Very low upload speed or long response times

Hi,
Just connected my Airport Extreme. Unfortunately, the upload speed appears to be extremely slow. Checking my connection using Speedtest.net reveals that it takes very long for my workstation to connect to the Speedtest server via my APExt, before it starts uploading the testpackage. I've also tested the performance of my ADSL connection by directly plugging a workstation into the DSL modem and retesting the connection via Speedtest.net. This shows a normal response between the client and the server.
How do I further diagnose this problem? I didn't have this problem before a replaced my Sitecom wireless router with the Airport Extreme.
Thanks,
J

And all that took was a firmware upgrade to version 7.6

  • Very low Upload Speed. How can I increase this?

Hi there, new to the forums with my post.
I'm a frequent online gamer and have the Bt unlimited package as a result. However over the past month I've been experiencing high latency spikes or just high latency in general upward of 1000ms. Naturally this makes any form of gaming impossible. During this past month I've conducted many speed tests and only recently discovered that my upload speeds are ridiculously low, ranging from 0.02mbps to a maximum of 0.06mbps. I believe this is what is causing my lag issues.
My question is. What can I do to resolve this and raise my upload speed to an acceptable standard?

  • Very low upload speed on Skype?

I had low download and upload speed on Skype for a while. I have fixed the download speed by resetting the settings. My upload speed is still very low. A speed test says I have 18 mbps download and 5 mbps upload. My download speed went from about 5 kbps to 150 kbps after the reset. My upload speed, however has stayed at about 5 kbps. Please help me.

    Yes, that doesn't look good.

  • Very Low Upload Speed

I wonder if anyone can help, as the BT helpdesk have refused to acknowledge that I have a problem. My BT Infinity Download speed os very good, around 30 mbits/sec. My Upload speed is very very poor, if fluctuates between 0.3 and 0.5 mbits/sec. If I use wireshark to capture the packets used when the BT Wholesale test is running I can see that I have a high packet loss rate for outgoing packets. So something is wrong. I remotely control the PC in my office from my home PC and the performance of this is definitely a lot poorer than it was recently. Kids have also complained about Itunes and stuff. Loss of packets on the outgoing link will damage download performance as the TCP ACKs are not getting back to teh data sender. Any advice on howe I can get BT to accept I have some kind of fault and do something about it? Their recommendation was that I get Business Broadband!!!!

  • Very low upload speeds for several weeks

I am long time FIOS user. Love it.
I have been seeing reasonable good 30MB download speeds, but the upload whch should in in the 15MB
range has been at 2 to 2.5 for several weeks.DNS also seems spotty, sometimes good, somestimes bad.
    I have done the following
    - Disconnected battery in ONT, and then its power to reset.
    - Powered off/recycled  Actiontec router
    - Removed all other ethernet wired connected devices from router
    - Shutdown wireless side of actiontec
    - Tested with mutltiple PCs. No firewalls in the stream, nor VPNs etc
    - Tested with virgin Windows 7, which doesn't need Fios Optimized tool
    - Tested with Linux base PC
    - Removed all STBs from cable to make sure wasnt getting MOCA related issue
    - Changed ehternet cable, so set up is 2 feet from PC to actiontek, 4 feet (coax) from actiontec to ONT
    - Tested speed using FIOS, DSLReports and other testing methods, all producing same result
I'm fairly sure this is network based. Does anyone see similiar issue. I am based in Westchester NY.
    Any help would be appreciated.

In general, you probably need to optimize
But try to do the following, and send us the info so we can pour over it
Test on a hardwired machine only
    Test at http://speedtest.verizon.net only

Then Restore your iPhone Firmware with iTunes on computer. See if better. If not, talk to Verizon and see if they know of the problem and if there is a fix. If not, then make Genius reservation and take iPhone to Apple for resolution under Warranty.

Very slow upload speed via infinity 2 (business) unlimited after phone line fix (street cabinet) ?
Had my line fixed today by engineer (no dial tone).
Download rate near normal but upload = 0.73Mbps!?
I reset modem and router after he left and appreciate my profile is probably in need of some TLC after a weeks line fault, but is this normal in this situation? I heard it can take some time to reprofile my line and before it was fixed it was even worse at 0.10Mbps
Just seems very low considered the line is now operational again.

48Hrs+ on from residential line reconnection my business infinity 2 broadband upload speed is now approaching normal speed levels.
What a 10 days that was all because some ass disturbed the cabling in the street cabinet!
Yes I'm aware I have business broadband and am talking about it in a residential based forum, but my actual phone line is still residential that it is supplied over and the business broadband product is much the same animal as that supplied to residential customers i.e. Infinity 2 Unlimited. Only the mail and option of static i.p. appear different - that is all.
    Jeez.

My download speed is around 36M and my upload speed on speed tests either fails to connect or I get around 0.5M. Pinging google leads to frequent none responses, probably on average 1 in ever 8 pings fails.
I have rebooted the router, reset the router to factory settings and disconnected all devices apart from 1 clean CentOS desktop pc to do the speed test and still get the same results. Could someone please give me details so I can get this investigated properly and soon as it is effecting my work.

Still experiencing unusable upload speeds, can someone please help me with this? Below is todays test.

