Very Loud Static on iPhone

I have been unable to find any help anywhere for this, so hopefully somebody here can help.
When talking on the iphone, I experience short bursts of very loud static/white noise, sounding almost as if the other person were driving down the highway with all their windows down. I've determined that the static is coming from my phone, and the other person does not experience it. The static cuts out while the other person speaks, but cuts back in when they are silent. It happens whether I use the apple headphones or just the iphone, as-is. It's real frustrating.
Has anybody had a similar problem and been able to fix it?
Thanks

Hey Ride1992, the reset seems to have taken care of the problem. It's been about two days, and I haven't experienced the static problem. Thanks for the help

  • Very loud Static when first making or receiving a call

I am getting a Very loud Static (screeching sound) when first making or receiving a call 90% of the time.  Most of the time if I move the slider to a different position it will quit.  Other times I just have to call back.  Anyone having this problem?  Any solutions?

Have you made a call with the slider closed? If the issue still happens it could be a loose wire or connection, or a network problem since it only when making the first call.
I would take the device into the sprint store and have them do a network reprovision of the device. The network reprovision is a process where they delete the account on the network side and set it back up on the network side and program the phone with the new settings. If that does not resolve the issue then you can have the device warranty replaced right there at the sprint store.

  • Upgraded to Mountain Lion, and now my Bluetooth Headset doesn't work? All I get is very loud static. Help?

I just upgraded my iMac to Mountain Lion and my bluetooth headset doesn't work. All I get is static. Worked fine with Lion. It doesn't work with my new MacBook Pro either.
I use the headset extensively talking on Skype and gtalk with my partner.

If you've tried the SMC reset then try a Pram reset:

  • Audigy 2 ZS platinum pro ... very loud static interference.

I have setup and installed the above card in my PC running XP SP3, using Creative Update Service to ensure I am using the latest drivers etc.
My problem is an unacceptable level of static noise on the stereo outputs, of -20 dB or more. ?This is definitely a problem affecting only the analogue output and stays ?at a constant level independent of any mixer settings, even if all mixers are muted. ?Using an oscilloscope shows only a lot of hash of about 00 mV pp plus periodic spikes of slightly higher amplitude
If I monitor the record noise level using Cool Edit Pro, it is about -80 dB, so this high noise must only be appearing on the output side of things.
I cannot find a block diagram of the card to make any definite pronouncements, but I assume the mixing is done after D to A conversion, so if this noise was some kind of digital artifact, it should be affected by the mixer control settings, ?but as I say, is not.
I have tried two cards in two different PCs (the other PC with older drivers) with similar results and am completely at a loss here.
This noise looks for all the world like external interference from a noisy PC environment, but how can it be so severe in two perfectly standard and rather outdated PCs ?

@? Have you changed your power supply? It sounds to me like it is shot. I had a modular power supply from OCZ that always made a constant buzzing through my speakers whenever I played a game. Nothing else. But when I used an OPENGL screensaver (which activates the acceleration on my video card, and thus causes it to run under heavier load) the noise returned. Can you swap power supplies for another, higher wattage or better shielded unit's? Also be sure that your card is not crooked in the PCI slot. Sometimes your motherboard is placed in the case slightly askew. Even if your PC was manufactured by Compaq, Gateway, Dell, etc. there may not be enough clearance between it and the back of your case of your card is not seated tightly, and thus you get the constant sound when it is drawing down....Just my thoughts on the matter. I changed my power supply from a 500 Watt to a newer Thermaltake, and I have no more problems.

  • Loud static when answering phone

Hi I get a very loud static sound for 1 sec when answering my 8330 phone, people on the other complain of it as well. is there a fix for this? very new to blackberry phones
    Thanks
    Ray

I have begun having the same problem. It is really loud and I have learned to answer with the phone far from my ear for the first second or so, but this still doesn't help the person being blasted on the other end. Does anyone know what causes this or if it is simply the beginning of the end of the device??

Most intelligent people would simply turn the volume up.  Have you tried that?

  • Iphone volume very loud on receiving end?

When I am talking to people they mention that the volume is very loud at their end. It sounds like I am talking very loud to them from my iphone. It does help if I do not place my mouth so close to the iphone when I am talking into it. Has anyone else noticed this?
Reception is very good at my end. It's the receiving end that I am questioning. The reception is good at the receiving end it just seems like I am talking very loud to them.

    I've had no complaints.

  • ITunes 7 and very loud buzz during music playback

I upgraded to iTunes 7 and now when I play music on my iMac G4 I occasionally get a very loud buzz breaking into the music. It seems totally unpredictable and it sounds like a very loud, annoying alarm. I think it only appears in the left-hand speaker, but not sure. It never happened with previous versions of iTunes and I haven't added any additional software since upgrading iTunes and Quicktime. It's such a jarring sound that I'm almost too scared to play music through iTunes now because the buzz creates a real shock to the nerves when it happens. Any ideas? I haven't adjusted any preference defaults in iTunes or Quicktime since downloading the upgrades.

