Vertical Streaks

I have a 30 inch Cinema Display that only displays vertical streaks when I turn the computer on. *Is there a quick fix?!?*
I have used multiple 150 watt power supplies with the monitor. The problem remains with each one.

Ensure the printer is directly connected to a wall socket, not through any power strips, extensions or surge protectors.
Next, ensure you have the latest firmware installed:

Blue vertical streak on papers hp color laserjet cm1015 mfp

Recently my printer has printed 2 blue vertical streaks on documents I print. I checked the supply levels and there is still about 45% of the ink left for all the toner colors. I tried using the cleaning mode, but it didn't help the problem. If somebody could help me with my problem it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

30 Inch Cinema Display with Vertical Streaks

Hi All,
I've started to notice very pale vertical streaks on my screen. So far, they seem to be along the edges and are particularly visible when blues and other dark colors are displayed.
It's not a big deal, but the monitor was about $2,000 and is only about 2 years old.
What is this? Is it "normal"?
I have Apple Care... thinking it might be time to use it!

Robert, My 30 Apple monitor started with blueish-green vertical lines outlining the texture of my desktop. It is present on photo's, web-pages and even video I may review. Vertical streaks on 2009 20in iMac screen

These vertical streaks have been developing over the past few months. Is there a way to fix this without having a new display fitted? Screenshot attached.

Hello, I see no streaks in the screenshot here, but that is taken at the Video card, not the actual screen.
You can test it youself...
Take a screen shot & view that in Preview, move the Preview window around, if you see double lines it's a Video card/VRAM problem, if the lines do not move moving the pic around then it's the LCD or cable.

Vertical streaks on Lumia 820 display

I see very distinguishable vertical banding and streaks on my Lumia 820. I first noticed them on dark grey backgrounds but now also on e.g. Nokia TV menus. Is this normal?

no this is not normal at all. have you tried performing a soft reset (pressing the volume down and power buttons together until the phone vibrates)? Failing that, it sounds more like a case of hardware failure so you will need to take your phone back to your point of purchase...if they are being less than helpful, then you will need to take your phone to your local Nokia Care for inspection: http://nokia.com/support

Vertical streaks in pictures

I bought an HP Photosmart plus B209a about a month ago and when I hooked it up (wireless) it printed a test picture and it was AMAZING. I went to print some pictures tonight and they have streaks in them. I went and bought new paper and cartridges (both HP brand) and they are still there. I dont know what to do it is soo irratating. Has anyone had this problem and what can I do to fix it? Thanks!

The findings from your email shows that the issue is not caused by the cartridge or the printer. Since the streaks are appearing only while printing photos, I recommend that you use HP Advanced Photo paper.
Next, under the Printer properties, ensure that the 'paper type' or 'print quality' setting is not set to 'Automatic'. Select the correct paper type and also select print quality as 'Best'.
You can also try to print from a different application to see if there is an improvement.

HELP! - HP LJ 1020 printout vertical streaks

Recently has this problem on my printout of HP LaserJet 1020 on whatever I print.
A 1cm thick vertical black band appears on the printout about 8cm from the right paper edge. I am using original HP toner.
What is the solution?

IMac 8.1 dual core intel 21.5" 2007/8 has vertical streaks on display screen, what is the cause

my display has verticle streaks tat seem to be on everything, they are not differently colored than the background, just spaced about every 2.5-3 inches with a light dark light band space of about 2 inches and then again, repeated across the screen. It shows up on everything, but is more visible on some content than others. is it a video card going or what?

Thanks a lot! If i am going to spend a lot to get it fixed, i think I will wait a while and maybe get a new Imac or maybe a mini mac. with a separate monitor. I do love my imac, and before we got our macs we had many problems with viruses, crashed hard drives & various other problems. With the Imac, even though my husbands and mine are supposed to be the same they have suttle differences. but I have had a problem with the computer I have on warrenty it needed something replaced, Then this last fall we had 3 power outages in a row. They are on surge protectors, but even so, they shut themselves off, or the power did like a cold boot. after the power came back on, I turned it on, and then shortly thereafter the power went off again. Thensame scenario. and one more power failure. i think it was not the surge as I don;t think there would or could have been one, but because it was basically a cold boot 3 times in a row and the computer did not shut down properly, it crashed and would not come on. My husband, worked on it for a week and finally got a blue screen, and was able to get it going enough to format the hard drive. and re install everything. But a lit of files would not reinstall. I had a small 1 terrabyte backup and it was plugged in and programmed to cycle every day at certain times. Well to make a long story short, it did not like the cold boot any more than the computer. we ere able to save about 1/2 of my files. part of which was my photos. I had had 23,000 photos, and now i had 87,000, unorganized photos with many duplicates. it is a slow proceedure, but I have got that # down to 60,000 so far. I am missing my best folder I had with some genealogy info & other stuff in it. Was my personal folder. It would not load into the re done computer. but I still have the hard drive in case things change. Why do i get vertical streaks on the page when i print with my laserjet 1536?

i have hp paper, replaced the cartridge, replaced the printer, cleaned the paper path, and still have the problem

the glass strip on the left of the glass might need cleaning.

Screen Issue -- black streaks... almost as if the screen is only half off

My phone occasionally has black, vertical streaks on it. It almost looks like the screen doesn't fully shut off. When the phone is off, normally, the screen will be grayish in color. When the phone is on the screen background will be black. When my phone is put on standby the screen will look like a combination of both, at times. Does anyone else have problems like this? Is it normal? I can't reproduce it when I want to. It's just a random thing that happens every now and then. I've only had my phone for about 5 days now.

This happens to me quite frequently as well. At least once a day.
After the phone has gone into stand-by mode, the screen will sometimes turn back on.
I tried to photograph this, but it is very, very difficult, as it is as you said, just black streaks with no back lighting.
I bet many people have it without noticing it, because you have to look carefully to see it.
I also bet it drains batteries.

Scanning Vertical Lines Showing

3. Vertical lines appearing on scanned documents/images. Scanning at max dpi.
4. No changes made.
Next step is to send the item to local HP support. Still in warranty coverage.

Hello,
Vertical streaks are often caused by dust particles on the scanner bed. Recommend to clean the scan glass and try again.
You can try scanning at normal resolution to make the proces faster and check the quality.

Black streak in full screen apps

It seems that all apps I use that run in full-screen mode (examples: Burning Monkey Puzzle Lab, Second Life, and other games) have a black vertical streak that extends from the top of the screen to the bottom of the screen about a third of the way from the left side. Everything else runs normally and I don't see the streak unless an application goes into full screen mode.
Has anyone else had this problem or know how to fix it?

Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Restore from backup. See:

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem. If it is the same place in portait and landscape that points to a screen problem

Streaks in files when Aperture(1.01) opens image in CS2

If it's not one thing.... ugh
D2X NEF --> Aperture --> HUD adjustments --> open in external editor(CS2) I see streaks in the image now, almost like cloned vertical streaks from other parts of the image...

Ahh geez, more shadows to chase.
I just spent an hour trying to reproduce the streaks.... nothing.
I did have one adjustment version of the file and two PSD versions of the file in a stack when I was happening..
I was able to recreate the streaks, deleted all of the versions and recreated the versions etc.... the opened the orig in CS2 and poof no streaks....
sigh
If Steve does not have an update for Aperture I am going back to bridge for six months.

Streaks on color prints

This is my second printer (same model). I retired the old one due to same issue. My full page color prins have vertical streaks down the page. I have ran SEVERAL cleaning pages through and used the built in cleaning functions on the printer. The issue is not resolving. This is costing me a small fortune to solve. Any advice or part I can replace??
