Versions with unavailable original files

"Versions with unavailable original files cannot be shared."
But I store all originals in the Aperture file. All in one place.
I would like to make a smart album that would show me which images are lacking originals but don't see the right criteria to check- anyone have ideas?
(If it matters? All previews are 'don't limit' and '12'. Why? Because I need to drag images from Preview to FileMaker; when you drag from aperture you drag previews, not originals, and I need to drag the full size image).

We are on FM Pro Advanced v13. I use Advanced because I need the additional scripting utilities and the custom menus. I know about Media Browser but never thought of using it. Maybe I should describe the project.
I'm preparing a reference book on plant material for zones 10+ (Tropicals), and in the course of this work over the past few years have been collecting photographs (with the iPhone more and more, as it turns out). The photo collection is nowhere near complete; I am adding perhaps 50 images a week and will be doing so for another year or so– have to catch the plants flowering.
The editorial portion of the research is managed in Scrivener (that's where I write my weekly column so I'm used to it). FMP isnt really suitable as a text editor, although I do use it in my practice for memos and proposal. And believe it or not, I track citations in TextEdit.
Back to FMP: as the research progresses we have mocked up pages, thinking how they might look. I also use the database in my normal practice as a landscape architect. Both of these uses require photos, but the photos are in Aperture.
The workflow in Aperture involved assigning stars to images and uploading them to Flickr for my co-author to review.
To get the images over to FMP, I just drag them from Aperture to FMP container fields. And THAT is why I have the previews so big.
This is very far from ideal mostly because there is no linked relationship. In the end, I always imagined I would delte all photos from FMP and start over, dragging images to the appropriate record. This actually makes some sense because sometimes there are a dozen photos of each plant but only 6 container fields in each record. I could add more but realistically getting a dozen into print will be a miracle. More, even less so.
That's my story and suggestions are very welcome. It's clunky as ****.

  • Versions with unavailable original files cannot be exported.

I have imported some photos into Aperture and worked on them, exported some etc. but when I disconnected the memory card I realized I had the yellow triangle and I was not able to export the photos and had this message: Versions with unavailable original files cannot be exported.
When I re-connected the memory card the the yellow triangle disappeared and I was able to work with the images.
How can I get rid of the triangle without having to connect the memory card?
"Locate referenced files" command didn't work.
Please speak slowly as I am not super technical! :-)

In the Import dialogue, you apparently have selected to store originals in their current location -- not a good plan when they are on a memory card.  Select where you want them in the future.
With this particular card mounted, you should be able to take the originals into the Aperture Library, and if desired, later move them to be referenced.

  • Versions with unavailable master files cannot be exported.

Anybody a good idea how to sorting this out?
All the files are in pictures folder, i see the preview in A3. but I have the red line across the symbol in R lower corner on all the pictures.
I have tried the 3 different steps to try fix A3.
The full error message i get if I try to export or do anything with my pictures.
"Versions with unavailable master files cannot be exported.
The selected master image is either offline or not found. Please reconnect it and try again."
I have recently exchanged HD and upgraded to Snow Leopard.
    HELP...

Hi,  I cannot export some of my photos either as i get a message saying they are offline & i must reconnect them.
So i have followed your instructions however the file status 'missing' option draws a blank.. if i change the rule to 'offline' i do seem to get all the files that I am currently unable to export.
then i do your last instruction:
Run "File→Locate Referenced File". Reconnect all.
I can now see the located files in the top window box but when i click 'done' it doesn't do anything & the options for reconnect all are blank.. see image..
Is there anything else i can do?

  • Versions with unavailable original images cannot be opened, saved or printed?

It all began when my computer crashed and I had to reset it. I can see all the pictures I had saved on Aperture which I had saved on my WD passport but they  can not be opened, saved or printed. My question is how can I open my picture with out the original image even though I can see it?
    Thank you

First, make sure you are not in Quick Preview mode.
Second, every time Aperture crashes, you should (imho) run "Repair Database".  I have _never_ heard of problems caused by running "Repair Database".
As with all digital data, you should never change anything without having at least one full, verified back-up.
Check the first, do the second anyway, and let us know where that leaves you.

