Very Low Speeds with PLE400
Hello
I only get 2.5 to 3 Mb download speeds.
The adapter is connected to a E4200 router my other computer that is directly connected to the router has a 48 MB download speed
I have pressed reset button and checked all connections
Any suggestions for slow speed?

Try to see if you can get better throughput with the Powerline adapter plugged into the same electrical circuit to get a base line of how they can perform. Then see if you can get them on the same or closer circuits were you want them.

I'm having the same issue. After opening Audio Midi Setup in Utilities I noticed that the master volume slider of the Built-In Output is very low. I am not able to slide to get any more level out of the system.

Good connection but low speed with time capsule
Currently I am having a very good wireless connection, but the speed of the internet is only high when the time capsule is placed close to my i-Mac.
How to increse the speed of my connection?
Having the time capsule close by, let's say around 5 meters, the connection speed is 45 Mbts but placing the time capsule in another room, let's say 10 meters the connection is good but the speed is very low, 5 Mbts.
Is there any antenna which I could use?I understand the issue with noise on the g & b, but why would my hard wire Ethernet feed be effected by the radio mode?
Everything is on the same "connection" to the Internet. So, if you have a wireless problem, it can and most certainly will affect an ethernet connection to the Internet since everything passes through the WAN port on the Time Capsule. -
2.4GHZ clients very slow speeds with AP3600

We currently have a test WiFi SSID setup that uses basic mac filtering on our WLC's
WLAN is configured with WPA and WPA2 L2 Security with WPA Policy and WPA2 Encryption.
For some reason we seem to be getting very slow speeds on clients with 2.4GHZ
for example speedtest.net I get 70mg upload and 65mg download on 5GHZ devices and about 1-3mg download and 1mg upload for 2.4GZ devices!
AP36021 are dual band with 4 channels (2 x 2.4Ghz and 2 x 5Ghz)
fyi - There are no dropped packets on the client stats via Prime mgmt that use 2.4GHZ
Any ideas here?Foreign Primary WLC (let me know if you need the Anchor controller ouput as well)

Very Low Connection with WRT54GS / WMP54GS
I have a WRT54GS Router in one brick building and a WMP54GS adapter about 60 ft. away in another brick building. What is the effective range in this situation. I'm getting a "very Low" signal. Also, I had problems setting this network up. In order to get the adapter to work I had to change the channel on the router from (default 6) to channel 2. Does this have something to do with my low signal? Any help would be appreciated!
Thanksthe 3 channels that do not interfere with each other are 1,6 and 11. 6 is the cleanest channel being in the middle of the band, but is the most popular. have you tried using only the windows utility to manage your wireless connection? this has been known to rectify poor wireless performance.

I recently bought a classic 5th 30gb with 'very low battery'. After 12hrs charging its still same and randomly shows a white screen with this website. Does the battery need replaced or something else is wrong?
What do you see on the iPod screen, when you plug in to the PC?
My suggestions,
Charge only using High Power USB2.0 port at the back of your PC and not the low power USB 1.1 port at the front of the PC.
Change the USB cable, (maybe it is broken)
Try a wall charger.

I have trouble with very low speed after loading Firefox 4
I down loaded Firefox 4 last week and since have huge problems with speed. Sometimes Firefox won't load. Most of the time eBay pictures time out when adding new.

Very Low Speed Issue!!
Hi,
I'm looking for some advice on what I should do next. BB has been very slow lately, like dial-up again, and a search of this forum put onto some tips.
So I've done the quiet line test - all well.
I've reset my Hub 1 and left it for 5 days.
The numbers that you see below have stayed stable since the reset.
I've conducted BT speed checker - it says all is well.
But it's still very slow and dropping out. I know what's wrong, but I don't know how to fix it!
Can anyone advise?

Need help. VERY low audio with Tivo series 2 and Fios
I just had Fios installed and want to use my Tivo Series 2 DVR. However, the audio can barely be heard. Any advice?
Here is my setup
1. Motorola set top digital box with HDMI output to Television. Everything is Excellent
2. Motorola set top box S video output to Tivo. Red and white AV to Tivo audio input.
In this setup, my standard def channels have excellent picture, but the volume is just way to low.
I have run the Tivo setup procedures.
When I try running Coax from the set top box to Tivo, I get NOTHING. No audio or video.
Is the motorola incapable of putting out enough audio via AV when HDMI is also connected?

