Version 6 SLOOOOOW Renders

I have been using the latest version of FCP up to yesterday when I upgraded to V6. Renders that were taking 11 minutes last week are now taking over an hour!
Has the code been optimized for Intel? Are us G5 users screwed?

My point is, that wiping everything and starting from scratch, is maybe the ultimate solution, but also the last solution you'll try after trying other. For a lot of folks, who use their macs actually for work, not for playing World Of Warcraft, this means hours and hours of work. Like you said before, applications don't run in a vacuum. Every mac used by a creative professional is a user-generated ecosystem build of different of apps, plugins, software updates, font and stock graphic collections, and I'm not talking about gizmos like Shapeshifter. Rebuilding this takes a lot of time, at least for me. So my post was just a disclaimer, if it was a rude one - my apologies.

Version mismatch between unified rendering and themes in Mime repository.

We are planning to modify the SAP_tradeshowplus theme to include our company logo etc. As a start point we try to download the latest themes using wd_themes program. On execution of the program following message is displayed.
The current version of unified rendering 7.11.3.2.0. All themes in the MIME repository should have this version This is not the
case present. Perform an upgrade. More so sap_tradeshowplus is not listed .
Our system version is mySAP ERP 6.0 + EHP4 + NW 7.01 - SP4 with all the latest notes applied as of 14th Aug 2009. Please advise how we can upgrade the themes to match the unified rendering version.

Thanks for the quick reply. I have gone through the note 1164679 and our intention was never to modify the sap_tradeshow_plus theme. I was just highlighting the point that sap_tradeshow_plus theme is not in the list produced by wd_themes.
Any help or ideas how we can bring the version of unified rendering and themes to the same level. We have a scheduled UAT for one of our major products starting last week of August and the last thing I want to have is the system crash / or dumps because version mismatch between UR and Themes. Please note until so far we haven't had any such issues during our Unit test.

Still frame not included in rendered video file

I've been working on a video project for the last couple of days, and have run into a puzzling issue. My video ends with a still frame that lasts about 3 seconds, with text on top of the image. When I share my video to iTunes and select the "Mobile" size option, the still image shows up fine. When I share my video to iTunes with the "Large" size option, the still image no longer appears under the text. Does anybody know why this would occur? Any help would be much appreciated!

Oddly enough, I went through the whole delete-reinsert routine just before I did the mobile-sized render where the still image showed up. Of course, when I did the large-sized render immediately afterwards, the image was gone. I just went through the whole rigamarole again and am currently rendering an HD version, so we'll see if it works. I figure if I get a successful HD copy of my project, I can always use that to create smaller versions rather than rendering those from iMovie itself. Right now I'm just in wait & see mode.
Unfortunately, adding a few seconds of black after the still frame spoils the effect I'm going for with my project, so it's not a feasible solution in this instance.
EDIT: So the HD version finished rendering, and no still image, sigh. What the heck is going on?

Have you rendered both iOS 7 and iOS 8 (both of which will work on your iPhone 5) out of the question entirely without trying every possible configuration? The animations can be disabled entirely, if that's the problem. And if the whiter-brighter user interface is the problem, there's reverse-contrast modes that darken everything. You can expose accessibility controls to gain immediate access to these functions to toggle them on and off. I guess my point is you may have decided against upgrading the OS based on an early experience with iOS 7 when Apple has since made changes in later revisions to address some of the usability complaints.
Now, Apple's instructions for downloading older versions of apps is to do so from the Purchased list, not from the app's product page.

Should I resize images for mobile version

Should I create smaller versions of images I originally created for my desktop, for my mobile version, for faster rendering? I will obviously lose the accross platform editing, but gain faster rendering on mobile device.

Phone layouts are smaller (by width and height) than desktop layouts, so you might want to proportionally resize the images to fit within the smaller phone pages as well. The actual page content is not added to the phone layout page thumbnail. That is intentional, to allow you to copy just the content you actually want into each page of a mobile layout. As you bring the content you want to add into each new page, you can resize it to fit within the smaller dimensions of the mobile screen.

