Versions of Applications in Creative Suite

With regard to Creative Cloud is there a way of keeping track of the version of the application installed? I heard that Adobe will no longer use a suite numbering system? I read on Adobe's website "You are not required to install any new version of the desktop software available in your membership."  In this instance Is there going to be a way to track the version of the package like you can now with perpetual licenses while clicking on About InDesign in the menu where InDesign CS6 displays version 8.0.1 as the version?
Danny

There will be the version numbers with every creative cloud applications.
You can check the version numbers from the same workflow (help>About <Application name> in windows, in Mac <Application name>/About <Application>)
As soon as any update will be introduced the version number will be updated accordingly.

    Hi Sophie,
Normally you can find your serial registered to your AdobeId. To find it please login to the Adobe website and check if you did register it to your account.
Serial number, Redemption, and Product codes | Student & Teacher Editions
In general you will go true a educational verification afterwards you get the serial. So its in your email or account. If you still have issues get in contact with the chat team to get help.
    Good luck!

  • My wish for a Mac version of InDesign and Creative Suite

Adobe seems bent on making both the Mac and Windows versions of CS4 be exactly alike. I truly wish that Adobe would add some things that are available on the Mac, even if they are not on the PC. As long as the core of the program is the same, this should not be an issue.
I'm speaking of being able to hover my cursor over some text and typing Control-Command-D to bring up the pop-up dictionary. Having an Open In Dictionary option in the Control-Click contextual menu. Even access to that awful looking Apple Fonts palette because I do make sets of font in Font Book and I cannot see those sets in ID's font menus. How about access to the Character Palette in the Edit menu? Do I need more? Yes! Why does the new version of ID default to taking up the entire screen as a Windows program? This is not the Macintosh way, I think.
Microsoft learned their lesson a long time ago when they released a version of Office that they bragged was exactly the same as the Windows counterpart. Well, it was very, very slow to launch and I think it sold miserably. After that, they have gone out of their way to produce Mac-versions of their programs, I think, even having that Mactopia website for a while. I wish Adobe would learn this lesson, too. Besides pricing CS4 upgrades awfully high, I think, same as Windows approach is one of the major reasons I will not upgrade to CS 4.

You can change the display option so that Id CS4 looks more like a Mac app from the Window menu by deselecting Application Frame. This feature is also in Ai and Ps CS4.

  • Cannot install Student version of Creative Suite 6 Master Collection

Since I'm in college I bought the Student version of the Adobe creative suite Master Collection CS6. It installed fine at that time but that computer died and so I had to get a new one. This one is also running windows 7. When I run the disk it has no *run* option. Instead all I can do is open the folder and I don't see an exe or any kind of file to install it. What on earth do I do? I have to have this for my flash class.

You can try downloading the installation file(s) thru the following page and then use your serial number to activate.

  • Creative suite web standard and vista 32 bit

Since purchasing a new computer with Vista my old web software which ran fine on XP is now obsolete and I need to purchase new.
What is the lowest version of the Adobe Creative Suite Web Standard that will work on Vista Home Basic SP1 with media 32 Edition? The CS2 design software is working fine, it's just the web suite I need but I've seen some postings where their version of CS2 didn't work?
Also, any suggestions on where to get the best price?

Thanks. Well, I think from your response I should be alright with the laptop/ cs4. Although, now I question another aspect...you stated that vista 64 should have 6gb, the laptop that was "designed" only has 4gb.  Part of the reason I am questioning everything is that I need to make sure this laptop will work w/ everything otherwise I am sending it back, I have unfortunitly found that it is not compatible with my wireless internet service.  So either I send it back and reorder with vista 32 or purchase different wireless service. I would prefer not to send the laptop back, but now I am questioning every aspect of it so that hopefully 6mo. from now I don't say "I guess I should have ordered....." , I was just assuming that the info I was not sure about while ordering the computer is why there are "designers/ professionals" available to talk to.
Anyway, here are is some info on the laptop:
    Studio 1537, Intel core 2 duo T6400, 2.0GHz, 800Mhz, 2M L2 cache
    4GB, DDR2, 800MHz 2 Dimm
256MB ATI mobility radeon HD 3450
    320G 5400RPM SATA hard drive

  • I am wondering if I can upload Creative Suite 2 to my new IMac??