The motorola is connected simultaneously to TV via the HDMI output, and to my TIVO, via S Video and AV outputs.
When the TV source is set to HDMI, all is perfect (in fact, stunning). Great sound.
When I change the TV to receive S Video from the Tivo, I receive an excellent standard def picture, but audio that I have to crank up to full scale.
I have not tried Motorola to Tivo alone, with no HDMI connection to the TV.
I do think your idea to use a second box (a simple SD digital converter) to hook up to the Tivo makes great sense. If I split the feed, sending one to the HD settop box, and another to Tivo, then I get the best of both worlds. I will get HD from the motorola, and can separately record on the Tivo.
I am still a bit concerned about audio volume, although the Tivo boards seem to say that Tivo works well with Fios. -
Very low signal with new WRT54G (V7.2) comparing with my old BEF1W1154
I bought myself a new WRT54G router to replace my old (but good working) b-router. With the old router I have a great signal in/outdoors.
With the new g-router I experience a low signal , even in the room were I installed the router. In other rooms or outdoors I don't have a signal at all.
Please adviceThere are many causes for poor wireless connections, and many solutions:
First of all, give your network a unique SSID. Do not use "linksys". If you are using "linksys" you may be trying to connect to your neighbor's router. Also set "SSID Broadcast" to "enabled". This will help your computer find and lock on to your router's signal.
Poor wireless connections are often caused by radio interference from other 2.4 GHz devices. This includes wireless phones, wireless baby monitors, microwave ovens, wireless mice and keyboards, wireless speakers, and your neighbor's wireless network. In rare cases, Bluetooth devices can interfere. Even some 5+ GHz phones also use the 2.4 Ghz band. Unplug these devices, and see if that corrects your problem.
In your router, try a different channel. There are 11 channels in the 2.4 GHz band. Usually channel 1, 6, or 11 works best. Check out your neighbors, and see what channel they are using. Because the channels overlap one another, try to stay at least +5 or -5 channels from your strongest neighbors. For example, if you have a strong neighbor on channel 9, try any channel 1 through 4.
Also, try to locate the router about 4 to 6 feet above the floor, in an open area. Do not locate it behind your monitor or near other computer equipment or speakers. The antenna should be vertical.
Also, in the computer, go to your wireless software, and go to "Preferred Networks" (sometimes called "Profiles" ). There are probably a few networks listed. Delete any network named "linksys". Also delete any network that you do not recognize, or that you no longer use. If your current network is not listed, enter its info (SSID, encryption (if any), and key (if any) ). Then select your current network and make it your default network, and set it to automatic login. You may need to go to "settings" to do this, or you may need to right click on your network and select "Properties" or "settings".
If the above does not fix your problem, download and install the latest driver for your wireless card.
Some users have reported improved wireless performance by switching to WPA encryption.
If you continue to have problems, try the following:
For wireless g routers, try setting the "Transmission Rate" to 54 Mbps.
If you still have trouble, download and install the latest firmware for your router. After a firmware upgrade, you must reset the router to factory defaults, then setup the router again from scratch. If you saved a router configuration file, DO NOT use it.

Hello. I have bought HP G42 - 369TU laptop 2 weeks back. I have some problem reguarding the sound. Eventhough I kept in the maximum sound.. the sound i hear is less than my privous laptop G6000 . Is there any hardware problem? or is that model has low volume sound? Please advice..

I played my voice memos yesterday and the volume was fine. Today I can bearly hear them. I have the volume set to the highest with the buttons on the side. Any thoughts?

I'd like you to take a look a the follow support article, specifically starting at step 5:
Verify that the volume is set to a level you would normally be able to hear.
Ensure that there is nothing plugged in to the headset jack or the dock connector.
If the iPhone is in a protective case, make sure that the speaker port isn't blocked by the case.
Make sure that the speaker and dock port aren't clogged with debris. If necessary, clean it with a clean, small, dry, soft-bristled brush. Carefully and gently brush away any debris.
If an audio issue occurs when using a specific application, try testing other applications to see if the issue persists.
If the iPhone is paired with a Bluetooth headset or car kit:
Try turning off Bluetooth.
If you experience difficulties with the Bluetooth feature, follow these troubleshooting steps.
Restart the iPhone.
If restarting doesn't fix the issue, ensure that your iPhone is updated to the latest version of iOS.
If the issue is not resolved, please contact Apple Support.

Very slow speeds with Mac Pro talking to a Ubuntu Raid Server
So I have an environment where mainly macs and a couple Windows PCs use a Ubuntu Raid 50 file server. When attempting to access the server the Mac Pros take typically 1 minute to view the file structure and sometimes timeout, the Windows machines take about 1 second. Also this seems to affect copying and deleting which takes much longer from the Mac side. The server is setup simply with a samba mount to allow access.
Any suggestions for how I can attack this issue? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

IMac having very low reliability with Hard Drive
Hi, I recently had to replace the hard drive in my Early 2008 iMac. I replaced it with a 2 TB Seagate (pretty reliable) but my computer has been stuttering lately. It'll be fine for a couple days, and then it will just die (not permanently, just until I reboot).
Anyway, I was trying to save a document, and Pages froze with a spinning wheel after I clicked "save as." I was ultimately forced to force quit and lose my document. I then went to search activity monitor in spotlight, but it froze too. I went through stacks to get to activity monitor, and it froze too when I went to look at disk activity. Mail also froze and forced me to quit it. Only after a hard shutdown (as it got stuck trying to shut down) did my computer go back to normal.
Today, this happened again, and I'm becoming worried that I'm going to have to buy a new computer. I'm going to verify the disk tonight to look for problems, but I was wondering if you all could diagnose the problem.

On a side note: Mail has been unable to send any emails, and I've had trouble with some servers. I've had to redo them and they've worked, but at this time I can't send messages through mail on ANY outgoing server I have (multiple email addresses too).The HDD corruption is a symptom. It's caused by the iMac locking up and having to be booted. When mine locks, the HDD runs constantly while the screen is frozen or a solid color. I'm forced to power it off.
Unfortunately, you are in the same boat as many others, and your issues are heat related. For me it was the HDD, then burn marks on the LCD, then GPU failures and now OS X is just unusable.
I am able to run Windows through bootcamp since my GPU recovers in Windows but not OS X. I have the fans cranked to 6000rpm and it gets to 150 - 170 degrees then things get weird. Screen flashing, spinning beach ball, solid colors, graphic distortion.
I've cleaned the vents, and fans and confirmed air flow. Be sure to try and keep your temps under control and check with Apple Store and let me know how it goes. I think mine is a goner. -
