Very annoying Genius sync or BUG
Hi, i originally posted this thread a month ago on the itunes forums, but since nobody even answered i'm copying the same here, hopefully someone will at least give me a clue.
This bug or issue is incredibely annoying considering that i NEVER even use or have used Genius.

Since i subscribed to iTunes Match, everytime i sync my iPad with itunes it "syncs data with Genius". This takes 20-30 minutes everytime. The worst thing is i DON'T EVER use Genius. Every single time i sync my ipad it syncs half of the songs i have on my ipad with genius (around 3000 songs). Before activating itunes match each sync used to take around 5 minutes, including the backup.
PLEASE someone tell me how do i disable this incredibely annoying issue ?? I just want to go back to the normal syncs i had before itunes match, i don't see the point in what's hapening right now...

I got rid of it by turning off Genius.
Unfortunately, I love using Genius, and hate losing all my Genius info, especially since it always comes back incomplete when I first turn Genius back on.
There has got to be a better fix for this.

As i said, i've never used Genius, and it's been always turned off.
I use iTunes match, but every single time i open itunes or sync my ipad with itunes it says "sync with genius" , EVEN IF I HAVEN?T ADDED A SINGLE NEW SONG in my itunes library.
Why does itunes need to "sync with genius" or itunes match, every time, if there's not a tiny change in the library ?
The problem hasn't been fixed with the latest update.
To sum up: it takes me 5 times more to sync my ipad with itunes since i ise itunes match. -
Since the latest auto update of my firefox browser I am experiencing strange issues. Every evening when I stop working, I close my browser (closing all the tabs that I am working on and in the morning, I restore the session) . For many years everything worked just fine ... untill after the last auto update of the firefox browser .. all of a sudden a got 302 errors ( a blank page with the description 302 and I believe "page moved here" or something to that extend ... i try to click the link and get nowhere.
I first noticed it on a few wordpress pages (backend ) that I was working on and which were restored from the previous day ...
thinking it was a server error, since we have several vps and dedicated servers .. i contacted the company who hosts our servers ..
they looked into it and apparently .. there were no issues on the server side and neither on that particular computer ... but our server hosts told us .. that it is probably browser related and seemed to have something to with a bug with the cache of the browser
we didn't know what to do .. it was very annoying .. but at that point it only happened once on a hew pages .. so we decided to see what happened the next time
Next time we did not restore a session with wordpress pages .. but with the google search engine open and on a few other tabs logged into social media .... and as was saidn by our server hosts it was indeed not related to work that we did on pages on our servers ... since that time even the google search engine homepage ... showed us ... moved here
Can you pease look into it and fix this .. we are doing the same thing as many years on the same computer also a few years .. so it is not anything we do wrong either .. it is most definitely browser related
so can you please fix it asap .. since when we work on wordpress .. that is not the only thing that goes wrong .. we also have difficulty uploading updates ... when updating sometimes after the update of any particular change on a wordpress page is done ... we are also redirected to a blank page .. so the updated page does not want to load ... in that case we have use our back button ...
which sends us back to the right page ... but with the old data on it ... then we have to refresh that page .. and only then we see the page updated ... so it seems that there is an issue in both direction with the caching of the browser after the last update

Robertuninstalled firefox ....deleted all files still remaining under mozilla firefox directory in program files ... to avoid having to reprogram all my settings, reisntall all addons as well .. I did not remove anything from mozilla firefox that is stored in either appdata or under the windows users directory (if any)
... the as suggested reinstalled the latest version of the firefox browser using the link you provided in the email ..; tested and several issues still remain present and unresolved ....
so please this is urgent or I will have to jump browsers and start using chrome .. because we work 14 hours a day 6 (sometimes 7) days a week, to get ready for the launch of our newest venture and we cannot lose that much days on browser related issues ... so please instead of putting me through week long step process .. of do this .. do that .. can you please actually look into the issue from your end .. I use firefox for so many, many years thta I deserve this kind of support .. thnx Robert -
My iPhone 5s (16GB) is stuck with 3948 photos (shown on the iTunes storage bar) on and I can not find a way to delete them all! It's very annoying as it takes up 6.54 GB of space and leaves me no room to add films, music...etc on to it. Please help me!!! I have already tried the numerous articles Apple have sent my way and I am still having no luck.I'd be eternally grateful if anyone could find a solution for me as this has been a problem for almost a year. If they were put there via iTunes sync process, then simply untick the Music box before syncing again.

I get a general failure when I click on links in my email. "General Failure" is followed by a link and I have to click ok to get rid of it. This happens every time I click on a link in my email. I've turned my computer on and off several times, but it persists. It's very annoying and I'm considering returning to Internet Explorer because of it.
This is a known bug, and has been for years. It occurs when Firefox is your default browser and some glitch (or program) changes that default. Thankfully, there's a fairly easy fix, though it does involve monkeying around in the Registry.
(Note: These instructions apply to Windows Vista and 7 only.)
1. Click Start, type regedit, and then press Enter.
2. Navigate to the following entry: HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\FirefoxURL\shell\open\ddeexec
3. In the center pane, double-click the Default entry, then remove whatever value is there (it'll probably be a weird string of numbers and commas).
4. Click OK, then exit Regedit.
5. If Outlook and/or Firefox are open, close them, then restart them.

