Vertical pinstripes on HP f2105 monitor

Don't know if displayed pinstripes are from monitor or nvidia card. Strongly suspect monitor (possible ground trace missing).
Should I take to HP Service?

  • Why appeared vertical lines on my Imac monitor?

I bought an IMac sixteen months ago. The machine, wonderful! But since several months ago has been appearing several vertical lines all over the monitor. Those lines doesn't dissapear, on the contrary, they goes increasing in number (on september it started with 1 line today i have 5 lines!). For me as a Advertiser and designer, this is deadly because of i can't see my work perfectly because of these lines. Other three Imac i know of some friends has presented the same problem. ¿Is this an Imac general quality problem? ¿What can be done to solve this? ¿what has Apple to say about this? By the way, i guess that Apple site should have an email open support option, because despite these forums are useful to learn a lot about mac and many tips and tricks, i feel dissapointed because i couldn't find the right way to get a direct contact with Apple in order to obtain a satisfactory answer ot the manufacturer.

Sorry to hear your woes but joint the the ever increasing membership list.
Although Apple claim otherwise, its quite a wide spread problem and they don't want to know unless you have Applecare.
17" iMac and Macbook Pro's suffer the same problem and I have had experience with both. My 2006 iMac started to produce lines around 12 months ago and today (Dec 08) I have 70 of them.Usually another pops up every few days.
I love my iMac and am holding onto it until it becomes unbearable to use (not long now) because I only use it for surfing the net and mail as I have a Mac Pro for work stuff. But I have to admit its the ONLY computer I have EVER bought (PC or Mac) that's lasted just over 19 months before a major hardware failure started to develop. Considering the screen is the computer in the iMac its a terrible quality issue and I'll never buy one again.
I have read replacing the screen does not solve the issue long term as its a part within the iMac that causes the screen to fail. A new panel therefore could be an expensive fix and a new machine (with Applecare) may be a better solution.

  • Vertical Display on Ext. Monitor

I bought an HP w2207 monitor (which totally rocks the house, by the way), and it comes with the handy feature of rotating vertical for viewing webpages, editing photos, ect.
At the electronic's store, the monitor was connected to a Vista machine and when tilted vertical, the monitor recalibrated itself and displayed vertical automatically.
Does anyone know if this can be done with my Mac Book Pro. I'm connected using a DVI-I cable (I think it's "I")?
    MBP 15" 2x2   Mac OS X (10.4.9)

ATI video cards support rotation, so I hear. Needs the ATI displays program installed, no idea if that supports the current card, and I personally wouldn't risk it.

  • I am getting vertical color lines in my monitor

  • Two light blue vertical bands appearing on my monitor?

About a week or two a blue vertical band appeared in the center of my monitor.
This past week, a second band appeared on the right side - also blue.
Appreciate any information, help, can this be fixed.  I would like to keep
the computer as long as I can - still a great machine - just upgraded
    memory and OS.

    Hi:
Is the lines coming up when you connect the laptop to an external monitor?
What happens when you use the laptop - on AC adapter plugged in alone battery removed & in battery alone with AC power plugged off?
Did you get a hard reset and check again:
    http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01684768
Did you try changing the power source to another outlet and check again?
Yes you should definitely back up your data in to an external hard drive.
Create a set of Recovery USB and keep it safe:

" How long will it be fixed? ": depends on what the exact problem is.

  • HP f2105 monitor NVIDIA

HP f2105 wide flat panel monitor on NVIDIA GeForce 7500 LE
Volume Box on screen will not close. Cannot increase or decrease volume using keyboard. Front panel Menu buttons do not work either on monitor. Was able to increase volume before and hit Menu button to close (on front panel). That no longer works. Also none of the buttons on the front panel of the monitor work, including the power button. Power is always on on the monitor. Please help.

Hi JRitIf the buttons on the monitor do not physically work, the troubleshooting step is to unplug it and plug it back in. If the buttons are still not responsive you will need to contact support for more options.

  • Text/image dithering on HP f2105 monitor?

