Very important question related to ios 8 please enter!!!

Can't find That no 1 sign on top of the settings icon which means there is a system update So I went to settings .. General .. System upDate ., it says searching for update but takes so much time that I get bored and close it.

If you'd like to update to iOS 8 & the wifi/cellular connection is poor you can update using iTunes on a computer.

I have several very important school related documents on my iPad in the Pages app. Ever since i updated to iOS5, i can no longer open any documents in Pages that I made before I updated. Please help

Without the iPad connected, open up iTunes on your computer.  Go to iTunes/Preferences/Devices and delete the backups that you're absolutely certain do not have the documents.  Refer to figure below.
iTunes, select the iPad and then select the Summary tab.  Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "NO" to creating a backup.  (You don't want to create a new backup that does not have the docs.)  You will then be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad.  This time, say "yes."
Repeat all of the above as required until you get the docs.

  • A very important question about the HostSample-Help needed!

    Hi,
I'm trying to build a plugin for EM 12c ( 12.1.0.2 ) which suppose to monitor jmx mbeans .
I encountered during the README file which was packed with the EDK .
    1. In the section where I try to use Flash builder ( ver 4.6 - that's the only release I found .. ) I folowed the instructions if how to run the example ( HostSample/HostSystem ) . When I run the example ( I installed the sdk's of Flash and everything that was written there - no problem )
in the web browser i got the login page , and put the parameters ( username, password ) as it said in the README - the same username/password as i log in to the EM console .Than I got an error saying " ... RPC fault string ..... Logging to management server ... URL:https.. host ( my host name ) : port ( my port number ) /em..."
Does anyone has a clue about this ? What am i doing wrong or miss something ?
It is very important and urgent to me . please help .

To add a bit more detail. Before you run the application from FlashBuilder, open the same browser you will use to run/debug the application in FlashBuilder and install certificate.
    Firefox:
. when the "This Connection is Untrusted" warning appears
. expand the "I Understand the Risks" item
. click the "Add Exception..." button
. on the "Add Security Exception" dialog, ensure "Permanently store this exception" is checked
. click "Confirm Security Exception" button
    IE:
. when the "Certificate Error: Navigation Blocked" page appears, click "Continue to this website (not recommended)"
. click on the "Certificate Error" icon in the browser address bar
. in the "Untrusted Certificates" popup, click "View Certificates"
. click on the "Certification Path" tab of the "Certificate" dialog
. select the root certificate (certificate at the root of the tree)
    . click "View Certificate..." button
. click "Install Certificate..." on the "Certificate" dialog that appears
. click "Next" on the "Certificate Import Wizard"
. select "Place all certificates in the following store" button and click "Browse..."
. select "Trusted Root Certification Authorities" on the "Select Certificate Stores" dialog and click "OK"
. click "Next" button, and then "Finish" button
. click "Yes" on "Security Warning" dialog that appears
The other alternative is to enable http access using "emctl secure unlock". This is not recommended for a production site.

  • A very important question for every After Effects user

a very important question for every After Effects user, from product manager Steve Forde:
    http://adobe.ly/1exI6tI

Tom Daigon Great idea everybody! Encourage Adobe to do ONLY ONE THING with AE for 2014. Since theres not a heck of a lot of development that can be done on the present foundation, they can really stretch the rental scheme out for many years. And once you get used to the concept, every year they will do ONE THING to placate you. So now they have you swallowing no "ownership" of software and limited development.

