Version number of Mail on Mac OS X
Hi,
I would like to know the version number of Mail in Mac OS X "panther". My version is 1.3.11. Il would like to know since which version of Mail it is possible to find the function "add an hyperlink" (Edition menu) ? Is it only available in version 2.1 on Tiger or was it available on a previous version of Mac OS X ?

Not being able to add hyperlinks, is one of the reasons I prefer the AOL mail function to Apple Mail, on my Panther iMac.
Now that I know that is possible in Tiger, maybe I'll set it up on my Macbook, and take a look at it.

There is no Mail.app version available as a standalone download.
I'm not sure about the Mail.app version number for 10.3.9 but the current version for 10.3.9 should have been included when you installed 10.3.9.
You cannot use the Tiger Mail.app version Panther. -
I have never had to enter a password to access mail.
However, recently, I keep being asked for password on my ***** address.
Only on my macbook. (which, btw, has a version number your drop down doesn't offer as a choice. I had to putt 9.4)
When I look up the account the "password" is a long string of gobbledygook. Something I would never do.
But when I attempt to use that pw I still can't get in.
I have no trouble accessing that email account on my mac mini. Just on the macbook.

I'm confess I'm still trying to get a handle on your problem. You do a fantastic job of describing it ... but I'm just trying to picture it accurately in my head.
I think, were I in your shoes, I'd begin by looking at what the debug page has to say for the specific destination in which you're interested in fixing. In other words, I'm not clear on where, exactly, this destination points ...

Is that your site, or the division within your site that you want to fix? "Normally", you do not need to specify a site handle to get to your site within your transfer CGI ... if you say "uillinois.edu", it's enough to transfer your users to iTunes U ... but every site still has a handle, and you could, if you wanted to, actually specify it in your transfer CGI. For example, this:
Destination uic.edu.1139051993
is for my entire site ... it's my site handle. Whereas this:
Destination uic.edu.1991288441
is for a division within my site ... but it's impossible to tell the difference between "site" and "division" from just the handle (I mean, if I didn't say "this is a site" and "this is a division", there'd be no way for you to know). So when I look at your creds and permissions on your debug page, I can't quite tell if they give you download access for your site, or for the specific division you want to fix. If you could open the debug page with your division as destination (or confirm that that's what we're looking at), it'd rule out some things. -
Bad version number on Mac, but not PC
I have a java applet that works fine in Windows. It works fine on Macs as long as I compile it with JDK 1.5. However, once I compile it with JDK 1.6 it loads in Windows, but it doesn't load at all in Mac OSX. I've tried compiling it with javac using -target 1.5 -source 1.5 and -target 1.4 -source 1.4 but no luck.
None of the computers I have tested on have JRE version lower than 1.5. The Mac I tested it on has JRE 1.5.16. I've also tested it on Ubuntu with JRE 1.5, which didn't work, and 1.6, which did work.

It looks like there is still a version compatibility problem, but from researching this error, just adding the -target and -source java versions when compiling should fix it. Maybe I'm going about this all wrong?

Where can I find a mapping of the Mac Powerbook version number (e.g., 3.1) to the dates (e.g., "late 2007") that Apple uses for indicating compatibilty with OS upgrades?
There were no PowerBooks made in 2007. By then Apple had switched over to Intel and they were making MacBook instead.

Where do I get the serial number and product key for the version of AutoCAD LT for Mac that I bought from the ITunes store?
The iTunes Store doesn't sell software for the Mac. I presume you mean the Mac App Store. To the best of my knowledge, no software sold in the Mac App Store has serial numbers nor product keys. For what reason do you think you need them?

Wanting to deactivate PS Elements on Mac and transfer program to a friend. Is it OK to download a trial to my friend's Mac and use my serial number. Also is the serial number the same for Mac and Win versions? Many thanks.
Yes it should work transferring PSE10 from Mac to Mac. There is a download link below for PSE10, which your friend could use. There is a formal licence transfer process but it’s not necessary for your friend to register the product (activation is sufficient) although he couldn’t benefit from future upgrade pricing without registration. Serial numbers typically can only be registered one time.
Boxed versions of PSE are normally multi-platform with disks for both Windows and Mac; so the serial number is the same. Downloads have tended to be single platform only although I believe the current version PSE12 will work on both Windows and Mac with the same serial number – boxed or download.

SSL "SSL3_GET_RECORD:wrong version number" error using Mail
I have set up an SSL proxy and I am trying to send a message through it to my mail server.
The proxy's log shows a "SSL3GETRECORD:wrong version number" error whenever Mail tries to send a SSL message.
I have been told that this error means that the proxy's certificate is using SSL3 but Mail is using a different version of SSL.
Does anyone know what version of SSL Mail uses, or how to change it to use version 3?

Some things that'll help troubleshoot:
- When and where are you seeing the error? Please provide a stack trace if you have one.
- Is your host behind a proxy that has https disabled? Is this running on Azure or somewhere else?
- What version of openssl, node.js, and documentdb client are you running?
* To find the version of openssl - run "openssl version" in a terminal.
* To find the version of node.js - run "node -v" in a terminal.
* To find the version of documentdb client - look inside the package.json for your project. -
Issue printout from mail on Mac OS X 10.9
We have a network printer Konica Bizhub C452 and I have an user when he want to print on this printer from mail under Mac OS X 10.9.2 around one time on 5 he has a error message " Mail a quitté de manière imprévue lors de l’utilisation du module pde"
I have downloaded the correct drivers from Konica and I can't found any solution on different forum, somebody has an idea on this issue

My 10.8.3 update did not install properly citing an 'Unknown Error'. Now, my Mail and Mac App Store aren't working. What went wrong and how do i fix it ?
I tried this and still have the same problems. If I open Address book or the Mac App Store I get the library rebuild popup and a hang. I created a fresh user and then things are better apart from the printing issue. Its clearly some 3rd party software issue but the crash logs are meningless to me. I used the excellent Etre check app from http://www.etresoft.com/etrecheck so I have a list of what is being loaded and can compare clean and crashed user info but as I cant work out which of the startup items, launch agents, launch daemons etc that are causing the problem.
I have eliminated Dropbox, Mac Keeper and Witness, and it isnt related to my exterrnal LED cinema dispay or my external thunderbolt drives, or any USB devices if thats any help to anyone else. Info from Etrecheck follows -

How to avoid duplication of mails on Mac book and I phone
Am using Apple mail on Mac Book Lion version & I phone 4 with IOS.
Am using corporate mail server ie [email protected]
Despite having done the mail settngs with the option - Delete mail immediately on removing the mail from Inbox, the same mail gets downloaded on the other device. That is, i receive all mails on both my devices Mac Book and I phone even if its deleted from Inbox in one device.
i am looking for an option of avoiding duplication of mails - that is mails deleted shouldnt come again on the other device.

thanksDepends on what passwords you are talking about. Most passwords you have the option to change whenever you want.

On page 9, Performance there is a chart that provides maximum numbers of connected users for various activities such as file sharing, mail, web, calendar, directory services and Time Machine and the CPU used as a server (Xserve, Mac Pro, Mac Mini). This information is a bit dated as the referenced software is Snow Leopard Server (OS X 10.6), and the hardware is older also, but it should give you a general idea of what you might need to look for.