Help! I connected an HP f2105 21" widescreen lcd monitor to my G4 and noticed that text and images don't appear smooth—they contain jagged edges, much like low-res graphics dithering. I'm in graphics as a profession so this is unacceptable. Any ideas to correct this? I have colors set to 'millions' and resolution at 1680x1050. The monitor's 'scaling' is set to 1-to-1. My graphics card is an ATI Radeon 9000 Pro with DVI connection.
I may exchange this monitor for a Dell 2007wfp, but wonder if I'm going to have the same problem? Is it a dot pitch issue? The HP f2105 has a .278 pitch, while Apple Cinema displays (and Dells?) are about .25.
Thank you in advance for any help!

Thank you for responding. I tried the font-smoothing settings with no visible differences, which convinced me that it's most likely a screen-specific/dot pitch-related issue. I may also be accustomed to the 23" Apple Cinema display from work …

  • Vertical pinstripe yellow lines and coloured shapes

    Can anyone help,
i have a powerpc Macmini "2004-2005" running Tiger.  I am getting intermittent vertical yellow pinstripe lines on my display (HannsG).  It appears to be OK or better when the device goes into screen saver!  I also get coloured triangle and rectangle which are yellow shadows, when highlighting a folder on the desktop it turns striped blue.  It started 2 days ago, fired up the next day OK then back to stripes today. Any ideas please?

If you prefer not to take it in, it's possible you could arrange a mail-in repair. I'm not sure if they do that for Mac Minis. It would definitely be out of warranty at this point.

Cords are all attached in correct places but still have this problem.  Any ideas

  • HP f2105 Monitor Problem

The message "OSD LOCK OUT" pops up on the monitor every 2 or 3 seconds and stays for 2 or three seconds. The Monitor MENU will also pop up from time to time and I can not make any changes to the settings.  No matter what I am doing (Internet, gaming, working) these things pop up. Anybody know of any solutions?

You need to unplug the monitor then hold down the monitor's power button for 30-60 seconds to do a monitor reset.  It's not a cure all problems.

  • HP F2105 Monitor Electronic Hum in Speakers

This monitor works well, but the built-in speakers have started to have a noticeable hum whenever the computer and monitor are on.  This never was a problem in the past.  It does not do this when in sleep mode.  I've tried adjusting the green-to-green cable, and it does nothing to solve the problem.  Any suggestions?

That is strange. Have you tried connecting a different audio cable or perhaps connecting the monitor to another PC?
Sounds kind of like static build up.

  • Flip Vertically - Field Monitor and captures in CS5

    Hi,
I am using a Redrock micro M2 lens adapter on my Canon XH A1 (without the expensive flip accessory), and so the picture is inverted.  I noticed that in OnLocation CS3, there is an option to flip the image vertically in the field monitor to correct this.  However, I have OL CS5.5 and this feature doesn't seem to be there, or at least I can't find it.  Anyone know how to flip the image vertically in the OL field monitor?  Further to this, will the actual captured files be made flipped as well, or would it just be in the monitor?  Appreciate any help.
    Thanks,
    Dan

  • Thin vertical white lines across screen

I've got what looks like white vertical pinstripes (alternating 1 and then 2 together) across my screen.  What does this indicate?  The stripes are white, and do not show up on a white background.

  • F2105

I have an f2105 monitor.  The power light is on, the drivers are up to date, and the VGA cord has been tested.  The monitor comes on and the blue light stays on however, i only get a display for about 1 second and then the screen goes black yet the power light stays on.   Any suggestions?

  • Waves and color grains on LCD monitor

I have a Compaq SR 1931 IL(Windows 7 OS) model desktop pc. It has a 3gb RAM and 64MB Video card(inbuilt). No dedicated graphics card installed. After I installed my LCD monitor(DELL) I have these color horizontal grains, and horizontal waves moving vertically. I changed my monitor, but the result was the same.
I connected my monitor to another desktop(it has dedicated graphics card),  there was no grains or waves.
tried my own VGA cable with the other desktop, still no problem.
what can be the issue here, mostly people say its the VGA cable's fault. Should i try another cable with my compaq desktop? It was originally commissioned with CRT monitor.

From your description it would lead me towards either replacing the motherboard or adding a  PCI Express x16 basic  video card (without the requirement of a six-pin PCIe power connector).
I suggest a basic card because it is very unlikely that your PC came with more than a 300 Watt PSU. Considering the date your PC was introduced to the market, it is also unlikely that the PSU was delivered with a six-pin PCI-Express power connector.
    Best regards,
    erico
