Versions of libs for 8.1.5 under Slackware 4.0 ? Help !!!

Hi !
Please help me with versions of glibc,
glibc-threads and glibc-crypt for Oracle 8.1.5.
I used glibc2.1.1 binaries from RH6.0 as
runtime libraries under Slackware 4.0 and SQLPLUS
crashes with Segmentation fault.
I compiled glibc2.1.2, glibc-crypt-2.0.6 and
glibc-linuxthreads-2.1.1 and installed them as
runtime libraries. The result doesn't differ.
SQLPLUS crashes.
I tried to use SUSE patches for 8.1.5. SQLPLUS
crashes too. But some problems have fixed there.
What versions of libraries do I need ?
I have to install glibc as primary libraries ?

Looking at the error message "The Network Adapter could not establish the connection" , It appears hostname and port may be incorrect. Review the targets.xml under E:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1\SAP_solman_SDB\emd and
emoms.properties under E:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1\SAP_solman_SDB\config folder to make sure host ( sap_solman) and port (1527) are correct.
As far as setting the environment variables goes, you can go to control panel -> system -> advanced -> environment variables and set the ORACLE_HOME and ORACLE_SID

Have you quit and re-launched iTunes? Does the menu item become active then? Or are you trying to convert a protected file, which isn't possible. You can tell if the file is protected by doing a Get Info. If Kind says "protected AAC audio file" the file can not be converted in-place. It must first be burned to Audio CD which you can then import into iTunes as an MP3.

In Pages I used to be able to edit a template and "save a version" to update the template. Now i have to rename the template to save the changes. Why is this happening? what happen to "save a version"? its no longer an option under "file".

In your description you say the first document opens as the Title you gave it.
Templates always open as Untitled so it sounds like you have saved a regular document, perhaps into your templates folder which is possible.
Since you have already worked on it and it has been previously saved, Lion will now Save for you and Save a Version is available
The other document does open as Untitled so sounds like a real template and as Peggy has pointed out will not have either Revert nor Save a Version until you Save it and have changed something in it.
This is a classic example of just how Apple's supposedly "simplification" of the process, is leading to confusion of what has happened. That the conditions and resulting actions from those conditions is so convoluted says it all.
It all reminds me of the Monty Python Life of Brian sketch with the "simplified" John Cleese instructions to the class, as to if you have a brother in an older dorm whether to hang your hat and bag on the hooks provided. If you are wondering why you are not getting any responses, it is because you have vented a complaint without any details that make any sense or give anyone something to work on.
If you want help, I suggest actually detailing what has happened, with versions of software etc. Anything that would let us assist.
As a start I am guessing that you have not really got the hang of "How it all works". Firstly download the Pages09_UserGuide.pdf from under the Help menu. Read that and view the Video Tutorials in the same place. A good addition would be the iWork 09 Missing manual book and something to help you learn how to use your Mac.

ITunes version 6.0 now "the" band listed under letter "t"

After I downloaded the newest version of iTunes, all bands that have a "The" in their name, are listed under the letter "t" and not under their actual name. This wasn't the case with the previous iTunes versions. I have tons of music on my iPod and it is really annoying to have to look for a "The"-band under "t". Anyone knows how to change that?

the only way i know of to force, say, "The Pixies" to alphabetise under "T" in itunes is to replace the standard space between the "e" and the "P" with an alt-0160 "space" ...
... so let us experiment. right-click the trackname of one of the affected songs, select "get info" go to the "info" tab.
delete the space between the "The" and "[first word after that]". replace it with a standard space produced by your space bar. okay out of that screen. is that track back in it's rightful place in the library?

Yes, the _softCopy starts out at 0. However, please remember that the _softCopy isn't always 0. After the line you mention runs, a value is saved in newValue...after flushing newValue to the register, that value is also saved in _softCopy. Basically, this proceedure ensures that the other bit fields in _softCopy are not modified unintentionally.
If you have any doubts about what is happening, I would recommend stepping through the code while it is running so that you can see what is happening in that line (you may wan to break it out into multiple lines).

Regarding the errors you are getting in RTX, please follow the readme for building the examples with this OS interface. The Readme says that it was tested with RTX 6.1. If you are using a later version, you may need to contend with any changes that may have happened with this operating system. If you work through any issues, please post back to let us know what went wrong. We welcome any feedback about this OS interface!

Which version of OCCI for Oracle XE 10.2?

