Versioning and WEBUI Upload

I notice that it is possible to upload a versioned file using the WEBUI despite it not being currently checked out. By looking at the History you get the comment 'new version via MultiPart Upload' (browse option) or 'ContentResolver Checkin comment!!' (drag and drop).
I imagine this may be something to do with the restrictions of FTP but this would seem to render the check in/out facility almost useless, as any number of users can drop in new versions of files at any time without first checking them out.
Can you confirm if this is a bug or is it an already known feature with plans to fix in a forthcoming release?
I am on a Windows 98 client, Solaris 2.6/Oracle 8.1.7 server with iFS 1.1.6.0.0.

Chris, this is expected functionality. I'm assuming that you users have the ability to update the document. In SMB, due to the vagarites of the M/S SMB Command set, we cannot tell when a user copy takes place whether this is a deliberate action by the user or the result of some application such as MS-Word 95/97 making a copy of a document as part of some checkpoint operation. Consequently in SMB we do not allow automatic versioning.
With FTP and HTTP automatic versioning is supported if a document in not checked out, and if the user uploading the document has the ability to update the earlier version of the document.

Changed a webpage with new photos and text, uploaded it to FTP. But when I visit the website, the old version of the page is there instead of the new page.

I changed one of my webpages, adding pictures with hyperlinks and text. When I preview the website and webpage the changes appear. I upload it with Muse's FTP uploader and everything goes smoothly. But when I visit the website, it displays the old version of the webpage.

I have the same issue.
Yes, I use a third party FTP client. I have cleared browser history and cache. Still shows up. I even DELETED the entire site and re-uploaded the new one with the same results. What am I missing? Why does the old page keep showing up? Tried 3 different browser apps and a different computer.

Sorry, by not working I mean I click on the icon and itunes starts up - shows me the library screen with all my music on it, says accessing account and then pops up a message saying it has encountered a problem and needs to close. When I say ok, it closes and goes away!

Just fixed this issue for iTunes for Windows with minimal damage, try:
1. Browse to "C:\Users\<YourUserName>\AppData\Roaming" in Windows Explorer.
2. Rename the "Apple Computer" folder to "Apple Computer-old".
3. Start iTunes
4. Close iTunes
5. Copy the file "iTunesPrefs.xml" from "C:\Users\<YourUserName>\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer-old\iTunes"
6. Paste the old "iTunesPrefs.xml" into the new "Apple Computer\iTunes" folder iTunes just created (not the one you renamed) under "C:\Users\<YourUserName>\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer-old\iTunes"
7. Overwrite the new iTunesPrefs.xml with your old copy of the file.
If you don't care about losing your iTunes preferences then you can just do step 2. You can always go back and grab things from the old folder later if you realize you wanted to have your EQ settings, individual track gains, etc...

How to download variants of program of one version and upload them to another version

Hi Gurus,
I am new to ABAP.
I have a requirement to download variants (more than hundred ) of a program in one version (4.7) and upload them to the corresponding program version 6.0 of sap. Is there any option in the menu bar to download them while executing.
The difference between uploading and downloading a program between different versions and
Tansporting program between different version.
I am confused .Please suggest me solutions if you have any.

Empty/corrupt library after upgrade/crash
Hopefully it's not been too long since you last upgraded iTunes, in fact if you get an empty/incomplete library immediately after upgrading then with the following steps you shouldn't lose a thing or need to do any further housekeeping. Note that in iTunes 11 an "empty" library may show your past purchases with links to stream or download them.
In the Previous iTunes Libraries folder should be a number of dated iTunes Library files. Take the most recent of these and copy it into the iTunes folder. Rename iTunes Library as iTunes Library (Corrupt) and then rename the restored file as iTunes Library.itl. Start iTunes. Should all be good, bar any recent additions to or deletions from your library.
Alternatively, depending on exactly when and why the library went missing, there may be a more recent .tmp file in the main iTunes folder that can be renamed as iTunes Library.itl to restore the library to a recent state.
See iTunes Folder Watch for a tool to catch up with any changes since the backup file was created.
When you get it all working make a backup!
Should you be in the unfortunate position where you are no longer able to access your original library, or a backup of it, then see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device.

I had the trial version and now that I uploaded the 12 full version it well not let me in .

I had the trial version and hit Buy , than I hit full version, after downlaod it did not put on a new icon and when I hit what I hit to open the trial it will not open for me to put the serial # given after the download, I also still have the version 7 Icon still working I thought it took it Off at install . I can't get Mozilla Drag and Drop Uploader to work. Suggestions for troubleshooting?

I have a recurring need to post 100's of photos from "My Pictures" to a web site. I currently click on "Browse", up pops the photo file, and I then must manually select the proper photos and double click them to move them to the web site.
A colleague who has the same recurring need has told me to download Firefox as my browser, then download and install the "Drag and Drop Uploader". By doing this, I should be able to simply highlight the proper photos from 'My Pictures" and drag them to the correct box on the web site.
I have seen him do this on his computer, so I know it is possible. I'm guessing the problem I am having lies in having downloaded incompatible versions.

