Verve 450 Answer Machine Stuck on Answer Only.

Hello,
The problem I have is that even though the answer machine has been set to Answer and Record, when you ring you only get  "Hello, your call cannot be taken at the moment and you cannot leave a message, so please call later", and you can't leave a message.
It used to work fine, but has just started to happen.
The phone has been switched on and off, the answering settings switched on an off....any ideas anyone?
Thanks

Hi Lisab,
If you answer mcahine message capacity is full then any answer machine will revert to the Announce only mode. You need to delete some messages from the Verve 450.

  • Bt Verve 450 Trouble with Answer machine

    Hi,
I got a problem with my bt verve 450, i can make and receive calls ok,but when i turn on the answer machine,i cant record a outgoing message,it just comes up with not possibe on the handset, and when i have the answer machine turned on and i receive a call, the base station comes up with P2,any help would be very appreciated
    With kind thanks
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I was unable to set my outgoing message. The handset would show empty battery and then switch off for about 10 seconds! This occurred on all handsets, with full, new battery and even if plugged into a charger!
I reset the base - no change (see above for instructions)
I reset the handset - success!
    Handset reset
This resets your BT Verve 450 handset - Addresses are retained
    1. Press Menu, scroll to Settings and press OK.
    2. Scroll to H/set settings. Press OK.
    3. Scroll to Handset reset. Press OK.
    4. At "Reset to default" Select yes.
    5. If you select "Yes", the handset displays "Please wait" followed by a tick, it then exits the menu mode. If you press
No, it returns to the previous menu level

  • Resetting Wrong Answers only in a Drag and Drop Interaction

    Hello All,
What I would like to see in the interaction is  -
Learner drags items to a specific location
    clicks submit to check answers
only the wrong answers reset to the original screen location
    feedback displays
Learner trys again and repeats until all items are in the correct location.
Is this scenario possible with the drag and drop?  I can get everything but the "only the wrong answers reset" to work.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you in advance
    Kelli

Not possible. Same as for normal question slides: Reset will reset everything. You can have the wrong answers getting back immediately, but it will not wait for Submit in that case.

  • Make Survey answerable only once.

    Hi,
I want my survey to be answerable only once. For that I applied note: 0001086930. When the note was applied, it was working fine. Now, we did an EHP4 upgradation. Now, when we try to apply the note, it says, it is already applied. That seems fine.
But, the issue right now is: Even if I don't do anything on the survey and just closes the window, and later if i open the survey, it is not allowing me to make any changes to the survey and a message is displayed saying, +the survey is locked+. The survey goes to display mode and so we can't use the survey anymore.
What could be the reason for this? Please do help.
    Regards,
    Jubish

    Hi,
Wrote one enhancement for that and solved the issue.

  • BT Verve 450 keeps cutting out

    Hi
I have a BT verve 450 duo and whenever I pick up the phone from the base unit when someone is calling the phone goes dead. However, if the same phone or the second phone is on the other charger phone there is no problem. I am sure there is a problem with the base unit. Any ideas?
    Kind regards

Its odd that both handsets reset, but it could be a bad batch of batteries.
I assume that when you received the phones, the plastic tap that isolates the battery supply was still in place?
Did you remove the tab on both handsets?
Have you checked that the batteries are makeing contact inside? Take them out and then put them back in again.

  • BT verve 450 base settings help

    Hope some on can help??
Recently bought  the Verve 450 every thing works fine accept the base unit/answer machine. I have caller display so everything works from the point of view. What I cant seem to do is change the time and date on the answering machine, but the hand set is showing the correct time
I have tried re registering the phone etc but nothing seems to work.
    Pleas help......

    Hi Chockie,
the answer machine should be set automatically if you have the caller display (as your handsets are showing corrcet time it is likely the phone has a problem, or has got out of synch with the handset).
Try setting the time manually -
press menu and scroll 'Redial' to 'settings' and press OK.
Scroll 'calls' top 'clock/time/alarm' then ptress ok,
    date/time is highlighted, press ok.
the default time is in 24hr clock, to change scrol with the 'phonebook' or 'sms' button to choose 12 hour clock.
similar thing for the date formatt either  day/month or month/day using the 'phonebook' or 'sms' button.
use 'calls' to scroll to to 'enter time' and input the time, same again for the date. then press ok to save (on page 10 of the user manual).
If this doesnt work, try disconnecting the unit from the power and line for 10-15 minutes to reset.
If this last tatic doesnt solve the problem, then the phone is faulty and if under warranty take it back to wherever you bought it from.
    Hope that helps.

