer versions of Firefox having problems with UTF-16le (Windows default unicode set)

I have a website that has multiple languages on it, and so I've been using UTF-16le for it. Everything was working well on multiple browsers until the last few months, when only Firefox stopped displaying it properly. I can force the page into UTF-16le, but then some of my graphical links no longer work and I cannot navigate through the pages unless I force every single page to UTF-16le EVERY SINGLE TIME. This problem is not unique to my computer, either, as this has happened with every computer I have tried in the last few months.

As answered before a few weeks back [[/questions/770955 *]]: the server sends the pages as UTF-8 and that is what Firefox uses to display the pages. You need to reconfigure the server and make them send the pages with the correct content type (UTF-16) or with no content type at all if you want Firefox to use the content type (BOM) in the file.

Okay, thanks. Tbh the only advantage I thought of was the ability for it to open in a Windows 8 mode. Basically like how IE 10 does when opened from the start menu.

I cannot update beyond Firefox 8.0. I am running Win 7 and keep getting a message that I need to restart so a previous update can complete. I also get the message that I am not running the newest version of Firefox.

The Google Toolbar is from Google and support for it can only come from Google, and Google has eliminated it from Firefox, and it never was in Google. Even Google has indicated that the features are available in Firefox through other extensions. But the features are really available in Firefox even without extensions from what I've seen because Firefox has very powerful bookmarks and knowing how to use them with JavaScript, substitution, and keyword shortcuts is a key to using Firefox.

If I understand correctly, then to add a new Section to a site, you have to subclass SubSection and somewhow integrate that into the system?
I would be my expectation that you only need to subclass SubSection when you tried to introduce a new type of SubSection.
The title & all other natural language Strings should never be hardcoded in Java code, but rather taken from some external storage (Database, XML, flat files, ...).

Cannot comment or like on Facebook using older version of Firefox.

Whenever I try to Like something on facebook, nothing happens, and when I try to comment, if I write further than the small existing chatbar, it will not scroll to allow me to see what I'm typing. When I hit Enter to make the comment, nothing happens.

I've checked to make sure my JavaScript is up to date and enabled. I've tried turning off all add-ons, and the possible combinations of some on, some off. I haven't been able to try troubleshooting in Safe Mode, because the option to run in Safe Mode is not listed under the Help dropdown menu.

I don't know what versions of Firefox they test against at Facebook. It certainly is possible that some of the scripts have been updated so far that they have become incompatible. Might need to pose that question to Facebook.
First, though, you might test in a clean profile. This will bypass your accumulated customizations and extensions and give a truer answer to "is the problem version 3.6"? A new profile also will have completely fresh settings databases and a fresh cache folder.
Exit Firefox and start up in the Profile Manager as described in [https://support.mozilla.org/kb/Managing+profiles Managing profiles]. Any time you want to switch between profiles, exit Firefox and return to this dialog.
Any difference in how FB works? If the issues are resolved in a clean profile, you might experiment with add-on settings and see whether that could be an issue.
