Vertical track size

Hola,
I have a strange problem that only happened on one song.  I clicked on "show automation" and, as it should, the vertical track size expanded showing the automation stuff.  When I clicked again to hide the automation stuff, the track size remained the same (expanded size) and it doesn't go back to the normal size.  It is obviously some kind of bug, any idea on how i can fix this as it's kind of annoying to work on a song with this view.
I thought about starting a new projects and importing the single tracks as you can do on other programs but I don't think it is possible on GB.  Anyone have a solution?

I had the issue too. FIrst I thought it was a hidden feature but I couldn't find anything todo  that on purpose, so it might be a bug.
Hope that helps

  • 'Track Size' in Behaviors Tab

    Hey guys,
I just installed FCS2, and I've been reading up on some of the tracking procedures. In the behaviors tab after adding 'Analyze Motion' to my source footage, I don't have the 'Track Size' parameter. In video tutorials, I've found it directly above the Search Size parameter, which I have. But directly above it is the Position parameter. Does anyone know how I can fix this? Thanks.

Is your install up to date? (3.02)

  • ITunes 11 - where is "Track Size" displayed?

iTunes used to have a column that showed the size of each file.  Very helpful for my purposes.  However I can't find that column in iTunes '11.  There was also a column that showed what the file type was (AAC, AIFF, etc.) which was also handy.  How do you find this info in the iTunes interface now?

Click on Songs (located next to Albums, Artists, Genres...) while you browse your iTunes music library, the right click on title bar (where column headers are displayed) and chose from the menu that appears the information you want to see (i.e. Size if you wish to see the file size and Kind if you need to see the file type)

  • Tracking size of object in JVM

    Hi
How do i find out which objects are taking memory in JVM.

Get a heap dump in HPROF binary format using jmap or the new HotSpotDiagnostic MBean through JConsole if your Java application is running on JDK 6 and then analyze it with the jhat tool in JDK 6 or the new HeapWalker in NetBeans 6. NetBeans 6 can also be used to get a heap dump.

  • Possible To View Two Edit Windows Simultaneously?

Is there a way to either view 2 files simultaneously (as in the MS "compare side-by-side," etc.) in edit view? Or at the least, quickly toggle between the windows when two files are open? I need to bounce back and forth between 2 or more files a lot, but each time I'm having to go to the Window" drop-down menu, and click on the window I want to see. That's slowing down my workflow.
I did a search of the Help and Knowledgebase but didn't find anything.
    Thanks.
    Ken

For viewing two audio files 'side by side', it's better to align them horizontally, isn't it? The Multitrack view (MV) is ideal for this. You can expand the the vertical track size so that you see only two waveforms, having a good view at each. You only need to engage the Mute or Solo buttons for each track to switch between them. If you set any markers (F8) it will actually appear in either view, should you opt to open a wave in Edit View (one at a time).
What is "editing" anyway? Does it always mean altering the content of the wave (only possible in EV), or does drawing volume curves and moving things around in MV account as editing too?
You can alter the volume of a section in EV destructively and compare the result with the original perhaps, aligned in MV.
You can also draw different volume curves on two instances of the same wave in MV, and then compare the
audible result. Note that you can actually slice, delete and move sections of your wave around in MV as well. This way you can have several working copies of your edit (indeed?) easily available for comparison.

  • Tracks changed in size & I don't know why?

    Hi folks,
I was working on a track and making splits and somehow made a command key selection or something and it changed the track size.  The only way I can explain it is the track started about 6 inches long and is now a third of that.  It plays correctly although the head moves a lot slower, but how do I get it back to where it was before I did whatever it is I did?
I'm especially interested to know so if it ever happens again I'll know why and how fix it.
    Thanks you,
    Harry
PS.  If you can tell me where this information is shown in Help I would appreciate it.

  • Ctrl+alt, right click brush size

ctrl+alt right click horizontal and vertical brush size
Using both Photoshop cs 6 and cc on Mac.
The alt + ctrl + right click whilst dragging both vertical and horizontal to change the size and hardness of brush no longer functions.
In CC when I alt + ctrl + right click the entire document frame moves.
I have tried resetting my preferences to no avail and I am now desperate for a solution to this problem so I can restore photoshop to it's original state.

