Don't overcomplicate things, please!!!
All we need is open and save it in any version 6.0 ... 8.2, after which it can be opened in any newer version.
(Instead of giving random misinformation, you might just want to consult the version compatibility matrix instead. LabVIEW 8.2 can open anything 4.x or above, so it is a good version to keep around )
I have LabVIEW 8.2 installed specifically for these conversions.  It was also the first version that was VISTA supported.  Works well with Windows 7.
For those who care, the conversion was done here:http://forums.ni.com/t5/Version-Conversion/error-code-10/m-p/2609857#U2609857

The Version Conversion board forces somebody to search for an exceptable solution before posting a new thread.  That board should not do that as it encourages people to add on to previously solved threads.  I didn't have to go through that in order to create this thread.

That appears to be what happened.  I just mocked putting up a new idea and there was no search done before getting to type up my (non existant) idea.
But I was thinking about this while shaving this morning (I don't know why, random thoughts constantly bombard my mind).  It would be nice for the Version Conversion board to have a different format for creating a new request.  First of all, the button should be something like "New Conversion Request" instead of "New Message".  But then that button should take you to a new page that has 2 drop downs (for LabVIEW Version From and LabVIEW Version To) and a place for attaching code.  Put in notes that the file limit is 3 files and X MB and advise zipping up the code and posting the zip file.  MAKE THE ATTACHED FILE REQUIRED.  I guess there should probably be another field (optional) for general comments.  So then this new page can autogenerate a topic name based on the two drop downs.  We will get consistant topic names so we know exactly what needs done and it will be much easier for a new user of the board.

  • New Version Conversion Board

    Hello Forum users,
After recent feedback and conversations, we've decided it's time to dedicate a specific board for LabVIEW Version Conversion (replacing the existing Upconvert and Downconvert threads).
Please remember this is not a space for code discussion. This is just a space for you to post the VIs you need to be converted to an older or newer version of LabVIEW. If an issue arises where you need further assistance after the conversion has been completed (for instance, if you need the converted VI to be removed from the forums) please select "Report to a Moderator" and I will be happy help.
Enjoy the new, more organized Version Conversion board!

  • .llb file Lower Version Conversion

    Hi,
Looking for some guidelines to convert the .llb file into lower versions of LabVIEW. The thing is we have an instrument driver project created using LabVIEW 8.6, containing public and private folders and some .mnu files as well. I can save the whole project into the lower version, for say 8.0, using "Save for Previous Version" that again compiles and saves the whole project into another folder. The newly 8.0 project I opened and found that the private folders (containing .llb files) and .mnu file in public folders are still pointing to the older location i.e. 8.6 location. I removed the 8.6 code from its location and manually added private files to point to the 8.0 location. After I create installer for 8.0 codes using project file, I installed on new machine and found that private and .mnu files are missing and therefore could not proceed further. I can understand that .mnu files won't require any conversion but wondering why my 8.0 project are considering 8.6 location at all even after manually adding all the missing files back into the 8.0 code from 8.0 location.
Please do suggest me if anyone has any idea for the same. Looking Forward.
    Thanks in Advance,
    Vivek

    Hi,
The problem seems to be with the way the project folders are saved. There are two types of folders viz Virtual and Autopopulating. By default when you create new instrument drivers project , Virtual folders are created. You need to convert them to Auto populating folder as shown in the figure below. Autopopulating folder refrences and updates as and when you make any changes to the actual file. Whereas A virtual folder is a folder in the project that organizes project items and does not represent files on disk.
    Hope that solves your querry.

  • BPC Netweaver version - Conversion File Formulas

    BPC (Netweaver) Expert,
When creating formulas on the Data Conversion File that is called by the Transformation File, the Formulas are not working on the Netweaver Version.  Does anyone have any idea what may not be set up correctly?
    Thanks,
    Greg Rotvold

    Hello Greg,
BPC Netweaver uses somewhat different syntax for conversion formulas, and uses javascript for complex formulas, so formulas written using Visual Basic on the MS version will not work, though the basic *IF logic should work (I think I'm remembering MS conversion formulas correctly, but it's been a while). You can find the relevant Netweaver version documentation here: [http://help.sap.com/saphelp_bpc75_nw/helpdata/en/81/94a8a5febd40268d5c59b4fc31be37/frameset.htm]
If you want help specifically on the Netweaver version I suggest you ask your question in the Netweaver forum. I'm not sure what forum is most appropriate for questions about the differences between the two versions

