Version Compatibility of SAP R/3 4.6 C with SAP CRM 5.2 + CRM middleware

We are trying to Integrate SAP R/3 4.6c with SAP CRM 5.2 using CRM middleware.
We wanted to know the following :
1.Technical and Functional feasibility in integration of CRM 5.2 and R/3 4.6c. What are problems for these versions ? ( In Brief )
2.We are trying to move the Objects BP , Quotes and Products from R/3 to CRM 5.2. Has anyone done this and can someone give us a brief description of the problems while doing the same
3.Any other useful suggestions would be very helpful regarding CRM middleware.

Regarding middleware ,are you down loading plants? bacause down load object objects DNL_PLANT is obsolete.
Unusable middleware objects :
DNL_CUST_BASIS3
DNL_CUST_PROD0
DNL_CUST_PROD1
DNL_CUST_SRVMAS
and the master data objects
MATERIAL
SERVICE_MASTER..
Find composite note for middleware at 872533..
What is the leading system for Order creation?
Please refer notes 490932 for more info about transactional doc replication between the two systems.

I am already associate level certified with Netweaver 7.0 ( Oracle 10g ) which is a pre-requisite to giving this exam.
Can you please tell me how to go about the process of enrolling for a TechEd and what will be the approximate price ?

You just need to have an overview knowledge of the ABAP fundamentals as you mentioned about:
ABAP Debugging, Business Workflow, ALE/EDI/Idoc, Forms (Smart Forms/SAPScript), Authorization and Roles, Data Migration Transaction Variants,Analytics and Reporting, Foreign Trade (Foreign Trade in ERP, Global Trade Services), Programming in SD.
You will be able to get basic SAP Help on these topics on SDN or google.
Foreign trade would include export sales.
Analytics & reporting would include SAP Query and LIS based reporting(std & flexible analysis).
ALE/EDI/IDOC would include communication with other systems.
Forms include output data, you really dont need to know the way it is coded, just std assignment like NACE(output determination), etc.
Authorization & roles would include segregating responsibilities across different ppl in a big organization.User profile, parameters and other basis related logon objects refere to thi.
Data migration is uploading and moving of data through BDC & LSMW's from flat files to SAP.
Programming in SD would be knowledge of SD related tables, user exits/badi's and workarounds(if std config doesnt work).

SAP EP 6.0 SP12 Integration with SAP SRM 4.0

Hi Buddys,
When I am trying to create system in SAP EP for the backend SAP SRM Server using SAP Wizard in SAP EP, and testing the connection with test connection option, test is always failing.
In system creation wizard (SAP system for dedicated application server), values for connector, user managemnet have been maintained as mentioned in How to guides for SAP EP and alias for system has been created.
SAP EP has been installed with option to use SAP Backend SRM Server for Users.After SAP EP Installation, all SAP users in back end SAP SRM can be seen in SAP EP.
Software versions:
SAP EP : EP 6.0 SP12
SAP J2EE Engine : J2EE engine 6.4 SP13
O/S : Windows 2003 Server
SAP SRM : SRM 4.0 on SAP WAS 6.4

Hi Venkat,
When you create a system choose "SAP system using dedicated application server".
The minimum parameters for creating the system are
application host
Logical System Name -
Logon method - UIDPW
SAP System ID
SAP CLIENT
SAP System Number
server port
System NAme
System type - SAP_R3
user mapping type - admin, user
Create an alias, specify the userid and password for the system in Personalization and then do the test for the connection.
Even then if it fails you can go to Sys Admin--> Support --> Sap Application --> SAP Transaction
choose the system, specify the tcode, specify the gui type and hit go. If you execute the transaction code then the connection is OK.

SAP SNC Supplier Network Collaboration integration with SAP ERP via BizTalk - experiences?

Hello,
had anybody experience in integration of SAP SNC Supplier Network Collaboration with SAP ERP via BizTalk Server?
Versions: SAP ECC 6.0 Ehp5 SPS11, SAP SNC current version (7.0?)
We will have to integrate following processes:
Master Data integration, PO Purchase Order, Forecast, SMI Supplier Managed Inventory
Usually SAP takes an SAP PI middleware for this, where the full implementation can be downloaded from the SAP marketplace, but we want to avoid having an additional Integration Platform with maintenance etc.
Are there experiences, success stories, pitfalls, issues to be known, recommendations, known efforts in this forum?