Hi,
WS_* Function modules are replaced by GUI_* FMs from 4.7 SAP version.
GUI_* modules have additional parameters when compared with WS_* FMs.
Both FM are used for uploading data .
But ws_upload is obsolete now .
WS_UPLOAD and WS_DOWNLOAD, the function modules used until now are not part of the standard set of ABAP commands. They are used to display the file interface on the presentation server. WS_UPLOAD and WS_DOWNLOAD are not compatible with USs and have been replaced by GUI_UPLOAD and GUI_DOWNLOAD.
The new function modules, GUI_UPLOAD and GUI_DOWNLOAD, have an interface that also allows you to write Unicode format to the local hard drive. For a description of these interfaces, refer to the documentation for each function module, available under SAP Easy Access " Development " Function Builder " Goto " Documentation.
WS_UPLOAD, GUI_UPLOAD FMs are used in BDCs.
WS_UPLOAD loads files from the Presentation Server to Internal ABAP Tables.
This is used upto SAP 4.6 version.
GUI_UPLOAD is used to loads a file from the PC to the server. The data can be
transferred in binary or text format. Numbers and data fields can be
interpreted according to the user settings.

SharePoint 365 Deploy App -- "another App with the same version and product ID."

Hi all
When I want to deploy App I got this message:
2>Active Deployment Configuration: Deploy App for SharePoint
2> Skipping deployment step because a pre-deployment command is not specified.
2> Skipping the uninstall step because the app for SharePoint is not installed on the server.
2> Install app for SharePoint:
2> Uploading the app for SharePoint...
2>Error occurred in deployment step 'Install app for SharePoint': The provided App differs from another App with the same version and product ID.
If the App exist why it doesn't uninstall it. And also its not possible to Retract:
Skipping the uninstall step because the app for SharePoint is not installed on the server.
I solved my problem by changing ProductID manually but I don't want to make the server with dirty small apps.
Any idea?

Hi,
Check the Site URL in project properties to which the app is installed.
You have to choose the right path first where the app is installed and then Build>Retract.
Then change the path to new one and try build. It looks like you are trying to retract from wrong Site URL.

Why I can't import iMovie into Apple Configurator without asking me for more codes. If iMovie is free, and I upgraded the latest version and to Yosemite.

Previously, our school bought a number of codes for iMovie. One of our MacAirs that supervises some iPads through Apple Configurator showed that it was free. However, another Mac Air did not saying that I needed to import more codes. I upgraded everything, software, iMovie in iTunes, and Apple Configurator. Everytime I upload iMovie into Configurator it shows I only have 2 codes, while on the other MacAir, it shows it as free.

Can I import photos from iPhoto ('08; 7.1.5) into latest version of Aperture without upgrading my iPhoto to the iPhoto '11 version?
To elaborate a bit on TD's answer:
You can import only folders of images or selected image files that have been exported from older iPhoto libraries, not the libraries themself.
Aperture 3.4.5 cannot work with iPhoto Libraries that have not been upgraded to iPhoto 9.4. or later at all:
You cannot open them in Aperture:
And you cannot import them as a library to create an Aperture library from the older iPhoto Library.
Without upgrading to iPhoto '11 your only option would be to export your original images and the edited versions from iPhoto '08 and to import the folders of images into Aperture. That would be a lot of work, a waste of disk space, and break the lossless workflow. You will clutter your Aperture library with duplicates (version and edite image) that are no proper original-version pairs.
For a smooth transit from iPhoto to Aperture I strongly recommend to bite the bullet and to upgrade to iPhoto '11 to upgrade your iPhoto libraries to the new version 9.4.3 to preserve all the previous work - albums, books, ratings - you have done in iPhoto.

Then it's probably YouTube - have you checked here to see that you're watching the hi res version? It could be that YouTube is choosing an easier version to display based on your internet connection.
You can see on this screenshot that although the video has up to 1080 specs, my connection is making YouTube show me the 360p version by default.

If my LR3 CD is cracked, can I download trail version and activate with my serial number?

Hi, I bought a copy of LR3 a little over a year ago and it has only been uploaded to my desktop PC. Yesterday I bought a new computer and found that my CD of LR3 is cracked and could not be uploaded to the new computer. Can I download the free trail version and activate it with my serial number? Or can I move the whole program off of my old computer onto a DVD and transfer it to my new computer? I don't want to have to buy it again since I've only had it one year and only had it on one computer. Please help!

Follow the Very Important Instructions on that page first otherwise the links will not work.
When you launch the trial, enter your serial number to convert it to a full version.

I use BlueHost webhosting that has a primary domain and I have several domains with that account (as sub-domains or folders on this server) - with past versions of Muse when uploading pages it simply opened an alert window to tell me (what I already know) that the website I was uploading does not point to the primary domain BUT NOW Muse tries to create a new separate folder in the root directory of the primary domain - completely ignoring the directory path I am giving it - useless! Why make these senseless changes to the program - and so often - very frustrating it is like amateur ware!.

There are some issues with the upload to ftp via Muse, which the engineering team is aware of and those will be fixed in a future build of Muse. At this point the work around would be to export the html from Muse and then upload via some third party ftp client like filezilla.

SharePoint stp template is missing Language, Version and Feature ID.

I uploaded a new template(.stp file) to List Template gallery.
But it is not showing Language, version and Feature ID.
As a result, I am not able to create a new library using the template.
Any idea how to fix this?

According to your post, my understanding is that you wanted to SharePoint stp template missed Language, Version and Feature ID.
Firstly, please check whether you create list template correctly.
Secondly, please make sure you don’t edit the template.
Finnaly, please use PowerShell to enable the 'ParserEnabled' property for the web site.
