Vertical rolling lines with DSLR and projector

I used a DSLR (EOS 60D) as a B camera for wide shot on a shoot in a dark lecture room the other day.  Vertical rolling lines were evident across the whole frame.  Whilst similar to scan lines on a CRT the lines were not restricted to the projection display.  I assume this is related to the shutter speed, but whatever speed was selected I could not get rid of the artefact.
Are there any post production solutions for this?  Forunately I used another camera ( a proper video camera ) for the A roll and had much more control over the shutter speed.  The B-roll is not crucial but would be useful.
TIA

Thanks for all the responses.
There was daylight from the right side of the room but the lights were down.
I think that as suggested the problem was a mismatch between the projector and camera.  Unfortunately whatever shutter speed I used on the DSLR the problem was evident (another "I don't believe it!" moment) .  I wonder if the projector was a DLP unit and the problem was the combination of wheel rotation on the projector and shutter speed on the camera. I could adjust the camcorder's shutter speed far more precisely than the DSLR's, so I am glad not to have had to rely on the DSLR as the only camera.
I was hoping that there might be a way to fix short sequences as cutaways, but maybe not.

  • Windows 7 on Bootcamp I am locked into a DOS screen and it is not installing.  I have been on line with Apple and microsoft and they can't help.  I have lated versions of Lion and bootcamp. HELP

I ran bootcamp and tried to install Windows 7.  I end up with a DOS screen and an unresponsive keyboard.
I have been on line with Apple and microsoft and they can't help.  I have lated versions of Lion and bootcamp. HELP!
My Lion is up to date.
I used the 64-bit windows disc.
    Should I try parallels?

Do you have a DOS screen with a command prompt or just a blank screen?
Is your Windows 7 x64 an original MS Full Version Installation DVD?
Did Windows 7 Install Disc start?
If it did you would have had to choose the location of where to install Windows 7.
Did you select the Partition named BOOTCAMP that corresponded to the Partition Size you created in BootCamp?
Were you asked to format the Partition?
Did you format the partition to NTFS and then get an option to click NEXT and actually start the Windows 7 installation?
Do you have a wired USB keyboard and wired USB mouse?
If you actual went through the installation and restarted then here are some things to try:
First try doing a CONTROL-ALT-DELETE and see if a Windows Option Screen appears.
If you get the Screen you will have some options displayed.
You want to highlight and click TASK MANAGER which should be the bottom choice I beleive.
If Task Manager runs you will get a window showing all the processes running.
See if you can find EXPLORER.
If EXPLORER is running highlight it and go to the bottom right and click the END TASK button.
Now go to the Top Left Menu Bar.
    Click FILE
In the sub menu that opens select RUN  or RUN NEW TASK (Not sure which it is in Windoes 7 as I am running Windows 8)
Once RUN is selected a new window will open to CREATE NEW TASK
Type in EXPLORER and then the OK button.
If Windows 7 installed properly the Desktop should appear after a bit of time.
Your first concern is to get your keyboard running so you may have to remove and reinstall Windows using Boot Camp on the Mac Side.
Let us know how it goes..

I was more interested in writing a script in PowerShell to automatically deny Itanium server updates.
Would you happen to know a good article on this?
I believe this topic has been discussed in this forum, so I'd start by searching the forum.
Beyond that, your best friend in PowerShell script efforts is going to be CodePlex. There may be one posted there, already written.
As a technical reference, you'll need to be familiar with the WSUS API, and the
Software Development Kit is available on MSDN.
You can definitely do this with PowerShell. (I actually do it with a feature of SolarWinds Patch Manager which does it via an API call.)

What causes vertical color lines on an IPad. And how do you remove them ?

Try this  - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
If still present: Take it to an Apple Store for evaluation.

Don't believe it's a factor, but you should update your iOS.
If you have an iPad 1, the max iOS is 5.1.1. For newer iPads, the current iOS is 6.1.3. The Settings>General>Software Update only appears if you have iOS 5.0 or higher currently installed.

If you are currently running an iOS lower than 5.0, connect the iPad to the computer, open iTunes. Then select the iPad under the Devices heading on the left, click on the Summary tab and then click on Check for Update.
Tip - If connected to your computer, you may need to disable your firewall and anitvirus software temporarily.  Then download and install the iOS update. Be sure and backup your iPad before the iOS update. After you update an iPad (except iPad 1) to iOS 6.x, the next update can be installed via wifi (i.e., not connected to your computer).
Tip 2 - If you're updating via wifi, place your iPad close to your router to preclude getting a corrupted download.