Master sharper than Version?

In AP 2 I notice that if I view a Master in the Viewer that it appears much sharper than the untouched default Version. (I'm not using Quick preview BTW).
Just wonder why that should be, I would have thought that the default Version would be rendered the same as Master?

No idea. If the master is a RAW, it has to be interpreted via algorithms before rendering and then displayed. A TIFF/JPG etc master still has to be extracted from its file and (in the case of JPG decompressed) before rendering.
Yet a version is (or should be) exactly the same as NO IMAGE DATA exists within a file, merely a collection of rules to apply to the master. So with no RAW or other adjustments made, both images should be identical. Certainly I have never witnessed anything different.
Are you comparing side-by-side and seated square on to reduce effect of LCD panel? Have you tried creating a copy version from master using the menu pick?

How to download preivous version of FF

FF new version is even rendering pages differently and I don't like it. How/where can i find the preivous version for installation. I will use that version until I find another browser to use

After Effects No Smooth Rendering , Help

I downloaded an intro template from here : Free 2D Intro #67 | Sony Vegas & After Effects Template - YouTube
I downloaded both the Sony Vegas and After Effects version .
I rendered the Sony Vegas version in 720p 30 FPS and it looks like 60 FPS

Without knowing exact render settings you used nobody can say anything. Both versions look just fine to me. In fact the AE version actually looks better, so I'm not sure what you are getting at...

IPad Mini Locked & iTunes version problems

My daughter got an iPad Mini for her recent birthday. I also received an iPhone 5 for mine (happy days). My PC is an 8 year old iMac. We have two problems:
*My daughter entered a pass code to her Mini, forgot it and has now locked herself out after too many attempts to remember it (shes 11). All recommended solutions involve using iTunes
* My iPhone 5 will not back up to the version of iTunes that is on the PC, nor will my daughters Mini saying it needs a newer version of iTunes (10.7 or later).
Despite several attempts, my PC refuses to download/support any newer versions of iTunes rendering the stored half of my music/video library redundant and not being able to restore my daughters iPad mini. My questions are:
1. Do I have to purchase a whole new PC just to support our new Apple products??
2. How do we unlock my daughters iPad mini if the PC doesnt recognise it

I assume you are running Windows XP?
Make sure Windows is up to date. iTunes 11.0.4 requires XP to be on at least Service Pack 2 (most current is Service Pack 3).
To check go to Start > Right-Click on My Computer > Properties > General

Rendering on PDAs

Hi--
The last version of iWeb rendered decently on pdas (blackberry, etc.)...the new version has a "blog summary widget" which I presume denotes something lacking that would allow the whole blog content to be viewed.
Any ideas? Maybe it depends on the particular template, but I tried a couple different ones and no change.
Haven't tried it on iPhone yet, didn't render perfectly there either in iWeb '06 --wouldn't that be ironic if iWeb '08 doesn't work....kind like Windows software that doesn't work on windows toys?

I am trying to display "detailStamp" facet selectively .

Use the "detailStamp" facet on the Table to include a collapsable content area for each table row. Please note that the height of the open detail area will be a set height based on the height of the detailStamp component. Adding a component that changes in height (like showDetail or panelBox) will by default produce strange results when the detailStamp component's height changes.
Detail Stamp can be selectively displayed for rows in the table by EL binding the "rendered" attribute of the "detailStamp" facet to "true" or "false". The EL binding can contain references to the table "var" attribute since during rendering it will be executed in the context of the row. Disclosure icon is displayed only for rows which have rendered="true".
I can see that i can achieve it by setting rendered property for that facet. BUT this property is not available in Studio Edition Version 11.1.1.5.0

But I am using Studio Edition Version 11.1.1.5.0 . In this version the property RENDERED of f:facet name="detailStamp" is NOT allowed.