  • Without version conversion can you fully activate Evaluation verison of SO

    I have download
an Evaluation version windows sever 2012 R2 from TechNet and install a server
with this. I also have activated it. <o:p></o:p>
    Over the
time that server becomes an important part of an Application farm with SQL and
other bits and pieces installation. <o:p></o:p>
    Now I find myself
in a corner as the Evaluation period is about to end. I am hesitating to convert
OS to full version as I am thinking that something may break and the
application farm will be un-stabilized. I know the way to convert OS version is
to use PowerShell as I have done it on a test server. <o:p></o:p>
    1. During
the conversion process, what may go wrong? <o:p></o:p>
    2. Is there
any way you can convert the OS with just licences Keys? <o:p></o:p>

"Is there any way you can convert the OS with just licences Keys? "
Yes.  The only limitation is if you have installed the machine as a domain controller.  That cannot be converted in place.  It requires removing it as a DC, changing it to a fully licensed copy, and then making it a DC again.

  • Version conversion

I need to convert my app from LabView version 7.1 to (compatability with) 6.0. I'm aware that 7.1 can save down to 7.0, but have yet to find a reliable means of getting down to 6.0. thanks in advance.

Each version can save to the immediately previous version (starting with 6 or 6.1, I think). So 7.1 can save to 7.0. 7.0 can save to 6.1 and 6.1 to 6.0. Thus you need all those intermediate versions. Of course if you used any features in a later version that did not exist in the earlier version, the save will not work.

  • How to tell which version my board is?

    Hi there,
I have to upgrade my BIOS, as I am having issues related to a new graphics card.
I bought my mobo secondhand from someone online, so I dont know exactly what make and model it is. I think it is this one:
    http://global.msi.com.tw/index.php?func=proddesc&maincat_no=1&cat2_no=&cat3_no=&prod_no=203#
But since I didnt buy it I am not 100% sure. Is here any way I can check from the board to find out for certain what model it is?
I need to be certain which one it is before I flash it.
    Cheers

Look here how to ID your mainboard: https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=113146.0
Also read >>Posting Guide<< and provide full system specification then explain the issue which you have.

  • Windows 7 German version vs US English version conversion via MUI integration

I need a install media for German Windows 7, but I only have a copy of the English version. I have successfully integrated German into the WIM file image, and install setup prompts for German, after installation, for example, home premium, the only language
avaiable is german, but does this make it real german version that can be activated in Germany? (English is automatically removed by Task scheduler in Windows setup after installation) Can a product key from Germany activate this image I make?

I dont think it'll work for home prem. version.

  • Msi-6309 version 1 board - BLACK screen but cd and hd spin

    Hi ya'all
Just wondering if anyone has any thoughts on this problem.
I was happily using windows 95 and my MS-6309 board with 733mhz cpu and 128mb ram.
my Power supply stopped working.  I then replaced it with a better one.  I thought i might upgrade my OS as well.
I then wiped the hard drive and installed windows 98.
Install went well, but on restart got some message about missing .vxd files.
Used another computer to grab the missing vxd files. cool should be able to replace the missing files.
But when trying to boot up the other pc, no go.
The screen stays black, the CD-Rom spins up, the hdd spins as it sounds like it is trying to boot - but then the red led stays red and goes no further.  The LED BRACKET inside the case is Lit RED-GREEN-RED-RED (i have leds in a row rather that a d-bracket)
Can anyone shed some light on this problem.
    thanks in advance.

    Hi
Check inside the computer to be certain that everything is plugged in correctly.  You can even reseat the memory and video cards to be safe.  Also check to see if any of the capacitors have bulged ends or dark stains around their base.  Especially the ones close to the cpu socket.
Clear the cmos by removing the AC cord and pressing the power button a few times to drain any electricity from the motherboard.  Move the jumper to the clear position for about a minute before moving it back to the hold position.  Plug the AC cord back in and try to reboot.