  • How can i copy line with text and image to ms word

When I insert an image in textflow using InlineGraphicElement it works, but when I copy the line with the image to MS Word it copies only the text (not the image).
How can i copy the image to MS Word?

If you want copy formatted text and image to MS Word, you need to give MS Word rtf markup, because Word can recognize rtf markup but not TLF markup.
So you need to create a custom clipboard to paste a rtf markup. It's a large feature for you, because you need a tlf-rtf converter in your custom clipboard.
    TLF Custom Clipboard Example:
    package

  • Permanent vertical blue line the screen and a red one has just popped up too. What does it mean and how can I get rid of them?

I have had a permanent vertical blue line on the right side of my imac screen for some time now.  It does not affect the use of the computer.  A red one has popped up on the right side of the screen and is not going away either.
Would you know why these are appearing and perhaps how to get rid of them please?
    Thank you in advance

Best guess is that either your GPU or LCD is failing. You should take it to the nearest Apple Store or AASP for proper diagnostic. Once you know what the problem is you can decide wether or not it's worth repairing.

  • Vertical black line om camera and photos

I have a vertical black line in my camera on my new iPhone 6. This black line also appers on photos I take. Something to do, or is it a pixel error?

the line is only visible on camera not on video. if it is the lens i think it would be visible both on picturs and videos.

  • 3D effect with overlapping line with fill and stroke?

How can I draw a continuous stroked line with a fill, so that it overlaps and covers the previously drawn part of the line? I'm trying to draw some text so that it has an effect like in fig. 2 of the attached picture, not fig. 1. Is it possible to make somehow? For a simple image like this I could of course manually remove the few lines, but for a more complex text it's not possible, and I can't seem to find a solution myself. Anyone?

    You're welcome.
You could do it with basic shapes as another alternative:
Maybe that will help your efforts as well.

  • Pink & red vertical & horizontal lines with mini box?

I moved an object I was creating to the artboard.  In doing so, it reveals pink & red vertical lines around all the elements within the object.  Each line section has a mini pink or red box with a number at the top corner and what looks like a histogram? Included is a snapshot of what it looks like.  What is this information and how do I remove it?

    These are slices.
Go to Object > Slice in order to remove them.

  • Vertical black line with shade dots down left side of page - NEW Cartridge

I installed a NEW cartridge and was able to print about 30 pages before the paper began having a 1/16" black stripe with shade(?) dots down the left side.  Could someone please advise.
    Thank you,
    Erin

    Thanks.
I am very new to Pages. Yesterday I decided to go after a "Brochure" template, as it already had at least one vertical line separating text passages on the left and right. But there were too many sections, so I went about deleting all the extraneous, unwanted lines. And also the unwanted horizontal lines. To do this, you have to click the line itself to discover where the "nodes" are. But the nodes are locked, so you have to go to the top control bar of the desktop. (I think that this is the option titled "arrange").
It appears that the secret to tinkering with the lines in the templates, is by unlocking the nodes to the lines, dragging them around, and then locking them in place again, saving them between major changes. In any case, none of this is going to be intuitive to users who come to the Mac from a text based 'DOS' universe. (I have absolutely no experience with Microsoft products, and would be lost if somebody asked me to do this from Windows.)
Now, I think I am going in the right direction, and I appreciate your help, but I'm still having a little difficulty switching back and forth from editing templates, and typing text in. What are the sequences of keypresses for going back and forth from editing the templates, and typing the text in?

  • First wedding with DSLR and Lightroom

I'm about to do my first wedding for a co-worker, and I really, really, *really* don't want it to be a disaster.
I'm sure plenty of folks here have some pointers for me. Any good books to recommend. I'm going to troll Google for tips on wedding photography.
Of course, Lightroom will be the main tool I'll be using. I plan on going all out and setting up a nice library and tweaking the UI for the client. I'll make a plan on visiting the wedding site beforehand to see what my lenses do in the room, and how much flash I have to use.
I'm already making a list of some new stuff I need before the day. My local photobug store is going to love my spending habits over the next few weeks.
I have to make sure I'm clear on copyright and such, as well. I understand copyright goes to me, but I'm going to hand over all the (good) raw files to the client along with a selection of print-ready images. I don't much care how they use the photos, as long as I'm credited where credit is due. I'm wondering how /I/ can use the photos in the future. Can I publish them myself as part of a portfolio or in a magazine or online? If so, what are the legalities and "best-practices" for not pissing off clients in the future? These are precious, private moments for people, and it seems wrong for me to use them for my own profit, but if I get some really nice shots I'm going to want to share them!
That last is something I'm unclear on, actually. Using Lightroom for getting photos ready for print, but not via the Print module. I, and the client, will probably be using a print service. Tips on getting decent prints from a service with minimal fuss appreciated.