  • Question. How do I update / modify my site? Do I work with the original file "modify"?

How do I update / modify my site? Do I work with the original file "modify"?

Not sure why modify is in quotes ... but yes you work with the original and then publish again or export the HTML again.

  • Create a Document with an original file stored on application server

    Hello,
I start with document managment system : i am able to create new document (CV01N) manually, add a local file and check-in this file.
Now we need to store file which are stored on the SAP Application Server.
Firstly, in the GUI of transaction CV01N, i don't know how to browse file on application server. All files i can't attach as original, are files i can access from my computer.
Is it possible to access also on application server files ?
Moreover, i have to define function module which have to
    - Create a document (DMS)
    - Attach an orginial file which is stored on application server
    - Check-in the file
This function module will be called from a web application
I define this kind of function and run it correctly with a local file (stored on my computer) : i call BAPI "BAPI_DOCUMENT_CREATE2" and "BAPI_DOCUMENT_CHECKIN2"
But i don't how to do with a file stored on application server. I see also note 504692 and try a program like ZZUZTEST_TEST_CHECKIN which use FM CVAPI_DOC_CHECKIN but it return an error Error uploading  E:\usr\sap\TD1\DVEBMGS00\data\FACTURE.txt" (this path and file exist on application server and is really the file i want to checkin)
Please could you confirm what i search, is possible or not.
If possible, could help me with some explanations and guidelines and perhaps a sample ?
    Thank you very much.

This is a bit tricky. I spent lots of hours about this .
You have to set PF_HOSTNAME with your name of your AS and gives the path to the file on the server.
    You wrote
    *PF_HOSTNAME = w_host
But beware: if you have more thän one AS you have to fix one AS for upload or you have to find the servers name of the file. A better way can be to share one folder by each AS.
You also have to decide between HTTP or FTP.
    You wrote:
      PF_FTP_DEST = 'SAPFTPA'

You must define only one ! Then you have to check your settings in SM59 about working right.
Pls rate, if this was helpful.

  • Status Change with Compulsory Original File Attachment

    Hi,
We have created a document with 3 statuses (Created, Acknowledged, Released).
DIR will be created with "Created" status.
When the status will change to u201CAcknowledgedu201D system should check whether the DIR has a original file checked in. i.e. Changing status should be have mandatory condition of original is attached.
Same for the transition from "Acknowledged" to "Released"
    How to do this?
    Thanks & Regards,
    Pavan

    Hi Pradeep,
    Does the status type help?
Also does the BAdi suggested can be used only for the single document type or will be across all the document types?

  • .mov vs .mp4- what to do with my original files?

I have a macbook air that im using Imovie 11.  After I import my gopro to Imovie, I'd like to get rid of the old .MP4 files, that imovie seems to convert into LARGER .mov files.  I don't know if I should keep my original footage from my gopro HD which are stored as .MP4 files. I'd prefer to throw them out, but don't know if I *should* keep them.
I am storing ALL files (both the original Gopro .MP4 files AND the converted imovie .mov files) on an external drive and I believe I'm doing things right in that department. I selected move, not copy, but the original .MP4 files are still there.
If I throw out my old .mp4 files will I be sorry?  I'm not doing anything terribly important with them, just family footage, but I'd hate to get rid of the files and be sorry I did.

Yeah, but unfortunately; I can't export the music from iTunes to a hard drive. That's the problem. I can only export to CD but then I'll have to use a million discs and I don't want to do that.

  • HLS streaming with .mov origin file.

I have a collection of .mov files (ISO Media, Apple QuickTime movie).
I need to stream them to a web application using RTMP for flash supporting devices and HLS for iOS devices using HTML5 video tag.
I have had no problems if I convert the files to MP4 and then use …/hls-vod/path-to-file.mp4.m3u8 but no luck with the QuickTime version.
I have tried renaming the .mov file to .f4v given that this link suggests that .mov and .f4v have the same support.
    My questions are:
Are .mov files only supported for RTMP streaming?
Do I need to transconde my files to MP4 (or any other format) to be able to stream videos to Apple devices?
If the answer to #2 is "yes", is there any free software to perform the transcoding for a CentOS EC2 based system automagically? My current option is a script that calls ffmpeg.
    Thanks for the support.

