VERTICAL FORMAT VIDEOS...HOW TO?

I've got creat a new video for an upcoming trade show. The HD TVs will be hanging vertically and run from computers. I need to know how to format my video (whether it be FCP or Motion) to create this project. Is the foundation of the project FCP or Motion?
Here is a link to an existing video currently being used that I did not create.. It looks like it has elements of motion and FCP. If I have to create this format using both Apps, how do I go about doing that? If I know the client they are defin going to want some bling on it so more than likely I'll have to involve Motion.

If thats the best advice you can give, it the advice of a *****. I know how to use the software i have NEVER created one Vertically though...I'm pretty sure there has to be something in the software you've never done...right?....

The comment about the deadline is tounge in cheek...meaning ALL CLients want everything NOW...
do yourself a favor and if you are going to post something like that -I'd rather you not post anything at all.

I have got a variety of videoclips of various formats.
How do I manage PE11 to read them all and to create one 16:9 video?
Till now I have video's of the following formats:
(1) Video camera MPEG-2 MOD 720 X 576 16:9
(2) Apple iPhone 4 Quicktime AVC MOV 1280 X 720 16:9
(3) Sony DSC MJPEG AVI 640 X 480 4:3

Shortly I will get other formats as well.
I would like the output video to be something like 960 X 540 16:9
I have tried already a lot of possibilities, but none of them works 100% OK.
Each individual video works OK to get a 16:9 result.
As soon as I import a second video with a different format PE11 goes wrong.
For any of the five formats I have created 16:9 AVI's, by cropping away 1/8 of the height at the top and 1/8 at the bottom.
They work OK in PE11, but I want to use in PE the original videoclips and no homemade AVI's!

Although version 11 works pretty well with a variety of video formats, this is really a mess of a video mix, and there are no guarantees with the results. Especially because some of the video is high-rez and some of it is standard definition -- and some is even lower resolution. So know going into it that, at the very least, your 640x480 and especially your 480x352 video is going to look pretty bad when you blow it up to 960x540.
How do you plan to use your output video? Online? On YouTube? On a DVD or BluRay? on an iPad? There may be a more optimal output format.
There are also no guarantees with the MJPEG video you're using. Sometimes it works and produces mediocre results -- and sometimes it doesn't work at all.
That said, I'd open a new project and select the option on the New Project screen to force it to standard definition DV widescreen.
Then, before I put too much work into it, I'd add a sample of each movie source to your timeline and use Publish & Share/Computer/AVCHD with the YoutTube Widescreen SD preset to output the video to see if you're happy with the results. No point in putting days of work into this project if it's ultimately not going to work.

The camera connection kit can only be used to import photo/video files from a camera, SD card or USB flash drive. You can't import other types of files. You can't export any type of files using the camera connection kit.

How to handle vertical format - 720 x 1280

What is the best way to output to 720 x 1280 vertical format? I have a video I want to display in a right column of a web site but the question would be the same for producing product promos such as what you see at WalMart.
Premiere Pro CS5 (shooting with iPod touch or T2i sideways)

Sounds simple enough, of course. That works right up to the point where I need to export it, then no matter what I do, it comes out either in a very large vertical picture frame or nicely balanced in a landscape. At the exact point where I need to customize the dimensions, it won't cooperate. It either slams it back into landscape mode or shrinks the video inside a large black box.
I was thinking I might need to twist it sideways, send it out to a monitor that is twisted 90 degrees and then try to put it all back somewhere later on. Everything I try eventually goes the wrong way. I have 3 sequences so far and each one hits a problem at some point. More trial and error.
These poeple who do the in-store can do it so there has to be a way. I just haven't figured it out yet.

Use
Customer_ID||'Less than Symbol br Greater Than Symbol'||Customer_Name
in the Answers Formula column and change the data format to HTML. That will print the Customer ID and Customer Name one below the other.
HTML is not allowed in the forum. So, change the Less than and Greater than Symbols above to the actual symbols while entering the formula.