I am using windows 7 pro this issue has drove me crazy for some time, now finally it's fixed by doing the exact same steps as above, hope this works for everybody that is having this problem. I just had to share this with my fellow firefox users. :) -
Photoshop CS5 Issue - Very Annoying
Hello all,
I'm having a very weird (and needless to say, very annoying) issue with my Photoshop CS5 Extended. Any knowledge or help would be highly appreciated. FYI - I'm photographer so my primary use is image editing.
Basically, every time I make a change to a layer (apply a filter or change blending modes), Photoshop does not reflect those changes unless I hit Ctrl+S to save or perform another action (such as selecting a different tool from the tool-set). For example, consider this scenario:
- I open a PSD file that only contains a background layer.
- I duplicate the background layer
- I change the blending mode to "Multiply"
- Nothing happens to the image (no visual changes even though the image should have gotten darker)
- Now if I hit Ctrl+S to save the document, the screen is refreshed and now I see the changes.
I have no idea what might be causing this. I have the latest 12.0.1 patch installed. I have gone through my preferences to see if something needs to be checked but to no avail.
Any help will be appreciated.
FYI - I'm running this on Windows 7 - 64-bit

-aliThat can be a good workaround, but be aware that some things won't work... For example, you won't be able to see a preview of your brush hardness using the Alt-right mouse button brush gestures. And of course zoom won't be smooth, and pans won't flip with inertia (big whoop). If you have Extended you may not find the 3D features as usable.
What I'd do if I were you is do some searches for people using your specific video card and see if any of them have found any older drivers that work better. Then bug nVidia to fix their drivers.
Alternatively, a really fine video card with huge speed and memory can be had nowadays for a hundred bucks.

With iTunes 11, genius syncing takes too long, how to fix?
Genius is now linked with Match and cannot be turned off separately. How can Genius syncing be sped up?

Annoying contacts sync problem
Hi everybody. I have one very annoying problem with my N97. I hope that somebody knows solution.
When I enter new contact, it often have more than one word in first name. But when I sync it with N97 it always separate those words as first name, middle name and second name.
Is there any way to prevent this. If I enter, for example, 'John Doe' in first name field, thats because I want it like that. If I want to enter first name and second name separated... well I will simply enter it in separate fields.

Ok, thanks that helps. I don't have an external hard drive though. What about backing up through 'the cloud'? I'm just wondering since my husband syncs his iPod to the PC through iTunes and he's worried that he will lose all the songs on his iPod if the library is lost from iTunes and he tries to 'sync' it up again. I'm not exactly sure how to 'copy the entire iTunes folder' either. I kinda suck at this unless I have step by step instructions, which I haven't found yet on iTunes help or other sources.
The only way I know how to back anything up is by going back to a restore point, etc. (as stated before, we don't have an external hard drive.)

How can I completely get my iPhone and iPad disconnected from iTunes Match? I don't usually have Cloud access and find iTunes Match to be very annoying.
Csoud1 is correct. But if you still want to keep your iTunes Match subscribed and did not want to sync with your iOS devices, do the following:
On you iOS devices, just go to Setting > Music > disable iTunes Match -
My I-phone 4 cuts out in my house and I need to go into my driveway to talk. This is very annoying! Any ideas?
what you can do is jailbreak it and then unlock
Phones unlocked by jailbreaking or other unauthorized methods will always re-lock to the original carrier when updated or restored. Sometime this will happen randomly when syncing. Only the carrier it's originally locked to can unlock it correctly and not all will do that. Also you'll have to return to the UK to complete the unlock.
Your best bet is to sell that iPhone and buy one in India or factory unlocked. -
I am very tired of iTunes sync'ing Genius to my iPhone and iPad. It takes way too long to do and has become a big annoyance. Anyone know how to kill this off?
Same here. I've read somewhere that you can't turn of genius sync when you have iTunes Match enabled.
If I really can't turn this of (it takes 25 min. every sync I do!!) I'll be forced to stop my iTunes Match subscription.
Please give us a way to turn this off. Some of us don't need this 'genius'.

I am very annoyed at the Creative Cloud set up and the non-stop issues and problems! I am paying monthly for this service and it is constantly failing in some way! So far in three months I have had to uninstall and re-install Photoshop THREE times because it stopped working properly and Illustrator I have had to do that same to TWICE! That isn't including the other apps that have had issues! I don't have the time to constantly be un-installing and re-installing all or some of the Creative Cloud because your developers are not making a product that works consistently for the money you are charging! It is costing me more than just this monthly fee! And I am even less impressed with the fact that I cannot email someone for assistance in resolving these issues. Really Adobe?

DVD drives read the bottom of the disk, not the top. Smooth out the paper & try again.

Regarding Mail: When I return to my computer after it has gone to sleep, my accounts go offline, and are always asking me for the password. THis is very annoying. How can I prevent this?
Back up all data.
Launch the Keychain Access application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Keychain Access in the icon grid.
Select the login keychain from the list on the left side of the Keychain Access window. If your default keychain has a different name, select that.
If the lock icon in the top left corner of the window shows that the keychain is locked, click to unlock it. You'll be prompted for the keychain password, which is the same as your login password, unless you've changed it.
Right-click or control-click the login entry in the list. From the menu that pops up, select Change Settings for Keychain "login". In the sheet that opens, uncheck both boxes, if not already unchecked.

If the box marked Keep login keychain unlocked is not checked, check it.
Select
Keychain Access ▹ Keychain First Aid
from the menu bar and repair the keychain. Quit Keychain Access.
