Version Cue CS3 Change Default Local File Location

Hi All
I've done a bit of searching around and can't find an answer to this.
We have a bit of a Hybrid network which involves roaming profiles / TS profiles and all manner of stuff I have not yet found.  The upshot of this is that profile size affects all manner of things.
Vesion Cue CS3 places local files into your user folders (and thereore your profile) by default.
Is there a way to change the default location of these files?  I dont need them on a network share, the local disc is fine but just not in 'my documents'.
I am aware I can do it on a project by project basis, but as I deal in hundreds of projects this is impractical.  That is to say I need to have the local files end up in the right place when I first sync.
Thanks Very Much for your help
Colin

I'm sorry Curt,
I don't understand your point.
CS3 does, in fact have Version Cue, and does put files in certain places.  So I don't follow what you are getting at.

  • Changing default open file location

    Hi all,
In Outlook 2010, is there anyway to change the default folder that is opened by explorer when you want to open any pst files?
I have tried the registry changes listed in other forums but this only changes the default save location. I have managed to change the default open location for Word, Excel etc but not Outlook.
    Any help would be appreciated
    Thanks

    Hi,
Do you mean you want to change the default location when you click File > Open > Open Outlook Data File?
We can achieve this goal by modifying the registry, I managed to do this in my environment. Please follow the steps below:
Note: Serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. For added protection,
back up the registry before you modify it.
    Locate the registry path:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\14.0\Outlook
    Add the ForcePSTPath registry value:
    Value name: ForcePSTPath
    Value type: REG_EXPAND_SZ
Value: path to your storage folder
Restart your Outlook to check the result.

  • InCopy CS2 Copyfitting with InDesign CS3, Version Cue CS3

Hello. We are using InCopy CS2 together with InDesign CS3 as part of an Version Cue CS3 workflow.  Certain stories do not copyfit exactly in InCopy CS2. They copyfit properly in InDesign CS3, but when the assignment with these stories is opened in InCopy CS2, the copyfit is close, but not perfect. We never had this problem when we were using InDesign CS2.
Has anyone seen this problem; can anyone suggest a workaround?  (Incidentally, The copyfit looks just fine when we open the file in InCopy CS3;  but we are NOT using InCopy CS3, because it causes synchronization problems - it reports that files are open, when they are not. )
Thanks for your help - Chris

The text engines have changed from CS2 to CS3 and again with CS4.
There's no way to get an accurate copy fit using a different version of InCopy than InDesign.

  • Default Project File Location - PE7

    Can anyone help please
I have been looking for a way to edit my default Project file location. Have managed to change all the Scratch disk locations to my (Local) F: Drive, but I cannot see a way to change the default location for Projects to be the same drive.
I know I can set it each time I start a project, but it seems strange with modern software to be unable to define a default.
I've searched the Registry and can't find anything there, and I cannot see anything in Edit>Preferences. Also searched the forum, but couldn't find an answer.
    Thanks
    Colin

Thanks for the prompt and helpful reply. Really is much appreciated.
I'm going to print off your response and use it for my next project (in a couple of days).
Looks perfectly logical way of working.

  • Default Project File Location

I just installed on a new computer and I cannot find out what to change to
point to a specific folder as the default project file location. It is not
    in Scratch Disks.
    Anybody know?
    Steve

I think it just comes up automatically in the last folder used. Not sure that can be changed.

  • How to change default save as location

    hi,
how to change default save as location in acrobat 7.0?

Why is Acrobat involved in this process at all? Why don't you save directly the pdf from your email program directly where you want it to be? Acrobat is just adding another step to this process.

  • Version Cue CS3 not working. Photoshop not opening.

    Hello,
I have just installed Adobe Creative Suite 3 Design Standard on my new MacBook Pro. I have activated it. However when i start Version Cue CS3 and check for updates i get the message "No Internet connection. Please check your Internet settings and /or firewall. Waiting for connection...". I have turned off my firewall and the antivirus program and I still cannot get it to work.
I also cannot start Photoshop CS3. When I open the application a blank window titled "Adobe Design Suit Standard CS3" appears as well as Photoshop toolbars which I cannot select. All the options on the toolbar is greyed out and I cannot select any of them. I have to force quit the application.
    What am I doing wrong?
    Any help is much appreciated.

  • I'd like to change the dfault file location, C:My pictures, to another file location, eg E or G. What can I do to change it?

    See above question.

    Hi trshaner,
Thanks again for your complete reaction. I’ve looked at the video and the help-information. This made me decide to leave the file My pictures where it is (C) and move some of the other folders/files to the E-drive. Thanks for your help.

  • Version Cue CS3 with Dreamweaver

How am I supposed to use Version Cue CS3 with Dreamweaver CS3. Am I supposed to install VC on the production server?
    Thanks,
    Chris

Please ask about version cue in the VC forum.

  • Version Cue CS3 and PSE 4 with Adobe Bridge

will Version Cue on CS3 work with PSE4 and Adobe Bridge and if possible, please direct me to "how to set it up." Desperate to exchange .psd files with another user in another town.