I'm having the opposite problem when I came across your thread. Follow the steps in the article below and see if any of the steps help:
    http://help.adobe.com/en_US/flashmediaserver/devguide/WS0432746db30523c21e63e3d12efac195bd -8000.html
    1. Have you configured the ports? Specifically:
Configure Apache to use port 80 and configure Flash Media Server not to use port 80
Configure Apache to use port 80.
Open rootinstall/Apache2.2/conf in a text editor.
Change the line Listen 8134 to Listen 80.
Restart Apache. See Start and stop the server.
Configure Flash Media Server not to use port 80.
Open rootinstall/conf/fms.ini in a text editor.
Remove 80 from the ADAPTOR.HOSTPORT parameter so the parameter looks like the following:ADAPTOR.HOSTPORT = :1935
Restart Flash Media Server. See Start and stop the server.
    2. Have you verified that HLS streaming is working? Go to the videoplayer.html (in the samples folder) and try playing some HLS files or try opening the m3u8 set manifest file from localhost on an iPad.
I would also try to get a single stream working first before you attempt to get the multi-bitrate live streaming working: http://help.adobe.com/en_US/flashmediaserver/devguide/WSd391de4d9c7bd609-52e437a812a3725df a0-8000.html

  • How to Locate Original Files in Aperture Once Version Deleted from Library

I have a very large aperture library (250GB). For a long time, I have maintained my library by deleting only the "versions" of photos that I do not like (File-Delete Version), not realizing that the originals were still there. I would like to also delete the originals (master), since they are large RAW files taking up a lot of space. But with the versions now gone from my library, I do not know how to locate the original files to delete. Is there any way for me to do this?
I feel like there should be a way to find out if there are any original files not associated with a corresponding version in the library, to allow you to recover accidently deleted files.  That would be a start, but I can't find a way to do it. Thanks.

Also, I visited the Apple store recently and was told that deleting the version does not delete the master, and they even showed me on their computers where files deleted from the library were stored (they did this by "File-Open Library in iPhoto," highlighting all the images, and then "File-Reveal in Finder-Original File."
For a managed library: "Delete version" will only delete the selected version, if there is more than one version of the the same image. But if you only have one version left, delete version will delete the original file as well. An original is of no use, if you do not have a version to reference it.  The " File-Delete Original Image and All Versions" option is there to be able to delete all versions at once, together with the original file.
For a referenced library you will be prompted, if you want to delete the referenced original, if you are deleting the last version.
Just try it for a managed library. Import an image and use "Delete version" for the last version.  The version will be moved to Aperture's Trash. And if you empty the trash, you will find the original version in the Trash in your Dock. And it cannot be put back from the Trash.
You will be prompted, if you really want to delete the file, when you empty Aperture's Trash.
The App Store genius must have shown you a referenced library, when the original was not removed after deleting the version, or they did not delete the last version, if it was a managed library.

  • XML file reverts to original file after save - Why?

    Hi guys,
I'm working with a little bit of XML and have questions, first here are my steps:
    1) Load XML
    2) Append to XML
    3) Save XML using PHP
    pretty simple, right?
Well, why when I load the same XML file does it read the file without the appendend nodes I just added?
I can open the XML file in Dreamweaver and see the appended nodes, but once I load the XML back into the .SWF, it clears the appended nodes and only reads the original nodes again..... simplified version like this:
    Original file:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <people>
         <person>
              <name>Steve</name>
         </person>
    </people>
    Saved file, readable in Dreamweaver:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?><people>     <person>          <name>Steve</name>     </person>     <person>          <name>Mary</name>     </person></people>
When .swf file is closed and reOpened to save another person it opens:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?><people>     <person>          <name>Steve</name>     </person></people>
My .swf is local at this point and PHP and XML files are on a server running PHP5.
Apparently the PHP script is correct because it DOES save the file correctly. I can save as many <persons /> as I want. But when I close the Flash .swf the URLLoader reads the original XML data again. Not sure how that's possible?
When I change the location of the XML to load into the URLLoader it changes so I know it's reading the same file I saved to.... I'm so confused.
Hope this is enough detail for someone to help me,
    Thanks,
    Sky