  • VERY IMPORTANT QUESTION: Backup/Storage problems

    Please help!!!
Ok. I'll try to explain this but it's kind of confusing so I'll do my best.
OK, so a few weeks ago, (maybe 2 or 3 weeks I don't remember) I had about 30 GB free on my MacBook Air's Macintosh HD storage drive. I have a Windows partition that takes up about 48GB out of my 121 total GB. The mac part of my computer has like 72 GB. Like I said, I had about 30 GB free on my mac side; I had about 9-15 GB or so of pictures from my iPhone, photo stream, and laptop. I had about 18 GB of apps, etc.
This was on November 10th I think, and the only thing that happened between then and like 1 week ago was free space went from 30>> 27GB or so.
Problem: iCloud almost full from iPod backup, iPhone almost full from videos and pictures.
Proposed solution: Move iPod and iPhone pictures to MacBook Air so I have space on iCloud, iPod, and iPhone.
Anyway, for Christmas, I got a new Seagate 1 TB backup external drive thing. I thought this was plenty of room for my tiny computer. I decided to backup my computer.
Problem: I forgot to transfer my iPod and iPhone pictures >> MacBook Air >> Backup
Proposed solution: Move photos from iPod and iPhone to MBA and go from there.
On Christmas, I decided to just synch everything. I plugged in my iPod and put my photos onto my computer and deleted them from iCloud (at this point, I was trying to free up space on my iPhone). I had about 3.2 GB on my iPod of photos and videos, and I transfered them to my iPhoto on my MacBook Air. I deleted them off of iCloud. Then, I plugged in my iPhone, and I transfered my 6.5 or so GB of videos and pictures to iPhoto.
What happened: I transfered all of my iPod and iPhone stuff to my MacBook Air. My iPhoto now has about 16-17 GB of stuff.
Problem: My backup doesn't have my pictures. The last time I backed it up was before I had all my pictures on my computer.
Proposed solution: Get all iPod pictures in one folder, get all iPhone pictures in one folder, move them to the backup.
I didn't want to backup my computer with my pictures on it, because if I deleted them from my computer and backed my computer up again, my backup would delete the pictures it had backed up. If that makes sense.
Proposed solution: Move folders to backup. Like so:
After doing all these transfers all night until 12:30, I thought I was done. Then, this morning, I remembered that I still had to delete my pictures off of my computer, because they were now on a flashdrive (forgot to mention that) and a backup.
THIS IS WHEN THE BIG PROBLEM OCCURS/IS REALIZED
    OK:
    1) I go to iPhoto, select all of my pictures, and I move pictures to trash
    2) I go to the trash bin/can/whatever it is and I click "empty."
    3) I thought this would free up the 15 or so GB on my computer.
    4) I go to Finder, and I realize that iPhoto has indeed shrunk from 16.9 or so GB >> 1.27 GB.
    5) I go to Finder >> Macintosh HD >> info >> says I have 24.38 GB free. I'm happy.
    HOWEVER
I go to the upper left-hand corner, click the apple, hit about this mac, hit more info, hit storage... AND:
My iPhoto went from 16.something >> 1.27 now. I deleted like 15.64 or 15.65GB. This is now under backups. My Photos and movies number shrunk, but my other and backups increased dramatically
What happened/Problem: The exact amount of storage space I deleted from iPhoto is the amount for Backups (it differed by like 1 MB). Coincidence? How did this happen?! Why did this happen?
What happened/Problem II: Now there is 23.65 GB under other?!?! All I did was move pictures temporarily to my computer and then I deleted them, and I also backed up my computer using Time Machine to back it up to my... backup.
    What finder thinks:
My Question: WHAT THE HECK HAPPENED AND HOW DO I FIX IT. I thought this would free up space on my iPod, iPhone, and computer, but it took away free space on my computer. I've read online and I can't find a solution or answer. Finder and storage say completely different things. I don't know how much space I really have, and why they differ.
What is this and what do I do to remove the other/backup space? I threw away the pictures and deleted the iPhoto pictures, but it thinks they are still there? I've tried searching finder, but I can't find out where all my space is vanishing to.
Thank you so much for reading and please help! It would be VERY MUCH APPRECIATED.