I have no answers to Jon's questions - Iam interested in the answers, too!
... and I have another question, which might fit into this topic:
I own CS 4 (DP & PP) for Mac and want to install the version cue server on a PC(-Server).
Do I really have to buy a PC-Version of the suite to get that done?
The Tutorial says its possible and legal to install the version cue server on a different computer, which is quite logical.
But does it really need to be the same OS? I searched all the DVD's but did not find any-PC-thing at all ...
Thanks in advance for any (reasonable) answer(s).

  • Change default upload file destination?

When I upload photo files from a camera card, LR automatically comes up with a default file location under "My Pictures" (Windows XP). I file all my photos on an E: drive and it takes a bunch of mouse clicks to get there. Is there any way to change the LR default destination drive?

This may be OS related. On my Mac OS X 10.4.9, the "sticky" setting is saved between sessions. I just looked.
Now, I wasn't importing from a card. Just deleting and re-importing from a hard drive. But my experience as near as I can recall is that the changed setting for destination is "remembered" from one import to another.

  • Change default choose file folder

When I need to select a file or files from my computer, is there any way to modify the default select from location? Example, Uploading a picture on Facebook.

I think it's using the latest folder you did download to. At least it did when I tested on both FB and G+.
You can change that folder by downloading something.

  • Default Report File location for BIP

    Hi Experts,
Is there a way to change the File Location on where a BIP report is generated, whether via adhoc or a scheduled method?
Any helpful inputs is highly appreciated :)
    Thanks!

    Hi,
Based on my tested in my environment, I went to set the Default File Location via group policy.
Word: Microsoft Word 2013/Word Options/Advanced/File Location/ and change the Default File Location
Excel: Microsoft Excel 2013/Excel Options/Save and change Default file location
Both of them works fine. As you said " However, Group Policy will set it in Excel." Does it mean that you set Word and Excel via two group policies at the same time, but it only works in Excel?
If it is, please try to re-download and change the
    Word ADMX to test.
If the issue still exist, please try to use Gpresult command Or RSOP to check group policy result on client.
When troubleshooting group policy issues, we use the gpresult command to confirm whether GPOs are really applied to the client (computer/user). You can run the following command in a command prompt:
    gpresult /z > c:\policy.txt
For more details about the usage of command Gpresult, please refer to the following link:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb490915.aspx
When you read the output, the c:\policy.txt file in this sample, please
examine the results of the report to find the answers to these questions.
Does the report list the particular GPO as applied?
Is the setting listed in the report?
Is the GPO listed in the Denied List

  • The 2 year old fix for changing temp files is no longer valid, I need to change the temp file location in the latest firefox.

In 3.6.3 I'm unable to find the parent cache to change where the temp files are located. I have an SSD drive, and I need to get the temp file off, and onto my platter drive. I have read the previous fix of about:config and changing the parent cache location, but it no longer seems to be there. I'm unable to locate anything relating to my SSD drive location in about:config.
    == User Agent ==
    Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.1; en-US) AppleWebKit/533.4 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/5.0.375.70 Safari/533.4

Unfortunately, it appears that what I wrote about not being able to find the location IN about:config of the cache to change it from my C: drive to a different location, was mildly misunderstood that I didn't know how to get into about:config.
The location of browser.cache.disk.parent_directory does not currently exist in 3.6.3. I'm assuming it's under a different location. Also using the simple string of "cache" lists several options, but none of them appear to be where firefox is currently dumping the temp files onto my C:
I merely need to know how to switch the temp file location from 1 drive, to another. Not downloads, the temp file.

  • Lion - Changing Custom Website File Location - Potential Lion Bug

I had an interesting problem while setting up and transferring my custom website from a Windows 2003 server to my new Mac Mini 2011 Lion server.  I was able to get the site transferred and working correctly.  Took a bit of manipulating /etc/apache2...* files but good to go.  Now for the interesting part.
I decided to RAID 1 my two intertnal drives so I used SuperDuper (not affiliated with them ... use it if you want) and cloned my boot partition to a MyBook drive I had laying around, rebooted, Raided and cloned back.  All good there.  For some reason I had the bright idea to move my custom web site files to the MyBook.  Did that and all good.
I later came to my senses and tried to move the custom site files back to the RAID 1 partition.  Could not do it.  Neither through the Server.app interface or via manual entry of /etc/apache2...* files.  The solution appears to be due to a potential bug in Lion and Lion Server.app.  I found that under directory /etc/apache2/extra the file httpd-vhosts.conf was not being updated by Server.app.  Once I changed the file location there all is well.
Hope this helps any of you with the same problem.

    Hello, James here.
The reason why you can't find the "System Sounds" folder is because Apple have hidden it in a slightly different location in OS X Lion 10.7.x
To get to the directory with the "Volume Mount" file you need to go to...
Macintosh HD > System > Library > Components > CoreAudio (right-click and show package contents) > Contents > SharedSupport > System Sounds > system
    Hope this helped!
