    Hi,
I have installed Both AS ABAP and AS JAVA Stack separately and going forward I need to know
    1) Do I need to install any other servers other than this like EP and PI etc?
    2) I also wanted to install SRM MDM, for that I have gone through some documents and threads and found that
    Prerequisites
    1. SRM Server- Installed with ORACLE database
    2) For SRM MDM
Ø        Download the SRM-MDM Catalog 2.0 installable from Market Place-- Done
Ø         Install the MDM Server and other GUI Clients--Done
Ø     UnArchive the SRM-MDM repository available with the installables only

. Where I can get the "Port"
Will follow the below steps once the above issues are resolved
*Create the Web Service in SRM system and specify all the required

           4) In the market place I have found that SRM MDM install.exe and in that there are two options to execute. Install MDM

As you have already installed Java stack then it will be your EP. You don't need PI for SRM MDM.

The DBMS Server property defines the network identification string of the DBMS instance / machine / server that is used by the DBMSspecific client on the MDM Server machine to connect to the DBMS. The brand of DBMS on which the repository is running is shown in the DBMS Type property.
NOTE ►► When you mount two MDM repositories with the same name (but located on different DBMS Servers) on the same MDM Server, MDM distinguishes them in the Console Hierarchy pane by appending the name of the DBMS Server in angular brackets to the repository name (e.g. u201Crepository <server>u201D).

  • Data Consistency when Copying/ Refreshing ECC 6.0 and SRM-SUS 5.0 Systems

    Hello,
We are planning a refresh / system copy of an ECC 6.0 and SRM-SUS 5.0 system
The refreshes will be completed from backups taken of production systems refreshed onto the QA Landscape.
I have referenced the following SDN thread that provides some guidelines on how to refresh R/3 and SRM systems and maintain data consistency between the systems using BDLS and changing entries that correspond to backend RFC destinations:
    [Is there a process/program  to update tables/data after System Refresh?;
This thread is fairly old and relates to earlier versions of R/3 (4.7) and SRM (3.0).  We have heard that at higher system versions there may be technical reasons why a refresh canu2019t be performed.
Does anyone have experience of completing successful refreshes of landscape that contain ECC and SRM systems at higher SAP versions (ideally ECC 6.0 and SRM-SUS 5.0)  Does anyone know whether it is technically possible?
Are there any additional steps that we need to be aware of at these higher SAP versions in completing the copy to ensure that the data remains consistent between ECC and SRM?
    Thanks
    Frances

I have seen this somewhere in the forum: See if this helps you
BDLS: Convertion of logical system (SRM).
    Check entry in table TWPURLSVR.
Check RFC connections (R/3 and SRM)
SPRO, check or set the following points:
Set up Distribution Model and distribute it
    Define backend system
Define backend sytem per product category
    Setting for vendor synchronization
    Numbe ranges
    Define object in backend sytem
    Define external services (catalogs)
Check WF customizing: SWU3, settings for tasks
SICF: maintain the service BBPSTART, SAPCONNECT
    SE38:
    Run SIAC_PUBLISH_ALL_INTERNAL
    Run BBP_LOCATIONS_GET_ALL
    Update vendor BBPUPDVD
    Check Middleware if used.
    Run BBP_GET_EXRATE.
    Schedule jobs (bbp_get_status2, clean_reqreq_up)

  • Versions difference in ecc 6.0

    Hello experts,
What are the major and minor difference between the 4.6c and ECC 6.0
    Please tell me the diffences
    Thanks
    Raghava

There are so many differences between the version in different objects
I will explain in two or more objects the difference
1 in the customer master in 4.6 version there is no partner function tab in the customer in xd01 t-code
and also there is no CIN tab in that version
but it is there in the 4.7 EE version
This is the major change from the 4.6cc to 4.7EE
    2. in 4.7EE there is some settings that are related for CIN
which cannot be done in 4.7EE that means they need some patches for doing the configuration setting for the CIN
But we can do the same in the 6.0 version
These are the some of the settings that are differed in the two versions and in that two objects

  • What's the difference between SNC and SRM?

we will sell SNC in Q2.But i don't know what is the difference between SNC and SRM.
i've heard SNC suit Direct procurement better than SRM...
Pls give me the advice and information.
    good regards kenji

    Hi Kenji,
SRM is more of Supplier Identification and SNC work of building
relationship with Supplier starts after this Supplier identification.
SNC is very Good tool to handover Inventory replenishemnt
to Suppliers and it gives Visibility of inventory information over Web UI.
SNC has many processes like PO Collaboration, SMI, DR,DCM, SNI,
Invoice Collaboration,Release process...to accomplish above mentioned task.
SNC is designed for direct materials procurement.
SRM has contract negotiations, bids, auctions for sourcing to identify suppliers
SRM is good for basic purchasing fuctionality and suitable for indirect materials.
In addition to all these SNC has Customer Collaboration functionality also.
    Regards,

    Hi folks,
Hope you are all doing great.Have these queries which need your attention.
-Difference between G/L account and Account assignment categories?
-In IMG,why do we have to "define G/L account for product category and account assignment category"?Purpose of having accounting information for product categories...why?
-What does thes statement mean " Note that for each product category that you work with, you have to enter all possible account assignment categories and a G/L account."
-Who provides us details regarding the accounting assignment(CC # etc) and G/L account??The FI-CO dept.??
-When ordering a Shopping Cart, what is the account assignment/information taking place?I always thought that the user's/plant's account assignment is used here.
-Does every Plant,Purch. Grp,Purch. Org have accounting assignments??