Hi,
I have Oracle XE, Linux version 10.2.0.1 installed. I want to connect my C++ application running on the same machine as the database.
I've seen lots of dire warnings about the importance of making sure that the right versions are installed, but after trawling through the (frankly confusing) documentation I can't for the life of me work out which version of the OCCI I'm supposed to use to connect to this version of the database. Can somebody please tell me?
Also, as I want to run this application on the same machine as the database, can I use some of the libraries that are installed with Oracle 10g, rather than having to install them separately?

Hi,
The key parts where the version is truly important when using OCCI are:
- the compiler (and runtime libraries)
- the OCCI libraries
- the Oracle Client version
Under Linux the OCCI version 10.2 libraries are compatible with gcc (g++) 3.4.3 through 4.1.x versions so you should be OK with that part.
When using Express Edition on Linux and having everything on the same machine you automatically have a "match" between the Oracle Client and OCCI libraries (since they are all under the one and only Oracle Home).
On my Express Edition test machine I have the following version of gcc and I have not had any issues (so far!) with OCCI and the database installed "as is":

Libs for Eclipse 3.3 on Solaris 8 and 10

I am trying to upgrade the eclipse 3.1 IDE we have installed on our Solaris 8 machine. There are 5 required libraries not presently on the machine. They are:
libgtk-x11-2.0.so.0
libgdk-pixbuf-2.0.so.0
libgobject-2.o.so.0
libglib-2.0.so.0
libgdk-x11-s.0.so.0
I have scrounged around but cannot find a source for these libraries for Solaris. Can someone point me to a source, please?
I also need to install eclipse 3.3 on our Solaris 10 (SPARC) machines. All the libraries seems already to be there except one:
libgdk-pixbuf-2.0.so.0
Am I likely to find this lib for Solaris 10 at the same place I might find the ones for Solaris 8?

Albeit Sun Studio 12 doesn't support Solaris 8, while Sun Studio 11 does, you would probably want to use 12's IDE during development process, so give it a try. You can use compilers from Sun Studio 11 (stable version already available) together with IDE/debugger from Sun Studio 12 (EA available for download and stable version on its way).

When you purchase an HD movie or show, in most cases the SD copy can be downloaded from your purchases area in iTunes. On the main iTunes Store page, go to Purchases under the Quick Links and then select Movies or TV shows as appropraite. Click the "Not On This Computer" button. Uncheck the "Download HD when available" box and you should then see the SD copies of the movies/shows and be able to download them.
Note that with digital copies from a Blu-Ray or DVD, if it comes with an HD copy, you normally cannot get the SD copy as well and have to purchase it separately if you want it.

Using different versions of libs with certain programs

This has been something bugging me for a while now in Arch, but up til now not enough to start trying to find a solution.
What is going on is that I have a variety of programs I would like to run from /home/usr_name/software which is the dir where I stick stuff I don't want/need to install. A lot of programs in this category come with their own versions of libs that differ from those I often have installed elsewhere in the usual places. The problem I run into is that Arch always prefers the installed libs over the ones found locally in the programs own dir tree.
Is there something I can do to change this default behavior, or at least something I can add in the terminal each time I run one of these programs to force it to look where I want it to for the local versions of the libs?

Got a little side tracked as the UPS guy showed up with my new graphics tablet shortly after I made that post.
Once I look into it and try it out on a few things I will come back and update how it went and mark this solved.

received errors SP2-0614:Server version too low for this feature
ORA-01034:ORACLE not available
Source System: Oracle 8.1.7.4, Kernel 620, HP-UX 11.11 9000/800
I went though Oracle site for this issue and it says, that we need go for patch to resolve this issue. But I am not sure, if this is needed or not. Shall I can continue upgrade without this patch?
Please help me to resolve this issue.

AppleCare only provides 3 years of support and hardware warranty from factory defects.
You'll have to purchase upgrades for OS X much like you will for your third party software.

Export for quick time running under windows?

I am coming to Final cut X pro from Imovie. Under Imovie I could export a movie that would run under quicktime for both Mac and Windows computers. Now using Final cut X pro, when I export for quicktime, my movie works fine using a Mac computer but fails under windows. When I attempt to open the movie quicktime tells me I have a problem with the codec. It indicates that I need an add on, but does not indicate which one is needed. Share works great for output to my Ipad. What I like to do is export to quicktime and use a windows computer to output to a wide screen tv. I down loaded the latest version of quicktime for windows. Under the share option what codec option should I chose, or do I require an add in to Quicktime? Thanks.

Not that you should have to, but try to make your final export from Compressor to see if that works better. Perhaps this can help you isolate the problem. H.264 should work in Windows, so you could also check your export on a different PC to see if the problem is on the receiving end.
I'll put in my vote here for Flip-for-mac getting their components to play nice with FCX. I have always found it a handy tool.