  • Linking a video to motion tracking

So I have hours and hours of lectures that I would like to get to this:
    www.youtube.com/watch?v=_fHBn7KlhKE
Most of the time when the speaker is showing slides, I would like himr to be on one side with the slides next to him.
The issue is that my full shot camera is static and thus the speaker is moving in the frame.
This test video I did by keyframing by hand his movements.
It works, but is very tedious and not very precise.
Also I cannot get it to move only in horizontal position, even with using an alteration key like shift or command.
Thus the vertical position needs to be adjusted also which slows it down even more.
Im also trying to solve this with Motion doing analyze motion, but I have a issue with that:
    - I get dropped frames because even the most static point, the microphone does not work as sometimes the speaker turns around, and I cant seem to make the track size big enough.
Help me community, you are my only hope =)

    Indigovira wrote:
Having around 20 hours of material, I cant be doing that.
    different, non-technical approach here:
Your example is - sorry to say that! - plain ugly:
    speaking of pic-composition, not content!!
a red car is never ugly... ok, with a white roof?... perhaps..-.
The speaker is squished in some tiny small border, the picture in global has no structure (Rule Of Nine etc etc), no 'weight', no 'focus'.
And. a black dress in front of a black bg: the term 'Talking Head' very, very literal.
btw:What's that in front of him? A fruit basket of stones???
I would prefer the 'traditional' layout, like that:
here, the spaker has 'room to breath' (and walk, and gesture, and live).
or, consider vice-versa: full screen slide, tiny insert of stage-action
    Plus:
Why should be the speaker be shown at all, when something else is the visual subject??
Instead of of tracking 20h (!!) of material in hope to get some result, I would use goo' ol' Cut-Aways

  • Expand timeline vertically

I found (and promply lost) a toggle switch in Premiere Elements 9 which wonderfully expanded my timeline in the vertical dimension. As I was editing a soundtrack at the time this was paricularly useful. I just can't find it again. I am not talking about the little arrows to the left of the soundtrack which double the size of the audio soundtrack. This was something which made it much bigger. I've looked everywhere but can't find the switch or icon again. As fas as I can see the manual doesn't mention it either (the manual never mentions anything I need). Any suggestions?
    best
    Paul

Just as JM points out, in the Track's Header, if you hover the mouse above the upper boundry of that Track Header, the Cursor will change to an equal sign w/ up/down arrowheads, and if you click+drag there, you can expand, or contract the Track. The secret is watching the Cursor, to know when you are over the "hot-spot." It is a bit of a "pixel-hunt" the first few times you do it, but soon it will become second nature, and you will just naturally hit that spot.
When I first picked up PrE (had used PrPro for years), one of my first questions here was "where is the vertical Track expander in PrE?" It was slightly different in location, between the two programs - similar, but I just could not find that hot-spot. Well, the helpful people here, told me to just be patient, and hover the Cursor, as it WAS there, and they were correct. It just took me a bit to find it.
    Good luck,

  • Need help setting the exact size of my JSlider

Hello everyone. I'm trying to build a small program to help people learn a about RGB colour values, and at the same time teach myself a bit more about Java. Things have been going fine so far until I came to setting my JSlider's size. The intention is to have three JSliders with a JPanel next to each. The I need the track of the slider to be exactly 256 pixels tall (one pixel per gradient value painted into the adjacent JPanel) plus whatever extra padding and spacing the Look And Feel dictates.
I've got the height set to 256 pixels in the following code, but it makes the JSlider as a whole 256 pixels tall and so squishes the track. I've set the minor tick spacing to 2 so that if the track was actually 256 pixels tall, the ticks would alternate over each screen pixel. If you compile and run the code, you will notice that a few ticks appear next to each other without a one-pixel gap between them. I've also verified it by taking a screen capture, pasting it into the GIMP and then using the measure tool to check the size.
I've tried searching through the API documentation to find ways of doing it, or to see if some ideas I've had so far were possible, but so far, I've not found anything particulairly satisfactory. I even tried to see if I could set the JSlider size to current JSlider size minus the track size, plus 256, but I couldn't find a way of getting the current size of the track.
Can anyone help me out here? I'm rather stuck.

  • Where is tracking

I'm new to InDesign and I can't find horizontal tracking. Vertical tracking is there in my general toolbar underneath font size, but there's no horizontal tracking button. Can anyone tell me where it would be and why it's not there? I tried to upload a photo into this message, but it wouldn't let me click on 'Insert Image'.
I'm using Mac OSX and InDesign CS4.

Thanks Ashutosh, but I've already seen that document and it just explains how to use tracking, rather than where the buttons are. The upload function is working now - this is what is on my tool bar:
There is no tracking field to the right of the font size and leading. The next buttons are for underlining text etc. Is there an option in one of the menus I can check to make tracking appear?
Edit: I want to alter the tracking manually, if that makes a difference.

  • [Pre Ele 9] Audio tracks in project are frozen. Unable to move, edit, or even select.