  • BT Verve 450 - Loses year setting on power-off

Ah,  now found out how to start a topic!
Verve 450 quad set.   Every time we have a power cut, the date partially resets.  Time OK, Month OK, but year resets to 2007.   I find out when the answering machine says message received eg: Saturday instead of of Friday.  Correct the year, stores OK, then resets to 2007 on the next power cut.   Is there a firmware fix?

    Hi Clive,
Many (many) years ago, part of my job entailed dealing with BT Shop queries and (if I remember correctly) when it came to replacing faulty equipment and working out if the product was still in warrantee we usually went by the date the issue was reported to us.
In this case, as the warrantee date has passed chances we wouldn’t have been able to offer a free replacement as it’s out of warrantee (even if the issue occurred before it expired).
Things might have changed since then though and it’s still worth contacting them about it, but I can’t make any promises I’m afraid.
Let us know how it goes.

  • BT Verve 450 twin won't ring out ! HELP PLEASE

we have just been on holiday for a week, phone was working fine when we left however on our return the phones will not ring out when a caller ring us ! all that happens is the screen flashes up and says silence on the bottom of screen then goes back to standby screen, the caller thinks its ringing out when it isn't. can anyone tell me how to solve this issue ?
i have re set handsets and base to default and tried everything i can think of , its driving us nuts !!

If you search the community for Verve 450, you will find many problems and solutions.
A display of "silent" would suggest volume turned down to low, or ringer muted.
I assume that you have powered the base station down for a while, then powered it up again. This will reset any locked up hardware.

  • BT Verve 450 Plus is out of stock! Ordering a phon...

The BT Verve 450 Plus is out of stock with the BT staff having no idea when it will be back in stock! THIS ITEM IS STILL BEING SOLD ONLINE BUT YOU WILL NOT GET IT!
I ordered this phone 3 weeks ago with the track your order saying it would be delivered 2 days after the order. It did not come so I left it the standard couple of weeks. Just phoned them and it is out of stock. Was told to go to my nearest BT Shop to see if they had any in stock, the 'BT Shop' would sell it to me at the same price as online and then get a refund from the online team.
This seemed reasonble so I hung up, googled nearest BT Shop and then realised, that BT do not have any real life Shops! I had been fobbed off by the friendly team in India. Phoned them back and was told I could only cancel the order and get a different phone. Even though the Verve 450 plus is still the 'Star Buy' online!!!
I asked them to just order me the Hudson 1500 plus instead as it is the same price but they cannot do this.  No offer of free delivery or any compensation for the lies I had been told and the pain of waitin gweeks for a phone that is never going to come. Or fraudulently selling a phone online they know they do not have!!!
    BEWARE.

The BT shop is ran by Dabs.com which was bought by BT years ago but ran as a separate company and the BT shop is just a reskinned version of Dabs and the only reason why I use the BT shop they have cheaper p&p than dabs do, which is stupid.
Both Dabs and BT are showing stock of 14 yet you say that they claim it is out of stick, sounds like they are having a right problem with stock control or the call centre is trying to fob you off.
I would write to Dabs.com and ask why you were told to go to a BT shop when they don't exist any more and while is their stock control is so out of whack.
Even if you get fobbed off handling a complaint letter costs these companies money and the more that people do it the more likely they will change something.
As a consolaton Amazon has it cheaper than Dabs, with free delivey and Amazon stock control is bang on.

  • BT Verve 450 - setting up 2nd base set

I am trying to setup a 2nd base set - I've tried the manual p63 to p66 - it talks about selecting a base set so you can register an extra handset but cannot find instructions to set up 2nd base set in first place.
When 2nd base set is set up, what happens with incoming calls - how do you transfer to handset registered to other base set?
Also I believe you can have hand sets registered to 2 base sets - how does this work?
    Please help.