    Hi John,
Congratulation on getting your first wedding. Wedding photography is a serious business, since it is one of the most important days in the couples life, and no - ups I need a second shoot - is possible. Shooting your first wedding for someone you know is a good idea, and I will recommend you tell the co-worker who have hired you, that it is your first wedding, so they know. Don't expect to get everything right the first time, but with good preperration the chance of being lucky is much higher.
I personally ALWAYS visit the places I need to photograph before hand. I gives you comfort on the actual day, and you have time to check out where to stand and different lighting. Try to visit at the same time of day, as the actual shooting is set for. This way you will have a pretty good idea of what lenses to use, flash and so forth.
In regards to equipment, remember that it is you the photographer who is taking the pictures and not the camera. Just because you have a good word processor doesn't make you a great writer, so remember to practice again and again instead of think, that with that lens I could get the shot. Sure good equipment makes it easier. But a pro can take better pictures with an Elan than an first timer with an 1D mark III. Knowing your equipment is essential in a high pressure situation like a wedding.
The copyright laws are different from country to country, so I guess someone local can answer that better than me, since I am European based.
I personally use LR for all my weddings, and it is a really wonderfull program. Personally I would never hand over RAW files to a client. If it eventually came down to a court room, and you should prove you were the initially guy who took the photograps, what better proof could you have than you having the RAW file, and the other guy just having a JPEG or TIFF.
Personally I would just hand him JPEGs in a medium resolution or what you agree upon, if you have promissed to deliver digital files, but that changes alot from photographer to photographer. If I were you I would spend the time on getting to know my equipment instead of the copyright laws before my first wedding. :-)
Hope this helped, I wish you a happy first wedding.
    Kind regards
    Klaus Bjarner

  • [SOLVED]Asus UX32VD, problems with ACPI and Intel video driver

    1. The bigger problem seems to be Intel video driver:
When xf86-video-intel is installed, screen stays black after booting. By adding "nomodeset" to grub doesn't help. If I don't start gdm while booting, I can boot to command line with "nomodeset".  From command line I tried "startx", but X doesn't start, probably because "nomodeset" has disabled KMS and I've understood that Intel driver needs KMS for GNOME.
When xf86-video-vesa is installed instead of intel driver, screen is still black. By adding "nomodeset" to grub, I can see only mouse at gdm. If rebooting computer without gdm, I can start gnome from command line with startx and it works nice.
In both setups I can connect to laptop with ssh when screen is black. With ssh I checked screen brightness, but it was maximum.
    Intel driver version: xf86-video-intel 2.20.1-3
    2. The problem with ACPI is found from dmesg, I don't think this effects to graphics problem, because with vesa driver and "acpi=off" set to grub I can start Gnome with startx. I don't even know if it effects at all on my system, dmesg shows error which effects to displayport( intel_dp_i2c_aux_ch error) these maybe related to each others:

Sometimes with Intel driver I can see mouse while loading gdm, but then it goes to black.
I tried to boot with Intel driver with "drm.debug=14" and "log_buf_len=16M"  as boot parameters. There is debug log from gdm, it seems to have some errors, I have not yet looked deeble on it:

  • Line with 0 quantity for main item with batch split

    Hello experts,
I have one line item in delivery. Delivery split is there: There are 1 spilt items with 1 batch nos. The main item category and the batch split item category are TAN.
My system is showing 2 line items in billing, the batch line with quantity and the main line with zero qty. How to prevent this and have only the lines item in invoice with batch/qty. I don´t want to see the main item with o quantity.
In VTFL I have routine for copying requirements 004 and Billing Quantity B. I need to create another copying routine or I need to use another item category for batch lines?
    Thanks in advance
    Pablo

    Hi Pablo,
It is advisable to have a different item category for Batch split items.
If you want the batch split items to suppress and show only the Total in the Invoice. Yes it is possible.
    1) You can do this in the Copy controls in VTFL - Delivery to Billing, go to your Item category and go to Item details - Change the billing Qty to 'G'.
    2) Go to Shipping > Deliveries > Item categories Determination in Deliveries > Define item category.
Go to your item category which is used in Batch Split
Remove the Billing Revelance and make it blank and Save.
Now when you create the Invoice for Batch split - Only the total quantity will be displayed without the subitems - like in Delivery note or Delivery..
Please check and revert back for any more details
    Rgds
    Sunil.