I am trying to figure out if I can upload my Creative Suite 2 (Cs2) to my new IMac. OSX 10.8.2
I cannot afford the newest version of Photoshop! Will this be compatible and safe to upload?
    Any help is greatly appreciated

You can do as I did.
Look to Amazon.com for newer, but less expensive versions of the Adobe Creative Suite or the individual Adobe apps.
I purchased Adobe CS3 Design Standard upgrade from an Amazon seller for a reasonable price. I can't remember what the actual price was, but was reasonably cheap.
Adobe CS3and up will run under OS X 10.8.
CS3 was the cheapest to upgrade to for me.You may want to pay a little extra for, say Adobe CS4 if you need to be a little more current.
Just make sure that the seller has unregistered the version of Adobe CS that the seller is selling and that the seller provides all of registration numbers as you will need these to re-register the CS version you purchase under your name. You may need the old registration info of the previous user, as well.
Before purchasing, contact the Adobe CS seller to make sure the seller can and will supply you with all of the registration info you may need.
    Good Luck!

  • I purchased a Dreamweaver MX recently and I am trying to find a way to activate it so that it can be used longer than the 30 day trial period.  I also purchased a Creative Suite Premium at the same time, same problems.

Is there a place on the website where older versions of Dreamweaver and Creative Suite can be registered and activated?

Unable to activate | Macromedia products - http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/macromedia-legacy-activation-error.html
As far as Creative Suites go, there are about 7 of them, so which one are you having a problem with?  If it happens to be CS2 or older, then see the following...   Error: Activation Server Unavailable | CS2, Acrobat 7, Audition 3 - http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/creative-suite-2-activation-end-life.htm l

  • Font not working in Creative Suite

I have been using League Gothic for years and all of a sudden it has stopped working in CS. Photoshop and Illustrator won't open any of my existing files that use this font. At first I thought the font file was corrupted, so I tossed it and re-installed. Still doesn't work in CS. I'm able to use this font in other applications, but creative suite does not like it as of 24 hours ago.
Is there some sort of global font preference file for CS that I can delete? I'm at a loss for what to do next.
If I create a new document, I can see League Gothic in the menu and select it, but the display on the screen doesn't update. If I use the type tool and select League Gothic as the font and then start typing it reverts back to myriad.
Illustrator files that use this font crash on open. Photoshop throws an error about needing to update the file. If I select update, it just doesn't open. If I select ignore, it will open, but I can't edit any of the layers that have league gothic in them, and pretty much anything I select in the file throws an error, something to the effect of "this could not be completed due to a program error"

I  finally tracked it down. The font file was Open Type and it wasn't the culprit. It was a "saved" project file that After Effects made for me when it crashed the night before. I was using this typeface in the project. Somehow this file polluted the whole CS.
Threw the .aep file away, emptied the trash, and restarted and everything in the world was good again.

  • Upgrading from creative suite premium 2 to creative suite 5.5 standard

    Is this possible?
Trying to do this but I cannot select the creative suite premium 2 from the drop down menu of the CS 5.5.

Well I only have the screenshot of the options, and the language is in finnish but basically I have installes the computer again. Then I installed the CS5.5. First as a trial version. After the installation I proceeded to input the code from CS5.5 which was accepted. Then the program asks for the code of the older product I posses as I am installing the upgrade version.
Are there different version of the upgrade versions? example that I need different upgrade version if I have old Photoshop and different upgrade version for the older creative suite?

  • Adobe Creative Suite CS2 Universal?

Hello! I've installed my an old version of Photoshop recently on my MacBook Pro and I noticed a lot of lag and slow downs when I'm drawing with my Wacom tablet on the canvas. I was just wondering if Adobe released a universal version of Photoshop and Creative Suite as I need to design my art portfolio for my clients to see. Thanks!