  • SBWP  transaction - viewing folders/sending documents Long response times

    Hi all,
I have some complains from some users (about 3-4 out of ~3000 user in my ECC 6.0 system) within my company about their response times on the Business Workplace. In particulat they started complaining about the response time of calling the TCOD SBWP . For 1-2 of them up to 4-5 minutes when myself as well as my other 2 colleagues were getting response of 500ms.
Then they wanted also to view some folders on the Workplace and they had also response times of minutes instead of seconds.
I checked that some of their shared folders as well as the Trash Bin had thousands of PDFs. I told to delete them and they deleted most of them. Stil when they want to open a folder it takes >2 minutes while for me to open the same shared folder takes 1-2 seconds.
I checked in ST03N (user profiles, single records) and 1 of them had long database calls and request time in the Analysis of ABAP/4 database requests (Single Statistical Records).
I am running out of ideas as I cannot explain why only for those 2-3 users happens to have long response times.
Is it related to their folders in the Workplace? Where should I focus my investigation for the SBWP like transactions? Is it the case that some Oracle parameters might need to be checked?
I run the automatic Oracle parameters check (O/S AIX 5.3 , Oracle 10.2 , ECC 6.0) and here are some recommandations:

    Hi Loukas,
Your message is not well formatted so you are making it harder for people to read. However your problem is that you have 3-4 users of SBWP with slow runtimes when accessing folders. Correct ?
You mentioned that there is a large number of documents in the users folders so usually these type of problems are caused by a large number of table joins on the SAPoffice tables specific to your users.
Firstly please refer to SAP Note 988057 Reorganization - Information.
To help with this issue you can use report RSBCS_REORG in SE38 to remove any deleted documents from the SAPoffice folders. This should speed up the access to your users documents in folders as it removes unnecessary documents from the SAPoffice tables.
If your users do not show a significant speed up of access to their SAPoffice folders please refer to SAP Note 904711 - SAPoffice: Where are documents physically stored and verify that your statistics and indexes mentioned in this note are up to date.
If neither of these help with the issue you can trace these users in ST12 and find out which table is cauing the longest runtime and see if there is a solution to either reduce this table or improve the access method on the DB level.
    Hope this helps
    Michael

  • Is there a way to speed up the response time from the dock

Is there a way to speed up the response time for external hard drives from the dock? I have three external HDs but when I click on the alias in the dock there is always hesitation before it opens. I'm leaning towards the fact that it is just a result of the fact that the speed of the Mac is what it is. But, maybe there is something I can do to speed it up. The drives are plugged via usb directly to the Mac and they have there own power source. The curious thing is that they once were plugged into a large separately powered USB hub and I don't recall a lag like I have now. Any thoughts? Thanks...

Have you got the drives set up to spin down when not in use?
Have a look at the Energy Saver settings in System Preference on the Mac.
Make sure the "Put the Hard Discs to sleep when possible" box is not ticked.

    Hi Rod.
Go to Apple Menu > System Preferences > Network > Show: Network Port Configurations. Make sure that the configuration used to connect to Internet is at the top of the list. Also, disable any communications/networking configuration enabled, but not in use.
If the above doesn't fix the problem, open Keychain Access > Preferences, and disable Search .Mac For Certificates if it's enabled. Take a look at the following articles for an explanation of why this could fix the problem:

  • Urgent:How to Speed Up the Response time for PDF Report of  500 pages

    hi all
i am running the 9ias on Solaris and Generating some reports
Which fetches around 50,000 records and Display them in pdf format.
When i am ruuning the Query at Database level Response time is Very fast.
But when i Run the Report in Web Browser same report takes 7-8 minutes.
So it seems that the Conversion to pdf and Displaying it takes most of time.
Does any one has idea What parameter's needs to be changed/Caching ??? /
or any other ways or methods which can be used to Reduce the Response time.
(its once a monthly Report and User need to Download all the 500 pages as
    a Single Document).
    Any help / suggestion please
    thanks
    jai

You aren't by any chance calling a function in your repeating frame that in turn goes back and queries the database, are you? If so ... don't. We regularly do 500+ page PDF-file reports, and one thing we discovered early on was that repeatedly going back to the database while generating the report output (in our case, in calculations that were being done on each line of a report) slowed the output down by an order of magnitude. Instead, we now retrieve all the data needed for each report up front (via functions or views called in the initial SQL for the report), and just use Reports to format the output. MUUUUUUUCH faster -- 200 page reports that used to take 15 minutes to complete now complete in just seconds.
One way you can visually see if this is part of your problem is to watch the report execute in the Report Queue Manager application. If it spends all its time on the "Opening" stage then breezes through each page, this is not your problem. If instead it seems to take a long time generating each page, I'd suspect that this may be at least part of your delay.

  • E1200 very slow upload speeds

We just got an e1200 v2 router to replace one that died, and upload speeds are very, very slow. I've tried alot of potential fixes already, without success. Some help would really be appreciated. Thank you very much! (Details below.)
Speeds: Download averages about 30mbs (different time of day, multiple different speed tests, etc...) while upload averages less than 0.3mbs. Upload is about 5mbs if I plug any computer directly into the cable modem. It's definitely the router slowing things down.
Router Configuration: Newest firmware (2.0.05), upnp disabled
Wireless: Network Mode = Mixed, WPA Personal, Channel 11 (tried 1 and 6 also)
Other Steps Taken: reset the router, modem, tried adjusting MTU (in increments) down to 1430

You’ve mentioned that upload speed are slow through the router but not if directly cabled. Did you mean to say the upload speed is ok if you are directly cabled to the router or through the modem? How about try disabling WMM under Applications & Gaming > QoS. Check then if there will be an improvement with the upload speed.