Formating videos for ipod- video but no sound!!!!!

ok i relize that a million questions have been asked about formating videos but i will make it million and one.
i have some vides that i made with windows movie maker and i also have some from DVD's. i read in another question to download video ipod converter, and i did i am just lil confuzed, i know my way around these programs so can some just tell me in lamins term like you are talking to an forgner tell me what steps i need to convert it and be able to have sound with movie. i have the 30g ipod english, itunes, ipod converter, i just need the help

OK as for your question, that is good. Itunes has the video and sound!
Here is how we fix this, (I hope, right? lol) do you have your Ipod set to Auto sync? You know it is on, when you cannot edit anything on your ipod, it just copies everything on Itunes!
Here is what you do if Auto-sync is on:
To turn auto sync off:
Attach Ipod.
Open Itunes
Click on you ipod icon (the little ipod picture under devices)
The third button down will say: “Manage all music and videos”
Click on the box and give it a, √
Now you HAVE to drag and drop things (music, video, etc.) in Itunes to your ipod. Itunes will not do it automatically anymore. But if your computer crashes, your Ipod will not delete all of its music if you attach it again (because there is no music on Itunes).
If you do not have sync on, write back and let me know. Auto sync is the main problem that cerate this.
As for your question about dragging files to Itunes, make sure they are MPEG-4 format (Quick-Time) or they will not drop into Itunes.

iTunes 11 has converted some songs to Quicktime movie format. How can I convert them back to MPEGs?

I didn't mess with the iTunes Media folder previously, so I don't think that was the cause. Anyway, I manually fixed most of the songs, but I still can't figure out how to fix the movies that became listed as songs.
Here is a screenshot of what it looks like when I click on "Get Info" for one of the movies (which has ended up in the music section on iTunes):
There is no option to change the media kind to "movie" or "video" even though it is a movie and it still plays as a movie if I press play.

If u want to print data in vertical format, just create one style , in that create paragraph format as left justfied 0 and right justified as windowlength-1.use this paragraph format for u r text.
OR
Have to create command within a window (window would be containingtexts which you want to print vertically).Within Command on General Attributes you will have to specify appropriateprint control one which is useful for your requirement.

Hello people! This is my first entry, but not the first time I check for your support. This is because I can't figure something out, so you might help me a little.
This is my problem: some creative son of his/her mother decided to propose vertical covers for the electronic books, my guees is because of the display on the virtual shelf. You following me? VERTICAL
BUT, this creative son of his/her mother, decided to propose only horizontal designs inside the books. Am I the only crazy person who see this (HORIZONTAL)??
iBooks Author solve this problem with a large .pdf ugly thing. I think is a gorgeous thing to be able to design in both formats (call that a smart book? I think it's BRILLIANT!). But to make coherent designs, means to keep BOTH proposals similars. You following me?
So, let's think a little about proposing a vertical format (let's say you already did the horizontal format, or you just don't want to do it): who decided to make an infinite .pdf from start to end, scrolling it down?? Why can't I do the "figer thing" to change the pages like the horizontal version?
I have loose a great deal of my time trying to design correctly a vertical format book. Why? Because it was published that way, it was conceived that way, and it amaze me how difficult all the apps makes my life because of a single thing: a stupid vertical format. And I don't want to publish a .pdf, don't want it to look as an ugly .pdf, don't want it to look like the exported file wants it because it was not designed that way! And I'm in a corner, thinking about my little possibilities left.
Do I have to design my book with a crooked head and tell the people they must block their iPads in order to read it right, and to "scrool" the pages "upside down" istead of "right to left"? How ridiculous is that?
Forget about the rest of the apps: even if they allow me to design a vertical format, when I publish the illustrated book, all the elements will move, no matter how many times I block them. I have done it right and I have done it wrong (like exporting a full size page, image and text included), and it still bothers me how stupid the apps can behave. They are like incompetent employees: totally freaks me out.
Do I really have to design a new app for a single illustrated vertical book with no interactions at all? It looks idiotic. But I might be the idiot here, though I don't think so (not this time)

Already done. But on the iPad I only have a large vertical book, can't "change pages with the figer", but scrooling up to reach the bottom.
What do you mean with "satisfy both"? Landscape and portrait? (sorry, I really must check everything because of the language). Why I would disable portrait when I want it to be in that format (and luckily ONLY in that format)?

Spry menu bar - vertical format instead of horizontal

When I inserted the Spry Menu Bar I selected a Horizontal format (instead of Vertical). However, the menu bar appears vertically in the document. I have inserted it on top of the banner (which was inserted as a background image within a table) and is definitely wide enough to accommodate a horizontal menu bar. I have deleted it and tried a couple of times but still the horizontal selection appears in a vertical format. Any ideas much appreciated.

Make sure that you have saved the Spry Assets that go along with the Menubar. I assume that you have, but this menubar is a simple list without its assets.
Also make sure that you have not inadvertently indicated the Vertical menubar. I assume that you have not.
When you delete and re-insert a Spry Widget, make sure that you do it by clicking anywhere in the Widget on the Document Window and then clicking on the blue widget tab. Then press delete, and all evidence of the Widget will go from your page. I find that manually editing does not always 'clean up' after disabling a Widget.
If you can post the page live somewhere, we can give you a better answer.