    Hello,
This is my first project using Premiere. Great program, when you know what you're doing. Right now, I'm on a modest laptop, Vista 32-bit, 2 gigs of RAM, Dual CPU @ 2.00 ghz. My project consists of .wma files, some .mp3's, .wav's, and some .jpgs. It's a small project, only ten minutes, about 20 clips, some 20 cuts.
I don't know exactly what happened. I was trying to move all my audio files I had to close this gap I made. But I think I clicked group, or link or something by mistake, and now, two of my audio tracks are literally unresponsive. They play perfectly for the preview, but I can't move them. I can't even select them. Right clicking the sound track does nothing. Even weirder is that my Audio 1 track is normal. It's just my narration and soundtrack tracks that are causing problems. I've researched online, and I heard about them being "locked" or "disabled", or something with Keyframes. But I don't think that's it. Or maybe I need more of a noob's guide. I turned on track size and saw the waveform for my audio. It's there, but it's dimmer than my Audio 1 waveform. Also, I tried Render and Replace, but that didn't work. Lastly, whenever I try adding a new audio file in any of the two audio  tracks, the program basically ignores it and places it in Audio 1 or  even creates a new audio track.
I know I did something so simple, I know I just need to uncheck this tiny little option. Maybe some of you are even chuckling. But please, help me. End this torment.
If you need more information, let me know.
    Thank you for your consideration.

I agree with Neale on this one. The Narration and Soundtrack are "fixed" Audio Tracks, and have at least one property, that other Audio Tracks do not have - they cannot be Deleted. Usually, they work just fine, as their names indicate, but then sometimes, they just refuse to work properly. Why? I have never seen a common element, when they just sort of freeze up, or refuse to mix-down their Clips.
Because this behavior has struck several, most of us just recommend NOT using either, and instead, just using an empty regular Audio Track. I cannot recall an instance, when that proceeure did not work. This behavior has been around since about PrE4.0, by my readings, but may have happened to even earlier versions. There is just something in the structure of those two Audio Tracks, that gets "out of alignment," either with certain operations, or perhaps certain Assets.
On the note of "certain Assets," do you happen to have any MP3's on either of those Tracks? They can cause no end to problems, and not just on those two fixed Audio Tracks. If you do have MP3's, take a look at this ARTICLE.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • Maximum file size of 2 GB exceeded please choose a shorter bounce time

I have done a thorough search online (w/google) trying several combinations of words but I seem to be the only person on the planet with this error. I guess I will try to remake the project but I don't think it will fix the problem. I also will update my OS to 10.4.10, anyways here is the the error message.
"Maximum file size of 2 GB exceeded please choose a shorter bounce time"
I just bought and installed iLife 08 and the 8.1 update for Garageband. I have a 3 hr and 50 track on the time line and I have added chapter marks with 16k pics. The original combined track size (wav files) did exceed 2GB but I edited the files in itunes (to mono wav files) and swapped in the new files so that the max file size should only be 1.5GB. I still get the error message above when I try to export the podcast to disk using AAC w/Mono Podcast setting. Your help is appreciated.
    Message was edited by: Thad

I am now the third person in the world to get this error message, except my GB project is a mere 1 hour and 45 minutes long. I've outputted longer projects before and never got this error before. It's a new one to me, and frustrating. How exactly am I supposed to choose a "shorter bounce time" if there is no explanation anywhere in Appleworld of what a bounce time is or how to set it shorter?
Again, I'm not doing anything different with this project than others that shared successfully, and the dialog box estimates my outputted file size to be approx. 100 MB.
Can anybody help me get through this error blockage? Please?

  • Zen V Plus - track seek times completely screwed

When seeking within an audiobook track, the time index on screen will advance to whatever I command it, but the actual audio WILL NOT advance-- when I let go the joystick to resume playing, the audio picks up from right where I initially pressed the joystick!
This bug has manifested itself in the bookmark function too. It allows me to set a bookmark, but when I select the bookmark, it resumes playing from somewhere totally different than where I set the bookmark.
This is an mp3 format file, windows explorer reports it as 28Kbps file. If it is a standard bitrate and not variable, why should I be having this problem? Any ideas how I can fix this?
    thanks

