Version 8.5 and Version 11.5 on same machine

I've heard that loading version 8.5 and version 11.5 on the same pc can be done, but the loading needs to be done in a particular order. Does anyone have experience with this?

Assuming you are talking about Crystal Reports and not the Enterprise product, then yes, they can co-exist, and without any "tweeking". You should install Crystal 8.5 first, and then 11.5. Naturally, at that point, the default program for any .RPT file will be the 11.5 product, so, if you need to maintain the 8.5 reports but not upgrade them, you will have to open those files within Crystal 8.5 instead of double-clicking on them from Windows Explorer.

Your System Details are showing Fun Web Products. Suggest you look in Add-ons - Extensions and Plug-ins, and Control Panel>Add/Remove programs or >(newer version) Programs and Features. You could also do a search of your computer.
Fun Web Products(associated with MyWebSearch) always seems to cause problems, Alexa does, too, but less often - there may be conflicts.
I'm not an expert on these two products. I'm afraid I can only alert you to the problems. Google will show you plenty of evidence of problems. You might also try the Search Firefox Help box above - a gold mine but it usually requires a lot of digging.
You can start Firefox in Safe Mode - Hold Shift Key down as you double click on the Firefox icon>ignore the page that opens>Continue. If that improves things you could do a little troubleshooting(Safe Mode, Problematic extensions etc), use default theme, -

Can we have oracle database and gateway for SLQServer on same machine

Can we install oracle database and Gateway for sQLServer on same machine>?
If yes, How does the listener files in gateway home (EG: C:\product\11.2.0\NETWORK\ADMIN) and oracle home (EG: C:\app\Administrator\product\11.2.0\dbhome_1\NETWORK\ADMIN) look like?
Where will we give dg4msql details in tnsnames and listner files?

How to use Forms 5 and DevSuite 10g in the same machine

Hello everybody,
I have installed forms 5 and IDS 10g in one machine and both the versions of the forms were working simultaneously. Now I have un-installed both the versions of the forms and re-installed in the same machine. Installation was successful. but I am not able to connect to the database in forms 5. It shows TNS could not resolve service name. TNS is created in both the versions with same name as well as different name. The IDS is working fine. Please help.

What error are you getting? One potential problem you will have with more than one version of Oracle Dev Suite installed is keeping the TNSNAMES.ORA synchronized. I've found the easiest solution to this problem is to add the TNS_ADMIN registry key to each Oracle Home so I can share a single copy of the TNSNAMES.ORA file. You can add this entry by starting the Window Registry editor (regedt32.exe or regedit.exe) and navigate to the following registry hive:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE => SOFTWARE => ORACLE => HOME? (where ? represents the number of the Oracle Home, eg., 0-9).
In your example, Forms 5 should be in HOME0 and IDS 10g should be in HOME1. Open each home and add a new "String Value" and name it: TNS_ADMIN. After you have added the new String Value entry, edit the String Value and enter the path to the copy of your TNSNAMES.ORA that is working. Then do the same thing with HOME1 and exit the Registry. You should be able to connect to your database with Forms 5 and IDS 10g. Normally, changes to the registry do not require you to reboot your computer, but I have seen where this is necessary - though not very often.
Note: Always ensure you have a BACKUP of the Windows Registry before you make any changes. If you uncomfortable modifying the Windows Regisitry, then I don't recommend you make this change.

I have already installed Oracle 10g R2.m planning to install oracle 8i on same machine..
What steps should i follow in order to avoid conflict..
The OS is Windows XP SP3....
I know that installing oracle 8i first and than installing oracle 10g is more convinient..But my requirements are different..
so have to install oracle 10g first and then Oracle 8i on same machine..

Hold on - it DOES matter - you shouldn't update new repository with old oracle installer, so be careful...

Ifeel miserable after trying out all the options changed multiple sims, tried multiple carriers, restored the phone back and have set-up as new device but the problem does not get solved... its is so frustrating that after investing on a world's most expensive phone you cannot enjoy the calling features which the phone offers which is the main thing you own the phone for.. Rest of the things are working.. The funniest part I am not able to make calls or receive calls but can access the internet.. I have tried every possible thing and really very frustrated with this iphone of mine...I hope the problem gets solved.. would anyone have any solutions to this problem.. Does it mean one should never update software as I hear that after updating to IOS.5.1 the problem has started coming and same has been with there.... Apple says its a hardware failure which is very difficult to digest as sometimes I get 5 bars and able to make and receive calls but 95% of the time I am unable to. If anyone has any solution I will be very happy if he or share can share the same. Many thanks. its so disgusting to experience this on top of this apple does not support global warranty for the phone as you need to go to the country from where you bought the phone for replacement.. Project version(current data and version data comparison not possible)

I am stuck up with project version we are using EHP7 and SAP HANA
When i create the version through CN71 or CNS41 system displays message "version is saved"
When i try to compare the same version with the current date in the same mentioned transaction codes system does not display the version data .
secondly when i am trying to display only version system displays message version does not exists.but in tables data is saved
In transaction code CN71 if i go to edit -->other selection versions-->enter user and press enter system displays all the saved versions for that project
selecting the project version it is displayed only
In the drop down list ,under VIEW--> choose project versions is also in display mode and is not editable .