I just did a google search and it refers back to BT forums, including my post of December 2012
"using bt verve 450 phones with multiple base sets
     on ‎13-12-2012 0h09
We wish to have more than 5 handsets & understand that can have multiple base sets from 450 download booklet but no instructions/info how the expanded system will work -
how should multiple base sets be setup? I presume each base set would have to be connected separately to incoming line?
Would one act like an "exchange" for incoming calls? If so how would you redirect them to a hand set only registered to another base set? (BT booklet states cannot transfer calls between handsets registered to different base sets!??)
If passed a call to a dual registered handset could call then be forwarded to another handset only registered to that 2nd base set? So - what function would 2nd base set have?
Would out going calls be affected if from handset only registered to 2nd base set?
Will all phones on all base sets ring when external call rec'd?
Please note this is a purely domestic setup - just wish to stop having to run about the house etc when calls rec'd for members of the family.
    Please help, thanks, gxsangha"
Does anybody use BTVerve 450s in an office situation where you may have had this requirement - I cannot be only person to want to use multiple base sets & dual registered handsets???

  • Changing Handset number on BT Verve 450

Bought the BT Verve 450 Trio a while ago, and something that's annoyed me for a while is I can't change the handset numbers. They are saved as 2, 4 & 5 (I only have 3 handsets - there is no 1 & 3). Tried everything I can think of, deregisted every handset on the phones, reset both the phones and base but when I re-register them they still come up as the same handset numbers. Is there anyway I can change it so they are 1, 2 & 3?
Thanks in advance for your reply.

  • How do you add a new machine as an agent only to be seen by the server....?

I'm fairly new to this but I'm starting to get the hang of it. I configured what I call a sysadmin server to serve as a SunMC-4.0, Console, Agent & Server. I can connect to the server and I see all the Modules and what's
    running to I'm good there.
Where I am having a problem is that I setup on a second Solaris 10 box as just an agent box, configured it and started it sucessfully. Pointed it at the 1st machine (the server) and all seems well.
My problem is when I start the console on the server (machine #1) it still only sees itself not the second machine. I have looked through all the doc's that I have and there is nothing really on setting this up? A lot on jumpstart etc.
but I just want to setup about 10 machine as agents (only) and use the one server machine to see them all. If someone could point me in the right direction I would much appreciate it.
    Thanks,
    Tom

setting this up? New Agents don't automatically populate themselves into the Console, you need to either tell SunMC about them (i.e. specify their hostname/IP) or have it scan a range of IPs to find it for you. For just a few systems you can probably just enter them as you go: [Edit --> Create Object|http://docs.sun.com/app/docs/doc/819-5417/6n7gj8249?l=en&a=view]
For larger installs many people also script the creation of icons using the SunMC CLI to make their life easier. If you're interested send me an email and I can point you to a sample script.
Congrats on starting to use SunMC, it's a fantastic tool!

You need to get rid of MacKeeper (Zeobit).  Do not use their uninstaller, follow the instructions here ...
    http://applehelpwriter.com/2011/09/21/how-to-uninstall-mackeeper-malware/
When that is done there does not appear to be a lot wrong if you correct the red ink entries.
The 4Gb is sufficient for Yosemite though 6 or 8 Gb would be better.  You may find the download slow so be prepared.

  • Time machine backup seems to only have a Sparsebundle folder

I have had my MacBook for a couple of years and have only just got round to backing it up. I set off Time Machine lat night for a 200Gb backup. This morning I checked it and the Time machine backup seems to only have a Sparsebundle folder of 1000s of small files but apparently no iTunes or photos??
    Any ideas????

    Thanks Mike,
I'm a bit new to Macs really and thought that once backed up, on my NAS system I would be able to view the photos etc. but I presume this isn't the case and I should not back up the photos as part of the Time Machine backup and back these up seperately in order to view them remotely etc?
Thanks in advance for any advice.

  • ITunes stuck in activation only mode

I have been unable to fix this with copious google searches. Computer is running Windows XP Pro SP3.
We are using the appropriate switches to launch iTunes in activation only mode and also to take it back out of activation only mode. I have tried creating separate shortcuts and I have tried doing it from a command prompt window.
iTunes is stuck in activation only mode and won't come out of it. If I log in to the computer with a different user account I am able to launch in normal mode. This problem seems profile related but I have searched the registry and been unable to find a key for iTunes that would obviously be causing this problem. The app has been reinstalled - made no difference.
What is the problem here? I would prefer to not delete the profile that iTunes is "stuck" in if possible. Thanks

Logged this as a SR on Metalink and the problem seems to be down to use of colons in my connection names.
I was using a naming convention of
host:SID     for accounts connecting as system and
host:SID:schema     for accounts connecting as specific schema
Which nicely groups and orders my connections by host. Sadly this prevents edit of stored pl/sql units (package, procedures, functions)
