    Many thanks a lot for advance .^^

    I hope you are not running under Java 1.4. If you are using Java 5 or up, you can use OJDBC5 or OJDBC6 (the number indicates for which version of Java it is built). Both these driver series support connecting to the Oracle versions you mention.

  • When will Oracle 10g/11g support Windows Server 2008 and AIX6.1

    Hi all
    I'm sorry if I post it in a wrong place... But I really want to know when will Oracle 10g/11g support Windows Server 2008 and AIX 6.1?
    I've searched in metalink but found nothing useful. Is there anybody can give me a link of Oracle's roadmap for platform support?
    Thanks!

    Oracle does not announce release dates and neither
    does any other software company.But Oracle does have a very good track record of supporting their products on new windows releases extremely close to the windows release date. Clearly they can't support on an unreleased platform though. Given that the launch of Server 2008 isn't even complete worldwide yet (19th March in the UK for example) it would seem that this enquiry is a little premature.

  • Status of uml 2.0 support in jdev 10g and 11g

    Hi,
    What's the status of UML 2.0 support in JDeveloper 10g and 11g?
    Thanks,
    Matt

    I was particularly looking for the capability to have "Combined Fragments" in sequence diagrams to express looping and other control structures. Here's a good article about combined fragments:
    http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/rational/library/3101.html
    Also having the ability to reuse sequences in UML 2.0 is an important concept.
    In the past I have also looked for support for component and deployment diagrams in JDeveloper. This is important to us to explain the design of systems.
    Thanks,
    Matt

  • How to download OSB 10g ..plzz help??

    Hi,
    In oracle site i see only osb 11g which is the latest version.How to download the 10g(10.3.1) version of OSB.Can anyone please help.I also checked the metalink still i cant find it.
    I was generally practising OSB. so cant move to a new version again.
    Can anyone tell me is OSB11g completely new version or is it same as 10g..please help.

    I checked the alternate download site edelivery.oracle.com and there also only 11g is available. I think you need to raise a support case in My oracle support to get the older version.
    OSB 11g is an enhanced version of 10gR3..So whatever basics you have learnt in 10 gR3 would be still applicable in 11g. I would advise you to download 11 g for further exploration

  • Oracle 10g / 11g is ROLAP/MOLAP/HOLAP?

    Hi Greets,
    Can any one please tell me whethe the available version of Oracle 10G /11g OLAP
    is ROLAP or MOLAP or HOLAP.
    Thanks
    Anandraj

    The OLAP Option is highly integrated with the Oracle database by this stage (11.1). Metadata is stored in the data dictionary and the primary access mechanism is SQL. So traditional terms like ROLAP, MOLAP, and HOLAP are getting hard to apply. But at a broad level you could say the following.
    ROLAP was supported in 10g based on CwM metadata and the Java OLAP API as query tool. (Both Discoverer for OLAP and the Excel Add-In use the Java OLAP API.) CwM was deprecated in 10.2 and ROLAP in general has received no new development for years. So while it technically still works in 11g, I would not recommend it.
    MOLAP (i.e. the Analytic Workspace) is supported in both 10g and 11g. In 10g the metadata is managed by AWXML, and in 11g it is managed using by the OLAP API. In both cases you can access the data via SQL, the OLAP API, or OLAP DML. In 11g you can also integrate with the Materialized View system.
    The MOLAP implementation is faster and more scalable than the ROLAP version, and all development and future plans centre around MOLAP.

  • Native/StandAlone OEM  for 9i, 10g, 11g Databases for EBS

    hi hussein/helios,
    How do I install the standalone OEM web, for EBS with 9i, 10g, 11g database? I just can not stall GRID coz
    its so complicated.
    I have seen it here in a forum before , which is done thru a patch, but I can not find that link anymore :(
    Hussein give me that patch link before :), Can you help me find the link again please....
    It is so hard to search key words in the forum.
    Thanks a lot
    MsK

    Hi,
    By the way, If I use OEM GRID... Let's say we have 10 branches having each own distributed database on Linux, with
    different database version (like 8i, 9i, 10g, 11g). And we are located at the Main Office. Is the ff. steps the way
    to manage them?ff steps means?
    1. Install OEM Grid at the Main Office (10.2.0.5). My Main Office version in on Windows XP PC. Is it ok? to manage
    Linux servers using central Grid on Windows?Refer to the certification matrix in My Oracle Support website to find out if OEM is certified on XP or not (most probably not).
    2. Install OEM linux control agent at the 10 branchces which are on Linux.
    3. Each branches connect to Main Office via VPN like once a week, just to get/send updates.The above should be OK.

  • Forms migration from 2.0 to Forms 10g/11g

    Hi,
    I want to migrate from forms 2.0 to 10g/11g. I know the migration path is 2.0->4.5->6i->10g/11g . I want to know is it feasible to do the migration from 2.0 to 10g/11g. what are the recommendations.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Noman

    PITTS claim to be able to migrate forms from Forms 2.3 onwards.
    http://www.pitss.com/solutions/pitsscon-solutions/forms-to-forms/
    It depends on how much you want to spend...
    However, if you're looking to do it yourself...
    Do you have access to developer versions of Forms V3.0 or 4.5? It's easier if you go from 2.0 -> 3.0 -> 4.5/6i -> 10g. Each version has its own migration utilities, but they gradually remove support for earlier versions. Version 2 (2.3) triggers can exist in version 3, but not in later versions.
    Do you have experience of Forms 6i or 10g? If not, you have the scope to re-write the application in the language of your choice. The Oracle website has a number of articles on migrating from Forms 3 and 6i, but not from earlier versions, so it depends on your current knowledge as to how you want to do.
    I've migrated Forms 3.0 (with 2.3 style triggers) to 10g by hand. It requires an understanding of how Forms used to work compared to how it works now. You will basically be creating your new application from scratch (depending on what you have been able to upgrade) based on the the blocks and items of your old forms. Your task will be so much easier if you have the intermediate Forms developer tools (4.5/6i).
    You'll also be upgrading your database. I assume that you are on Oracle 6/7.