Put in another way , I want to render the "detailStamp" facet selectively for rows , so for that I need the RENDERED property of "detailStamp" facet. This property is ONLY available in Jdev version 11.2 . I am using Jdev 11.1.1.5.0 so I need some alternative to RENDERED property as this property is NOT available in Jdev 11.1.1.5.0.
Please suggest some way to achieve this behaviour of displaying "detailStamp" facet selectively ....

I have absolutely no idea why this is. I havent been able to
test this in internet explorer, but i'm guessing it will show the
same error. My question then is, why is it that the code below
works for one browser and not for another?

Font Rendering
Every browser and operating system and browser and operating sytem version (just about) renders text differently. Chrome on Windows is currently the worst at rendering text, since it's using an old Windows API which uses an outdated anti-aliasing algorithm for the text. So text in Chrome on Windows generally looks worse that text drawn in other browser or on other operating systems. Typekit has a 7 part blog post here <http://blog.typekit.com/2010/10/05/type-rendering-on-the-web/> about all the ins and outs of font display in different browsers and operating systems.
Scroll Effects
Scroll effects are measured from the top of the browser window. Thus when the height of the browser window differs, even on the same computer, where the top of the browser window is relative to your objects when the page is scrolled all the way to the bottom will differ. Without the URL for your site/page, this is only a guess, but I suspect this is what you're encountering.
Several customers have asked for an option to set the key position as a distance from the bottom of the browser window rather than always being from the top in order to create items that have a specific final location when a page is scrolled all the way to the bottom, but Muse doesn't currently have that feature.

IPod (with Dock Connector) 15GB firewire mounting issues with iTunes 7.0.2

Before I sent my iPod in for battery replacement I backed up my music and restored it under iTunes 7.0.2. I then disconnected it, put it in the box and sent it off. When I got it back, I charged it fully with the firewire cable and the wall charger then tried to mount it to refill it with music. It would not mount with the firewire cable. It is charging but will not show up in the finder or iTunes. I noticed that it would not turn off by pressing and holding the play/pause button. I figured it would eventually sleep so I put it into my laptop bag to bring with me to work.
I got to work and borrowed my buddies' USB cable and the iPod is completely dead. Dead like not even a boot screen. Apparently it can no longer sleep and completely discharged during the night. Additionally, the USB cable doesn't seem to be powering or charging it. I plugged it into my workstation using the firewire cable and although it will charge it still will not mount.
After about a half an hour of charging I disconnected the firewire cable and plugged in the USB cable. The iPod mounted into iTunes. I figured I would restore the iPod again to fix the firewire issue so I clicked Restore. I then got a message saying "You must connect using FireWire to restore the iPod." I cannot connect using Firewire.
To recap, I cannot charge over USB, I cannot update over USB and I cannot mount over Firewire.
I reconnected using USB, Quit iTunes without dismounting the iPod then tried to erase the iPod with Disk Utility, which failed. Next the iPod wouldn't even mount under USB so I went into iPod diagnostic mode and found a new line item labeled USB DISK which forced the iPod to become visible to Disk Utility again. I repaired the iPod disk and it will once again mount under USB but will not charge and will not restore.
I have scoured the apple.com site to try and find a way to downgrade my iPod to what it was before 7.0.2 but cannot find anything.
iTunes 7.0.2 has rendered my iPod totally useless. It was bad enough having a battery that was toasted and was glad to finally get that taken care of but now that I have a battery that works I have software that cannot mount via firewire and will not turn my iPod off and drains the battery. Plus with no way to go back to a previous version Apple has rendered my iPod useless.
Help!... please.

I just wanted to chime in and bump this thread. Although I've posted here several times about this exact problem, with no solution found yet, and no response from Apple. I tried rebooting into windows (via bootcamp) and reformatting my ipod from there. However when I downloaded the older version of the ipod updater, i was told that it was expired and a newer version was available (sigh). So I now have a windows formatted ipod that still won't connect via firewire.
I am still able to mount and transfer songs via USB in mac OSX. Luckily I had one of those dual usb/firewire cables, which plugs into the plug charger via firewire, and into the computer via USB at the same time, so my ipod doesn't lose charge.
Hopefully there'll be a fix soon, because this is really frustrating. I've had this ipod for a couple years, and was always proud that it lasted this long... and now this.