    Hi,
I had seen the documentation. But still have the following questions:
    BACKGROUND
We are looking to upgrade to from SAP R/3 4.6C to mySAP ERP 2005 next year and currently have SRM 3.0.
Support for SRM 3.0 is running out end of this year and we are planning an upgrade to SRM 5.0.
In regards to: SRM 5.0 AS ADD-ON IN ONE CLIENT SOLUTION FOR ERP 2005
It looks like we have the option to upgrade SRM to 5.0 or implement as an add-on.
SRM 5.0 Solution Master Guide: https://websmp104.sap-ag.de/~sapidb/011000358700003030762005E   section 3.8, page 69) provides information regarding limitations and business scenarios available in a one-client solution.
Which option we choose is a key decision for our SAP Upgrade Planning.
    QUESTIONS
In the context of business scenarios available for SRM in a one client solution:
    The questions I have is:
    - What functionality is included in?
       > Self-Service Procurement with Supplier Collaboration for MRO Procurement
I am unclear as to what this means and what    functionality is included.
      > Service Procurement (lean deployment)
I am unclear as to what this means and what functionality is included. I have found references to loose and close supplier integration for service procurement but not ‘lean’.
    - What are the plans for future release of the ‘missing’ functionality in SRM as an add-on to ERP2005?
    - Will all SRM functionality be included for future SRM releases as an add-on in a one client solution for ERP?

  • Sending Bids from SRM to suppliers and receiving responses

    Hi Experts,
Help me with a suggestion for sending Bids from SRM to suppliers and receiving responses - preferably through email adapter.
    Regards,
    Hemanthika
Edited by: hemanthika patnaik on Apr 28, 2008 2:24 PM

    Sorry for the delay,
I have worked in a similar integration with SRM - XI, but the only difference is that we used Proxy -- HTTPS for Purchase Order Request.
In your case it would be:
    1. Create custom IDOC and Message type.
    2. Find the triggering process from the SRM side, trigger the IDOC from SRM.
    3. Generate the partner profile and ALE config.
    4. Import the custom IDOC in XI.
    5. Use a map in XI to convert the IDOC data to customer format.
    6. Use  HTTP adapter to connect.
    7. In the HTTP adapter you can use url method or the RFC destination to do the connectivity. ( I would recommend using the RFC destination to do it.)
    8. You should be receiving an acknowledgment from the customer when the document is posted at their end.
    9. The response is either 200 for successful transmission. It would be 400 or 500  for errors.
    10. Use the response message to do a message map with the mail adapter.
    11. Generate the content of the mail adapter using the message map.
    12. In the message map ideally you should use Value mapping to generate the   TO and FROM data. (This enables you to change the receipients while in development and production without changing the message mappinng program.)
    13. Use mail package in the Mail adapter to send the mail content to the business users.
    Hope this helps.

  • Purch. group in MM and SRM

    HI Gurus,
Can you please  explain the difference between SRM Purch Groupp and R/3 Pur. grp.
I f a SC is created and follown doc(PO) is created in the background(R/3), from where the system will take the purch. grp and how.
    Thanks in Advance.
    IS

Hi, all that other people told you is correct but remember that you have to have created in R/3 all purchasin groups that you used in SRM.
For example if you have purchasing organization A in SRM and purchasing group B assigned to it in SRM, you have to have created two organizational units in R/3.
When you create a shopping cart in SRM, depending of data that you have on configuration steps in SRM, system creates a purchase requisition or purchase order and purchasing organization for organizational unit that you used to create the shopping cart is put in field that corresponds in R/3. If not exists in R/3, document throws an error.
    Thanks in advance

  • Active Directory, single sign-on and  SRM Users

We are in the process of installing SRM 7.0. using the Classic Scenario. I am seeking clarification around the creation of users in that system given the following:
    - My Basis colleagues are in the process of implementing single sign-on using Active Directory for our SAP Portal, SAP Business Warehouse and SRM systems.
    - Single sign-on will not  at this point be used for our SAP ECC 6.0 system
    My questions are:
    1. If active directory is being used do we need to create actual users within the SRM system?
    2. If actual users in the SRM system are not required, does this have any impact on the creation of the Organizational structure in SRM from the SAP ECC HR hierarchy?
    Many Thanks

    Hi Claire,
The Single Sign On work only if user exist on every systemes.
    For example :
If you connect trough portal to access ECC and SRM, your user id must exist in ECC and SRM.
For Active Directory you can synchronize your user table to AD by using LDAP option.
The best way is to configure a CUA for ECC and SRM, use the UME of Portal on ECC and synchronize the CUA to Active Directory.
Finally use the SSO certificate between Portal ECC and SRM.