  • Save For Web - saves original file name not new name

Hello, when I use Save for Web with slice(s) the original file name (appended with the slice number) gets saved even though I have changed the file name in the save dialog. This only happens about 50% of the time. Sometimes it saves as expected - with the new file name. I am using the default settings in the save dialog all the time.
Stranger is that if I am saving (for Web) say 10 slices some will be named with the original file name and some will be saved with the name I gave it in the save dialog.
This was happening on my Windows XP sp2 system when I was saving to an Ubuntu server (local network). So when I switched to a new computer running windows 7 and saving to a new server (windows 7 pro) I thought it might fix the problem - but it has not. So there must be a setting I am missing - though that does not account for the intermittency of the problem. I have changed settings under "custom" in the save dialog and things do change except the original file name is persistent not the new name I have given it.
The PSD files come from a designer using a Mac.
    My system:
    PS 10.01
    Windows 7
    AMD x2 duo 250
    4 gig Ram
Thank you for any help you may provide
    jim

I made an action to save large batches to a designated "pics" folder. Then when I'm done with a big batch, I just move them to the original folder and let the OS overwrite them. May seem like a lot of work, but I can do a batch of 500 gallery thumbnails in about four minutes and it takes about 30 seconds to move them and replace the originals.

  • Disk Image/Original File (iDVD 5)

I just finished saving a iDVD Project as a Disk Image. I know you can move the disk image file to another computer for burning. Also you can create multiple copies of a DVD from a disk image.
This leads up to my question(s)...
When you have created a disk image, What should you do with the original file if you have really no use for it?
Do I need to keep the original file for some reason?
Should I trashed the original file to save hard disk space?
    Thanks in Advance!
    Imac G5 Mac OS X (10.3.7)

Susan, just as a point of protocol, new questions ought to be posted as new topics. Anyway, that said...
Ths disc image is a file, like any other file. It's just big. So to get it to the other Mac, either use the network (I'm assuming the machines are networked!): Click the network icon in the finder sidebar, click the host name of the other Mac in the finder window, and go through the steps of connecting as a remote user. (Depending on how the network is structured you may have to poke through some folders to find the other machine.) Once you have the remote share mounted, it's just a drag and drop Finder copy.
Your alternative is to plug in an external firewire or USB disk, copy it there, carry it over to the other machine, and copy again.
On the other machine, you burn the disc image with either Disk Utility or Toast. Start up Disk Utility, and select File->Open Disc Image. Then select the disc image in Disk Utility's sidebar and click the burn button. A similar procedure applies with Toast - select the disc copy mode and then select the disc image option.

  • All excel attachment files in Outlook web app (email) are renamed "attachment.ashx", losing their original file names. Why? And how do I fix this?

While the email displays the attachment with the "original file name.xls", when I click and download, it is called "attachment.ashx", and I lose all the original downloaded file names. This started happening about 3 weeks ago after a Firefox update. Suggestions for a fix?

Outlook Web Access sends illegal Content-Disposition headers and this is no longer allowed in Firefox 8. The server needs to be fixed.

  • I am able to 'create a new version from original' but when I try to export the original, I only get a .jpg with the XMP file. The original is obviously there but why can't I access it please?

In Aperture 3 when I right click on an image I am able to 'create new version from original' which suggests that the original is there. When I try to export the original I only get a .jpg with the XMP file. These particular images are from 2010, has the RAW file become disconnected somehow? Please, how do I get access to the RAW file for editing in Ps? Thank you. Thomasrevil.

Sorry leonie, 'Use RAW as Original' is not an option for the image shot with the Canon.
Then your Import settings must have been different, when you imported the Canon photos.
You can check, if there is still a hidden raw file somewhere. If the image has been imported as a pair, you should see the "J" badge in Browser and Viewer, if you enable badge overlays. This indicates a pair, with the jpeg as original.
Select one of those images, and then relocate the original files "File > Relocate original" to a folder, where you can inspect it. Use "File > Show in Finder" after ward. Look, don't touch .
Then put it back, using "File > Consolidate".
Do you see your raw files in the folder, or is only a jpeg there?