  • PGP Encryption support in SOA Suite 11g

    Hi,
    Looking for PGP encryption support in SOA Suite 11g as we have a requirement to encrypt the file using PGP encryption and send over SFTP.
    I already went through some of the forums posts but they are date back to 2007, so just wanted to confirm if there is anything in recent releases of SOA Suite.
    - FTP adapter support or
    - OWSM suppport.
    As far as i know, we have to install some PGP tool and write a script to encrypt/decrypt and call the script from BPEL. this conclusion is based on a stmt given in the OWSM 10g book by sitaraman.
    Please provide your insights on this.
    Thanks
    Siva

    Hi Siva,
    I don't think still there is any support for PGP in Oracle SOA. You may use java for PGP encryption/decryption and transfer externally encoded messages over SFTP.

    I need to show in a FORM 10g/11g an image that is recovered from a Web Service (XML format).
    (The Web Service retrieves several images from SQL Server database).
    versions previous 6i... one use field type ActiveX Control, and there showed the respective images, even with previous and next controls. Aspect that new versions of form 10g & 11g is obsolete.

    I tried it doing it this way and it worked -
    1. copy the image into the directory aliased in 9iAS configuration file as '/images/'.
    2. In the PL/SQL code section after header, I write the following code -
    begin
    htp.p('<img src="/images/pobexp.gif"/>');
    end;

  • How to apply an XSLT transformation in OSB

    Hello all ,
    I tried to made a simple example - that apply a simple XSLT transformation in OSB .
    I followed the http://blog.jayway.com/2010/05/07/xslt-transformations-in-oracle-service-bus/ example but still is not working in my project .
    If I apply the imported xslt over the xml in testing window is working fine .
    But the action to replace the content of the xml with the new one is not working.
    Here is the xslt
    <xsl:template match="/">
    <ns0:donateToFund>
    <arg0>
    <xsl:value-of select="/Report/CustomerName"/>

    <eSiliconPartNo>ee</eSiliconPartNo>
    <Sector>ee</Sector>
    <Location>eee</Location>
    </Row>
    - <Row>
    In my action I put /Report as XPath ; body as variable and XSL fro transformation .
    Can anyone help to fix this ?
    Many thanks in advance,

    Following works for me:
    XSLT
    <xsl:stylesheet xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform" version="1.0">

         <arg2>Customer Report</arg2>
         </ns0:donateToFund>I am using a single Replace action in the request pipeline.
    It works for both configs below:
    Replace [ entire node ] of [ ./* ] in [ body ] with [Xslt Resource: default/OTN/temp
    Input Document: $body/Report
    Variable Names And Bindings ]
    Or
    Replace [ Node Contents ] of [ . ] in [ body ] with [Xslt Resource: default/OTN/temp
    Input Document: $body/Report
    Variable Names And Bindings ]
    You need to ensure that if you are doing replace entire node of . in body or / in body then you should replace it with an XML whose root node is soap:Body. To achieve that you will need to change the XSL and add soap:Body as root of the output. Easier solution is to use replace contents of . body or replace entire node of ./* in body.

  • Maximum Data file size in 10g,11g

    DB Versions:10g, 11g
    OS & versions: Aix 6.1, Sun OS 5.9, Solaris 10
    This is what Oracle 11g Documentation
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B28359_01/server.111/b28320/limits002.htm
    says about the Maximum Data file size
    Operating system dependent. Limited by maximum operating system file size;typically 2^22 or 4 MB blocksI don't understand what this 2^22 thing is.
    In our AIX machine and ulimit command show
    $ ulimit -a
    time(seconds)        unlimited
    file(blocks)         unlimited  <-------------------------------------------
    data(kbytes)         unlimited
    stack(kbytes)        4194304
    memory(kbytes)       unlimited
    coredump(blocks)     unlimited
    nofiles(descriptors) unlimited
    threads(per process) unlimited
    processes(per user)  unlimitedSo, this means, In AIX that both the OS and Oracle can create a data file of any Size. Right?
    What about 10g, 11g DBs running on Sun OS 5.9 and Solaris 10 ? Is there any Limit on the data file size?

    How do i determine maximum number of blocks for an OS?df -g would give you the block size. OS blocksize is 512 bytes on AIX.
    Lets say the db_block_size is 8k. What would the maximum file size for data file in Small File tablespace and Big File tablespace be?Smallfile (traditional) Tablespaces - A smallfile tablespace is a traditional Oracle tablespace, which can contain 1022 datafiles or tempfiles, each of which can contain up to approximately 4 million (222) blocks. - 32G
    A bigfile tablespace contains only one datafile or tempfile, which can contain up to approximately 4 billion ( 232 ) blocks. The maximum size of the single datafile or tempfile is 128 terabytes (TB) for a tablespace with 32K blocks and 32TB for a tablespace with 8K blocks.

  • Calling Stored Procedure Using OSB 10g R3

    Hi Guys,
    I wanted to know what is the best way to call a Stored Proc from OSB 10 g R3.
    I am using MS SQL 2005 server.

    The DB Adapter does, in fact, support SQL Server in 10.1.3.x. The adapter configuration wizard does not support SQL Server so a command-line utility is necessary in order to generate the BPEL artifacts (XSD and WSDL). Once the artifacts are created, it is very easy to create a partner link to a SQL Server stored procedure. The adapter runtime has no restrictions beyond what is stated in the documentation. Note that the wizard will support SQL Server in 11g.