I have one and half years experience in ABAP. I want to do "SAP CERTIFIED DEVELOPMENT PROFESSIONAL - ABAP SYSTEM INTERFACES WITH SAP NETWEAVER 7.0".

the "Professional"-Certification is very very hard - during my last Certifcation Exam, all candidates with the Pro-Exam failed (I was so glad I chose the normal certification...)
Here's how to book your exam:

Figure out the exam code for your certification. Example: For the US, there is a downloadable list (PDF) of exams available, called "list of the available certification exams".

SAP MAPI - intergation of outlook 2003 with sap 4.7!!

We are currently on SAP 4.7 ,using sapgui 6.20.We have requirement that our mail client user should be able to view/send/receive mails in sap mail box.
I have gone through SAP help and found that this is possible using SAP MAPI which is frontend utility integrated with windows. I tried to do the settings in the frond end like creating profile for sap MAPI but not finding the exact way as described in sap help files.
Kindly help me out ? If there are some sap notes do reply.

Compatibility of Informatica with SAP Netweaver BI 2004s

Hi,
Currently we are using Informatica Power Center Version 6 with SAP BW Version 3.1. So far there has been no problems in terms of connectivity or extraction. We are now looking to upgrade to SAP Netweaver BI 2004s. Would anyone be able to tell whether our existing Informatica would be compatible with the Netweaver version ? I am told that the latest Informatica is now version 7. Do we need to also upgrade that Informatica to version 7 in order for it to be compatible with SAP Netweaver BI 2004s?
Any inputs regarding this are highly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

External Version Control usage with SAP

Hi,
I am trying to get info on configuring an external version control tool to use with SAP. I am aware of Version Management that is provided by SAP as part of Workbench Organizer and DTR for NetWeaver Developer Studio (for Java programs). However, my requirement is, to configure an external versioning system which can maintain the different versions of the source outside SAP system(not within the SAP repository). This is necessary to recover the system even in case of SAP system crashes also.
Please let me know if we can integrate any Version Control Software like Perforce or CVS to use with SAP. I like to store ABAP programs, ABAP Data Dictionary objects etc. in it. Please point me to a useful document or resource which explains this in detail (if one is available).

Thanks for your feedback Nico and Carsten. The feedback on snapshots is very relevant and the sort of feedback that I was looking for.
I will continue looking at external version control, but at the same time look at snapshots. For example, when doing a checkin operation to checkin to external version control, my script may be able to automatically create a signature snapshot of the object at the same time. Please let me know if, for some reason, that won't be feasible.

Even in Sandbox landscape having R/3 & XI on the samebox is not recommended.
Moreover SAP R/3E & XI 7.0 don't have the same WebAs version(R/3 WebAS- 6.40 & XI WebAs -7.00). Hence they cannot be installed due to product compatibility. It should be atleast ECC 6.0.

Data transfer b/w SAP to Java using IDOC and Interface SAP Jco

Dear Experts,
The challenging requirement we are having is, we need to create the interface for data transfer between SAP system and the Java system. The data will be transferred from SAP to java and similarly once some processing done in Java again the details needs to be transferred from Java to SAP.
For this data transferred we are planning to use IDOC process and for interface "SAP Java connector (Version 3.0.5)" we are planning to use. As per our understanding, from Java side one program needs to be written to connect with SAP as "Registered program". This registered program will appear in SAP GATEWAY automatically and using tRFC, TCP/IP connection both SAP and Java system will be connected.
In this case we are having some doubts.
1. The data from SAP is going to be transfered from one Custom transaction (Z tcode). Once "Outbound IDOC" will get triggered and will carry the details. Now the doubt is, whether the data / details will get transfered to JAVA system automatically or we need to perform any other steps from SAP ABAP coding...(like converting in to flat file, XML file and etc) ??
2. We are planning to install "SAP Jco" in Java server. Is this correct...??
3. Other than SAP Jco any other softwares needs to be installed or not..??
4. Since we are going to trigger the "outbound IDOC" from custom transaction, we are planning to develope one program in SE37. Other than this any other program we need to develop or not..??
5. Any sample Java program for the SAP Jco version 3.0.5 to create the "Registered program" with SAP..? (e.g. SAP Listener program).?
If anybody has detailed steps or explanation please share it with us.

Hi All,
For the above mentioned issue, we implemented JCo software in JAVA system and created the JAVA program including SAP logon credential details like Client, User name, password and Language details.
When this JAVA program was compiled successfully then, that non SAP system will appear in SAP gateway Tcode.
Once non SAP system started appearing in SAP gateway that means, both SAP & Non SAP are connected automatically.
