Mass compiled in 8.2.1, which you can read with 2011.
I was missing a dll that is needed, but here you go.

  • CAN Frame Channel Conversion Library

Hello, I am trying to use the attached ncd file to read from a Series 2 board via the Conversion library but it's not working. I can load the ncd in Max and it read the channel fine.
    What would cause this?
I am using the sample vi USBCANBasicInput.vi. It seems imposible to debug because it uses a dll for everything.
    I am using version 1.0.3.
    There are extended CAN messages.
    Thanks in advance,
    Dustin

    Dustin,
It was a pleasure speaking with you on the phone today.
It seems that the problem was in using extended arbitration ID's with the Frame Channel Conversion Library. Here are some examples that show how to use this library with extended arb ID's.

    Don't overcomplicate things, please!!!
All we need is open and save it in any version 6.0 ... 8.2, after which it can be opened in any newer version.
(Instead of giving random misinformation, you might just want to consult the version compatibility matrix instead. LabVIEW 8.2 can open anything 4.x or above, so it is a good version to keep around )
I have LabVIEW 8.2 installed specifically for these conversions.  It was also the first version that was VISTA supported.  Works well with Windows 7.
For those who care, the conversion was done here:http://forums.ni.com/t5/Version-Conversion/error-code-10/m-p/2609857#U2609857

  • Version Conversion Board New Message

The Version Conversion board forces somebody to search for an exceptable solution before posting a new thread.  That board should not do that as it encourages people to add on to previously solved threads.  I didn't have to go through that in order to create this thread.

That appears to be what happened.  I just mocked putting up a new idea and there was no search done before getting to type up my (non existant) idea.
But I was thinking about this while shaving this morning (I don't know why, random thoughts constantly bombard my mind).  It would be nice for the Version Conversion board to have a different format for creating a new request.  First of all, the button should be something like "New Conversion Request" instead of "New Message".  But then that button should take you to a new page that has 2 drop downs (for LabVIEW Version From and LabVIEW Version To) and a place for attaching code.  Put in notes that the file limit is 3 files and X MB and advise zipping up the code and posting the zip file.  MAKE THE ATTACHED FILE REQUIRED.  I guess there should probably be another field (optional) for general comments.  So then this new page can autogenerate a topic name based on the two drop downs.  We will get consistant topic names so we know exactly what needs done and it will be much easier for a new user of the board.

  • New Version Conversion Board

    Hello Forum users,
After recent feedback and conversations, we've decided it's time to dedicate a specific board for LabVIEW Version Conversion (replacing the existing Upconvert and Downconvert threads).
Please remember this is not a space for code discussion. This is just a space for you to post the VIs you need to be converted to an older or newer version of LabVIEW. If an issue arises where you need further assistance after the conversion has been completed (for instance, if you need the converted VI to be removed from the forums) please select "Report to a Moderator" and I will be happy help.
Enjoy the new, more organized Version Conversion board!

  • Frame Channel Conversion Library for LabwindowsCVI

Could someone help me to identify Frame Channel Conversion Library for LabwindowsCVI. I found a library for labview and it is working fine with my USB8473. But i really need to get it working with Labwindows. Have anyone tried to access the frchconvlib.dll from labwindows? Thanks in advance.

Unfortunately, the C API is not documented, nor is it stated as a supported interface.
With that said, you may be able to dig into the VI's of the Frame Channel Conversion Library and pull the function prototypes from the Call Library Function Node on the block diagram of each one. With this information, you could call the functions from the dll (usually located here: C:\Program Files\National Instruments\NI-CAN\CAN Frame Channel Conversion Library 1.0.2\Drivers) from within C.
Let me know your thoughts and if you have any success.

  • Frame Channel Conversion Library

    Hello everyone,
I'm currently using the Frame Channel Conversion Library (downloaded on the NI Site) and I noticed that there are troubles when using a.dbc containing channels with "scaling factor".
When I convert the .dbc in the .ncd format, the scaling factors are correctly translated and then correctly interpreted by the DLL of the Convert Frame to Channel.vi, but when I use directly the .dbc in the same function (i.e. Add Selected Channels From File.vi), I always get 0 in the scaled data.
More clearly, the library works fine with the .ncd format but doesn't work with the .dbc format, when there are channels using a scaling factor.
Is it a known "bug" ? Is there a way to correct it,  in order to  use  the .dbc with this helpful library ?
    Thanks in advance.

This could be an issue of using extended 29 bit IDs with the conversion library. If you have extended Ids with your signal database, the NI-CAN driver allways expects to see the 30 th ID bit set additionally if you like to transmit an extended ID and you have to remove the 30 th bit if you provide the ID for the conversion VI. See the attached pictures for how to remove and add the 30th bit  for NI-CAN.
This is only necessary if you use dbc files. The max export to ncd removes the 30th bit automatically.

    Hi JGC
Unfortunately this Library is only meant to be used from LV and LVRT, an equivalent Library does not exist in CVI.

  • What version of Expresscard is present in the mid-2011 MacBook Pro 17"?

    Hi,
Does anyone know what version of Expresscard is present in the mid-2011 MacBook Pro 17"??
I want to know if it uses the PCIe 1.0 or 2.0 interface.
I've tried searching, but this one hasn't been answered.
A call to Apple Care didn't get me anywhere (they didn't know).
Closest thing I've come to an answer is this post (see last answer).
However, it's a bit confusing since the poster talks about GT/s, not Gbit/s as stated on Wikipedia (se fact box on the right).
    Anyone...??
    /Binker

    No, it isn't.
Check the links in my post.
The first one is this: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4138
    It states:
    ExpressCard/34 slot
Expand the capabilities of your MacBook Pro with standard 34mm ExpressCards. To eject an ExpressCard, push gently on it to activate the spring, and then remove it from the slot.

  • Without version conversion can you fully activate Evaluation verison of SO

    I have download
an Evaluation version windows sever 2012 R2 from TechNet and install a server
with this. I also have activated it. <o:p></o:p>
    Over the
time that server becomes an important part of an Application farm with SQL and
other bits and pieces installation. <o:p></o:p>
    Now I find myself
in a corner as the Evaluation period is about to end. I am hesitating to convert
OS to full version as I am thinking that something may break and the
application farm will be un-stabilized. I know the way to convert OS version is
to use PowerShell as I have done it on a test server. <o:p></o:p>
    1. During
the conversion process, what may go wrong? <o:p></o:p>
    2. Is there
any way you can convert the OS with just licences Keys? <o:p></o:p>

"Is there any way you can convert the OS with just licences Keys? "
Yes.  The only limitation is if you have installed the machine as a domain controller.  That cannot be converted in place.  It requires removing it as a DC, changing it to a fully licensed copy, and then making it a DC again.

  • Sharing code between Flex and AIR versions using library project

    Hello everyone,
I'm developing an application that has both Flex and AIR versions. In order to share code between these apps, I created a library project and added all my code there. Now I've set the library project as a dependency for both Flex and AIR projects. Since there are some components that use the DataService object, I've added fds.swc and fds_rb.swc and fiber_rb.swc modules to the libs directory of the library project. No compile errors. Now, if I try to run my Flex application, I'm getting this error:
    Variable mx.data::LocalStoreFactory is not defined.
I know that this error comes up when playerfds.swc is not present in the path. But that is not the case here. I have added playerfds.swc, fds.swc and related lib files to the build path.
If I go back and add the playerfds.swc file to the original library project, the error no longer appears. This is not a proper solution for me, since I need to share this project with AIR version also, and I cannot have both playerfds.swc and airfds.swc in the same project.. Has anyone faced an issue like this before?? What am I doing wrong??