Footer is not visible in Table control at runtime

Lightspeed is the name of the rewritten rendering engine in Web Dynpro as of NetWeaver 7.01. It has many new features and in particluar large performance improvements over the 7.0 version of the rendering engine.

You can create a Theme using the Portal Theme Editor or the Eclipse based standalone theme editor. Themes are the only supported way to change the color scheme or design of Web Dynpro applications.

Premiere Pro won't play media intermittently in Yosemite

Hello all,
I have a Premiere Pro CC 2014 (2014.1 Release, the latest one) installed on Yosemite 10.10.
It's running on a Macbook Pro (Early 2011 model) with 16gb of RAM, 512GB SSD, 1TB HDD, AMD Radeon 6750 Card with 1GB of RAM.
On Mavericks 10.9.5 it all ran perfectly.
On Yosemite I have intermittent problem with media playing.
After a restart if I open Premiere Pro and open any of my projects it will say media loaded, however it won't play it. If you hit play nothing happens. The videos won't show either in source window or timeline. Quitting the program results in a hang. I have to force quit the application and than I get an error Premiere Pro encountered a serious error. Upon second program open, the media will work fine and everything will work fine. That's until I turn off the computer or restart it and than it's over again. I have to open the program, force quit it and only than it will work.
I cleared Premiere's preferences, caches, moved media to a different drive, reinstalled Premiere Pro and even clean installed the operating system. The problem persists.
What's interesting is that if I open Premiere after a restart and start a NEW project, import the media and start editing, it will work. When I save it and quit and than open the program again it will show the same problem and I'll have to force quit it after which it will work again.
The only plugin I have is Neat Video 3.6.
This problem is really annoying and I hope someone can help me solve it out.

Shouldn't Adobe be the one updating to account for video card driver changes? I thought that was the benefit of paying monthly?
We test all GPUs with current drivers, but new drivers can come out faster than releases of Premiere Pro. Also, we can't update Premiere Pro every time there is a driver update. That would be pretty difficult to pull off. Sorry.
If not, please advise on which NVIDIA graphics driver will actually work with PrPro. Because this is NOT working. Currently running: CUDA Driver Version: 6.5.45
Typically, we recommend that you install the latest drivers for your GPU. It sounds like you have done so. Most people are having best success with these drivers on systems running OS X 10.10.2. Are you updated to that version?
It renders out complete videos with weird pixel bugs across them.
When did it start behaving this way? After installing the new drivers? After updating OS X? After updating a Premiere Pro project from Premiere Pro CC 2014.1 (8.1) to Premiere Pro CC 2014.2 (8.2)? We need more info to assist you: FAQ: What information should I provide when asking a question on this forum?
Not to mention, it crashes 10 times a day...running back to FCPX.
If you're crashing that many times per day, you should troubleshoot your system with our agents. Contact them M-F 7AM-7PM PST. Ask for the "video queue." You can either chat or get a phone call going: Contact Customer Care
The other possibility is that by updating OS X, you may have changed the read write permissions of crucial Adobe folders. See this article for an explanation and a potential fix:
Premiere Pro CC, CC 2014, or 2014.1 freezing on startup or crashing while working (Mac OS X 10.9, and later)
I also recommend the following steps for Mac users having trouble crashing on Mavericks or Yosemite:
Sign out from Creative Cloud, restart Premiere Pro, then sign in
Update any GPU drivers
Trash preferences
Delete media cache
Delete preview files
Remove plug-ins
If you have AMD GPUs, make sure CUDA is not installed
Repair permissions
In Sequence Settings > Video Previews, change the codec to one that matches your footage
Disconnect any third party hardware
If you have a CUDA GPU, ensure that the Mercury Playback Engine is set to CUDA, not OpenCL
Disable App Nap
Reboot
Let us know if any of these steps worked for you.