Personally, I say you forget about the data allocation feature of "About this Mac." I swear, someone in Cupertino designed that feature to drive up support calls more than provide insightful information on your storage allocation.
You are correct that the "backup" component is the local snapshots of Time Machine and that flagged as allocated space frees up in the event that you need the space. In Apple's defense that functionality of Lion & Mt. Lion is pretty neat. Even though it just gives people another excuse to be lazy about not keeping a good and proper external backup solution.
Notice my Backups allocation, it's Zero KB. It's always Zero KB. There's a terminal command to stop OS X from creating the local snapshots, it'll require you to authenticate in terminal to process the command.
The command - sudo tmutil disablelocal
In the event you change your mind and want to re-enable it, the command for that is as follows -
sudo tmutil enablelocal (you'll be prompted for the admin password again)
For what it's worth, there's no harm in disabling this functionality. It's just extremely important that you maintain current backups of your data at regular intervals should you decide to disable this functionality... you know like you had to do with every other version of OS X (pre-Lion).
Regarding the "other" category, here's a pretty good write up.
    http://pondini.org/OSX/LionStorage.html
Personally the accuracy of the reporting categories are a bit wacky. Even more frustrating is that you can't dive into what exactly is considered "other" or see it color categorized in Finder. Perhaps that'll be a feature of OS X 10.9 - Ocelot*
*I have no idea if Apple will even release an OS X 10.9 or what it'll be called, it was a joke. You can call off the forum police.
If you're looking for an accurate representation of what's on the drive, where it's located in the various folder directories and exactly how much space it's using then a program like:
    - Daisy Disk
    - OmniDiskSweeper
    - Disk Inventory X
    - WhatSize?
All will be much, much better for those purposes. I used ODS for years and love the product, I just recently started using Daisy Disk after a recommendation from someone on these message boards. All of them are "free" but many of them require you to pay to enable features. But for the purposes of inventory, categorization and displaying of your data that functionality is free.

  • Very important question about fm record

I saw a Creative gb nano plus that says on the package that it will record fm. I want to record a show while working so can listen to it when I get home (like timeshifting on the vcr). However, I see that on this forum, the fm recording has been eliminated. My question is: )if the product package says there is fm recording, is there actually fm recording? 2)if there is no fm recording, please recommend another brand that has fm recording. Also, I want the fm recording to be clear, nearly as good as the original heard through the headphones. It gets very tiring to listen to a low bitrate recording. Thank you for your prompt reply because I want to buy one as soon as possible

I'm not trying to change my account name, I'm trying to change the name of a folder. If you open up finder, then on the left you'll see the sections devices, places and search for. I'm trying to change the folder under places with the little house symbol next to it. Instead of being called Home like it's supposed to it has the beginning of my email address, which is emokidd21. I really want to change that because that's an old email account that I only use for itunes and instant messaging and I just plain old don't like the name. I really hope there is a way to change this!

  • Just a very easy question ... Please help me ....

    Dear All Experts,
I have installed WebLogic 10.3.3, RCU 11.1.1.3.2, Oracle SOA 11.1.1.3.0, IDAM 11.1.1.3.0 on Oracle Enterprise Linux Update 5. And I have also done the configuration by running config.sh for both WebLogic to create a oim domain and OIM to config the OIM Server and Design Console ( Remote Manager not configured yet. )
I can start up the WebLogic, WebLogic Node Manager, oim_server1. Even though I get a lot of ERRORS *<Error> <oracle.iam.platform.kernel.impl> <BEA-000000> <IAMPKR-78172>* , I can still log into the OIM as xelsysadm. However, when I try to create a organization, the following error occurred: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com/thortech/xl/dataobj/tcEvent_ .
Would any people help me please ...
    Thank you in advance

  • A VERY IMPORTANT QUESTION !

In a direcory i want to list files. like you do
    ls dir_name
Suppose in this directory many files are copied after a short interval. ls would show all of them.
There are some files larger than expectations and are still in progress of being copied. How i would give
an 'ls' command that reveals only those files that have been completely copied to directory.
    ANY HINT PLEASE

Not to totally poo poo on your selected methology but its seems rather heavy handed and "loopy" and doesn't truely handle whether a file has been completely copied.
You should seriously reconsider the idea that Roger S. and I proposed. It is much more simple and more elegant and its the same concept on every version of *nix today - a file moved in the same file system is nothing more then the inode being moved to a different directory structure.  The file stays in place no matter how big it is.
The problem with your selected method is there is no way of knowing if the file copy is truely complete. Say the copy process dies half way through the copy. In your loop method, the definition of "complete" is the file stops growing - that's it - half way through the copy process and a kill -15 is all it takes to meet your definition of "complete". Basically, in your method the copy process doesn't have any "state".
In the method that Roger and I suggested, the file is complete when it appears in the destination directory (and as Roger suggested with a specific file name). So in this method, a file is in either a "being copied" state or a "fully copied" state. There is also a VERY short transition state of going from "being copied"' to "fully copied" - e.g. the mv command could die between the inode is actually moved. Not much you can do about this because this isn't an automic sequence of commands.
There is a little of qualification needed in the "being copied state" which needs to be handle which involves files that stay in the "being copied state" forever because of a broken copy process.