If the version only exists in table VSKOPF then it does not main the version is actually created. You need to check if the corresponding version data has been created in table like VSPROJ_CN, VSPRPS_CN and so on, these tables holds the real data of your versions, if there is no data in these tables, then you can't compare the data also.

LabWindows Version 8.5 and Version 6

Hi,
I have been using the version 8.5 of Labwindows to develop an application for our test equipment. Given that the application was supposed to be running on Windows NT an error message came up when trying to run the application and the operation was aborted. This is due to that is not possible to run application developped on 8.5 on windows NT.
So, we decided to downgrade the version used by using an old one (version 6) already owned by us. We would like to know if it is possible to run two different versions of LabWindows on the same machine without occurring in any issue.

Hi Andrea,
there are two possible scenarios, both of them can lead to satisfactory results.
As I have intended, you are trying to create an executable to run on the target machine: on a single machine executable built with different versions of CVI can run without problems. It is to be noted that you must install in the system the RunTime Engine corresponding to the most recent IDE you developed your application with; this unique RTE will be used by all CVI applications running on the system (there are no known problems in running an executable on a newer RTE). This scenario does not consider the problem you are facing regarding CVI8.5 and WinNT.
If on the contrary you are interested in installing two different IDEs on a single PC, this is again possible and has been satisfactory working on my machine for several years covering versions from 5 to 8.5. Some precautions are to be observed, though, as normally additional toolkits and DAQ or DAQmx detect the newer of the installed IDEs and connect to it, so if you want to have a machine on which more IDEs are installed, each of them with -as an example- DAQmx added, you must do the following:
1. Remove every NI software from the system
2. Install the older of the IDEs wanted (e.g. 6.0)
3. Install DAQmx (it will detect CVI 6.0 and install libraries in it)
4. Install the newer IDE (say 8.5)
5. Install DAQmx again: it will detect CVI 8.5 and install libraries in it
With this procedure you will have a machine installed and running, with the only problem that you will not be able to update DAQmx -in my example- by running its setup. If you need to do so I can point you to some forum message that address this situation too.

Sorry, I misread your post. I thought you had iMovie version 9.
iLife '09 came with iMovie '09 which is version 8, not version 9. I don't know if this should instal in Mavericks. iMovie '11 (version 9) came with iLife '11. That definitely works for people who had iMovie 9.0.9 in Mountain lion and then upgraded to Mavericks. The Mavericks instal leaves imovie 9.0.9 in a folder called imovie 9.0.9 in the applications folder. iLife '11 is available from Amazon .

I have clients that are still insisting on CT2 and CT3 for

editing. I am able to use CT3 with work arounds for my CT2
customes;
but would like to get on with CT4.
Can anyone point me to the Tips and Techniques that will

To remove file from iPhoto and the HD simply put the files in the iPhoto trash and then go iPhoto Menu -> Empty trash.
This works if you're using iPhoto in the default setting, where the files are copied to the Library on import. If, however, you have a referenced library, you'll need to trash the files in your own folder structure yourself.

I think it is not recommended or supported for versions earlier than X.

Were you installing any patches to the Forms 6i?? I think your problem was a mix up in the environmental variables.
multiple versions of the same Oracle product CAN* be installed successfully on the same machine, it has been done by many.
Do not generalize one experience, since you are working on VMware, try them on one, it's easy to revert to a snapshot ;)
Install Forms 6i first patch it configure it and restart your machine and install DS 10g, On this machine I have Forms 6i and DS 10g installed at this same moment, and it's been working fine for that last 2 years.

Oracle XE 10g and XE 11g installed on same machine

Dear All,
I would like to know if it is possible to have two version of Oracle XE installed on the same machine without running simultaneously,
I currently have 10g XE installed on my Ubuntu laptop and I would need to install 11g while keeping 10g. These installations are just debian packages that do not allow for much customization. So I am just worried that if I install XE 11g it may mess up my current XE 10g install.

I have WL6.1 with 5 services/domains running on the same machine. I want to install
WL7.0 on the same machine and migrate one domain at a time without interrupting
the others. Is
this possible? If so, should I install to the same BEA Home directory or use a
new one? What
about the licences? I need to make sure 6.1 keeps running while I'm installing
7.0.

Nope the only thing you need to worry about is not having them run on the
same port. Right now on my little old laptop I have running 5.1, 6.0, 6.1
sp5, 7.0 sp2 and 8.1, plus our latest code line. :D

prudent to also copy your 6.1 applications to a new path and change the
paths in the config.xml appropriately (unless they are relative).
