Version file property... can I change it?

I'd like to be able to change a file's Version property... Possible?

If you see a version listed in the More Info section of the Get Info window, as you may with a PDF file, that is metadata that is set by some app that has edited the file. You would need to use that application to change that metadata. For a PDF, Preview can show you this metadata (Tools -> Show Inspector) but cannot edit it as far as I know. You may be able to edit with Adobe Acrobat Reader, but you may also need the full Adobe Acrobat.
Edit: Oh, and, of course, if you're trying to change the version of an application... don't. It's not a good idea.

When I click the lock in the bottom right corner it prompts me for my password but after unlocking it it doesn't allow me to change privelages or give me any new permissions.

The menu bar seems short - it doesn't spread across the page the way the old versions did. Can I change that?

Use a compressed image type like PNG or JPG to save the screenshot and make sure that you do not exceed the maximum file size (1 MB).
Right click in a free space on your desktop.

You can then use your mouse or keyboard to select the marker manually or use

Marker of Type and specify the type of marker (or choose

Find.
After a marker has been selected, press in sequence
ESC s m to open the
Marker tool, edit the marker text, then click
Edit Marker.

Trash asks for a password every time I try to delete a file, how can I change this?

XML as target file - how can i change its character set?

Hi all,
i need to create my target as XML-file und to save all my information there, but with other character set (not with default). In other words i must have in XML-file in header
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="ISO-8859-15"?>.
Now i have
<?xml version="1.0"?>.
What can i do?

I don't think Finder does this (I've tried).
iTunes does though. Where you can set artwork or the "poster frame"...
This may not be what you want but if it helps, I know 2 ways do this is
Open the video in QuicktimePlayer7 | View | Set Poster Frame (even then, you might need to save it as .mov (ie in a 'mov container').
Drag the file into iTunes and set the artwork (as in http://www.dummies.com/how-to/content/adding-album-cover-art-or-images-in-itunes .html)
From there, iTunes will use that frame as the "poster frame" ie the photo/frame that shows when you browse your videos. Which is what you want, but limited to iTunes.
When I do either of these above, the frame I set does not show when exploring files in "Finder" (or in the other Explorer tool I use called "Pathfinder").
So it maybe, that exactly what you want, is not possible.

How do you completely disable the installation and use of add-ons for firefox 4? Is there a config setting/file that can be changed to completely disable add-ons?

I want to completley disable the installation and/or use of add-ons in Firefox 4. I don't want anybody that logs onto either of my computers to be able to use add-ons and I can't find a way to disable it in the configuration files. I've found ways to lock down other options like updates etc. but I cannot find a way to completely disable add-ons.

Folder redirection with Offline files enabled - Can I change the location of the locally cached files?

I have a 2012 r2 server setup with folder redirection and offline files enabled. All this works perfectly.
As you probably know, the local cache for offline files is stored at c:\windows\csc\v2.0.6\namespace\servername\
The problem I have run into is that one user (who cannot be told to delete files cough ceo cough) has a very large documents folder, and a small SSD drive for his C drive. So the offline files are filling up his SSD. He wants all his files to be synced,
so decreasing the max disk usage is also not an option.
What I would like to do is move the Offline files to his D drive which is a large drive, however I have been unable to find any official method for doing this. Is there any provision to change this?
If not, would it work to move the entire \servername\ path to the d drive and then create a junction at c:\windows\csc\v2.0.6\namespace\servername\ that points to d:\servername\?

Meanwhile creating a symbolic link should also work like:
mklink /d "C:\Windows\CSC" "D:\CSC"
Note: It will create d:\csc folder so you do not need to manually create it.
Note 2: As mentioned above, you may need to re-sync the offline files. Personally I also think robocopy will not work.

I'd like the Enlish version of the browser on my laptop, not the Dutch version. How can I change this?

When downloading Firefox to my laptop I was automatically provided with a Dutch version (i.e. Dutch menu bars), probably because I reside in The Netherlands. I don't want the Dutch though. I want the English version. Obviously I can de-install the Dutch version. But I don't want it to be replaced with another Dutch version. Can I opt into an English version when downloading? Where in new version (2.0) can you change the audio output port?

I updated to the new version. On the older version, I had a selection of audio ports (like my bluetooth headset, or the headphone jack). This option apparently is not available on the new version or if it is, it is not readily apparent. Now I have to turn off my headset to change back to headphone output.
Not friendly.

They are now controlled via the "Control Center" - swipe up from any screen to find bluetooth and Airplay controls (and some other useful stuff like calculators and torches)

How can one edit a .gif file graphics background and change the fonts in Photoshop Elements 13?

I am trying to change the color and fonts of some of my web sites .gif files. Can I change the color to another hexadecimal color and change the fonts of the letters in Photoshop 13? I am using Windows 7 and heard that you could save the .gif file to another format, edit it, then change the file back to a .gif file. Is this true? If so, how do you do it? The file just has a solid color with the letters "Firm " on it. No animation.

You can edit a gif without changing the format, but once you save the file as a gif the text becomes part of the image, not text anymore, so you would need to clone or heal away the existing text and then create a new text layer and use save for web to create a new gif.
For access to the most editing tools, while the file is open in the editor go to image>mode and change it from index color to RGB. Saving as a gif will change it back to index mode.

Not using Reader alone no.
You could take a snapshot and paste it into an image application, you could open it in Photoshop and save as a .jpg or you could use save as .jpg from Acrobat.

You should be able to access an earlier version through the CC subscription; CS6 is the one between CS5 and CC.
CS5 is no longer for sale.
You may buy CS6, though.

P6NGM and MSI Dual Core Center - can't change FSB

I'm running Vista Business 32. Just installed a P6NGM with a E6750 and updated all the MSI utilities to current version - but I can't change the FSB anywhere. I can't click the "D.O.T." button on the main menu, and there are no arrows near it. In the advanced screen, the FSB +/- buttons are grayed out. How do I enable its FSB overclocking?