I'll try to answer your questions:-. Using XP (home edition) SP 22. Using ZenV Plus, 2 gb2.a? Have used Creative Media, Windows Media Player, but prefer Overdri've Media Console (simpler, faster, great)3. Have never tried to load books from another computer.4. Do not purchase or rent books. I get them all from library.4.a. I have used Net Library but get most of them through SEO Library Consortium. That's where I downloaded the Overdri've Media Console software from.5. They are regular "audio" books, recorded on tracks. I have gotten some with as many as 3 tracks. I think the track sizes generally must correlate to the size/capacity of a CD.6. I believe they have all been wma format and they are "licensed" to you for a specific period, just like when you check them out from any library. I had the same problem with keeping up with the story line at first until I figured out the navigation and particularly the "seek" and "bookmark" functions.
Time bar:? The time shown on the left is the time that has elapsed in that particular track, and the time shown on the right is the time that is left on that track. Seek:? When you access the "seek" function, you then have to hold the joystick button to the left (back) or right (forward) position until you get to your desired?time mark on the bar. When you start it goes slow and the longer you hold it in that position, the faster it moves. As soon as you let go of it, it stops moving and if that is where you want to start listening, you push "in" on the button to start the play from that point. You cannot seek either backward or forward into another track. You can only seek within that specific track. Bookmark:? When you are at a point where you want to set a bookmark, it is best to pause the playback and then set your bookmark. When you select the bookmark function you will get a screen where you can set multiple bookmarks and you would use the navigation button to select the bookmark position you want to use. Then you would push the navigation button in to set the bookmark in that position. When you want to go back to that place in your book, you go to Music Library>bookmarks and select which bookmark position you want to go to. TRICKY PART:? Normally, you would see the Track # in the upper LH of the display, but if you are playing from a bookmarked position, the player will display the Bookmark Position # instead. The?name of the book will scroll across the display and show the actual track number, but depending on how long the name of the book is, your display may black out before?it gets to the track #. The time line at the bottom of the display will show your?position in the actual track?where the bookmark was placed. The playback will continue until the time line reaches the end of that track and will then stop. To?continue the book from that point, you have to go back to the track listing and start the playback on the next track. Navigation General:?If you push the?joystick button to the left or right?and hold it, while in any track or bookmark, it will almost do the same thing as seek, except that as soon as you let go of it, it will start playback whereas with the seek function, it will just stop and you have to push in on the button to start the playback. Also, just like the seek function, it will only go back to the beginning or forward to the end of that particular track. If you quickly flick the joystick button to the right or left, instead of holding it, it will advance to the next track, wither back or forward.
    Hope this helps some!

  • New user:  I can't find the zoom option (to try and sync audio tracks/sources wav to a clap)

Hi guys.  I LOVE the rendering speed/quality etc of single videos but I'm running into trouble syncing videos/audio from 3 sources.  Basically I have a Nikon D7000 and an Iphone taking two angles of me playing guitar.  I want to sync all of them to an audio clap or a click but I can't seem to find the zoom option where I can get right in on the wav files to match the peaks of the clap.  I am also having trouble with the video clips I am dragging seem to lock magnetically to other clips or wherever my playback marker is.  I want the clips to drag/move freely (and tiny increments) and not lock into any time interval etc.
I also would like to find the mute button for some of the tracks.  It seems to be really basic stuff, but I can't seem to locate anything obvious to zoom, drag and get my timeline in sync.
It took me a long time to sync my audio to an iphone angle for this clip:

My D7000 is a MUCH better image, but juggling that, my iphone angle and the audio that gets recorded by my DAW is a struggle.  Any tips would be appreciated!

Thanks for the reply with details of your Premiere Elements version and computer operating system.
    1. Zooming in on clap in wave form of audio - assorted maneuvers
You could always change the audio track size, but that is not going to give you anywhere near the detail that you will get by
alt clicking the audio portion of the Timeline file (to temporarily unlink audio from the video and then double clicking that Timeline
audio file to bring up its waveform in the Preview Window and noting the clap time at playback there.
With the video and audio relink again, as you can hold down the alt key and tap the left or right arrow key, you can move the Timeline linked clip from right to left or left to right
for alignment purposes to the clap time.
When you need only the video portion of the video audio linked file in the Preview Windows, then you omit the alt click on the audio portion.
If needed, you could always set unnumbered markers at the Timeline level or in the Preview Windows.
For Timeline video audio nudges....as you hold down the alt key and tap the right or left arrow key once, you get a one frame nudge per tap.
As you hold down the Shift+Alt and tap the right or left arrow key once, you get a five frames nudge per tap.
    On other matters...
    2. Please look at right clicking the Timeline and looking a Snap option enabled and disabled.
    3. I will think about it some more but I do not see any way to mute the audio for a whole audio track. You can mute the audio for clips on that audio track but not
shut off the audio to that one particular audio track. If you wanted to do audio clip muting for more than 1 clip at a time, I could see
    a. copy first file that you muted through Adjust Tab/Adjustments/Volume Panel expanded and
    b. then do a Paste Effects and Adjustments for a selection of all of the other audio files on that particular track.
    Just some thoughts
