Very bizarre error!! Need help!
I just started getting this error:
Application Launch Failure
The application "word" could not be launched because of a shared library error: "2 <microsoft Word><CarbonLib><CFMPriv_CarbonSound>"
Any ideas?
I'm also getting the same error with several programs, they just stopped launching.

Create a new account, name it "test" and see how your apps work in that User acct? (That will tell if your problem is systemwide or limited to your User acct.) This account is just for test, do nothing further with it.
Open System Preferences >> Accounts >> "+" make it an admin account.
Let us know and we'll troubleshoot this further.I'm also getting the same error with several programs, they just stopped launching.Are they Office programs, Mac apps or other third party apps?

Why my java program work well under C:\, but can't under D:\Java today? It worked well even yesterday. I had tried the "Hello World", it can not work under D:\Java either.

I think you need to configure proxy for the JRE
If you are using windows Go to control panel , you will find an icon called java plugin. if you have installed multiple JRE you will find multiple icons . Select the one which is configured to browser.
You will find a proxies tab in that window , add the proxy details there

I need your help for smartforms. I created a smartforms in SD for getting quotations. My problem is that when I run da report it is not executing & if i run smartforms it is giving error in da functional module as - In program "/1BCDWB/SAPLSF00000003 ", the following syntax error occurred:
"The data object "I_HEADER" does not have a component called "BNAME"."

Very new user needs help setting up a three user network plus server

I'm an owner/manager of a recruitment company in the UK and we use three mac minis in our office to run our recruitment software (on a filemaker database) internet, mail and MS Office 2008.
We currently use one of the mini's as a 'server' in so much that it has a external HDD attached and shared across the network. We use Airport Extreme to share the internet.
Although to begin with this set up has served us well the amount of data travelling across the network and the prospect of a couple of new employees starting has made me think it's time to invest in a network and server of some description.
With my very limited knowledge i'm proposing the following but would greatly appreciate some assistance from the forum users!
Install OSX 10.5.3 Server on one of the Mac Minis
Get an ethernet switch and cable the three minis together
Use the external HDD as a time machine backup and store all files on the 'server' HDD
Continue to use the Airport Extreme to share the internet over airport.
I have a couple of questions:
Can the Server computer still be used as a desktop or do we need to buy a new mini
Does this set up make the airport base station redundant
As we grow I would envisage enlisting the help of a specialist Mac IT support company but in the mean time any help would be greatly appreciated.

You ought to go out and buy the book Mac OS X Server 10.5 Essentials - The only Apple-certified book on Mac OS X Server - which Ive found to be a godsend of a book in getting Leopard Server going. Make sure you get the 10.5 version. Im in the UK and got it from Foyles in London.
Your approach is fine, but Leopard Server isnt as plug and go as the rest of Apples products. In particular it just doesnt function correctly if you do not have working DNS before you start. Period. If you dont understand DNS in your office or If having read the book you find its too technical you might be better off buying a no-brand Network File Store/Disk or even a Time Capsule from Apple if its mainly shared disk space that you need.

Alert message error - need help
I'm very poor in the javascript department when developping PDFs and I would need a little help with this issue.
On one row, I would need field C to check on exit if Field A is larger than field C. If field A is not larger, then I need an alert message to pop up and say "Field C cannot be larger than field A." and then the cursor would return to field C, and the value of field C would become 0 (zero).
I've tried a few ways, but I do not seem to be getting it right. Any one have a clue how to do this effectively?
Thank you!It would appear that there isn't. The sample I posted worked for me, which makes me think there are other factors involved such as:
1. What version of compatibility are you saving the form as? (I saved it as compatible with 8.1 or later)
2. What program is being used to open the pdf? (I used Acrobat 8.1.6)
3. Is the user actually clicking the button with the mouse or simply hitting the Enter key to answer the pop-up? (I clicked it)
4. Machine OS (I'm using 64-bit XP, Service Pack 2)
Something else is going on that is making the pdf perform differently, maybe something as simple as the form moving outside the environment it was created in. No matter what the reason is, controlling the focus is the issue and it doesn't look to be something we can control reliably. -
My iBook is 3 yrs old now, and its worked flawlessy until about a month ago when I inserted a cd-r into the drive and it started making a grinding sound, very loud. Now it wont burn cds, gives me an error every time. Ive experienced this in iTunes, and Roxio Toast. The drive can read fine, and it imports ok most of the time, although the grinding sound is there when im importing as well. Im wondering what my options are. Any and all help is appreciated.

User Error Needs Help Correcting - Repeatable Tag on Custom Section Attribute
OK, I have v.6111. Today I am manually putting the supplier_eq_create tag on all the the existing attributes in our custom sections so suppliers can add them when we send eQs. Unfortuately, I accidently clicked on the Repeatable tag instead of Supplier_EQ_Create in a couple of instances in our Export/Staging Environment. When I try to remove the Repeatable tag, I get the error that says " row's Repeatable status cannot be altered after the row has been activated" ... we have not actually used the repeatable functionality of the tag. I need to know how I can remove this tag from active attributes due to human error before I import to PROD. Can the forum help me?

As long as you are sure that no-one has consume this you can remove this tag with a database script.
As with every script make sure that you backup your data.
With the following script you can find the rows that contain repeatable tag for a particular section template

You can remove the tag from a specific row using the following script

iTunes has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.Never mind I fixed this problem had to delete the apple support folder as well and then reinstall then turn off compatibility mode because I got the Quicktime failed to initialize error and Then it worked fine.
