Version 8 Projects - New computer

I am currently using version 8.0, Windows XP 32 bit and have created and rendered a number of projects. A couple of the projects are not yet rendered and burned to a DVD and still being worked on.
I will be purchasing a new computer and am concerned if any issues will come up when I continue to use version 8.0. Or should I upgrade to version 9.0?
The new computer will have the following:
*  Windows 7 Professional - 64 bit
*  Intel Core i7-870 quad-core processor [2.93GHz, 1MB L2 + 8MB shared L3 cache]
*  8 GB ram - DDR3-1333MHz SDRAM [4 DIMMs]
*  1.5TB 7200 rpm SATA 3Gb/s hard drive
*  2GB NVIDIA GeForce GT 420 [DVI, HDMI, VGA adapter]
Any suggestions or ideas would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Steve

I have found that Premiere Elements 8 with the 8.0.1 Update (Patch) and with the automatic features of Background Rendering and AutoAnalzyer turned OFF is a very reliable program (on a par with any of the previous versions)..Windows XP Professional SP3 32 bit. There are still some glitches being worked out with Premiere Elements 9. Those matters have been detailed in other threads here. If you look at the tryout, you will possibily be faced with incompatible drivers messages and Edit Mode Monitor display issues which you may or may not see in the purchased version.
Remember if you edit your Premiere Elements 8.0/8.0.1 projects in Premiere Elements 9, you will not be able to go back and edit them in Premiere Elements 8.0/8.0.1.
Although I have found it to be a very rare occurence, projects from an earlier version refuse to open in a later version. So, it may be a good idea to finish Premiere Elements 8.0/8.0.1 projects in that version and start new projects in Premiere Elements 9. You know that the trial version does come with watermark display which can be removed from your content after a purchased Premiere Elements 9 arrives on the scene.
Both versions 8 and 9 come with a large "footprint".
Hope you find the information helpful. Please let us know the outcome.
Thanks.

  • How do I activate previously store bought CS6 Student version on a new computer without optical drive?

    I have a store bought student version of CS6, which I have had on my old computer for the last 2 years. I now bought a new computer without an optical drive and I tried downloading the software from Adobe. When I entered the previously assigned serial number it said "The serial number you entered is invalid. Please try again.  If the problem persists, contact Customer Support"  well....there is no real customer support that I can find, so any help would be appreciated.

  • Download an old version on a new computer

    Please, I have a new computer laptop with windows 8 and no slot for cd to download my copy of PSE7.  It does not work in a memorex external drive, so I'm hoping to accomplish this online. I have the serial number. Used to be so easy.  I like using PSE 7 and cannot upgrade at this time.

    You will need to find a friend with a computer who will let you copy the contents of the CD to a thumb drive or some such thing. Even if you could find a download of PSE 7, the serial numbers back then for disc versions didn't work with downloads and vice versa.

  • Re-installing CS5.5 Student version on a new computer.

    I've had this computer for a few years now and its beginning to show its age.
    I also have the Student edition of Creative suite 5.5 installed on it.
    So my question is, if my computer breaks down and has to be replaced, will I be able to install my student version of CS on my new computer, without having to pay etc.
    I have the physical disc and code etc, so it should be fine right?
    Thankyou!

    As long as the software is compatible with the new machine you can install and activate.  Your license is (normally) perpetual and allows you to have two machines with activated installations, so if you purchase a new machine you can still retain the original machine as a backup if you like.  Alternatively, you can deactivate the original installation and retain the extra activation for yet another machine.

    You can check you Adobe account online to see if the serial number is registered under your account.  If not then your only option will likely be to contact Adobe Support directly thru chat to see if they can provide you with a/the serial number. For them to do so will require you being able to prove ownership.

  • Why can't I get my paid online version on my new computer?

    I had to get a new computer but I can't access what I use to like I could on my old computer. I paid somewhere around 23.00 dollars for just a simple verison of Adobe reader so I can edit PDFs with Word. What do I need to do?

    Why did you pay $23.00 for the FREE Reader? Someone ripped you off. Reader has nothing to do with editing PDFs, but is simply a Reader (or in MS terms a Viewer). If you have OFFICE 2013, you can open PDFs in WORD, but I don't know how well it works (everytime I have seen MS implement some such conversion, they screw it up).

  • Restoring backup from Elements Version 6 to new computer withElements version 9

    IHi There,
    I just replaced my old computer that had elements Version 6 to a new Windows 7 machine with Elements 9.  I made a backup from the old system, do I just restore that in the new system to restore all my pictures?
    Thanks

    If you made a full back-up in Elements 6 to an external hard disk or a set of CD’s then you can use the restore command in Elements 9.
    It’s best to let the program decide the new file structure when restoring to a new location as trying to preserve an existing structure can cause complications - e.g. differing file paths under Windows XP compared with windows 7.

  • Installing a older version to a new computer

    I have bought elements 11 and want to install it on a new laptop. How do I do this?

    Hello again, I don't think I clearly explained the scenario, there is not really any mess for us to fix.
    Most larger companies, who develop in a BDD or ATDD way, will have a very clear defined build, testing and deployment process. Usually, if any modules of your project has a web ui, a subset of the acceptance tests will be written against the UI. These automated acceptance tests are done with various tools, and more often than not, one of these tools being the selenium web-driver. Now, selenium currently only supports firefox up until v20 (https://code.google.com/p/selenium/wiki … leaseNotes). Which means, if the machine running the automated tests have a firefox version newer than that, the build will fail.
    Now, you can't just remove selenium from the build(that would mean stripping the acceptances tests for the UI), nor just randomly upgrade it, even if a newer version was there (there is a process for changing the build). So, really, the only option is to make sure a older version of firefox is available on your development machine, so you can run the acceptance tests.
    But just to be clear, this doesn't mean I am sitting browsing the web with a old firefox browser, it simply means that to complete a build, I need to have a environment available on my machine that can finish a build (including the automated testing, which relies on seleniums webdriver, which relies on well, a older firefox ). Note, at this stage, nothing is going anything near production, the acceptances tests are running against servers either running locally or in a UAT environment. So exploits because of a automated test script using a old browser is not really to big a concern(well, not for our department anyways, its the security departments job to ensure the safety of the UAT environments)
    all the best,
    d

  • Since I have loaded the latest version on my new computer, IE9 stopped working.

    I downloaded your program on my new HP, and now IE9 will not open, I tried uninstalling your program and it still did not work. I am going to boycott if this can't be fixed. I need to get in to a couple of sights that I lost the passwords to and I have to get in before monday or I lose my automatic login. I NEED THIS FIXED ASAP! I stand the possibility of losing a $300k contract.

    Hi,
    Please note that if this is an OEM Windows, there could be OEM specific customizations/changes. You can try to '''Set program and computer defaults''' in the Windows '''Control Panel''' > '''Default Programs'''. It may also show the OEM specific defaults.