There's a Universal Binary (Beta) of CS3 available here

  • Can't get Creative Suite Builder SDK to show up

I downloaded the Creative Suite SDK unzipped it.  I am using Flash Builder 4 on Windows but I tried on Mac too.  From the Preferences Install/Update section I clicked Add Site and pointed to the folder "CreativeSuiteSDK" that was in the contents of the .zip file and named my site "CS SDK".  It doesn't complain but I do not get CS Extension Builder to show up in Window > Perspective > Other even after restarting Flash Builder 4. If I go back into Preferences Install/Update section and click the "Test Connection" button on the "CS SDK" site I get the following error:
    "No repository found at file:/C:/Program%20Files/Adobe/CreativeSuiteSDK-1.0.0/CreativeSuiteSDK/."
    Help!
    -Scott

After seeing Ian Paterson's presentation about developing with LCDS and Extension Builder in CS products I was excited to start learning since I have a lot of experience with LCDS, Flex, and ColdFusion as a back end server.   I Googled how to get started.  I landed on this page:
    http://cssdk.host.adobe.com/sdk/1.0/docs/WebHelp/getting_started/developing.htm
It describes how to install the EB plugin but frequently refers to the CS SDK.  It provides no download links to either, so I Googled for the download.  I landed on this page to download the SDK.
    http://www.adobe.com/devnet/creativesuite/sdk/eula_cs5.html
After attempting to follow the instructions in the SDK Developing guide in the first link using the bits downloaded from the second link, I ran into this "No Repository" issue which frustrated me for a while:
    http://twitpic.com/2fxfbi
After more researching, I landed on the page that I probably should have started with:
    http://www.adobe.com/devnet/creativesuite/sdk/
There, it lists the CS SDK side by side with the EB.  The EB appears to not be publicly available, but rather only to Adobe Partners and/or those in the "Enterprise Developer" program.  Fortunately, I can log in as a Partner, but only to be greeted with a main welcome page, and I have no idea how to find or download EB from the Partner portal.
The point of my post here is to say that I think Adobe can do a much better job describing the differences between CS SDK and EB in all the related documentation, guides, and readme's, and where to get the download.  To those just learning the topic this seems to be an initial obstacle.  Many (all?) of the guides do not provide a clear download location for where to get either.   They refer to the download, but don't help you find it, at all, e.g. "To install the Adobe Creative Suite Extension Builder,   download the ZIP file and unzip it into a root location"
I own Adobe Creative Suite CS 5 Master Collection.  I own Flex Builder 4 (ships with CS5 MC).  I own ColdFusion Builder.  Why don't I have clear and immediate access to obtaining the Adobe CS Extension Builder?
Does Adobe want developers to build cool, enterprise level, distributed applications for Creative Suite or not?  Make it easier.
    Thank you.
    [Edit]
It only seems fitting that this post end with a sheesh.
    Sheesh!!

  • After downloading & installing application of adobe creative suite cs2 version 6,  screen of adobe photoshop cs2 is not opened by clicking icon . message is giving " ausba4.dll " was not present. Please guide me.?

I have downloaded & installed adobe creative suit cs2 version 6 but when I click the icon of adobe photoshop in desktop it is not opened & giving message " this application has failed to start because " ausba4.dll " was not found. reinstalling of the application may fix the problem " I have reinstall & opened many times but even then it is not opened. Please guide me accordingly.

I'd try disabling the Twain_32.8BA plugin in
    C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS2\Plug-Ins\Import-Export
You can disable the plugin by putting an ~ (tilde) in front of the name or moving the plugin to your desktop.
Then try photoshop cs2 and see if you still get the error message.
I suspect the error has to do with your scanner driver, since photoshop cs2 does not have an ausba4.dll

  • Want to uninstall previous versions of Creative Suite applications

Been working in CC 2014 for a while now, want to delete CS4 through 5.5 applications that are still on my computer, because they no longer run in Mavericks or Yosemite.
I still have discs for this stuff. Do I run uninstallers from them, or trash the folders, or what? I see something about a CC Cleaner, but I want to ensure that my CS6 and CC apps remain intact.
Your advice is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

    Hi Shawn
I agree with what Keith stated if you can use the uninstallers. If you need to use the Adobe Clean tool here is a link for it.