  • IMPORTANT QUESTION... Please Help

Hello everyone, I have a question for ya'll. I have an iPhone and my wife just got a 3GS for work. Now, I have iTunes running on my PC with over 140 Apps that I have downloaded. I am trying to figure out a way to get all of my Apps onto her work laptop, So I put the folder with all the apps into a shared folder on my network. Then on the laptop went into the shared network and copied the folder full of apps and then copied it to her laptop.. All of that went just fine, but when I went to add the apps to the iTunes on the laptop I got a message saying "An unknown error occured (-50)" Does anyone know why this would happen? Im thinking the only way I can get those apps onto the laptop is if I copy them to an external hard drive and then to the laptop. Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Thank You!

    Quoted from another thread:
"Having searched Google I could find no assistance with this but did manage to fiddle around and work it out myself. I copied the Mobile Applications folder to my desktop and then tried adding that folder to the library from within iTunes. This worked fine and to double check I consolidated my library once again. I notice now that iTunes created another Mobile Applications folder but in a different sub folder location (within iTunes root folder). Fixed it for me - hope that is of some help to others.
In summary, the fix for me was to copy the Mobile Applications folder with all your apps in it from your external hard drive back to your Mac (desktop) and then add to library, then consolidate.
For me, this is now resolved. "

  • TRUE BLU-RAY AUDIO - X58 Pro-E very important question !

    I have a problem.
I want to buy a motherboard with X58 Pro-E and build HTPC HD Audio.
What does this mean "TRUE BLU-RAY AUDIO" ?
There is no HDMI output, only S/PDIF !!!!!
    - There is no HD audio bitstream (DTS-HD MA/TrueHD) - no HDMI !!!
    - Does not decode HD Audio -> LPCM 7.1 - no HDMI !!!
    - That decodes the HD Audio (7.1) to analog?
    - If only decodes HD from Blu-Ray Stereo (via. SPDIF)?
What does this mean "TRUE BLU-RAY AUDIO" on MSI motherboard ?
    Regards.
    HerrMan

      >> TRUE BLU-RAY AUDIO <<
    • The loss-less content protection technology with full-rate audio enjoyment from Blue-ray Disc
    • Support for 24-bit / 192kHz sample rate offers high quality digital decoders and speakers
    • support 7.1 channels playback, plus 2 channels of independent stereo sound output (multiple streaming) through the front panel stereo outputs
There is no HDMI because there is no onboard video. The video card you get would need to have HDMI output.
LPCM: Linear Pulse Code Modulation. It is an algorithm used to convert analog audio to digital. It gives pure loss less representation of the original analog audio in digital.
7.1 is the latest in speaker configuration. Mono is one speaker, stereo is two, 5.1 has 5. The problem with 5.1 is it produces angled audio. To get the best out put you have to sit in the center and all speakers have to be placed the right way. 7.1 solves those problems, even if the speakers are not perfectly aligned you still get very good results.
S/PDIF-out JSP1 on MB connects to video card for HDMI sound.

  • VERY Important Question on a WRT54G?

Can a WRT54G be setup not to completely reset it's settings to default when reset button pushed?
Here is my dilemma.  I oversee the network at a medium sized business.  We have one WRT54G wireless router.  I really do not like having it on premises but it is hooked in front of my firewall.  Primary use is for demos and auditors and such for access to the internet in front of our network.
Everytime I setup the encryption on the router to keep just certain people using it, someone hits the RESET button on the back and resets the router to default, which means NO Encryption.
Any ideas or suggestions?  It has to be at the location it is in which is secured and I know who is resetting it but I would like to "set it and forget it."
Thanks for any thoughts or comments.

Well, even if you will set the highest level of security in your router but someone will reset it, then it will still revert to it's default ssid w/ no security. Probably what you need to do is to put a note beside the router that reads "Do Not Reset."