Same issue here with iPhone 6 iOS 8.1.3 and now with iOS 8.2.  New Pioneer DEH6700BS.  Took back to shop and had new deck replaced - SAME ISSUE. Mine is around 7:30 minute and same drop out right after that as you are seeing.  I have tested with iPod Touch and my son's iPhone 5C and I don't get this issue despite multiple testing scenarios.  Looks like the common denominator is the iPhone 6.

  • Loss of sound and loud static

I am running iOS 4.0.2 and I am getting loud static starting slowly then full volume. After putting to sleep it wakes with no sound or again with static. Shutting down or doing a soft restart does not bring the sound back. I have restored once to a backup and have just restored as a new iPhone and will install apps one at time to see if any app is causing it.
I am suspicious that it is the multitasking that is causing it. I am trying to confirm if it is a software or hardware problem.

I have upgraded to 4.1 and have still experienced the problem. The last time I experienced the problem was whilst the phone was in a Belkin TuneBase Direct with Hands-Free. As I touched the button on the dock the static came and then it crashed the phone.
    Anyone experienced the same?

  • Loud static during calls occurs intermittently, but frequently

Mobile phones will occasionally flood a call with loud static, so that both parties sound like they're standing in a subway tunnel with trains rushing by. Every mobile phone I've ever had does this once in a while, and the issue is resolved by hanging up and calling the person right back.
My iPhone has done this only a couple times until about a week ago. Since then, about every third or fourth call has had this loud static. It is heard by both me and whoever I'm talking to. It can be talked over, but is basically so loud that it overwhelms the call.
Location does not seem to be an issue, as it has happened to me in different physical locations, and it may occur with both inbound and outbound calls. I have had the latest update (1.1.2) installed for some time now, so this problem does not coincide with any software changes. I have a first-generation, 8GB iPhone.
    Any thoughts?

This question was not answered, but I am closing it, as I haven't experienced the issue in some time. (I moved, so maybe the problem was my local phone circuits?)

  • Loud static in headphones when plugged into laptop

Whenever my headphones are plugged into my laptop, there is a loud static/white noise. It's there all the time, but the sound is fine  if on speakers. This problem just started

    Restore it from your backup.
No idea what she has running on her laptop, but the iPhone appears just like any other camera. Sounds like something on her machine decided to go ahead and import the photos. They may actually be on her laptop.

  • Very LOUD Fuzzy Noise/Sta

Almost everytime that I shutdown my computer for the night and turn it back on the next day I'm greeted with a VERY loud fuzzy/static audio. It happened whenever any kind of audio is playing. So for example the Windows XP start up music and key clicks. It's a very weird problem and I've tried both stable and beta drivers. Here is a short clip of what it sounds like.
Note: The volume is turned down because it's just too loud. Also thats a song playing.

    Thanks for any help.

This can probably be reset by doing a SMC reset. Here is what to do on your iMac:
    • Shut down the computer.
    • Unplug the computer's power cord
    • Press and hold the power button for 5 seconds.
    • Release the power button.
    • Attach the computers power cable.
    • Press the power button to turn on the computer.
    • Report back results to us.

  • Very loud BT 6500

I have just bought a set of BT 6500 phones (Base and extra).   I use Virgin Cable for my phones.   Both BT6500's seem to be very good but they are very, very loud, even though I've reduced the volume to "minimum".    There is no static, etc, on the line, just very loud.   Anybody got any ideas how to reduce the volume beyond the "minimum"?    Many thanks in advance for any help,   Directrix.

    How about this : -
I read the small print and you can cancel an order if it hasn't been dispatched.
Here's a copy of the response I got to my request for cancellation.
Unfortunately we would be unable to cancel this order as it is currently being dispatched from BT's warehouse directly instead of our own due to the high demand of this item.
I have requested that they cancel this order from their warehouse and will email you to confirm that this has been cancelled. This should be within the next 24 ours.
I'm a little dazed and confused ( my age I guess ) with this response.
Nevertheless my order ( at the previous higher price ) was duly cancelled allowing me to place a new order at the lower price
The only difference being the delivery charge is up from .99p to £3.99
although delivered is said to be within 3 working days.
Oh, and no option to use PayPal this time, just a request for card details.
Overall I am happy with the way this has been dealt with :  Small print said I could cancel and BT allowed that letting me take advantage of the lower advertised price allbeit with a higher delivery charge..
Now, just a three day wait, I hope !!!!

  • Loud static on left speaker when playing music

Well I have officially tried everything in my power to fix this problem. it is probably not much to some, but nonetheless i am annoyed by this software.
anytime i wish to play anything on iTunes 7, only LOUD static comes out of the left speaker of my laptop. even when the volume is low. I have been to the quicktime menu to fiddle with the safe mode and frequency. uninstalling and reinstalling is hopeless. and i thought it would fix itself when an iTunes 7 update came out, no.
also, i am not sure if this is connected, but anytime I wish to play a video on iTunes it closes and i get the send error report message. and when trying to play it in quicktime every video doesnt play and all the titles are "Untitled 2" while it play perfectly in the IE windows.
i would really like to get matter solved becuz all my music is so well organized on itunes and i dont want to start that process over for a new program.
    best regards
